Our Wednesday get away! Always nice to see our bartender Gloria keeping us entertained and our drinks are always on point!

This is a dive bar?! Wow Willow Glen, stepping up yo game. Cleanest and lava-lamp-color-esque dive bar I'd say closer to Fairgrounds part instead of Willow Glen part. But who cares. They have free bar snacks consisting of pretzels and assorted cracker mix. There were a lot of beers on tap ranging from Deschutes IPA (yas fresh squeezed goodness) to your typical well cocktails. We had a fun night getting beers and munching away in their outdoor patio area after coming from a microbrewery in Fairgrounds. The Office is located in a shopping plaza on the very corner, so drive slow as your GPS tells you that your destination is coming up. Our group of five sat outside which was great for fresh air (unless smokers came by to light up), but indoors is also really chill with violet and dark blue mood lighting and patron-controlled jukebox music. The patio is still my favorite location to sit and drink, even though inside is really good for large groups or just getting one last sip to end the night. The place closes LATE at 2AM even on weekdays. Ruh-roh! The area felt safe even as we arrived after 9PM. They don't serve food--not that I know of, and we saw a range of people there from a larger party to couples enjoying the music and people watching. One of my friends is a regular and he is always trying to get us to come back to his watering hole. I can see why. read more

I saw a sign on the road advertising this place so I stopped by to check it out. The place is small and it was crowded and loud. I like strip mall bars, but this one had no charm at all. I really felt out of place and it took me no more than 15 seconds before I decided to leave. I wanted to like this place but I found the atmosphere extremely uncomfortable. read more

The office bar is right across the street I can walk to it in three minutes they have set up tables outside so at least if you want to get out of the house and practice social distancing we can have a cocktail talk to people instead of sitting at home watching Star Wars for the 500th time. I've been to China and I've been to Thailand and I series open markets that are just completely filthy no wonder we're all sick. The only suggestion I have is to stay home if you're able if you have to go out make sure you have a mask on. And if you see somebody that is impacting their social distance in their masks on properly just keep your mouth shut because getting into a fight it's just not worth it. read more

This is my favorite place after work. (Previously) 'The Marmist' was a mellow, grungy dive, but with all due respect, The Office is better. Weekday afternoons have a chill vibe, with personable bartenders and strong drinks. Good for game days and the restaurant next door (Amato's) delivers if you're hungry. Nighttime is also on par, bartenders are good at remembering drinks if you're a returning customers and their recommendations for newbies are usually spot-on. Lots of comfy seating and a spacious patio with another TV outside. Reasonable prices and good crowd. Also, their happy hour is 6am-6pm! Seriously I can't recommend enough. They take care of you like a dive bar, but feel like a Vegas bar. 5 stars. read more

This place has the dive feel but has obviously been newly renovated. I came here for a friends birthday party with a group of about 10-15 people and besides did us there were just a few other patrons. I liked the vibe (because I like my friends) but was not a huge fan of their beer or champagne selection (they only had one IPA and Cooks!). I don't think many people know about this bar because it's tucked into the corner of a not so popular shopping center in willow glen. I would be willing to return if someone else wanted to go, but would never suggest it as a top one or 10 option if I wanted to hang out with friends for a drink. read more

2.5 stars. I agree, it has potential. Since the big remodel it's lost some of it's charm, but on the bright side, the terrible odor is gone. I remember being there when it was The Marmist and I couldn't finish my drink because of the smell. It wasn't very crowded, so we got served right away. The bartender was friendly enough. I think maybe if they were to start serving food, nothing fancy just "bar food" it might bring it up a notch? I come here whenever I wanna go out to have a drink with some friends (which is every once in a while). I love the environment, the people are always friendly, the drinks never disappoint!! The Office - Lounges Near Me - San Jose, California

I've been here a number of times when nearby because my husband really likes it here, usually before or after a movie at a theater in the same plaza. I'm not as big a fan of the place as my husband is, but for a dive bar it is quite nice. The place is smallish and very dark inside (no windows), with lots of tvs. The bartenders have always been super nice and friendly and provide us with great service. Other random customers that we have interacted with have also been friendly. We stick to well drinks here, usually vodka soda with lime or rum and coke, and for those drinks, the prices are very reasonable. They put out little dishes of bar snack mix for you, but they don't serve food. However, you are more than welcome to bring in your own food. We sometimes pick up something from one of the shops in the same plaza and bring it in with us. The place is clean and has a comfortable, laid back vibe. They have free wifi, so my husband comes here sometimes with his laptop to do work. I've only been here during the day so can't comment on the evening or night scene here. The only reason for 3 and not 4 stars for me is that it just isn't necessarily my kind of place, mostly because I don't like bars or restaurants with no windows - quirky, I know! But, when I do come here, I always enjoy myself. read more

I came for my birthday and we all spent money on shots and drinks and all I asked for was for a cup of water and the bartender who was a middle aged white man was extremely rude and said "we are at a bar not a restaurant". I recommend that this person should learn to not be such a prick and make such a big deal about getting water. read more

The service here is impeccable... Gloria made sure my drinks and belly were always full... the spacing is awesome and it doesn't hurt they check your temperature as you walk in and give you hand sanitizer. The chili was chunky and I would've ordered some to go if I had been able to finish more than half of this hearty dish... but still what stood out was Gloria... I loved coming here before but with the extra care there's not doubt I will tell my friends and family about it... can't wait to go back! read more

This place is super cool because it's open super late and they have chex-mix! The beer on draft is suuuuper cold. They serve it in a cold tall glass and it's just incredibly refreshing after searching for a place to get out fix at such a late hour on a week day. They have several options on tap! Our friends weren't kidding when they said this is the cleanest dive bar ever. It is. It doesn't smell. Decor is on point. Several tables to sit and talk with friends. They even have a patio where you can smoke and chill. Several tvs to watch the game. Music plays in the background. Kinda chilly if the place is pretty empty though. It is tucked away in a corner of the plaza but it's so neat inside. I'm super excited that this place exists because of their hours! Initially, I really loved this bar. However, there is a certain day time bartender who seems to have severe personality issues. At one point, she even lectured me on my behavior, though I assure you, I and my friends have not behaved in any inappropriate manner. I have never been lectured by a bartender before. So this was a little mind boggling to me. Since that lecture, she has behaved pretty cold to me and my friends. I tend not to take it too personal, as I've noticed her harsh demeanor with other patrons - though she can be very nice to her friends who go there. I wish the owner would be made aware of this, as she is driving good paying customers away. My friends and I spend good money there and leave pretty big tips. Otherwise, I do love this place and have heard that the bar is a lot more friendly during the evening hours. The drinks are good there but go at your own risk and beware of grouchy bartenders. read more

We were great customers we just asked for picture from the the lady serving at the bar if she can click a picture for us. She was super rude. She just went crazy. I think she has some personal issues. Please get it right coz its bad for business. She probably doesn't want to work whole heartedly. Very rude staff Walked in and asked simple question of whether they had a menu, as many bars do, even if minimal Was condescended to, "This is a bar honey. Theres a res..tau..rant..nextdoor." A simple, "Sorry, we dont serve anybfood at all" would have sufficed. Work in the area and coworkers have been considering drinks here. Older male bartender obviously had a bad day, I asked for some whisky and lemonade. And did not even take the time to ask what it was immediately said he doesn't have it when clearly they had the whisky bottle up on the bar. The bartender being sarcastic stated they had no lemonade ( I had plenty of times made before which was never a problem). I asked for other suggestions besides lemonade and he completely ignored my question. This is by far the friendliest bar in SJ. Everything here is so personable, and the prices and happy hour specials here are seriously amazing. Been here only twice and both times bartenders made unique signs to welcome my friends and I. There's a lot of bars in the city but ones that are super friendly are rare to come by. It's not a pretentious bar at all and there's room in there to dance and good music is always on. Literally everyone here is nice, the bartenders and the bouncers introduce themselves to you. Wow....is all I can say. I feel sorry for the owner! Sometimes when I get off work before 2am I swing by and have a drink. The last few times I've been there the bartender is talking ( gossiping ) so loud it's annoying. It's always negative stuff....tonight was no different except the guy she was arguing with an gossiping too was too close to me. I said " I came here to relax" her response to me was " If you want quite....go to a church!" Really? She was so pissed that the guy sitting next me was saying he liked another bartender....she turned around and took it out on me. Crazy Melissa! I'd fire her in a minute! They lost my business. They had a great selection of liquor (gf drinks single malt scotch) and some good beer on tap (I had sculpin). Our bartender Gloria was amazing. Nice place. Buddy and i tried it last night on a whim. Very clean. Excellent selection of liquor. Could use better wines to meet the liquor quality, but not a major issue. Bartender was helpful and efficient. missy was very friendly and poured a proper shot. I hope they keep that mentality. Although no food is made there they are surrounded by places that deliver. Like that a lot actually. Focus on bar service and let the foodies do the food. All in all a great place with a lot of potential. So many times new owners start strong and then lose the recipe. First off- GLORIA IS AWESOME! However we will not be back. $16 for a Cadillac Margarita?!? WTF?! The manager was there and said NOTHING! He shrugged his shoulders. Great you got $48 for 3 Cadillac margaritas- congrats! You also lost two repeat customers from your neighborhood. The other margarita should have been charged at happy hour well drink prices, but it wasn't. Apparently the owner forgot what customer service is! This place is much better since they remodeled. It's sort of in a weird spot - shopping center next to a dry cleaner. It's not bad if you want to grab a drink before a movie at the theater in the same complex. Hey don't serve food, but have all your standard beers and liquors. Nice TVs and they have a chill little patio in back. If you live in the area, there aren't many bars, so it's nice to have one close by. Not going to be a place you spend all night at, but good for a quick drink or two. read more
