I found a thick black thread/string in my eggs inside my burrito. I immediately reported it and asked for a replacement. When the new burrito came out, it was not good at all and clearly rushed. No one genuinely tried to fix the situation or apologize in a meaningful way. To make matters worse, I had to ask for money off, and the employee looked at my burrito -- after I had only taken three bites -- and told me I had eaten "half" and would still need to pay half. The lack of accountability and poor customer service was disappointing. Food issues happen, but how a business handles them matters. I wish I was able to have an enjoyable first experience here, but unfortunately it wasn't the best nor was it welcoming. Not trying to be sexist while saying this but they literally had just all females working there just sitting around talking conjuring up around the back where the RTD case is at. The waiter I had was really not helpful and I feel like she lacked communication and customer service. 2 out of 3 plates were served and she disappeared for 30 min and we kept looking for her (especially because she was the only person with a yellow uniform shirt in the building, everybody else has on a different color) So spotting her would have been super easy right ? Yeah no unfortunately she disappeared nobody checked in on her tables and it was times that around us the tables that kept getting sat near us were taking a long time getting a waiter / server as well. So in my years of working with those who serve it's insane to know that nobody followed up on their co-workers tables while she was gone. Seems they may need more training on working together and not individually but hey who I am right ? So waited 30 min to get sat, Took 25 min to get greeted Then even longer for the food I never received. When asked for a manager or "team leader" from the host all of a sudden my waiter appears well look whose back, team leader finally comes and to me it really seemed like she didn't know what she was doing and whoever promoted her needs to have better judgement on who should be a lead in the store, They conveyed in the back and talked about the situation and laughed and giggled and then came back with the check. I like this The Pan location. It's a lot bigger than the others! Which makes for a less cozy environment, but it still feels like a diner. The service is good and quick; meals are usually accurate. Today we caught a midday lunch and chose bar seating for less wait time (maybe 7-10 mins). Orders: Loaded Hash Brown and the Lumberjack. Both with Cinnamon Roll pancakes! My oldest daughter ordered the Chocolate Peanut Butter Pancakes and she was in heaven. Me and my son went with the Breakfast Burgers and they were packed with flavor -- hearty, savory, and cooked just right. My youngest had the Lil Fella and even she was smiling from her first bite. The food truly has that real home-style comfort taste -- warm, flavorful, and cooked with love. But what really makes our visits special is Nicolette. We always request her section because she is honestly a ray of sunshine. Her personality just lights up your whole morning. She's attentive without hovering, so sweet with the kids, patient, friendly, and she makes everyone at her tables feel welcome and taken care of. I was driving home from Gardena on a Thursday around noon and I stopped at the 2 locations out there. They had long waits to be seated. So then I proceeded to the Long Beach location. It also had a long wait to be seated, but this location has a counter where you can sit immediately. I was happy. I ordered the Original Loaded Hash Browns with poached eggs and avocado. Even though they are listed among several gluten-free apps, and people have made comment about their gluten-free selections on Yelp, and Google, the current chef, believes that almost everything on the menu has gluten, except for their GF pizza crust and salads. And despite my request, they were unwilling to find out. Despite earlier reports, they're nachos or not safe. They fry the tortilla chips, in the same fryer as all their breaded items. They're pozole is safe, their tacos are safe, they have multiple entrees, That can easily be made GF, by simply cooking them in a separate pan. So since the chef is unwilling to educate himself, I do not feel safe at this establishment, and advise anyone who is celiac, or gluten-intolerant, to stay away. This is a sad review because I love the Pan's food but they do a terrible job of sealing your food if you order from any of the food delivery places (and we all know that's not a good idea for many reasons): GrubHub DoorDash UberEats InstantCart Etc. The Pan does NOT seal the food orders properly and a FLY was in my food order bag! I did not eat the food because one side of the plastic container was ajar (not the drivers fault) and the fly was having a great time with my food. When I called The Pan and spoke to the manager, she stated "we don't double seal the food bags unless you ask us to". Obviously! I won't order delivery from them ever again. Do better! I went for the shrimp & grits this was my first time at this location. I think they changed the recipe for the shrimp & grits they no longer taste the same . They barely give grits but make the plate presentation look wonderful over saucing the shrimp with some type of Cajun sauce or aioli I'm not 100% sure but it was quite overwhelming because there's hardly any grits on me or my sisters plate. I've been here four times. Two of those times, I went early on a Saturday and it was lovely. Two of those times were later in the day and they ranged from pretty bad to horrible. Today, we went around 11 and the service was abysmal. The food for most of our party of six was "okay." The bacon was limp dick cooked. One cup of coffee was good, the next undrinkable. The two times it was awful, I suggested the place much to the dismay of my friends/family. One of my cousins will never let me choose a restaurant again. It was so hard for me and my friends to pick what time order since there are so many good choices! (Strike one) Then I noticed while eating the potatoes that I was having trouble chewing them like I was struggling... then I thought this is what happens when they've been cooked and sat out then reheated in the microwave (smh) this time I said NOTHING!! (Strike 2) I started eating my bacon ( I LOVE BACON) like I really love bacon (strike 3) old bacon when it's been over cooked then reheated has a leather like look and in breaks easy. The service was amazing and the ambiance showed that it was obvious the food is outstanding because there was standing room only waiting for your seats.
