I had lunch at The Parish Cafe in Healdsburg yesterday, and it was top-notch! Everything I had was fresh and delicious. Their Po-Boys are done in the traditional fashion using local French Bread. Anything deep-fried is lightly battered and cooked to perfection! If you start with the Fried Pickles, it won't ruin your appetite, even though it's a generous portion. I also recommend a cup of Jambalaya and a cup of Gumbo as side dishes that will complement anything on the menu. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the place has a great atmosphere. First, the staff was really great, friendly, helpful, and just the right amount of sassy ;) We started with the beignets, which rekindled a sense memory of New Orleans for me. As local residents, we have been regulars at The Parish Café since the day they opened. For our wedding anniversary, we decided on a nice Sunday brunch at this, one of our favorite restaurants. As always, the food was amazing. (Such a unique and flavorful menu.). But the service was a little off today. Very possibly because we switched tables, to accommodate our doggies outside. We had a waitress assigned to our first table, but once they moved us to our second table, no waitress came to check on us, or deliver the rest of our order. As soon as the manager, Malissa, found out about the problem. She came over personally and apologized and made everything right. Could not be more impressed! The waitress, Amber, was also very apologetic and sweet. It's very rare to find this kind of customer service. People love to write Yelp reviews to complain about food or service. Went on a whim to The Parish Cafe while on a Girls Getaway. What brought us there was the inviting view it had from the street. What is really the front is the back of this charming restaurant. We were seated right away. Our server, Mario, was wonderful and personable. What we ordered: The Beignets were "lightly fried" and dusted in powdered sugar. 10/10 I'd eat them again! The Bananas Foster Pain Perdu had just the right amount of sweetness. The coffee was smooth-- a characteristic of freshly roasted beans. Delicious! Parish (named for the parishes they have in Louisiana rather than counties) is a great place to stop before you head out of town. They're also open for dinner now which would be pretty with all those Christmas lights. My Dad's side of the family is from Louisiana and I love that we have a Cajun restaurant here in the (north) North Bay. I get a big cup of their delicious coffee and tried their houma hash the other day (which is my favorite thus far). The grits are better than I've had down south and my daughter's a big fan of their beignets. The staff is very friendly and it's always nice to stop in and say hi. read more

First, service from Amber was a delight! She was patient, helpful, funny and sassy. Great coffee and I love their mugs. We love the NOLA theme and menu offerings. So hard to choose. I got the Eggs Sardou - it's a Benedict style with spinach and artichoke hearts. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the toast was perfection. My only suggestion would be a little more hollandaise. The beignets were puffy perfection. The Hubbs got the Parish platter with andouille sausage. I love the crispy Cajun potatoes. I'm glad he shares!!!! The service was outstanding. I booked a table inside but the weather was so nice that I decided to move outside and the staff were very supportive and accommodating of my request!! The food was impeccable as well. I had the surf and turf po'boy and it was so delicious. All of the staff working greeted me upon arrival and thanked me upon exit. If you want to charge more, just charge more. Don't hide behind fine print and then guilt-trip customers into playing budget hero. Had some business in Healdsburg and my appointment ran late so stopped by to have some breakfast. Turns out they have a hard stop between breakfast and lunch so had lunch instead. Super quaint and nicely decorated spot. Service was fantastic and was seated outside which was just perfect. Ordered cup of jambalaya and 1/2 shrimp Poor boy with kettle chips and a coke. The jambalaya was great and the 1/2 sandwich was actually huge. The shrimp were fresh, deliciously breaded and cooked perfectly. The French bread was really fresh and just a Great lunch!! Saw the sign with the Beignets and a table near ordered them and that smell caused me to order some.....that was 2nd best decision of my day, they were spongy on the inside, crunchy on the outside with just the right amount of sugar. Had a RSVP for 10am on 7/6/25. It was our wedding anniversary. When I made the reservation, I asked if they can accommodate us since we had our dog. They said yes and that we can be seated outside in the patio area. Got there at 10:00am and our table was not ready. So waited until 10:25am... finally was seated. The host who seated us immediately rushed us and took our order. We thought it was odd... meanwhile other tables within proximity had a different waiter. The host who seated us and took our order never came back out with water even though we asked for it. Instead someone else brought out our coffee and food and left. When our food came I forgot that we didn't order any beignets! Was going to flag her down to order but then a different host seated a party of 4 people r right next to us who also had 2 dogs with them. but their dogs were rowdy. The dogs jumped on our dog and then our entire table shook.... Our coffee spilled everywhere over the table and we had to reseat ourselves to a different table. Can't believe they didn't have the foresight to not seat two parties with dogs next to each other. Anyways, No apologies. No stopping by to ask if we needed napkins or new utensils for the spills. No water the entire meal. No new coffee offered. Nothing! The host who seated that party next to us and the waiter who was serving other tables nearby saw the whole commotion and didn't say a single word to us. The host who originally seated us and took our order also never showed up again. When we finished our meal, the waiter who was serving other tables just came by with the check and was like "here you go. Bye" I can't believe I still tipped... I should have left nothing... the service was horrific and I felt so discriminated against. Especially when there was already an additional 4% surcharge on top of the bill for the staff members "living wages", you'd think they would do better. Needless to say, we also didn't get to try the beignets. Overall, Customer service was horrible. It was such a bad start to our morning of our wedding anniversary. Would not recommend The Parish Cafe to anyone even though the food was good. I regret not going to Costeaux instead. Or even Acorn Cafe again, where service and food were equally as good. read more

This was the first time I have ever attended a Crawfish Boil, I was excited. The Parish Cafe was the place to be Friday night. I could hear the live band playing as I was parking. When I entered Mario took care of me right away inside the cafe. This crawfish buffet party had more than crawfish. Fresh off the smoker they had Tri Tip with a rub that was out of this world, the smell alone had me mesmerized. The southern creole succotash and the Louisiana black eyed peas were delicious undeniably. My waiter Grace was so thoughtful, she checked on me frequently and went out of way to deliver my beignets to my table. Grace I can't get fat by myself! I had so much food uneaten she brought me a to-go container. Grace even suggested that I come back for the brunch served on the weekends. It was the food, the dancing, and all the laughter for me. Every dish is perfection and captures the flavors of Louisiana that are almost exclusively found there. I was so happy to have discovered this gem while on vacation in Sonoma. It brings me no joy to give these guys a poor rating. But I have to be honest. The service was perfect. But I went specifically because I love oyster po' boy sandwiches, and was craving one. I usually get them out in Bodega Bay at Fisherman's Cove, and they are delicious! But I live in Santa Rosa and was hoping to find a closer spot. I heard good things about Parish, and perhaps their other dishes are great. But their oyster Po' Boys are not good at all. There is far, far, too much tasteless bread, and not near enough fried oysters. That's the real problem. I could also criticize the lack of sauce, but no amount of sauce will make up for that much bland bread and so few fried oysters. I'm really bummed because I so wanted to love this place. read more
