My favorite chocolate chip in the city so far. When I first took a bite, I was astonished by how delicious this cookie was. It is thin, crispy on the edges, and gooey/soft in the center, and has the perfect amount of flakey salt on top. The flavor is perfect, it tastes like butter, brown sugar, and all good things in the world. I would highly recommend trying the Pastry Box. I always bring friends and family here.

Cookie crawl review! I forgot to take a picture because I got greedy but the black and white cookie is perfectly buttery with a good thick frosting. Definitely iconic!

Easily my favorite pastry and cookie shop in New York. Coming from LA it's been a struggle trying to find a cookie to my liking. I usually go for a thinner cookie with crispy edges and a chewy interior. The pastry box is just that! You cannot go wrong with their chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies. And it's black owned! If you're looking for one of the best cookies in NYC, this is your place. Trust me, you will be coming back shortly after visiting. It was so funny because when I came in for the first time, I ordered three, ate one while I was leaving, and returned like a minute later lol. Don't forget to pair it with a cold glass of milk ! 5/5

Might be the best chocolate chip cookie in the city, crispy edge, soft center, thin but moist. Pleasant staff and not crowded in the afternoon, and they bake all day so that helps keep things in stock.

Always love to support a woman-owned, black-owned business but feel this review might be helpful. Unfortunately more like 3.75 stars for the large chocolate chip cookie ($6). I got to the small shop an hour before closing on a Saturday. It was busy, with a pop-up tent out front with people underneath. 2 high tables inside and a line of about 6 people. I realized that the lines at places are actually because the shops and restaurants are small and don't have a lot of room to wait. The line moves quickly and the staff is very nice and efficient. Pretty much every customer was very millennial and on a food tour/cookie crawl. It seems like the staff is baking cookies literally all day and the large ones were still very warm, the center very gooey, edges getting crisp. The ingredients are very high-quality - the butter, looks like two types of chips (one flat & darker) & not overly sweet - maybe not sweet actually? I just didn't taste anything. It was a cookie, but nothing about the flavors blew me away. No browned butter undertones. Not sure if it was because it was so warm & I was paying too much attention to the extremely soft center & fragile cookie. It was better the next day, the center stiffened, but the flavors were still pretty flat. The cookie is big (6-8"), but the $6 price (understandable for rent & staff) didn't match with my expectations unfortunately. There were other items in the case that were at a lower price point, but nothing else that interested me. The display counter is in an awkward spot on the side with minimal space to browse, maybe there should be a plate of samples, labeled, & priced at the front of the counter so there isn't ordering anxiety.

This was the best chocolate chip cookie I've ever had. My friend and I split one, and it was so good we had to go back in and get another. We didn't want it to end. Definitely worth the hype and a MUST when in the area!

Best cookie I've ever had. Crunchy on the outside, gooey on the inside, and the salty flakes just blew me away. Stomps on all of the other cookies chains (chip city, insomnia) for a reasonable price. Also amazing brown butter brownies. Will be coming back for sure. A lot of amazing items on their menu I'd love to try next. Cute little store front in east village with simple service, minimal seating on the inside, and AC. Black owned business and previous Michelin pastry chef.

Oh my goodness walking in the spot I think I gained 100 pounds just with the sweetness in the air. The yuzu lemon cake was so moist and delicious. I can't stop thinking about it. The chocolate chip was golden brown, buttery, crispy and chewy all in one and I can't even describe the sweet goodness they call a cinnamon roll. Highly recommend. Cute take away spot. Super busy. They have board games and two tables if you are lucky to get a spot where you can eat your desserts and must I say the music selection was old school R and B.

So underrated! I absolutely loved the carrot cake. It was so moist, and I liked that the edges were a bit chewy. The frosting was subtly sweet, not overly sugary. The kitchen sink cookie was so fun! The staff were so nice and patient when we were deciding and gave us lots of recommendations. I highly recommend!

YES YES YES YES AND MORE YES! Came in on a Wednesday around noon and I immediately warmly greeted upon entry. The bakery itself is small and charming. I ordered 6 items to try with my husband. Quarter Lb Chocolate Chip Cookie - Honestly perfection. I am typically more of a thick gooey CC kind of girl, but this one was truly perfect. It was thin, soft, and XL. Black cocoa cookie - I wanted 2 more. The cocoa cookie had a soft texture and a very slightly bitter taste. It was very well balanced by their homemade marshmallow fluff filling. This was my personal favorite (only narrowly ahead of the CC) Brownie - soft and fudgy - what more could I ask for? Campfire cookie - 2 brown butter cookies with marshmallow fluff dipped in chocolate. yes, please. I asked what this cookie was before the woman helping me could even finish explaining, I knew I needed to try it. Delicious! Black and white cookie - Surprisingly light for a B&W. Perfectly executed. Kitchen sink cookie was tasty, but overall not out favorite. Their homemade marshmallow fluff is just amazing. Will certainly be back for more!

TikTok led me here--and let me just say, it did not disappoint! This spot has one of the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever had. It was definitely worth the wait for a fresh, warm batch of gooey, chocolatey goodness. The boutique-style pastry shop is cozy, with a few seats inside and a couple outside. The ambiance is charming and inviting, but the real star of the show? Those cookies. I traveled all the way from the Bronx during my NYC trip just to try them, and I'm so glad I did. They were so good, I ended up ordering extra to bring back home to ATL. Highly recommend if you're a cookie lover or just want a sweet treat that lives up to the hype!

I saw this place on IG, and I'm all for supporting a Black business. I stopped by one day and ordered the kitchen sink and the black & white cookie. The kitchen sink was my favorite--it was breakfast for me since it has corn flakes and rice Krispies. The black & white cookie was too sweet for me (it was my first time having it in life). I went back later that day to get the ¼ pound cookie for a coworker who has a major sweet tooth. She absolutely loved it. I went back the following week to order the kitchen sink again and the ¼ pound cookie. I see why my coworker loved it so much. The service was wonderful, she remembered me from the previous week. The café has 2 small tables as well as small tables outside. It's a lovely space and I hope they flourish.

I've never tried a Japanese cheesecake before and was extremely excited to be able to pick up some treats for my coworkers as well as my partner's birthday cake from Keki. Ordering is fairly straightforward and done with a simple machine outfront. Once your order is ready one of the staff members hands it to you through a window; there is no inside area accessible to customers but our food came quickly and we took it back to the office. The cheesecake was fantastic. I read a bit about the background of the shop online and how the owner really cares about using high-quality ingredients, specifically dairy. It was justas described, light and bouncy. I enjoyed how it was not overly sweet and found that it was all too easy to devour the entire cake over the course of two days. Despite it not having much weight to it, it traveled surprisingly well as I took it home on my three train commute! Similar to what others have said, the real highlight of the shop, in my opinion, are their cream puffs. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but the outer layer was thin yet had a nice little crunch to it. We tried the classic milk, cookies & cream pistachio and ube flavors. Our favorite was the pistachio by far, which had such a unique yet decadent flavor and our second favorite was the milk cream puff. There's not much else I can say other than you really have to go here and try the desserts yourself. If you're a fan of Japanese desserts that are rich yet not too sweet, you'll be a fan of Keki.

And I commonly see the upstairs for private events like baby showers, bridal showers, or birthday parties on social media. After dinner with my friends, I was looking for dessert and I was glad to see this location closes relatively late on a weekday night at 11 pm. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a waiter who led us to one of the purple velvet chair booths that was perfect for two people and another waiter brought us a pitcher of water almost immediately. The menu is on a QR code already on the table and we were given ample of time to decide. My friend and I both already knew what we wanted to order. I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. My usual go-tos are the twister fries, Santa Fe chicken rolls, fried salted crispy chicken, and the trio dessert combo. However, this location has a lot more variety! We ordered potted rose milk tea to share, Dubai affogato and Brown Sugar Boba Mille Crêpes Cake. We came on a Friday around 4pm. Originally I wanted to try the strawberry matchamisu, however, was told that it sold out. What a bummer. The rose milk tea came with a themed pot and cups which is really cute. The rose fragrant smelled so good and the milk tea also tasted good and has a hint of rose taste. The cake was good, the boba was well cooked, chewy and flavorful! This time there was an unpleasant experience. At first when the Dubai affogato was served, we did not realize that the amount of the coffee was little until we saw another customer's dish that the volume of their coffee looked significantly more than ours. My friend brought it to the waitress attention but the waitress brushed it off and did not acknowledge our concern. When we finished and were about to leave, the same waitress came over and showed us that the container of the coffee was different and hence the volume of the coffee looked different. At this point, we did not care for it anymore. We would have been fine if the staff acknowledged our concern. We thought that maybe using standardized containers for the coffee would avoid this problem. Other than that, the food and drinks were good.
