This is one of the most convenient bagel spots in my neighborhood. The variety of fresh bagels was impressive for such a small establishment, and they offered a number of beverages (including bubble tea) as well. My go-to order was typically a jalapeño and cheddar bagel with lox, onions, and plain cream cheese. However, most everything I have tried there was fresh, made to order and served with a smile. Although I typically try to grab a table outside, walk to the Embarcadero or walk home to enjoy my meal, the seating area inside the cafe is quite clean, well lit and spacious. If you're anywhere in the area and have a hankering for a bagel, coffee or bubble tea at a reasonable price, this is your jam. read more

If I could give this less than 0 stars I would. I've been a fan previously of other TPB locations so imagined this location would be on par with those given its location. WRONG. WRONG. WRONG. Not only were they out of almost everything in their case, the entire place was in disarray. Dirty signs, dirty floors, stacks of boxes in the dining room as well as scattered all over the counter. I ordered a breakfast sandwich at lunch time and specifically double checked the ingredients with the woman behind the counter and she confirmed cream cheese. Speaking of service, there were two of us that entered the shop and two women behind the counter but only one of them was helping us? The other was walking around touching things but doing nothing? Anyway; back to the sandwich. She made the sandwich and rang us up and of course I didn't even think to check my sandwich until I got back to the office. My bagel was stale, barely toasted and the sandwich was lacking cream cheese and mostly made up of leftover slices of ham. Do better PB, especially in a tourist area. Because today was Columbus Day Holiday, I was off from work and had the chance to have a late breakfast here while walking through the Embarcadero Shopping Center earlier. The Egg & Sausage Breakfast Sandwich I ordered really hit the spot. It was warm and freshly made and comforted me during the cold and cloudy morning we had earlier. The toasted sourdough bread was good and the egg had a nice balance of salt & pepper. The cashier and the counter person were very helpful and friendly. Had breakfast here one morning - in an effort to avoid the incredibly expensive breakfasts served in the Hyatt Regency next door. I went for the Lox & Bagel - on a garlic bagel, and a cold bottle of water. Loved the bagel! The outside was toasted with a nice crust of salt and garlic, the smoked salmon was savory, the cream cheese was smooth and "creamy," the red onions provided a nice bit of crisp, crunchy texture, the capers a bit of salt, and the tomatoes - a bit of acidity. I decided to check out PB since Lee's Deli only carried glazed, strawberry, chocolate, and cinnamon sugar. PB offers their cronots either plain or filled. This specific location had the following flavors for $2.99: Maple Bacon Strawberry Chocolate Cinnamon Sugar Cherry Glaze Blueberry I picked up maple bacon (plain) and glaze (plain). I happily walked back to the office as I was excited to try the maple bacon. However, I was disappointed! The cronot was stale! I had intended to give the glaze to my co-worker so that he could try it, but ended up tossing both cronots since I didn't know if the glaze was staled as well. A quick munch before the ice skating rink. This ground floor coffee shop and their well lit place caught my eye. The proximity to the rink was another plus. I didn't try their bagel but opted for their fresh blueberry muffin. It was moist and freshly made. I paired a white mocha coffee with it. Total was $7+ Pleasant staff. So this wasn't a completely terrible breakfast stop. Firstly, the staff was crazy nice and accommodating. It was a small army of 4 employees all not doing much and they greeted us right when we entered and were helpful at explaining our various bagel questions. I got the Pesto Bagel(very good) with there egg deluxe which consisted of mushrooms, spinach, cheese, and ham. Everything was good except the eggs. They were very bland and I felt the ratio of egg to bagel to other condiments was overwhelming. Waaaaayyyy too much egg and again the blandness didn't help. Posh bagels have everything I could want in a bagel. They're soft, gooey, and just the right amount of chewiness. Its the closest thing you'll get to a fresh out of the oven tasting bagel as you can get. When I was living in NYC, I made it my mission to find the best bagel joint since theyre famous for them. I usually found them to be too dense and too chewy for my liking, which I realize a lot of people will say Im wrong about. To me though, they lacked the fresh, gooey texture I was looking for. After moving to SF, I completely threw that mission out the door and assumed most bagel places obviously wouldn't compare with NYC bagels. I stopped by Posh Bagel for breakfast one day since I arrived early for training in the city. The place wasn't crowded and there wasn't a line so that was a huge green light for me to try out their bagels. I needed something substantial so I ordered their Eggwich Deluxe. Hopped into Posh Bagel not to a get a bagel but to get some milk tea. The service was super duper friendly here and I can see why they have a loyal following. I got my regular milk tea with boba. I was fortunate to get a fresh batch of boba so I have that at a 5 on my scale of 1 to 10. The milk tea taste was just o.k. to me and for me at least could have been a little bit more sweeter. Cumulatively I have them at 4/5 and have ranked them appropriately in my rankings below. The banana nut muffin though...was amazing. I typically don't do muffins, bagels etc b/c of the carbs but once again I got a fresh batch and it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend trying this if you're a banana nut bread fan. It is not a go out of the way for place, but it is a good place to stop in and rest after walking/touring around the Embarcadero - while at the same time grabbing a coffee, pastries, variety of sandwiches (hot or cold), even "pizza" bagels. A bottle of Naked Juice was $2.80 IIRC. The area is within Embarcadero4, across from the Ferry Building. Boba tea review: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king. The rumor was the bubble tea was "good" here. I didn't expect much but it might just be good enough to fill the void in this area of the city for boba addicts who are limited by walking and can only take a short break during the workday. Its a desperate situation to which Posh Bagel takes advantage. The menu was naturally limited being mainly purveyor of bagel sandwiches and they only had the more basic teas and flavors. I was surprised at how soft the bobas were which I took to mean they were fresh. I asked for less sweet, less boba and less ice and they complied. I should have known the sandwich won't be up to snuff since the lady didn't even bother to heat up that conveyor belt oven before she dumped my sandwich in there. Any self respecting Quizno's patron knows that that oven has to be on all day in order to get a perfectly heated sandwich. My chicken came out stone cold and the bagel was not heated (it was mushy). Popped by here at around 12:45 PM just yesterday (Thursday). My friend, JQ, who also works in the city, and I have been friends since high school. Now as adults, we're partners in stuffing our faces. Last week she mentioned Posh Bagel and when I looked it up on Yelp, I noticed that there were quite a few locations. At first she suggested the one on Sutter and I was 100% behind it until I looked closely at the little main picture for this location at 4 Embarcadero. Is. That. BOBA?!!! Further investigation through the photos uploaded for this location confirmed that that was so. And that's why we ended up here yesterday. :) She got: Cinnamon Sugar Cronot (no filling) + Taro Boba Milk Tea I got: Chocolate Sugar Cronot (no filling) + Plain Boba Milk Tea The only other cronot I've ever had was from Paris Baguette, and from what I remember, it was way greasy. Posh's, on the other hand, was not! I'm a huge chocoholic, but even I have to admit that between the Cinnamon Sugar and the Chocolate, well, points go to Cinnamon Sugar. The chocolate was the kind you'd find on a regular donut. But this is a CROnot people! Yeah. It's fine on a donut, but the cronot has a different overall texture and the two... didn't mesh. JQ and I didn't have a problem placing our orders or finding a table. This location has vegan donuts!! Enough said, right? They are delicious cake donuts in a few flavors - chocolate, blueberry, maple, cherry and strawberry. They are not too dense with little air pockets and not too much frosting. I'm drooling just thinking about it. One star for affordability too - they come in at a very reasonable $1.25 each, which is super cheap compared to Pepple's in the Ferry Building. These are no frills, but they do the trick if you need a sweet fix. Their bagels are also delicious and they have toppings like peanut butter or hummus instead of cream cheese. Their cut strawberries deserve a shout out too, which seems weird, but you can tell they're cut by hand and not some gross fruit salad. Worth a star in my book. read more

Hands down my favorite bagel place which says something given that I live in DC. Any time I find myself in SF I make it a point to stop in at least once. Bagels are super fresh and have a nice texture (soft inside, crispy outside). Pricing isn't too bad either and it's evidently family owned in that over the last two years, I've only ever seen the same 2-3 folks there. went there this morning for a cheddar jalapeno eggs and sausage with cheddar sandwich and also order an avocado shake with it since i read reviews that it was " best shake they've ever had." Honestly, I've had better! The sausage patty was so small I thought she forgot to put it. The egg had NO FLAVOR at all. Ill give them the bagels tho it was fresh and soft. The price is kinda pricey not sure if its worth it. on to the avocado shake. WORST SHAKE IVE EVER HAD!! I've had my fair share of avocado shakes! I not sure if they used old avocados or she didn't add condense milk or just plain milk at all, but it didnt taste right. it was darker green too which isnt the right color for avocado shakes it should be a lighter green. another 5-6 dollars wasted. By afternoon this place is pretty well cleaned out. My first stop was after 3 and they didn't have any sesame bagels. Stopped by before 10 in the morning, and they had plenty. The sesame bagels are excellent. Very soft and chewy. Much better than Noah's. I freeze my extra bagels immediately upon getting them home so that they are fresh whenever I want one. My granddaughter enjoyed chewing on one from the freezer while we were driving around in the car, between her meals. Very fresh. Service was fine at this location.
