The only thing better than my sandwich is the staff! I ordered the Ruben and it was possibly the best Ruben I've had! So good that I had to let everyone know :) the bread was perfectly toasted & the sandwich overall was filling but light! I ate it all (which is rare for me, I usually can only finish half) but that's how good is was! I also had the Lemonade with "light" ice and it was perfectly balanced, not too sweet nor too tart! Definitely will be back to try other items on the menu!

My friends and I stumbled into this place hungry af. They recommended some delicious sandwiches. Honestly best pastrami I've ever had. And great chip options to accompany the food. The staff had amazing energy, overall such a dope vibe. Highly recommend if you're wanting a satisfying meal with excellent customer service. I'm a Nosher now! I'll stop by anytime I'm in the area now. Ps. I was so captivated by the food and energy of this place that i forgot to take a picture of the food.

Horrible service, place and food. Definitely would not recommend, you pay extra for the darn cheese and they don't put any on. This is the most blandest, messiest, driest, thing put together. I want a refund can't even eat this mess!

Just stopped in for a late lunch last week, the place was empty! With a capital E! I ordered the Claytonian sandwich and a side of potato salad with a Dr. Browns celray. Perfection. I started chatting with the ladies behind the counter. They are seriously concerned for the business. Since all of the office buildings across the street are empty, they are really struggling! While I was there 1 guy came in to pick up a Grub hub order. No one else. My lunch was great as always!!! So if out and about, stop in and give these guys some business!

I am eating a Pastrami sandwich. .the review coming soon.

The Posh Nosh, on my first go around I used a coupon and thought boy, if I had to pay full prices for the sandwiches with the amount of meat they give, I don't think I would eat here much. Well turns out they send you coupons on the regular and always have a deal, so you got to eat there now for the fresh wholesome sandwiches they serve. You just may have to get two! Honestly, I am a greedy guy, who always looks for taste, and value in my meals. They have the taste in the sandwiches and with a coupon they have value. I can say nothing wrong about the customer service here, they are good people, good staff all the way around. The appearance of the food is nice, I see it and it makes me want more...the longer I am in there, the more I want to eat, perhaps if I could get a bigger sandwich :) I guess, I am used to other sandwich shops pilling on a bit more meat than they do here, but like I said with a coupon, it seems to be a decent enough deal, besides I shouldn't eat so much. The taste of the food was very good, they know what they are doing, I plan to go back and try more sandwiches. It has been awhile since I was there, but I believe I had the club sandwich, and it was delicious. You are not going to get full unless you add something with it...well I take that back if you are a big eater like me you want get full without adding more items to your sandwich, like dessert and chips. I notice they have breakfast foods and salads, even gluten free but they upcharge you $1 for that. I think they had chili and a few other menu items if I recall. You can't go wrong with this nice little sandwich shop, after this review I can't wait to get back there, I have to add them to my list of places to visit again soon.

    Adorable little alley of tables.

What a great Reuben! It wasn't piled high Dagwood style, thank goodness, because I like to eat my sandwich without trying to figure out how to actually put it in my mouth. I have craved this sandwich since I have had it here. I am planning to return! I had the lobster bisque soup, of which was just OK. Nothing I felt I had to get again. TLDR: We loved their Reuben sandwich ($8.50.) There is parking in the back. There is adorable seating outside between the building and next door.

I came here for the first time, wanting a sandwich and wanting to try a new spot. I was greeted as soon as I entered. Very quaint establishment: I KNOW the name of the place says "grocer", but I was still under the impression that this was a sandwich shop and it's not. Blame my hunger, ok??? It is a grocery store, and a small one at that. I head to the back to the deli and the butcher was super helpful with answering ALL my questions. Learned more about how everything works and more. All sandwiches are pre made and once they sell out, they're gone. There was a turkey sandwich and a roast beef one left. I opted for the turkey sandwich, asked for a side of remoulade sauce that's originally used for the shrimp po boy I believe. I bought a bag of chips to go with it. Total was about $15. The sandwich was delicious. LOADED with turkey and arugula it had a dill spread on it, and it was also sooo good. the remoulade helped give it more flavor and kick. All I needed was some onion slices (tear) I will definitely be back.

Still need to try the roast beef sandwich and the cheesecake.

This was so good; we came here the whole week we were in St. Louis for lunch! The office I was working in was on the same block as Pastaria Deli & Wine, so a less than five-minute walk from the office, so no driving or need to hail an Uber was awesome. Inside there are wine bottles all over the walls and it just has this cozy, Italian café/deli vibe. Depending on when you get there, the line to the cash register can snake out the door, but it moves pretty fast. There's a surprising number of tables inside and since the weather was nice, there were several tables out in front. Each day, we had the same cashier, Carly (I believe that's her name). Carly was incredibly bubbly, cute, fun! Once we placed our order, we received a metal tag with a number on it and found a table. I didn't order any sort of specialty drink; I took advantage of the free water located near the back of the restaurant. The time from when we placed our order to getting our lunch was pretty quick, even when the place was packed for lunch. So for the three days I was in St. Louis, I ordered these three sandwiches: 1. Il Capo Italiano: Lemon ricotta, mortadella, soppressata, mozzarella, giardiniera, salted potato chips (Miss Vickie's most likely), arugula, red wine vinegar, & extra virgin olive oil on a 6.5" Union Loafers Hoagie - A jam-packed sandwich! The lemon ricotta was amazing and the crunch from the salted potato chips was excellent. Beware that this sandwich is heavy on the oils, so be prepared to "wear" this sandwich the rest of the day unless you brought your toothbrush. haha This sandwich was plenty thick, the slices of mozzarella really helped to make this sandwich thick and filling. 2. Volpi Heritage Prosciutto: Volpi Heritage prosciutto, butter, lemon olive oil, & house-made giardiniera on a 6.5" Union Loafers Hoagie - The lemon olive oil was a very pleasant flavor, not too strong. Of the three sandwiches I ordered, this was the smallest in terms of fillings but it was still plenty filling for lunch with a bag of Miss Vicky's Spicy Dill Pickle chips! 3. Chicken Bacon Ranch: Thin sliced chicken breast, bacon, smoked cheddar cheese, tomato, arugula, banana peppers, & jalapeno-ricotta ranch on a 6.5" Union Loafers Hoagie - The sliced chicken breast was piled on thick and the bacon was a welcome addition. There was plenty arugula and banana peppers inside but the jalapeno-ricotta ranch elevated this! Creamy with a slight spicy kick to it. I didn't have one bad meal here and for the quality and quantity, I felt the prices were pretty reasonable, especially in the year 2026. Pastaria Deli & Wine is an awesome lunch spot! The friendly staff, cool, authentic Italian-vibes, fast service, and the quality food, it comes together here! I can't wait to come back through St. Louis for work and stop in here again for lunch, maybe I'll even treat myself to some of their gelato!

Even the coke from the can was fresh & delish. Would def come back!

Since this place is such a staple, we figured we had to give it a try. The place was absolutely packed, which clearly shows it's a local favorite. Even with how busy they were, our pickup order was ready on time -- actually before the scheduled pickup since I arrived about five minutes early. The atmosphere definitely had that classic local sandwich shack vibe and seemed like it would make a great casual lunch spot for almost any occasion. Unfortunately, the food itself just didn't live up to the reputation for us. We ordered the hot salami sandwiches, which they're known for, but they were extremely greasy and the only flavors that really stood out were mustard and grease. We expected a lot more flavor and balance considering it's their specialty item. We also placed a large luncheon order of 10 sandwiches. Everyone was satisfied overall and the food was decent enough, but nothing really stood out or made us excited to come back. We personally prefer Adriana's for both flavor and overall quality. One of the biggest disappointments was that none of the sandwiches had cheese on them, even though we paid an extra $2 per sandwich for the garlic cheese bread upgrade. That was frustrating considering the additional charge. Honestly, I'm guessing we may have just caught them on an off day because it's obvious this spot has a loyal following. We still appreciate supporting local STL businesses and can understand why so many people love it -- it just wasn't quite the experience we were expecting.
