One of the best meals I've had in a while for the price. So tired of high cost food being either mediocre or just not that good. This review is based solely on the food, as I'm pregnant and out of the coffee market for the time being. My sandwich was crunchy... very crunchy. And small, overpriced and underwhelming. They called it the dill something? Basically a grilled cheese with tomatoes and pickles. Creativity of the menu items is exceptional. Execution, not so much. Not sure why the bread is so darned crusty. Maybe it's a hipster thing? Yes, all the staff are on the hipster millennial bandwagon. Much of the clientele was gen Z. Aesthetics are nice. They have several bottled drinks, but strangely enough they don't offer bottled water. Just a communal flavored water station. Cleaned up my table when I was finished dining, and passed several staff members on my way around the cafe looking for the dump tray. They sure do like to stand around and chill while on the clock. The place was very busy, but I can't imagine they have much repeat clientele. Probably just a great location and some name recognition from the spot in Pleasanton. I certainly won't go out of my way to come back. read more

We were on an early morning trip to Yosemite and decided to stop for breakfast. Based on the 4.5 stars on Yelp we decided to give The Press a try - and boy are we glad we did! This place totally deserves the high ratings it gets. The staff is super nice, the outdoor seating is great with early morning sunshine to help start the day, and the food is way above what you'll find in other breakfast spots, both in quality and presentation. We ordered the avocado and egg toast, the avocado-citrus-goat cheese toast, the beet root-goat cheese-arugula panini, the chia seed pudding and the dill pickle and cream cheese toast. All were beyond excellent! And so well presented also, as you can see on the photos. In the middle of our feast, for good measure we grabbed a bread pudding muffin, intended 'for the road'...but it didn't make it to the car, we just couldn't wait to try it! We will definitely be back next time we are in the Livermore area! read more

If you are looking for good coffee this is the spot. The baristas are highly trained and do a great job at crafting a great up of coffee for you. Beautiful latte art and the taste is spot on. So excited to see The Press open for business on 1st Street. I love the Pleasanton location but do not like the lack of seating. Livermore was busy but people were moving through. My daughter got the Turkey/Brie/Pesto Panini and I got the Turkey/ Cranberry/Brie Panini and we traded 1/2 sandwiches for variety. Line moved quickly, seating and waiting a bit long. Staff attentive. Please keep an eye out for customers spreading over multiple tables. One family took up part of a communal table and set their kids at a 2 person too when there was plenty of room at the communal. The Paninis were crisp on the outside, heated through to allow a good melt on the cheese, flavors melded very well. The side salads offer a variety of greens and are a great compliment to the Paninis. read more

This is one of the best breakfast/ lunch spots in Livermore. You may find long lines,, but they are efficient at getting you seated. The menu is unique with flavorful creations and the presentation of their food is almost too pretty to eat. The service is always above and beyond. We have been coming here since it opened and have never been disappointed. If you're coming for their bakery I items, come early since they sell out fast. read more

First time here and being a Saturday, they offer brunch items that aren't available during the week. I had their take on eggs Benedict and it was simply unbelievable. Super fresh ingredients and great presentation. My wife had the avocado toast which she said was incredible too. The staff was SO friendly and helpful on our first visit, we'll definitely be returning. We couldn't recommend this place more. read more

Having been to The Press Pleasanton, and craving brunch on a Sunday, a day when they don't open, I was excited to see there's another location in Livermore.. Oh how misplaced was my excitement. Placed the online order on their website and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes which is exactly the time to drive there so I thought this was perfect (ha!). I reached and called to set up curbside pick up and they confirmed the order and told me they'd bring it out to my car. As I waited and saw other people get their order I thought its just busy so taking longer. After 10 minutes I call them and then the person on the phone is like "we don't have your order"!? How did the first person confirm that they receieved the order then?! Fine, they'll prepare it now and I have to wait another 15 minutes. After 15 minutes and no food, I park the car and go to the door and they said they don't have my order (ffs!). After 3 different people came up and asked for my name, finally they magically find my order. No apologies. After having waited for more than 30 minutes i finally get my food, drive the 14 mins back home and open the box to find cold food. So annoying. The food is good, but the service is terrible. If I'm ever hungry and crazy enough to go to this restaurant, I'd just visit Pleasanton location and make sure to order f2f and also ask for an update every 5 minutes. read more

We just had lunch there and must say the food was very tasty and different in a good way. We had the smoke turkey Reuben and the smoked turkey pesto and both were great. I would have preferred the traditional panini but the way it was done here was OK. The side salad which came with the meal was very good with a great dressing. The only drawbacks I would note was that it is very noisy inside and difficult to have a nice conversation. Great place for a fast and tasty lunch. read more

Never had any issues with this place until today! Food here is great and the customer service is always amazing but today's experience was very frustrating! Both my friend and I ordered around 12:15 (she ordered on grub hub and then I ordered off their website). After we arrived around 12:30 (when our food was suppose to be ready) we were hastily greeted by a young woman who asked for my friends name. After letting her know I ordered too she brought mine out in 2 mins and then we proceeded to wait another 30 mins for my friends order. No apology just "it's coming out, we were working on it" and had to ask, not offered, for water that we had to wait 15 minutes for.... upset is an understatement. As someone who works in the food industry, I can understand the busy life that comes with working in a restaurant. But your customer service is always vital, that's a big part of establishing a regular customer base and getting people to return and enjoy your establishment. Dealing with what we experienced today made two regulars not want to come back, do better! read more

Love this place. It's become our go to group brunch spot. Employees are friendly and it's also pet friendly on the patio seating. We've pretty much tried everything on the menu and haven't had anything we didn't like. Kids love picking from the bakery display for a treat. Wish they were open longer. Also if you go on the weekend go early or be prepared to possibly wait for a table. Nothing horrible but don't wait until you're starving to get there. read more

I decided to stop in this cute coffee shop, very cute and quaint. It was my birthday and I figured I would stop in for a coffee and toast that everyone kept raving about. After getting a coffee and toast- it was around $12 dollars... the toast was ok, nothing too amazing and coffee was pretty small for a large. I used to live in sf and pay those prices for food, but this is Livermore- ha. Probably not going back again. Cute little place, and if you don't mind paying an arm and a leg for toast- go for it! So glad they opened a Livermore location! We've been to The Press many times in Pleasanton, and this one is just as reliable and delicious as its predecessor. The paninis are the perfect size to fill you up but not make you feel bombed with too much bread. The tomato soup is my favorite--perfectly balanced and perfect for dipping a panini in! I also LOVE their coffee drinks (they use Chromatic coffee). My family has not had one thing at The Press that wasn't delicious! Keep up the great work, guys! :) read more

This place is THE BEST! Amazing food, amazing service (which I find is hard to come by around the Bay Area) and really wonderful atmosphere! My favorite thing to get is avo toast and a cup of coffee (with free refills!) but they have so many delicious breakfast and lunch options. I've never been to the Pleasanton location, but I am glad we have one now here in Livermore! I got the turkey/avocado/pesto Sammie, which was really delicious. I was thrilled to hear that The Press was coming to Livermore since we enjoyed some great breakfasts at their Pleasanton location. So, today I invited a couple friends to join me for lunch. I grew up in Livermore and always felt we were in need of a good breakfast place as well as a restaurant that served fresh sandwiches and salads for lunch. Ofelia's Kitchen and Panera do a good job for lunch, but The Press knocks it out of the park when it comes to both breakfast and lunch offerings. Their success is due to their use of fresh, quality ingredients (Acme Pain Au Levain bread!!), unique menu items, decent prices and efficient service. The little touches like the unexpected sliced strawberry used to garnish the garden salad and water infused with fresh cranberries and sliced citrus fruit really make this place special. The coddled eggs and cheese grits are to die for and don't forget their paninis and soup for lunch. My lunch guest's only suggestion was that they cut the delicious levain bread in thicker slices especially for the paninis - can't get enough of a good thing! Livermore residents are so lucky a modern restaurant like The Press has come to town!! read more
