This place used to be great; food, service, the whole nine yards -- fantastic. A clear change in management has ruined this gem. Kids who work there now have no idea what they are doing, and the food has suffered as well. After having an undercooked shrimp some months back I ceased going entirely. Well last night I decided to order a pizza and chicken Caesar salad to go, to see if anything had changed. The young person who took my order was completely unprofessional, and I knew right off the bat I might have made a mistake. Ordering my pizza I explicitly indicated I wanted FRESH BASIL on top and not basil pesto as a sauce. I repeated myself three or four times to make sure. We just ate here and were very disappointed. My steak was not cooked well and was gamey. We have eaten here before and were not happy. We came back because we like to support locally owned and operated establishmentsThis however will be our last visit. The pizza is good. We had martini's but not in martini glasses because they break too easily and they only had three. I've dined at Red Brick on several different occasions, all of which have been fantastic experiences, except for my experience last night. It appeared that they were short staffed and I would have been okay with the terrible service if the waitress had informed us of being short handed upfront, but she didn't. We had to walk to the bar on two occasions to get our beverages since the waitress failed to do so herself. My grandfather ordered soup and salad and added beef tenderloin to his salad (an additional $9) and I ordered grilled salmon with green beans. After waiting over an hour for food, a couple of us were greatly disappointed. When his salad came out it looked as if there was ground beef on his salad, it was shocking. The manager came over and explained that the tenderloin for the salad is the same cut that is used on their pizza (aka its diced into tiny pieces). I've never seen tenderloin presented in such a manner, it definitely wasn't $9 worth either. The manager did apologize and took off his meal. My dish was another story. The piece of salmon I received was incredibly overcooked and dry and the same size as my grandmother's who added salmon to her salad for an additional $8. My meal was $19 and if I would have known the piece would be the same size as a salad topper, I never would have ordered it. Mind you, I have ordered this dish a couple of times before and received a beautifully cooked huge fillet of salmon, I'm not sure what was going on that night. I left feeling unsatisfied with our experience. I truly do love this restaurant and will be back, but it's going to take some time to give this place another shot. read more

Nice little place. It's hard to find a good selection of craft beer in this area so it is a shoe in for me when I am in Conroe. Plus the food is awesome. They have about 12 beers all on tap so a little limited compared to other craft beer spots in Houston but all the beers touch on each style so they have something for everyone's taste. The pizza is always a great choice but they have other good food to choose from. If you are in the area stop by for a quick drink you won't be disappointed especially if you are in Conroe it is as good as you will find. read more

Visited for dinner and we were very please with service and food and thought this might be a favorite new restaurant for us. We went there for lunch in January 2018 and were extremely disappointed. My husband ordered the beef tenderloin sliders and they were little bits of beef totally overcooked and looked nothing like a piece of beef tenderloin. We did mention to the waiter that we were disappointed and why, he then left talked to the chef and was told that it was the tip of the tenderloin which did not make any sense the way it was served... cutting up the beef into less than 1 inch pieces and cooking it until so touch you could not chew it.. definitely not the way to serve or advertise beef tenderloin!! The chicken club with bacon had small pieces of bacon not even crisp on the sandwich totally unedible. Although the waiter was very attentive and could see we were not happy, we were willing to talk to the MOD but were told there was none during the day and that the chef was the MOD during the day.. so much for that. the 3 stars is only for the service as the food at lunch was unedible and we did enjoy it nor eat it and someone should have been able to talk to us to either comp the lunch or give us some consideration. I recently had lunch at this newly opened tavern in downtown Conroe. I ordered the fish tacos (a lifetime favorite of mine) and I can honestly say they were the best fish tacos I have ever eaten!! My friend had the cornbread which was a huge serving and soooo good! I have heard from others that the pizza here is especially great, so will go again and try it. The decor is very nice, the staff and waitress were very attentive. It's a place to visit often for great food! I recommend it. Conroe needs a place like this! read more

This place ALWAYS has terrible service. Tonight was no exception. This was our 6th time to eat at Red Brick Tavern and the service was very disappointing. When we arrived the hostess was very condescending and tried to make us leave before we were ready because she needed to turn the table. This is a place that if you are not a regular you are not served appropriately. We kept going back because the food was great but because of the rude treatment we will not be back. First time there, but I had heard a lot about it and was excited to try it out. I looked them up and saw that they did not except reservations, so we got there around 5:50 PM to ensure we'd have time to enjoy a nice meal before an 8 o'clock show at the Crighton next-door. Upon checking in we were told there was a wait of about 15 to 20 minutes. We took a stroll around the neighborhood and came back to check back in around 6:10. No luck. We kept strolling and coming back to no avail. At one point we were told we were the next two-top but when they came out looking for a different party of two I went in and asked if they meant to say my name. The hostess explained to me that the party she had just called for was a call-in, meaning it was a group that had called in and put their name on the list before actually arriving. I explained I thought they didn't accept reservations or I would have made one, and she said that they don't, but folks can call ahead up to an hour. THAT IS, IN FACT, A RESERVATION! I really feel they need to prioritize the people who are ACTUALLY THERE or else just simply accept reservations. We didn't get seated until almost 7pm, at which point we had to order and eat quickly. I wish they had been more forthcoming about the length of the wait, but they were determined to make people hang on. Our table was in the bar area and was so small it could barely hold our meals and drinks (it doesn't help that the meals are on separate plates from the sides- they should combine the plates.) Even though we had to eat incredibly quickly and our experience up to that point hadn't been stellar, I was still very hopeful that the food would be it's own reward and make everything worth it. I ordered the fish tacos. They were very good. They came with a side of sweet potato fries which were cold and soggy upon arriving at the table. Our other order was the red brick oven chicken, which was so dry he couldn't eat it. We wound up asking for a side of barbecue sauce to pour all over it to make it "swallowable", but even that didn't help. When the waiter came to take our plates and the chicken was almost entirely remaining, I nicely let him know that it was very dry, just for his information. I knew by the vibe of the place nothing would be comped but was surprised that he just said "ok" and nothing more. Other than the hostess, who was very nice in the middle of a difficult night and went out of her way to accommodate numerous customers, the service was bad (including the manager.) He blew us off- probably because we were only 2 people. Seemed to give better service to larger parties. At the end of the night, we spent about $50 on the two entrees (one was inedible), a root beer and an iced tea. I have no issues spending money on a good meal/ dining experience, but this didn't qualify for me. Not even close. At least the play was great! read more

Egg Nogtini- perfect on a chilly day. The service is outstanding, engaging and friendly. I like the presentation of the ceasar salad and dressing on the side without asking and fried corn bread croutons were a treat. The french onion soup for once was not loaded with bouilion cubes. I went for lunch with my 16 year old daughter and will absolutely be back. It's not your average tavern pub food, I was so happy to see effort put into the meal. Went to this place for lunch around 2:00 so staff was a little distracted ~ I had to ask for silverware & napkins. I was not encouraged but then the food came. Beef vegetable soup was surprisingly hearty and quite good. Ordered the chicken ceasar salad which was beautifully constructed and had these sweet cornbread croutons which were unexpected but delicious ! By the time I left this place I was laughing with the staff and complimenting their place. I will go back to try the pizza. Highly recommend. read more

Surprisingly good food. I read reviews prior to going and was somewhat skeptical. I had the pistachio encrusted chicken. Wow it was delicious. The sauce was very good. My only complaint, and it really is minor is that my potatoes were not as warm/hot as I would have liked. I could have said something to our waitress but we were having a very good conversation and just wanted to finish. Just as we finished our desert the live music began. Pretty good musicians. Slow service, over priced for the quality of food, cover charge after 9:00 when the band comes on, regardless of whether you ate dinner before and snooty service once they get to you. This is Conroe, not Manhatton so what gives. This establishment could use a little dose of customer service 101 and lower their prices. We've tried this place 3 times thinking it will get better and it only gets worse. Just got home. Saturday night at 10. They kept telling our party of 6 we were going to have to pay a cover of $10. $60 Tab the bar to start. $200 tab at our table. We sat down at 9pm. At 10:30 we were finished and just hanging out. Closed out dinner tab. One guy orders a beer and gets told he's going to be charged $10 cover. There is no one coming into the restaurant. We are all about to order another round of drinks. Waiter comes over and tells us that if we don't leave "right now" we will be charged $10 per person cover. We all got up and left. No one was waiting. No one was outside coming in. Plenty of open tables. We would have stayed continuing to have drinks. They kicked us out and lost business because they wanted a cover. What a joke. There are other places to go and I will probably never go back. read more

Had no idea this place was in Conroe until I found it on Yelp. They just changed their menu at the end of January and added a number of new items. We've tried the pizza, burgers and meatloaf sandwiches - all were very good. They also have a good selection of local craft beers on tap. read more

My wife and I ate there today, and the food was ok. We had an issue and ask to speak with the manager. The manager came over didn't introduce herself nor asked us our names. When I explained what was wrong she replied sorry and walked away. Very unprofessional and rude along with the waitress. The money spent and the service received was not worth our time and money. We would have received better service and Pizza and Pizza Hut. I suggest to find another place to spend your money at. read more

BBQ meatloaf was awful!! It looked and tasted like it came out of a can. The burgers were bland and tasted frozen. The regular and sweet potato fries were decent and the staff was very friendly, but not nearly good enough for a return visit. There was even a $5 cover charge on Friday night for some live entertainment. I'm not sure why this place has good ratings. Maybe it's for the liquor and/or live entertainment, but it's definitely not for the food! read more
