Woodlands Salmon, asparagus and jalapeño bacon Mac and cheese
April K.

Another amazing dinner at my favorite restaurant! My Grey Goose martini with blue cheese stuffed olives was great. The Woodlands Salmon was cooked to perfection along with the asparagus (I saved the jalepeno bacon Mac for a later indulgence). The service was excellent. I can't say enough about the Republic Grill locations up here!

Wedge Salad, very shareable and delicious

Yes yes yes! Only a few minor discrepancies for our visit. Smoked wings were just okay and service was a bit slow. Everything else was a hit from the kitchen & bar. Drinks - old fashioned had 2 and they tasted amazing, not too sweet and still taste the whiskey...it also did have me staying a little longer to allow the buzz to wear off. Food Wedge Salad - big enough for us 4 to share, loved it, not sure why so many restaurants don't serve this salad, one of my favorites and pretty simple. Gumbo - meaty and very good Smoked wings - lacked a little flavor Flounders were both great - prefer the blackened one, though it did come on the small side, you can't tell from under the seafood sauce. Sides enjoyed both green beans and mac.

We were looking for somewhere to eat in the Spring area and we decided to check this restaurant out. The parking is free and the restaurant is nice. They have a patio area but it was too cold to eat outside. We came at a great time because we were seated immediately, without a reservation, and then it got crowded. The host was good and explained today's special to us before our waiter came. We started with the Chips & Queso with ground beef and it was AMAZING and had a nice kick to it! I had the Shrimp and Grits and added crawfish to it. It was too bland for my liking even after adding salt and pepper. My husband had the fish and chips and it was good. For dessert, we had the bread pudding and it was good. We tried two cocktails each and they were all great! Our waiter, Ben, was amazing, and the manager stopped by to see how everything went. Overall, it was a good experience.

Can't believe I haven't left a review yet!! This is our regular place for Friday night dinner!!! The staff is attentive and friendly! I don't think you can go wrong with anyone here... Adam, Craig, Ed, Colin, Katie, Carson, just to name a few! Service is always on point here, as is the food! My favorite is the TRG Top Chop with the cornbread and broccoli!!! Do yourself a favor and dine here!!! You won't be disappointed!!!

Took my friend out for lunch to celebrate her recent engagement & she chose here. We started off with a bottle of Prosecco. It was probably one of my favorites and the only thing I enjoyed here. We shared the wings and they were decent. I had the chicken fried chicken with the bacon jalapeño mac and cheese, & broccoli. The chicken could've had some more flavor in my opinion. My friend said she enjoyed her pork chop though. We shared the tres leches - it could've been a bit more moist and soaked in leche. I'm all for giving restaurants a second chance so I may come back but not in the near future.

Went here to celebrate a birthday. Staff was super friendly and the food was delicious!

Went here for a girls meet up, just a walk in. One of my friend's first time going here. Wait was about 30 mins to sit inside so we opt to sit outside. Although it was raining it's covered so we were fine with sitting outside. We waited for about 10-15 mins for us to get a waiter. Our waitress was Tia, she wasn't very friendly or engaging when taking our order. she was very direct and to the point. Anyhow I got the Caprese as I've gotten before, it was fresh and delicious. Also got the jumbo wings but they were not fully done and the dipping sauce wasn't tasting like anything at all. We all had the wings and had the same sentiments on the taste and how it was done. I've been here before and had the same exact meal so hence why I got it again and I was dissatisfied. Also the music for outdoors was so loud we had a hard time hearing ourselves while conversing. I did say I'd come back here after my first experience but now I'm iffy.

Chicken fried steak was more breading than steak

Whether it is brunch, lunch, or dinner--Bosscat excels in their innovation towards cuisine & drinks alike! Their brussel sprouts and buffalo dip are two classics that I highly recommend. Their dinner options are big enough to share so be cognizant of that. My husbands boss put is on to this place and let's just say, we LOVE LOVE IT HERE--never a dull or bad moment! Service: 100/10 Ambiance: look at the photos? It's obvious! Food: Too good for numbers!!

DJ was spinning tunes inside but we opted for outdoor seating on their covered patio as it was a nice day. I gotta say I had some trepidation given our CM's earlier experiences here. But everything turned out just fine on our visit. First off I love that everything on the menu is under $20. That means we can order more. I was a bit worried that out steak and eggs would be tough because I ordered it medium rare and it came out more medium well. It's even cut already so they should've been able to tell how well done it was. But it was still tender which is actually all I really cared about. The Holy Smoked Benedict is not your traditional eggs Benedict. Instead of ham they have slices of pork belly. And it's served on a crispy biscuit (I could taste the crunch) with potatoes with a poached egg on top just like a regular Benedict. My only comment would be a little too many potatoes for my particular liking, but you can just brush them off. With the money we saved we got the beignets. They come in a sack of 5 and with a Meyer lemon curd on top side for dipping that has a dollop of melted marshmallow cream on top. They aren't traditional beignets but are really small biscuits. They tasted hot and fresh, and were nice and fluffy regardless, which again is all I really cared about. Cold water comes in an old whisky bottle and is left at your table so you can pour as much as you want when you want. I really wish more restaurants did this. The place is also now on the InKind app so make sure you sign in and pay with the app if you do that kind of stuff. InKind is free and has occasional offers that make dining even more affordable.

A Saturday night well spent at the Yard House Bar!…read more Braylon & Scott are great bartenders. They made sure we were always well taken care of. The food is phenomenal, as always. I ordered the smaller portion of the BBQ chicken salad and I still felt like it was huge. I had to have my husband help finish it! The spinach dip is some of the best we've tried and that's saying a lot as this is usually our go to appetizer for most places. I'm not a tuna fan, so I didn't try my husband's meal, but he was happy with it. This is one of our favorite restaurants in the area to just come and chill at the bar. It's very spacious and the restaurant has such a cool vibe. I've never had anything to eat here that I didn't like. Their drink selection is vast, especially if you're into beer. They have Angry Orchard on draft (my favorite) and that's hard to find in a restaurant. This is a great place to grab a drink before going out for the night, but it's also a great place to be your sole destination!

Now their brochure tout big portion sizes is their hallmark and their credo #4 says you should be saying "wow" when you get your food. So I got the biggest plate I could find to test that theory. And what bigger plate than the "Bigfoot" chicken fried steak. They were right I did say wow. Just not the amazing wow but more like the disappointment wow. I mean, the size was meh. Definitely seen bigger in many (most) other places. If you tout a name like Bigfoot you gotta make sure it's huge i would've thunk. The menu says "smothered" in gravy. The gravy didn't even reach the edges of the steak. More like a dab. The credit #4 says they buy huge platters for a reason. Well, even the platter looks more like a regular size "plate" that my knife could almost fit across. Definitely nothing impressive. And the sides ... meh. The mashed potatoes is just like one scoop. Again I've seen much bigger elsewhere. And the bad part was it wasn't even hot. The onion rings tasted pretty good though and were hot. The soup that is supposed to come with the dish never came. It was tomato soup. So I eventually asked the waiter and he brought it out after our meal was done. I thought he'd also bring out with the soup the cornbread muffin that the menu says is supposed to come with this dish. So I asked the waiter and he said customers usually tell him if they want the muffin, otherwise he doesn't bring it. So I guess it was my bad. Honestly I just hate it when they make it seem like you're the one to blame. When he brought one out it came in what looked like a plastic takeaway container minus the lid. Definitely Not winning any presentation points. Credo #3: "we cook everything to order, so it's going to take a little longer than the average bear (pun intended). I don't think the long wait was due to cooking these to order. They display some of their home made pies and cobblers. They looked interesting. So we tried a chocolate cream pie which has like Oreo crust. It was pretty good. But tbh I think house of pies does it better. And we had that just last week. Credo #5 didn't apply to us: "Nothing is worse than going away hungry from a restaurant. It won't happen at The Bear". Whelp, it did. Overall I thought it's an ok place. But we probably wouldn't go back. Their history is interesting based on what I was reading. Maybe they expanded too quick and should've kept it more local for quality control. I'd like to go back in time and visit the original Black Bear Diner in California where the owners were, just to see if it's really got that Cheers type vibe that I read about in their brochures while we waited for our food and if they really stand by their credos. And to the owner, please follow Credo #6: "we make this promise to you, our valued guest: We will read every single comment. We truly appreciate our guests taking the time to write to us. It helps us to determine if we are meeting your needs ...". If you really adhere to this, please don't send a canned response which I've seen used again and again asking to email you details and location. The details are all right here in the review. Both Words and photos. And the diner location is listed on the business page of Yelp. It'd be better just to not respond than to send a canned response that means nothing. It makes you look like you're trying to appear responsive but really aren't.
