We came to The Rooftop in Beverly Hills with a party of six, and my goodness we ordered so much food. Overall, I'd give this place four stars. The ambiance is beautiful, and the service FANTASTIC. Our server was an absolute gem, I am so sad I forgot it. The Roofop is the kind of spot that feels lively but still relaxed enough to enjoy a long dinner with friends. The food was good, though I've definitely had better for the price. Nothing was bad at all, just not quite as memorable as I expected. The drinks, however, were fantastic. I'm not much of a drinker, but I ordered a martini and it was absolutely delicious and perfectly made. Also, the coffee I happened to order a latte and no joke one of the top coffees I had. Lots of nice photo spots. I would love to come during the day and try their brunch. Between the vibe, the attentive service, and the great cocktails, we had a really fun night. I'd come back again, especially for drinks and the atmosphere.
HAD AN AMAZING TIME , at this beautiful place. Came for the views and aesthetics but left knowing I'm also coming back for the good service and delicious food. The view did not disappoint, but the food and service sure did. I organized a group (6) dinner on a Saturday night based on a decent lunch experience a few years ago. My guests were disappointed and I felt embarrassed. We were seated shortly after our reservation time. But once seated, no one came to greet us or asked if we needed anything ! We waited a long time (20 minutes at least) before a waitress showed up. She looked very stressed (I saw her rushing back and forth all night so I don't blame her at all) ; she quickly answered our questions and took our order. We first ordered a few cocktails, plus the bread and a guacamole for appetizers. Only four half pieces came with the bread and there were six of us - if I were the waiter I would have asked... or just add a couple more pieces. But the disappointment wasn't just the quantity- the bread was dry and hard! And the fact that it took so long - like 20 minute, to arrive. The guacamole was great - I'd recommend it for a large group. I recommended their lobster burger to my friends and two of them ordered it. Another two got the salmon. It was another 30 minutes before the food came. But both those two dishes seemed good - my guests confirmed. A vegan friend had a hard time finding something she could eat - there was the Greek salad (which was just okay) and the steak salad with tofu instead of beef. She did not eat much. My Double Burger was a disaster - the buns were so soggy that they fell apart on me. I had to drop the burger on the plate and eat it with fork. I have not been to a high end (about $100 per person here) restaurant with such poor service! Out of curiosity I looked around and no workers were smiling... the two assistants who poured water and collected dishes didn't seem happy; our waitress seemed stressed; and when we asked for a box, they didn't offer to box the food for us - they just handed us a box and left. Based on our experience this time, I think perhaps this restaurant should be in Restaurant : Impossible, or some other restaurant rescue show. All that said, this is, after all, the Waldorf. The passage from the entrance to the restaurant is beautiful! Just make sure you find the right elevator, which is to the right of the entrance. And the walkway leading to the restaurant has spectacular reviews of Beverly Hills, hence a great photo spot. Parking is valet only and at this writing is $22 if you tell them you went to the restaurant. Overall, a mixed experience with some pleasant views that disappointing service and food quality.
I've been twice, once with work and once for a birthday. Neither times was I impressed with the food. The view is really nice though, which I think is the main selling point of the restaurant. Some of the dishes I've tried: Shrimp pad Thai: do not get. It is basically a pasta (not your typical rice noodles) served with a "pad Thai" sauce, which also was a miss. Grilled octopus: get. One of the few dishes that I made sure to order on both my visits. Octopus is hard to cook right. They did an OK job, and im a big fan of octopus. Beef burger: not bad. Only get it if you are craving a burger. Lobster burger: it's just okay.. too pricey for what it actually tastes like. Hamachi: hard to miss Sashimi: hard to miss. Fish was fresh Tuna poke bowl: not much flavor. Too much rice. Shrimp lettuce wrap: I wish it wasn't breaded shrimp and just cooked instead. Dessert: maybe the best part of the menu. Get the Dubai chocolate and key lime pie. Valet parking available and they validate (not fully, you'll pay $15-$20). They are really strict about their time limit. The same man came to tell us our time was up on both my visits. I would have understood if I saw a line of people waiting but the place wasn't even completely full.
Located on top of the Waldorf Astoria, the views are absolutely beautiful and it's must go to location even for locals. The food on the other hand was a major disappointment for me and my guests. Everything seemed to lack flavor and just didn't taste good to us. Here's what we ordered... Kumamoto oysters: This was the best thing I ate Guacamole: Came with a few taro chips and vegetables (Guac was okay, but it just didn't go well with taro chips and veggies) Grilled Octopus: rubbery, not fresh Chicken schnitzel: No flavor whatsoever Lobster burger: Bland Red Thai Coconut curry: my guest said it was fine Service was great. Our waiter was attentive. I would come here again with overseas guests because the views are stunning. I will just order drinks and go somewhere else for dinner.
Incredible experience all around. I had the lobster burger--no filler, all flavor, thick and juicy on a perfect brioche bun. The truffle fries were a dream. My daughter and mom loved their chicken shawarma in pita pockets, stuffed to the brim and shared happily. Service was warm and attentive. The view was stunning and definitely a great photo op--grab a spot by the edge for the best skyline vibes. 9/10 recommend.
We came here for a birthday dinner for our friend. The view was breathtaking, ambience was cozy and elevated. Staff was warm and caring, however we didn't get a birthday candle with our dessert (to be fair we didn't ask for it but most places offer it when they know there's a birthday, a little entitled of us but still heartbreaking). Overall great experience would come back here for a date night to get the black pepper beef stir fry or to have a dessert with tea. Either way I would dress up for nice pictures and bring a jacket (the staff provides a blanket if you don't have a jacket, but can be windy). So refreshing to go to a restaurant in LA that is not just views but also quality! This place is now a classic to me!
Came here yesterday to celebrate my birthday. It was very busy for a Thursday. We arrived early to our reservation but were told they were backed up and we'd have to wait. Understandable but disappointing they couldn't accommodate. My boyfriend and I both ordered smash burgers. Our waiter told us it included lettuce and tomato, and when the burgers came, they were nowhere to be found. When we brought up the issue, the waiter was VERY defensive and denied ever saying it. Very weird considering lettuce and tomato are very low on the list of things that would make anyone upset. Anyway, we had some back and forth - which isn't what I expect at this kind of restaurant. I've been here dozens of times and the service is hit or miss but this interaction was very, very strange. Great views, good food, but service was just ok.
I love Waldorf rooftop, its my favorite Sunday brunch place. One of the best view in the entire los angeles, Their dishes are so yummy and flavorful, The service is pretty good however they can be slow at time.
Boujee rooftop bar with a beautiful view of LA! I visited this bar on a Saturday night, so it was nice seeing all of LA's lights from the top floor. The rooftop bar was spacious with bar and table seating. It was clean and there were heaters which provided great warmth since the bar area was located outdoors. The bathrooms were also nice. I ordered the lychee raspberry cocktail and it was pretty good! It was fruity and not too strong or weak with alcohol. I wish the fruit skewer on top was fresher though. Our server was pretty friendly, but it did feel rushed since they were trying to close the bar soon when we arrived. Overall, a good experience here and I would like to come back during the day and to try their foods.

There's no way the Rooftop would be less than five stars and five star service! My boyfriend and I went twice in 2024 and both experiences were like night and day because, we went once during a summer's day and once during a winter's night. Reservations are easily available through Opentable and parking is exclusively valet. Take the elevator to the top and go nuts looking at that view! Walk by that pool and Cabana...and get seated with a lovely view. For our daytime meal, he got a keto style salmon salad and I enjoyed my exquisite Benedict. Coffee and drinks were amazing, as was the service. For our nighttime double date, we noshed on some Guacamole with plantains before our meals. He had the Chicken Katsu as I got the Chicken Shwarma - served in pita breads presented like tacos! They were a bit dry, but I still enjoyed them. Last were sorbets which are amazing and don't disappoint! Try to make room for these before you go. And I know, I'll be back again!
This is actually my favorite place in Los Angeles as being somewhat of a native and being a sucker for a view and good food the two don't generally go together. It is the place that I can't wait to take out of town or family and friends. I do admire its view and the way that you can see so many different sides of Los Angeles. It makes me feel like I'm in heaven in heaven with the view and the food. I generally get the lobster burger, which is so juicy and flavorful and something different than I've ever had as I am a big fan of seafood my daughter elected for the mini burgers, which were so cute they were on this kids plate. LA is known for its weather and it's nice to be able to take in the ambience with excellent weather. There is a feeling that I felt back in the paparazzi days of Los Angeles and I get that feeling on that rooftop. Their hotel itself a huge masterpiece. I'm so happy to have the opportunity to dine and enjoy the city I love so much
We came to celebrate my cousins coming in from London and "Birthday" that we had missed during lockdowns. This place was a hit. Parking is 25$ with a reservation to the rooftop bar. The food and staff were excellent. Definitely a great date night or brunch with these gorgeous views. read more

Tomahawk Steak was tender, cooked perfect medium and enjoyed the nice Beverly Hills views and great music and vibe from the DJ. The Waldorf Astoria is the newest Beverly Hills hotel and this rooftop restaurant is one of a kind and great drinks. It's pricey but for obvious reasons. Hadn't seen my brother in a long time and our server was sweet and took our picture. read more

Are you: 1) Tired of driving through the hell hordes of infamous Los Angeles traffic to get a rooftop view in DTLA? 2) Looking for a rooftop view a little closer to the west side? 3) Rushing out of LAX with only a few hours until your flight and want to show your followers that you're a bougie B living it up on a rooftop in LA? If you said 'yes' to any of the 3 rooftop questions above, then you may be in luck! The Rooftop by JG offers those exact views! I plopped down, had the ginger margarita, a passion fruit whiskey fizz, and some light appetizers (see photos). Exquisite service, amazing views, but a bit overpriced on the food and drinks. If you're not looking to splurge, fear not, I did see a number of tourists who came up, took photos, and then went back down. All in all, a feel-good location for anyone who wants to impress or feel bougie for a few hours. read more

Came here for my Mother-in-law's 80th Birthday on a Saturday at 11:00AM and couldn't have asked for better weather! Parking is valet for $20. We had a reservation and we had a nice seat near the window with a bit of a view. However, we were sat next to a person who seemed to have been working (the continuous talking was a little distracting). The view, however, was really nice. I highly suggest to give yourself a few extra minutes to take some photos before your reservation. My mother-in-law got a really good Bloody Mary, I ended up getting a Rose Aperol Spritz, it was quite delish! Food wise... yum! LOBSTER BURGER $41 Gruyere Cheese, Green Chili Dressing: This was delicious! I was very curious how this was going to come out and I was pleasantly surprised how good this was! It has a little kick to it and had a really good amount of pieces of lobster. TRUFFLE CHEESEBURGER $41 Brie, Yuzu Pickles, Black Truffle Aioli: The truffle was very light in flavor. I could have had this without the Brie. However, the quality of the meat was good, nice and juicy! (maybe a little too juicy as the bun was a bit soggy). I really liked the fries, nice and crispy. EGGS BENEDICT Snake River Farms Ham (or can have Smoked Salmon): My mother-in-law said this was one of the best Eggs Benedict she has had! Staff was very attentive and super friendly! If you're in Los Angeles, don't miss coming here. The views of the city (about 300 degrees) are amazing. Omar the host was terrific, and Reese our waiter was great. The food is extraordinary. We started with a couple of cocktails and then a few appetizers. Then three of us shared the Pad Thai, the Chicken Katsu and the Black Pepper beef stir-fry. Everything was excellent!! read more

I ate a $41 cheeseburger*, and I should probably end the review right there. But let me explain myself for this insanity. I wanted to check out this place since a friend suggested it for a night out, so being curious as I am, I decided to try it out for lunch on my own. I attempted to make a reservation on Open Table which didn't work out so I risked going as a walk-in during later afternoon hours. Going by the parking tips from other reviews, I found a spot on Walden for 2 hours, but of course, the crosswalk which would conveniently take you right to the Waldorf doesn't exist so you have to take every other crosswalk to get there. Valet is an option, but at $20 WITH validation from The Rooftop at JG, I'd rather spend money on food. After you enter the hotel, hook a right to the elevators and take it all the way up. You'll encounter the pool but go left down a walkway towards the restaurant. At the end of this walkway, I encountered the lovely hostess Jennifer, who was most helpful. Since I didn't have a reservation, I knew chances were slim I'd be able to stay, but she made every effort to maintain my business. There were a few couches up front where I could have sat, but I felt guilty taking up something that was meant for multiple people. The bar currently seats 4 only, and I did see a couple, but they looked as though they were there for the long haul. Take-out was an option, but Jennifer and I agreed that the food would be best consumed on the premises. Within 10 minutes of me being up there a little after 3p, I was able to take a seat at their bar. Jorge the bartender was great; cordial and asked all the right questions but never intrusive. He was on top of refilling my water, and my food came out just how I wanted it. The truffle cheeseburger did not have a strong truffle flavor but I didn't mind; it was pretty good. The fries were not truffle fries but had rosemary which I really enjoy. He noticed I hadn't touched my other burger 1/2 so he brought out a (super cute) box for it to-go. On my way out at the elevators, a manager in a gray suit made pleasant conversation and I left on a good note from The Rooftop by JG. My experience here was a positive one, and I was happy I was able to be fit in for this late lunch without a reservation. Keep in mind this was during the week, and I went solo which probably helped. Thank you to hostess Jennifer, bartender Jorge and the rest of the staff I spoke with. I also reached out to a manager named Adrien who was a pleasure to deal with over email. Side note: they have cool pens (similar to the Langham's pink pens but in mint green) which you know I happily helped myself to. *The sole reason I did such a stupid thing is because it was my birthday lunch. I know it's a lame excuse, but it's a valid reason. read more

Dan was our waiter and he was absolutely amazing, attentive, welcoming and personable. He truly made our dining experience one that will make me a repeat guest. He was knowledgeable of the menu, the city and the drink choices. The ambiance was perfect and albeit it was a bit chilly the multiple heaters above were very helpful in balancing the weather. The food was fresh and tasteful. The salmon, avocado toast and the fries were superb. Parking was valet and it sure of pricing but they were fast and efficient. The restrooms were very clean and maintained. The views are beyond wonderful read more

The service was excellent... Ambiance with the view was beautiful... I miss the lounge style chairs that were once in the dining area... they've since been moved to waiting area... Food was good... but the Lobster burger was much better before... you could tell it was lobster... this was more chopped up and not as pleasant to eat as the first time I had it several years ago. read more
Have not been back since I came here a few years back. Went on a Friday evening and yikes. no dress code. Kids running around in flip flops. Mostly hotel guests and tourists. Food wise - not a place to eat. The quality of the food is below par. The taste is bland. The technique of preparing the dishes are so bad - overcooked meat - dry - bland - boring! I am posting pictures in this review. But honestly, the pictures does not justify the taste. It may look good but food is bad! Also - the wine selection is really bad. They don't have tequilas that they offer on the menu. The red wine bottle we ordered was corked! Ofcourse, they have to replace it. This rooftop bar/lounge was good before. Not anymore. I don't recommend it at all. There are many other rooftop bars in LA & Bev Hills that you can go to. read more

Good vibes here! But don't come here for the food. Service and staff were nice. Not sure if it's just their seafood but it wasn't fresh. The fishiness from the tuna tartare was masked by sauces and dressings. Sashimi was still semi-frozen. I was surprised that a spot like this would not have better quality control. 4 stars for the view but 3 stars for the food. The view up there is amazing!! I would most definitely recommend coming around sunset to fully enjoy your time there. You must book a reservation because I went on a Monday and it was still pretty busy. Even arriving at the valet, they ask for your reservation to make sure you have one. The guac and chips were probably the best I have ever had! The fries were crispy and delicious. I never really eat guac like this but it was definitely my favorite! The bolognese was decent but nothing crazy. The grilled wagyu tenderloin was yummy paired with their sauce! Overall, do not come here to expect anything crazy because the food was pretty decent IMO. read more

The food was delicious, the view was superb and the company was awesome. The spicy sauce that came with the charred octopus was EVERYTHING!! So yummy! Also got the salmon on crispy rice and the sauce on that was equally delicious. Last but not least the LOBSTER burger!! Just wow!! I shared it with my friend but it won't be that way next time! The view of this restaurant is really beautiful, and that is pretty much the selling point. The rooftop is decorated very cute, and the Waldorf Astoria is a gorgeous hotel. However, this restaurant had excellent service but pretty subpar food. Our server was wonderful, made us feel super welcome and answered all of our questions. A friend and I came here and ordered the fries with caviar - this is probably a 4/10 at best. Regular fries with a sprinkling of caviar for $80, felt very skimpy for some regular fries with a nice view. The pasta entree I ordered was fine, pretty standard meat sauce. I may come back here for drinks or the view, but this is definitely not somewhere I would eat a meal. Service is wonderful though!! read more

Delicious food and amazing views! My son and I had an amazing time here. Outdoor restaurant to enjoy as LA always has amazing weather. I noticed many guests on business meetings so it's great for networking and to bring clients I assume. Wait time was about 20 minutes for food, but it was during opening time when it was lunch on a weekday. read more
Managed to snag a table with some colleagues after work. This is the perfect spot for taking in the breathtaking views of the hills and the extensive wine and cocktail list is an added bonus. Although we didn't eat, I loved my glass of champagne. A place like this obviously going to come with a high price tag, but congrats the view, the service, and the ambiance, I say it's worth every penny. read more
So I enjoyed eating here for the views. The food was pretty good. It's very obvious you'll get a better table if you are a guest here because they do ask you. I also ate here 3x during a one-night stay and getting checked in by the different hosts was very interesting. It does get busy here; I wish they would check on you more often. They did check on the table once after food arrived, but I was expecting them to check on your at least a couple of more times and ask if you want the check. We didn't have silverware for our 2nd course, needed more water, had to flag someone down for the check, etc. Still, I think it is worth dining here at least once and def stay at the hotel if you can. read more

Atmosphere: this place is absolutely breathtaking. the view and the vibes are totally worth going for. It's placed in a beautiful location where you can overlook the entire city. The clear glass makes it that much easier to see the outdoors which is beautiful. Food: very delicious food. Has lots of flavor. The portions are accurately sized, which means expect to get a huge American sized portion lol. The quality was so good tho that we did get full. Service: the service was immaculate. The formal doorman greeting you and opening the door, it's giving elegance, it's giving VIP status.... to the very friendly waitress patiently took our order. I wish I knew this place sooner but now that I do I will definitely be coming back since the aesthetics are perfection & food is delicious. read more
Hey, so I haven't been here in a while. I was very pleased him but my dad here for his 80th birthday! Was disappointed in the limited menu but the waiter for the life of me. I can't remember his name really nice and the bartender really nice man good looking to! The food was good don't get me wrong. It was just a kind of limited menu, but it was well worth it. I don't agree however that they are only there in they don't take cash money. You have to use a card on Apple Pay something like that so that's a little inconvenient! But my dad was happy, and my cousins were happy that we made him happy and that's all that matters read more
The ambience, the view stunning. It is a really nice restaurant to go to whether with friends or family. The staff were friendly and quick to bring out drinks and food. The only reason I can not give a 5 star rating is honestly the food. I had ordered the salmon dish. In my opinion, the only thing good on that plate was the salmon, the mashed potatoes tasted like instant mashed potatoes and the broccolini was a little salty for my taste. This rooftop restaurant is located on top of the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills. Great service, and the blackberry tea was a hit. You can't beat the view. I'd say the only issue we had when we arrived was the hostess. She was a bit passive/dismissive when we approached to let her know that we had a reservation. But I didn't let her little "tude" ruin our experience. I'll still give it 5 stars... read more

You can! There's bar seating but it may take some time to grab a spot depending upon how busy. It's not impossible but I recommend a reservation

Yes. I have seen many nice tight dresses, and men with jeans and hats. Enjoy the views and the great drinks.

I haven't been there for dinner but there is no minimum $/person for brunch.

We brought our dogs, although we were guests of the hotel--not sure if policy differs for non-guests.

How are they operating during COVID?
Based on my visit, they had great safety protocols. Social distance was enforced, masks were required to enter, staff were wearing masks and face shields, tables were sanitized, and of course it being outdoor helps.

I have read conflicting info on tables, are the tables only reserved for Hotel guests?
We weren't guests and just called ahead for a reservation.

I would not recommend this location in the evening for a 90 year old , it can get windy and cold
Is a reservation needed for a table of 2 on a Tuesday night?
Reservations technically aren't needed any day as they do take walk-in people, but it is better to be safe than sorry. The crowds aren't very predictable on any day and I definitely always make reservations
Can I order food other then appetizers at the bar/lounge area?
Yes.. we ate dinner at the lounge area since they didn't have a table!
