Pros: - food/ drinks came out fast. Lunch for 5 was done in 70 minutes. - the bear cups were adorable. - my colleagues enjoyed their eggs Benedict's with bacon/ salmon, mochi matcha waffles, and Japanese fried chicken curry. Cons: - my dish (crustacean scramble) was ok. The lavender latte was a tad sweet for me. - the automatic 20% surcharge was surprising. It's usually for party of 6 and above for other places.
MOTHER'S DAY SATURDAY DINNER The night before Mother's Day I came here along with my sister and her husband to take out our mothers for dinner. When I go out for dinner on a special occasion, I order a dish that I don't regularly eat. For beverage I choose the iced dirty lavender latte. The main entree I selected was the tom yum paella. I've had lavender latte. Sometimes lavender latter can be too sweet. At The Royale I enjoyed drinking the iced dirty lavender latte, which had a slight earthy taste. The tom yum paella is play on a hot and sour Thai soup in a rice dish. I've eaten paella but having a tom yum concept was unique. I can taste the lime flavor from this paella. Even though there is seafood what made the tom yum paella stood out was the lobster tail. Having the iced dirty lavender latte with its earthy taste balances the strong lime flavor of the tom yum paella. Overall I had a nice dinner for Mother's Day. The decor at The Royale has a relaxed upscale setting. The restaurant isn't tiny, but at the same time The Royale isn't very large. Even though I came here for Mother's Day dinner, The Royale is a restaurant you can come to eat for a special occasion like Father's Day or a graduation.
Came here for a birthday brunch and was very excited. We came on a Saturday and although there was a bit of a line we were still probably seated within 15 minutes. Staff were very friendly and the interior was well decorated. Definitely would come again for another girls brunch. or even to check out the dinner menu. Here's what we got... 5/5 Tom Yum Paella - perfect blend of flavors. My family had made paella before but I have never heard of a fusion paella. Pleasantly surprised and would order again. (This is dine in only) 3.5/5 French Toast - Prettily plated and tasted yummy. Can't go wrong with pancakes or french toast. (I will have to come back to try their Dua Lipa inspired Croffle & Ice Cream!) 4/5 Kare Raisu - Yummy and will satisfy the craving. I just wish I had more veggies in the curry but that's a personal preference. We got the Homefried chicken Thigh as the meat option and it was perfectly crispy. 4/5 Quattro Formaggi - This was very yummy! But with everything we ordered it was like an explosion of many different flavors. Not sure if I'd mix it up the same way next time. However by itself, I love sourdough so this was great with the mozzarrella, parmesan, gruyere and white sharp cheddar cheeses. The salad it came with was pleasant and the bacon and potatoes were a good mix.
Was in Pleasant Hill to pick up something and was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon the Royale for brunch. We arrived just before 11 on a Saturday and were seated right away, which is always a plus. But as we left around noon, it was really filling up and I felt we timed our visit just right. The interior is done in a beautiful art deco style with gold accents and velvet, glass light fixtures. I really appreciate the attention to detail - which even extended to the bathrooms. Our server was friendly and efficient. Everything went smoothly, which is always a plus. The food was also great. My husband went with the waffle which was topped with ice cream, berries, and a chocolate sauce. He reports that it was delicious--he finished the plate in its entirety. I went with the Ahi Tuna Salad because I wasn't terribly hungry. And it was perfect - the ahi was cooked just right, seasoned well, and the salad has exactly the right amount of dressing. So good! We will probably be back in the area in a couple of weeks, and I expect that will mean a return visit to The Royale. Thanks for a lovely dining experience.
Wowww... I couldn't have been more impressed. I made a reservation for Valentine's Day for me and my girlies and yesss it was busyyy! Reservations were nearly full but luckily we got a spot early in the morning. The place was packed, but I see why. I loved their drinks as well as their Tom Yum Paella. The portion was a bit small compared to other places however the flavor was immaculate! Months go by and I'm still thinking of this dish. The green sauce was what really made the dish top tier in my opinion. I truly loved how unique this dish was and I can't wait to try more! Staff were super friendly. We were a party of 3 and they sat us in a booth. We're all foodies and we tend to order a lot sometimes so I loved how much space we had at the booth. It was truly perfect!
Went back again for bunch but it's a bit disappointed by the food. We ordered the burger again and the patty were dried and over cooked. The patty were also thin like a fast food place. The Benedict was good tho so I gave 3 stars as average. Service was good and this place was packed with people on the weekends.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the vibe here. It's a super cute place for brunch. They're very popular, so expect a wait. Not sure if they take resys but for walk ins, they do have a waiting list to sign your name on. Make sure you walk to the front desk to put your name down. They have regular dining tables, as well as high top tables for the smaller groups (2-4 people). Because it's brunch.. I can't say the tables move fast but the staff sure do! They're hustling in the kitchen, bar, floor, etc. The menu has French and Thai influence, so expect your standard brunch options but with a twist. The concept is modern fusion, so dishes (and prices) are elevated but very well worth it. Let's get into the food: French toast- 100000/10 OFF THE CHARTS. A must order every time. It's $27 for just french toast but honestly, this is phenomenal. It's dessert dressed up as breakfast. It honestly takes like bread pudding with how custardy the french toast is. They hit a home run with this one. It's meant to be shared (by at least 3 people) as it's way too sweet for just one person to eat. The mascarpone, candied nuts, berries and caramel sauce tie the whole dish together. A great finisher, or palate cleanser between savory bites. Tom Yum Paella- 8/10 A fan favorite and for good reason. Lots of seafood top this dish, including a lobster tail, shrimps, mussels and calamari but the rice portion is verrrrrrrrry small. It comes out on a huge pan but the rice is spread super thin. The dish is good, it's packed with flavor from the lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves and chili paste, but it's just not blow my mind good. And in a way, it was just too much flavor? lol it's a weird thing to say. I love flavor, but it almost felt a bit overbearing. Also for people who can't eat spicy, it's a bit spicy. Again, it's another good shareable but just not main entree worthy for me. I LOVED the green seafood sauce that you're meant to dip the seafood in. I feel like if you mix the sauce into the rice, the citrus cuts the richness of the rice a bit, and makes it less one dimensional. We packed some of the leftovers to go, and they were nice enough to give me extra green sauce :) It's $48 btw. Ultimate Smashburger - 6/10 But to be fair... I don't love burgers. The presentation was amazing though. Two burger halves on a sizzling skillet of cheese? Say less. While it is a sight to see, it is very smokey. Also, they claim to use wagyu patties but they were pretty dry. I wanted to love the melty cheese, but it just didn't have as much flavor as I would like. They serve this with a whole pile of skinny cut fries, as well as pickles and pickled onions. Yum! Pro tip- dip the fries into the cheese and ketchup. FIRE! This might be a safe choice for someone who isn't feeling too adventurous, but I would skip this otherwise. If you're in need of a cocktail, they have plenty of signatures, as well as options for matcha and coffee. One of the owners came by towards the end of our meal to check on things and chat, so it was nice talking to Nikki about our experience at this location, as well as learn more about her other restaurants in the city. The bathrooms are all single stalls in a hallway. It's like walking into a closet, but then it's actually a bathroom. Beautiful hallway though, and I like the sink area. We had to sit at a high top so I can't say it was very comfortable, between the size of the table and the hard chair stools. I did like that we could see into the kitchen but it also was a little awkward, and seeing the fast pace of the staff rushing in and out just made me feel a bit anxious. But that's just me. FYI -The parking lot is huge, but shared between hotels and other businesses so you may have to park a ways away.
Came during a popular brunch time but the wait surprisingly wasn't too long! The service was super friendly and quick. We got the cute bear drinks and they were delicious and super cute for photos. All the food we tried was great. Loved the benedict especially. But everything tasted great. A good place for a group brunch!
Ready for a hidden gem that's easily recognizable on a busy street in Pleasant Hill? Look no further! The Royale is a spectacular place for anyone that looking for a high end brunch with well presented colorful plates of food and vibrant drinks. The atmosphere is elegant and modern making it the perfect place for family, friends, dates, occasions. I highly recommend checking The Royale out!
I came with a friend and my toddler. The atmosphere is super cute and aesthetic. Servers were friendly and even offered my son a little toy which is such a nice gesture. Things are priced a bit high but I did find value in the paella. The flavors were really well balanced. The Thai fusion take on brunch was really flavorful and balanced. We also enjoyed the ube pancakes. I'd skip the sirloin omurice, the rice was very mushy and the steak a bit chewy. Definitely a great spot for girls brunch!
Loved it! plenty of parking. Outside looks pretty and kind of european with the style of the patio furniture. The inside decor is elegant/stylish. They also have chandeliers. It's kind of a small place but they do have a couple of tables that can accommodate a group. The service was friendly. Each thing on the menu was unique so it took me a long time to read over. everything was delicious. My mom loved the smashburger, and she never likes anything. The ube latte with the bear was super cute and tasted good also. It had a boba/brown sugar flavor I feel like. The presentation for all of food items was carefully curated and had appealing garnishes. My husband ordered a grilled cheese and loved the variety of cheeses in it and the spicy bacon. Very memorable brunch!
Came here my the fam to celebrate my sister's birthday. I ordered the iced Ube latte and the Korean fried chicken burger. The Ube latte was nice and creamy. I also thought that the bear was pretty cute. The burger had a nice crunch to it and I really enjoyed the picked vegetables on the side. It complements the burger very well. The service here was really good. Our server was very kind, patient, and gave us good recommendations. Food also came out at a reasonable pace. I definitely will be back again. Try it out if you like. :)
Daaang ok fancy! Well well we'll, what a nice spot for brunch!! Came with a group, and we all got something different and all really enjoyed our food. In particular, I had La Costa Tartine (fancy smoked salmon on toast), what a treat. It tastes just as decadent as it looks, for sure. The rest of the group got: the smash burger, tuna salad, French toast, fried chicken sandwich, and chili bomb omurice with steak. And how cute are the ube and matcha lattes with the little ice cube bears?! read more

This review is a bit old but The Royale is such a cute brunch spot. We dined around back when they first opened and were very impressed by the interior. Lattes were so adorable and delicious, burger was okay, but that Tom yum paella was truly a star! I've had some really bad paella, super burnt or super wet, but this one was perfect! They really killed it with this dish. The green sauce that they pair it with was sooooo goood. Do yourself a favor & order that paella! read more
another brunch spot in the area and i love the concept of this place! it has lots of fusion dishes and let me tell you i was so overwhelmed with the options I had. iced matcha latte was solid, but could be better. also, i'm not understanding the concept of an iced ube latte not coming with an espresso. so if you do decide to order that, you'll have to add that in. i felt like the espresso was overpowering and i didn't really taste the ube flavor. Now to the food, i thoroughly enjoyed everything. The type of potatoes they used mixed with the aioli is excellent. i can eat those everyday. the candied bacon? oh my. i love how they have two diff options. i thought both of them were delicious but the spicy one was great. The flavor from the steak and sauce was immaculate on top of the rice and egg it comes in? i have no notes. 10/10 The service was great and the space is spacious. Decided to try someplace new for lunch. Interested in Thai fusion. The Royale took over the old Boston market in Pleasant Hill. There's lots of free parking so that was a plus. First of all, walking in the decor is beautiful. It's so clean and has just the right amount of decorations that are not overly powering. The swivel chairs are a nice treat where we don't have to move too much to sit comfortably. We ordered an iced Ube latte with a really cute bear in it, a Irish coffee with less whipped cream, the crustacean scramble and the chicken waffle. I like the Irish coffee, the best, and on my chicken and waffle the berries were all high-quality the waffle itself was a little dense for me and the chicken was really succulent and not too greasy. That's a part that I liked . The breading was a little too much for me but the chicken saved the dish. I think I'll try the avocado toast next time. read more
I decided to try this restaurant for Sunday brunch. They do not take reservations. Arrived around 12:30 PM & there were about 3 parties in front of us. We waited for 15 mins & sat at a bar table which sat 2 people. We were given a choice to wait for a table but choose to sit at the bar table. The high stool bar tables were was next to the kitchen which had glass so you can watch the kitchen. I find watching the kitchen fun & you can see all the food orders coming out. The Hostess & service staff were very nice. The restaurant decor was nice & they have a full bar and nice selection of cocktails, coffee & tea lattes. There is no outdoor seating. The menu is what caught my interest, definitely an Asian fusion place, but they also had served Etoufeé & Paella dishes. I ordered the Holy Chili Bomb Omurice w/Sirloin steak. I am not a person that typically like spicy food, but I wanted to try it. The French omelet was a soft omelette, nicely cooked. The steak was cooked medium, I am more a medium rare person, but I did not tell them to cook it medium rare. The steak was good & tender still. The rice was a basil fried rice, but this is where the heat came from. At first the heat was not bad, but the more I ate the spicer it got. I only ate 1/2 of my dish, because I could not handle the heat, which they tell you in the title of the dish, Chili Bomb rice. I still enjoyed the dish. Not sure if I would try it again because of the spiciness. I took the rest home, going to try eating it later. My niece ordered The Ambassador, which is your typical America breakfast, 2 egg, candied bacon, purple potatoes & toast w/homemade butter. It was a tasty dish if you want a typical American style breakfast. The food was good & the coffee & tea lattes were good. Some drinks were served in smaller glasses. Like the Thai tea latte, but the glass they served it in was cute. The price, in my opinion is a little higher than a brunch place in this area. All the food coming out of kitchen looked good. I gave it a 3 star for now. I will be revisiting to try more dishes to see if my rating changes. *Note we left right before closing 2:30 PM & we noticed that the majority of the serving staff was busy cleaning up & it took a bit to get their attention for the bill or for anything else. Was recommended by my sister who came not too long ago. Decided to come with our other sisters for Saturday brunch. They were busy so we waited for 40 mins for a table to open up. -Iced Ube Latte (5/5): Heaven! Not overly sweet with an edible ice bear adorning the whipped cream. -French Toast (4.5/5): Delicious mascarpone, berry gel & beurre noisette (brown butter) glazed the challah bread accompanied by sweet mixed berries and candied pecans. -Chicken Waffle (4/5): Chicken was moist, juicy and had a beautiful crunch to it. Waffle was a bit dry, so dipped in the French toast's sauces and it was really good. -Tom Yum Paella (5/5): Thin layer of rice baked with morsels of seafood. Heavy on tom yum flavor coupled with lemon and the citrus lime chili sauce - divine! -Ultimate Smashburger (5/5): Finger-licking Wagyu beef patty in between brioche buns drowned in garlic aioli... messy but so good. -Korean Fried Chicken (4.5/5): what can go wrong with succulent KFC sandwiched between soft, buttery brioche bun? Love their cream and brown chairs that swivels! I also love establishments with handwashing station outside of (3) restrooms! Super friendly servers and customer service. Recently came here and I have to say the food is so delicious! We got several plates and I wouldn't know which to say was my favorite. The best part is the service, we were greeted and treated so kindly. Even the management walks around and checks in on everyone. You can tell they take care of their restaurant well. I loved the Halloween decor that added to their already beautiful space. read more

Went to The Royal for brunch and got there at 930 am and place was busy. The staff were attentive and nice. Water glasses stayed full, plates arrived with smooth timing, and every interaction felt genuinely friendly. Prices lean toward the higher side, but the quality absolutely justifies it. Portions are generous but not excessive, and the overall experience feels worth every dollar. I got the Majesto Braised Shortribs. The moment I took the first bite, I knew this dish was special. The flavors were bold, fresh, and perfectly balanced. The seasoning hit all the right notes, and the texture was spot on where it needed to be, tender where it mattered. Absolutely worth ordering again! No complaints from the family. read more
The 4 of us came for dinner on a Friday around 6:45pm. We called for reservations, but we didn't seem to need them. Super charming spot! The service was friendly and honest with their recommendations. Prices are kinda high, but we had plenty of food and flavor. We got the Majestic Braised Short Rib, Cajun Lobster Pasta, Kare Raisu, and Etouffee. Everything tasted great, but the favorite was the braised short rib. 2nd would probably be the Kare Raisu. It had a strong Japanese curry flavor, which we really enjoyed! Overall, we will definitely be back! Seems like they're known for their brunch, so we'll definitely have to give it a try! read more

We visited Royale this morning right at 9 AM and were the first ones in the restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted, seated, and served with such warmth. Our waitress, Chris, I believe was her name... was absolutely sweet and attentive. In fact all the servers checked in on us and were all attentive! I ordered a hot mocha and noticed their adorable ice teddy bears they usually put in iced drinks. I asked if I could have one anyway, and she happily added it to my mocha, which made my morning! My husband ordered tea, and it was served so aesthetically with the cutest little honey dish. For breakfast, I had the omelette, and it was definitely not your average omelette--in the best way. It was flavorful, different, and delicious. I got the melted cheese on the side but the aioli and smashed avocado were perfect together. Their special butter for the toast was also amazing. My husband had the chicken and waffles, and let's just say he didn't talk much once the food arrived... his plate was spotless by the time he finished! The restaurant itself has the cutest vibe...every corner is thoughtfully designed. We absolutely loved it and will definitely be back, especially to try their cocktail hour or dinner menu! read more
My friend and I came here for girls night and we enjoyed everything we ordered. We were sat right away and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We didn't like our table because it was a little small and they cleaned off one and let us sit there. The inside had great ambiance and lighting. I ordered a royale 75 as my drink and my friend got the garden of Versailles. We both enjoyed our drinks a lot. We split a crab cake appetizer and it was soooo good I loved the sauce with it. Personally I did not like the strawberries with it but that's personal preference. My friend ordered the smash burger with the cheese sauce on the side and I ordered the Kare raisu with chicken. They were sooooo delicious and flavorful and the portions were a nice size. I would definitely come back read more
So...ok, the name Royale is fitting. I didn't go here with any real expectations. I was just looking for a place in the area to grab a quick bite. And wow. This restaurant is a vibe. The decor is lovely. You can see the live and thought pit into this space. The chairs are cool. It's like a lounge, but bright and light. We were greeted by a sweet gentleman and he led us to our table and pulled my chair out for me!!! I felt so special (turns out he was the owner). The server came right away with water and menus. The menus are fun to explore. The drink menu is unique and fun. It took us a minute to order cause there were too many choices for us. So we agreed we had to go back even before we ordered. I had the Dear Diana and my hubby had the Tirumiso Espresso. Both were great! We went against the waitress recommendations cause we didn't have much time . Hubby had Huevos Rancheros and though not traditional, it was really good and packed with flavor. I had the crustacean Scramble and the eggs were delicious and cooked in the French style and lots of crab. The sourdough toast comes with a homemade butter that kind of tastes like butterscotch. I wasn't a big fan of that but it was interesting. The purple potatoes that come with most dishes were really good too. A little sweet and good with the aioli. We cleared our plates and finished with candy bacon for dessert. Will definitely go back for the Paella and the chicken and waffles. The food has French and Asian influences but then there's also Spanish and soul food influences. It was a new experience for me. The service was outstanding. The food and drinks came out at a nice pace. Water was always refilled. The owners and servers checked in with us to not just see if we need anything, but to ask about our experience. Very cute new brunch spot from the owners of Lapisara in SF. No wait on Saturday at 12 noon but the restaurant was always full. Love the cute decor inside. Fast and friendly service. Met the owner too and she was so sweet. Lots of cocktail options and Thai-fusion brunch food that is seafood-forward (my favorite!). Food came out fast, even the paella! Tom Yum paella is very tasty with big portions of seafood. BF also enjoyed the smash burger (but not be truffle mushrooms inside which I ate bc I love mushrooms!) Not pictured but got the crab omelette (highly recommend, large pieces of Dungeness crab and very fluffy omelette). Candy bacon could be crispier - a little soggy - but that really was the only thing I could say that was not great. Saw so many pics of the cute ice bears on the Matcha and Ube lattes so of course we had to get them! You can make it less sweet too. Next time I'll come to try cocktails! read more

Lovely new upscale brunch spot that took over the space where Boston Market was. I was impressed with the decor. It was busy and there were a lot of people waiting to be seated. I added my name to a waitlist around 12:15pm on a Sunday, and it was about 25 minutes wait for a party of 2. The menu has a good selection of enticing brunch items. I got the following: Crab Omelette (4/5) - I was pretty happy with this main course. The lemon butter cream sauce went well with the crab & eggs. On the side, I liked the red AmaRosa potatoes in particular. Side of Royale's Bacon (3.5/5) - this was surprisingly spicy, so just be aware of that before you order it! My friend and I didn't like the spice. Hot Ube Latte with oat milk (4/5) - this was delicious, but the bear head-shaped cup it was served in, while cute, contained a much smaller serving than the standard size of a latte (like 6-8oz at most instead of 12-16oz) I saw pictures of the iced latte coming in a much larger mason jar, but that contained dairy, so I opted for the hot version with oat milk. I'll probably return to try more items, but this place is quite pricey. read more
This was was sooo good. Service was superb and the ambiance overall was exactly what we were looking for. The place is chic and just makes you feel like you're sitting in pottery barn kitchen. I had the crab omelette and is was SO good, I could have eaten the plate too. I can't believe I forgot to take a picture of my own dish! Can't wait to go back and enjoy everything in their menu. read more

This place has definitely got the aesthetics from the moment you approach the business to when you first step inside the restaurant. I love the designing process, however their floors felt a bit shaky? My friend and I felt a bit off by that. We were seated instantly. I got the iced Thai tea and my friend got an iced Ube Latte. I added the matcha bear on top of my Thai tea for an extra $3. Both drinks were really good! For the food, I got the veggie burger with the impossible meat. While I didn't exactly love my food, my friend got the chicken burger and absolutely loved it. Fries were amazing though. Would visit again and try something different, but excited to see how this place runs in the area! read more
Give 3 stars for the food Candy bacon could be thicker and sweeter The majestic was okay it was very savory plate. And the chicken sausage was okay as well The Food was okay but it did not have me raving or wanting more. Over all the presentation of the food and the restaurant was very modern and beautiful. Service was very quick and helpful And for sure on my next visit I'll try out some other food on the menu. read more

I love this restaurant. We always stop here on our way to a 49ers game when we're driving from Sacramento, and it's such a perfect addition to the Concord area. The food is genuinely delicious, and the vibe is cool and trendy without trying too hard. They have all the fun drinks with glitter... plus coffees with gummy bears and other playful touches, but the food actually lives up to the hype of the uniqueness. Service is fast, everyone is super kind, and it just feels like a great spot all around. I personally love the seafood omelette situation, but honestly everything we've tried has been really good. And the cocktails cannot be beat. Definitely recommend. It's a great addition to the neighborhood, a unique dining experience, and a nice break from all the chain restaurants. read more
My daughter and I enjoyed an impromptu breakfast/brunch and finally tried The Royale. Very cute clean place. She tried the cold ube latte with the frozen ube bear on top. So cute and yummy. I got the hot warm matcha latte, which was also good. (They initially brought me the cold one and hopefully they didn't charge me for the wrong thing. I didn't check the bill.) I wanted to get the chicken waffles but it's dark meat so not for me. I got the crab omelette, which was pretty good, not amazing. I cheese. The purple potatoes that were smashed and crispy on the outside was a surprise and stole the show. My daughter LOVED her strawberry pistachio croissant - highly recommend it. read more
Definitely a breakfast/brunch spot to visit. The ice bears for a few drinks really drew me in. I've had one before but all the way out in Elk Grove so glad they are closer to the bay now and with more to choose from. Their presentation for all their drinks and dishes are very beautifully presented. A bit pricey but worth a treat. Great location for friends and family as well as day dates. There is another different breakfast/brunch spot near by I wanted to check out but the other spot had a lot more traffic with waiting time, loud and very busy. This location is a lot more calm with cool vibes rather than a busy crowded area. Parking here though is also busy with few spots available. I had a bit of a walk just to say the least. Their chicken we ordered was good, like the breading is cooked with but mine with the Benedict seemed very breaded and I didn't really feel like the chicken was fully cooked just in my opinion. I brought the leftovers home and still couldn't finish the rest. The drinks were too cute to drink, probably needed a little bit more sweet but overall yummy to drink with because of the presentation. Cute bear themed ice and cup. We had a great time, hope they can start installing the purse hook underneeth their tables for security. We were ushered to a small table and we asked for the bigger one but the waitress said it's reserved, the whole time that we were there no one ever sat on that area but definitely will go back for the vibe read more

The Royale... serious dude... who owns this place, the Great Gatsby. Some pretty girl recommended this place and since I'm a simp, let's go! Usually this place is packed on the weekends, we took our date night on Thursday. We stepped inside and instantly loved the vibe. Simple and elegant with a view of the kitchen and bar. Perhaps it is rightfully 'The Royale'. We shared the Tom Yum Paella, the Majestic Braided Short Rib. She got the cute UBE Latte and I got the refreshing Indigo Punch hot tea. What a great dinner. This place didn't disappoint! I came here yesterday for brunch and this is such a cute little place. This is the former Boston market restaurant, but you can't even tell that that existed in the same atmosphere. Everything is very cute and bright, but also a tad bit fancy, which is nice. The chairs, I have mixed reviews about them. Though they're soft and comfortable I don't really like that they have wheels on them. Trying to have a conversation with my friend then rolling around is just not really all that great. However, the service was really nice and the waitress is very friendly and always had a really big smile in her face, which was really cool. The menu is not too extensive but has some really fancy options like omelettes Benedict and if you want a basic breakfast, they have that on there as well. I went with the chicken and waffles because I heard it was really tasty and boy was it! It came with a waffle that was broken into four and dusted it with some powdered sugar and fresh fruit slices and some warm syrup, which was nice. The chicken thigh was two pieces and it was just a lot of food. The chicken was crispy and really was tasty. It seemed more like a breast though. Maybe because it was deboned? I do feel like my dishes is worth $27 and I would order it again. For my drink, I had been seeing pictures of those cute iced drinks with the little bear and I ordered the caramel macchiato and sure enough it came with a cute brown ice bear, which was just a really cute topping. They now serve dinner and I would like to go back to get dinner and an alcohol drink. The Royale is such a beautiful spot -- the decor is modern, inviting, and full of personality. The staff were friendly and quick to take our orders, and they were kind enough to accommodate our large group after work, which we really appreciated. We ordered the Holy Chili Bomb Omurice with Sirloin Steak and Chicken & Waffles, while my coworkers got the Tom Yum Paella and Ultimate Smash Burger. For drinks, I had the Excalibur, which was fun and flavorful. The food came out in good time and the portions were just right. The Chicken & Waffles were delicious -- crispy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The Tom Yum Paella was the standout of the night -- full of flavor and a must-try dish. The Omurice with Sirloin Steak had great presentation but could use a little tweaking. The steak was a bit on the salty side, and after a few bites, the saltiness became a little overpowering. I also wish the egg had been slightly softer to get that perfect omurice texture. Overall, though, we really enjoyed our experience. I wish I could give more than 5 stars! I personally had the smash burger and it was PERFECTLY made! The cheese added great salt flavor while the side pickles and pickled onions cut through the intense creaminess of the dish. On top of that - the fries were incredible! Super crispy and salty. We cannot wait to return and try everything else on the menu! Service was fantastic as well - water never went empty and the overall vibe of the place was calm and intimate allowing for normal volume conversations. read more

thanks to a friend suggesting The Royale after attempting to have brunch at a different nearby restaurant whose wait time was almost an hour at first the crowded waiting area almost was a downer, but after noticing how many signed guests ahead of me was minimal, our party of 3 decided to be patient to savor our appetites. reviewing the menu on our phones, my significant other and I were intrigued with the drinks and brunch options drinks : for her - " Apollo Spritz " containing Aperol Spritz and passionfruit was placed on the table with passionfruit "caviar" & for me - " Super Tom Yum Mary " containing tequila with tajin rimmed, popcorn chicken, shrimp & tom yum inspired soup mix. I missed out taking a video of my "dessert" of a final drink of an old fashion with butter whiskey and candy bacon in a dome releasing smoke food : my son enjoyed the ice cream on his waffle, my significant other couldn't stop commenting how the " Crustacean Scramble " was delicious & I enjoyed the omurice with sirloin steak nice surprise of the owner(or manager) and daughter visiting each table to provide a valentine's gift to the moms definitely will return to taste other options and quench my thirst. read more
