I use to frequent The Stand in Encino for many years. The food there was okay, and the staff was quite unremarkable. I decided to try this location in Northridge with a few friends and my wife one night. We ordered our food, the staff was extremely polite, helpful and accommodating . Unaware that the Mac and cheese came with bacon bits, my wife took a bite. Needless to say, she is highly allergic to pork. Worse, we had not a single Benadryl in our possession. Believe it or not, one of the employees jumped into action. He ran down the street to the convenient store, bought us some Benadryl, and brought it back to us in what seemed like seconds. Thanks to his quick action, my wife avoided a trip to the ER. More incredible than his actions, was the fact that he didn't even expect to be thanked. We didn't get a chance to say thank you, before his shift ended and was gone. So Mo, this is an official thank you!! We've been back since, a few times now. The Stand (at least this location) has once again become one of my favorite places. Not just for the food but mostly because of the amazing staff. They always greet you with a smile, positive attitude, and it's just an all around amazing place with an equally amazing vibe. So thank you to Mo, Aubrey, Santiago, Hermane, and Cat, for restoring my faith and proving that selfless acts of kindness and great customer service still exists. Keep up the good work!! All most forgot to mention the food! The burgers are big and juicy, definitely gourmet quality at the fraction of the price. You must try the Brussels sprouts and the seared ahi salad, definitely 2 thumbs up. And don't forget the root beer float. I was curious about trying out this quick service restaurant. My brother mentioned how great it was. I ordered the burger with onion strings with BBQ on the side. I also tried out the bacon avocado burger with sauce on the side. I always make sure to try sauces on the side because trendy restaurants try to be gourmet and the sauces don't always taste good. I also hate when I am half way through and my burger is too soggy to eat. The sauces were fine. The burger was tasty. They were cooked fine. I thought the price was a bit high without including fries and high quality beef. I prefer another dine in restaurant nearby that uses quality rib eye beef in the burger and includes fries. I think this restaurant might appeal to people who enjoy a large variety of beer on tap and a large variety of soft drinks. read more

A friend and I walked in last night 30 min before closing. We were rushing because we didn't want to be those jerks that sit and stay like they don't know people want to go home to their lives after work. But the staff was so warm and friendly! They chatted us up and we stayed past closing laughing with them and having a blast. I ordered a burger with blue cheese that was so delicious! Have you ever had food so yummy you were planning on coming back the next day while you were still eating?? Lol Beer was also delicious. This place is great. I was pleasantly surprised. My burger was really tasty. I also got some onion rings, everyplace I get them they are really greasy. These were not only not greasy but really good. They serve their burgers lettuces wrapped for those who are gluten free. We were told they will be offering breakfast soon as well. Can't wait to try it. read more

This stand is in a great location and finally close to the people on the other side of the world. We used to go to the Encino or Canoga location. We always felt that there should have been one close to CSUN because the food is so delicious and especially with the ambiance of the place, it would attract young kids. This is without a doubt one of my favorite burger joints. Our food came out just late one time and to make it up, they gave us a $25 gift card which shows how hospitable the staff is. Been coming here for a while and as usual I placed my order on the app which indicated a 30 minute wait time. I was already driving there and figured it was a Friday and they were busy so not a big deal. Arrived 30 minutes later with the family and asked at the front if the order was ready. Guy said they were making it so we went to sit down. Waited 15 minutes and went back up and asked what was going on. At that point the guy confirms my name and says they don't have an order for me. Annoying order didn't go through but that can be forgivable and could have been fixed if he actually checked on my order. Making someone wait for 15 minutes on a busy night with a baby already losing patience to tell them they need to get in line to place an order is not.
