Takeout service is just bad. For the second time in recent weeks, I ordered a chicken stand burger and they gave me beef. My kids like the burgers so we go here sometimes but I don't eat red meat so I just order the grilled chicken. You can't keep messing the same thing up. Last time I was refunded for the mistake, just had no dinner that night. I haven't even called yet this time. I just wanted my food not get offered to drive back or get refunded. read more

Once again, I write to positively rave about the personal service we experienced at The Stand, Westlake Village. We had never been for lunch -- usually dinner -- and it gets very busy. We were three people and the register missed one of our orders. Team Member, YVONNE, was quick to correct the problem. She immediately put our order back through and brought the order to our table within two minutes...amazing service! We have found over the years that The Stand associates are well focused on the customers; service has been consistently extraordinary! We just moved to the area and wanted a quick bite for lunch. The Stand has a ton of options for parties that can't decide on what to eat. I got the Havarti Shroom burger done medium rare. While it came out medium/medium-well (honestly to be expected at most places) the beef was really great quality. I got a side of onion rings with it and they were light and crisp, the onion slightly sweet. To drink, I had the cucumber mint agua fresca which in my opinion tasted like a light mojito mocktail. Delicious all around. The only reason why it's a four star instead of five is because the staff at the counter were short and didn't seem interested in answering some questions around recommendations. It was pretty busy in the actual restaurant but there was no one behind us in line even after we ordered. read more

My first encounter with The Stand was the Encino location many years ago. Those amazing burgers!!! Extremely delicious and packed with flavor. Almost always a line and worth the wait. When I saw that they were coming to Westlake Village, I mentioned it to Dear Hubby and suggested a visit as soon as possible. We got the chance last Thursday evening. We arrived just before 5 PM, and that was just before they started getting busy. Lots of great menu choices, for sure. The biggest challenge is figuring out what to order. Or heck, just plan on coming back often to try various options! I went with the special "Yuzu Shroom Burger", substituting the beef patty for turkey. DH tried the special "Harvest Turkey Burger on a Wheat Bun". We also split a side of fries, plus a mint shake for me, and a craft beer for DH. While not exactly inexpensive, the quality added value. I would have gone five stars on the rating except that my burger was not that warm, and the mushrooms were overcooked. What could have been an OMG taste sensation was somewhat above okay. I think mine stayed on the grill a bit too long, and then under a heat lamp, instead of coming out when finished. As they're still pretty new at this location, I expect that this won't be the norm for how the food comes to the table. Our fried were tasty, but also not at the peak of warmth, either. The shake was quite delicious, but they use very small diameter straws, and it was really, really hard to get the drink out via one. I ended up getting a second one to use in combination, which helped a bit. We'll definitely be returning for another opportunity to have happy taste buds. read more

I love The Stand. Found it by accident during a motorcycle ride. Thought the food was really good, as well as the service. They usually have sports showing on several large TV's and the place is clean. I've gone several times and it hasn't disappointed. read more

Really cannot go wrong with this eatery. So many options for even the pickiest of eaters. I was here a few days ago and shared a salad and fries with my mother. We got the Chinese Chicken Chop Salad (Sliced grilled chicken breast, crispy wontons, crispy noodles, mandarins, sesame seeds, house-made chop salad mix of romaine, iceberg, red cabbage, scallions, carrots with red ginger dressing. This was such a great choice and so filling. Definitely big enough to share. Make sure to ask for some extra dressing as it is really tasty to dip the fries into. My father got the Stand Burger (Grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, stand burger sauce). He really enjoyed it and said it was just the right amount to fill him up. YUM! Was craving a burger and came to check out The Stand with a friend and was not disappointed. First of all, the menu is quite large so there's many options to choose from! Burgers, sandwiches, salads, wraps...they've got it! I opted for the bacon & blue cheese burger and a small side of sweet potato fries. They also have a variety of dipping sauces for on the side or to add to anything. Everything was delicious and filling, very good sized portions that I couldn't quite finish! MUST GO HERE! Had an amazing experience on Sunday afternoon. Was craving a whole bunch of different things and The Stand delivered! They have a huge menu full of options. From salad to chilli fries I was happy with the amount of options. It was busy when I came in, but waiting in line was the perfect amount of time to look at the menu. We got ALOT of things, only because I couldn't choose what I wanted. What I love is the different sizes you can get with the fries/sides. I ordered the Chinese Chicken Salad which was SO GOOD. For less than $15 I was surprised on how much they gave. The salad was tossed and delicious. We also got the chilli cheese fries and sweet potato fries - both amazing as well. Also ordered the medium Mac n cheese. Nothing negative to say about the food at all. For the drinks: I got The Stand Blond Ale, Cookie Butter Crunch Shake & we got (for free) a Orange Float. (Since they had extra) Yes it's A LOT. And we were filled and beyond satisfied. Everything was absolutely delicious and staff was so friendly. I really enjoyed coming here, It was our first time & they just opened up this location. Walk up to the counter, order, take your number, pick your seat then they will bring the food to you. I tried the Short Rib Grilled Cheese & onion rings Both tasty the grilled cheese was filling & the parmesan crusted sourdough was amazing!!!! The onion rings were hot & fresh. The stand is a great restaurant for the family and for casually dressed people. You go up to the counter, place your order and sit down then they bring the food to you. People love their hamburgers. Portions are generous, the service is great and everybody in my party liked the food very much. There's outdoor seating and of course you're in beautiful Westlake Village. This is outstanding, successful restaurant for burgers, hotdogs, sandwiches, salads, and any attire will do. read more

I'm updating my review with a 4 star, because this is based on their wonderful customer service, even though the food my last 2 times wasn't the best. I ordered through Postmates a week ago. My burger was raw and they didn't give me the sauces I asked for. Also the large onion rings were the size of a small. I called to tell them and they compensated me which was kind. I went back a few days later to give it another shot. I ordered a few things to try... a stand turkey burger and the short rib grilled cheese. The burger was way too salty. The short rib grilled cheese had a parmesan crusted bread, which was unfortunately very burnt so it tasted bitter. It was also very heavy. I wouldn't order that again. From the other pictures of it that I saw, the bread looked better. I'll be taking a break from THE STAND for awhile, unless I get an onion ring craving. read more

Came here for the yelp event and loved that they gave more than initially advertised I got the baby kale and quinoa salad which was delicious. I loved how the quinoa was toasted cause it gave off a very nice crunch. The salad was super fresh I also got a side of fries to offset the salad LOL which was good. Phenomenal place! I was actually introduced to The Stand when I was visiting my brother-in-law in Denver and took the family out to one in that area. It was super-noisy on a Friday night and we were right by the entryway to the kitchen -- but that also meant the food was hot and fresh when the orders were ready. Then, back on the coast, we were invited to dinner by a friend and he said he had discovered this new place near his new apartment: The Stand in Westlake Village. We didn't get seated by the kitchen that time but, once again, the food and drinks were both phenomenal. A few weeks later, a coworker said he was going to dash to Carls Jr. and offered to buy me lunch. I told him to check out The Stand's website and he decided to order from there instead. From what I understand, he doesn't do Carls Jr. for lunch any more; when he wants a burger he orders from the better place now. Make no mistake, this is NOT a fast-food burger joint. This is more like a classic diner that specializes in burgers instead of breakfast foods and home-style dinner entres (e.g. spaghetti, or prime rib). As such, the offerings are going to take longer to make than your average drive-through grease-flipper but, then again, the resulting quality is going to be better, as well. I don't get out to Westlake Village much any more but, when I do, The Stand is one of the few places I frequent. read more

Thousand Oaks, CA 4.5 stars rounded to 5 I have visited this fast casual location twice while in the area as of recent and both times have received great service, fresh tasting food, and a good experience for all in our party. This location is one of fourteen family owned Stand restaurants in California and one location in Texas. They have a rather large menu serving gourmet style burgers, sandwiches, salads and sides. Ordering is at the counter/register and servers bring the food out to the table. On both visits I ordered a chicken club sans bun, extra arugula, everything tasted fresh and well prepared. Orders came out in a timely manner. I'm a sucker for fresh cut fries, regular or sweet potato or hand dipped onion rings and they don't make these here but they do use a high quality frozen variety of all of the above and people seem to be happy with those sides as well as the Mac and cheese. On our most recent visit we got to try some thick cut potato chips as well which were fantastic. They have house pickles to munch on and a variety of creative sauces to accompany their menu items. The fresh strawberry shakes are addicting and worth trying. This is a very family friendly clean environment, nice outside patio as well. Bryce, the Area Manager, took our order and provided excellent service, but really every employee here that I have interacted with has been more than pleasant and helpful. read more

My first mistake was trying to find parking at lunch. My second mistake was not ordering a burger since that is clearly what they're known for. They can't keep up with cleaning the tables to get clients in swiftly so you pretty much have to bus your own. I had the Chinese chicken salad and the dressing was delicious but the chicken was dried out and the piles of crispy noodle topping were extremely out of proportion to the actual salad. read more

The short rib grill cheese is fantastic and the bbq brisket is right there. All of their sandwiches are great.

I just want to say: whoever set up The Stand on Doordash...... I hope your pillow is always cold. I've never seen a better set up for Doordash - every single thing you can think of is an option for customization. That and the way they package the food means we've never had a messed up order! The burgers are great. My husband got a sandwich once. He's obsessed with their wraps. The fries and onion rings are pretty good, THANK YOU for giving ranch with them. My toddler loves their mac n cheese. But the showstopper is the cookie butter milkshake! read more

The first time I went to the stand I was greeted by Yvonne and I said, "I have never been here before, " and she said, "You will be back". She was right I eat there at least twice a week.
