Smoked Corn and Field Green Salad, Classic Beef Tacos and a side tortilla.
Paula M.

Visiting the area and I am hooked on this place! The food is excellent, always fresh. Service is very good and food comes out quick. Can sometimes get loud in there when crowded but usually it's been fine. Good music playing and they have late hours too. My favorite is the smoked corn and field greens salad, guacamole, sweet plantains and chicken tacos on soft corn tortillas. GF options too. I have eaten here multiple days in a row, and even twice in one day. update - tried the chicken tortilla soup and can't wait to go back for more! It tasted very fresh and flavorful, which just the right amount of spice. Love the chips on the side!

Great short rib of beef tacos and very nice watermelon margarita . The food was excellent and the service was also. Nice and quaint not too loud and noisy. Great ambiance

Sidewinder Fries

I would not recommend ordering takeout from here because the tacos get so soggy and they are so oily. I've came here before and eaten in person and it was so much better but I ordered out the other day and the taco was covered in oil. I wouldn't come back just because of how oily the food was. But the fries were good.

Decent Mexican joint in the heart of downtown Bronxville. The food is consistently good and everything is made to order with fresh ingredients. I ordered cod fish tacos battered and fried and they were crispy and delicious. They also offer the fish tacos sauteed. They top them with red cabbage slaw, guacamole, homemade salsa, cilantro, and radishes. We also ordered the sidewinder fries which are served with 2 homemade sauces and ketchup. They are not my favorite and a bit greasy. The portion is good for a few to share. The veggie burrito is also a solid choice here. It's a good size and filled with Rice, black beans, guacamole, salsa, lettuce, jicama, red cabbage, grilled corn, radishes and cilantro. The food they serve reminds me of the taco shops you find throughout Southern California so it's a different style than your traditional or "Americanized" Mexican food.

Steak Tacos, Shrimp Tacos, Pork Belly Tacos

It's a modern take on Tex-Mex with a colorful retro vibe in the restaurant. The service was good. The food was alright. It's good for what it is--simply, Americanized tacos with some other influences such as the pork belly tacos. And don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with that, but I would never claim this place to be an authentic Mexican place as other reviews have mentioned. I also would like to note that the shells were a bit cold while eating as well as the flavor lacking, especially in their more fusion tacos like the pork belly one. They experiment with different flavor pairings, though, which I'll give them credit for.

Fish Tacos

I've been here at least twice now and it just gets better and better. After trying the yonkers location, I wondered if the food was consistent in the various locations. I had the fish tacos and on another visit I tried the shrimp burrito. As I said in my review for the other location, I adore the fact that they have seafood options. The fish was crispy and delightful and it was easily one of best tasting fish tacos I've had and I've had a great deal of those. The shrimp burrito is incomparable to anything I've tried. What an amazing tasting burrito! The best burrito ever. Seriously, it's so good. Mmm mmm mmm

Very very slow. Took over 45min to get 2 tacos. Multiple parties that came after us were served in front of us. Not worth the wait.

Im not allergic to nuts in any way so I do not know for sure. However I would just place a call in and see what available options they have for you. Good luck!

This restaurant has been around for about…read moresix years, and I'll admit I had previously dismissed it because it's located in an outer strip of stores where Harmon and Bed Bath & Beyond once were. I truly wish I hadn't--because I was thoroughly impressed with the food, the décor, the service, and the extensive menu. There are so many dishes I want to come back and try. From the moment we walked in, the restaurant impressed us with its vibrant, themed décor and incredibly friendly staff who made us feel right at home. Warm tortilla chips with chunky salsa and glasses of water were brought to our table immediately after we sat down, which was a great start. They have a full-service bar, and while they don't offer frozen cocktails, we honestly didn't miss them. I had a coconut margarita, and my husband enjoyed a passionfruit rum cocktail. He doesn't drink tequila, so I asked if rum could be substituted, and they were more than happy to accommodate. He chose a Tajín rim, while I opted for sugar instead of salt. Both drinks were strong, flavorful, and served in really nice, heavy margarita glasses. We both chose specials from the House Special Grill, and wow--what a great decision. My husband had the skirt steak and jumbo shrimp, served with a creamy corn salsa, and he loved every bite. I ordered the grilled steak with sautéed onions, homemade tortillas, cactus pad (nopales), rice, and beans. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and perfectly prepared. We ended the night on a high note with dessert--one of the best flans I've ever had--paired with a glass of hot Mexican coffee. Absolutely delicious. Amazing food, great drinks, welcoming service, and a fun atmosphere. Highly recommend!

The food is top quality and service is excellent. the restaurant is also quite well decorated for such a miniscule place. The only caveat keeping this review from being five stars is the price. Mexican fare is known for being hearty, large portioned and affordable and having now patronized this establishment twice, I can say it is two of the three. The lofty price tag will unfortunately keep me from becoming a regular. Still, it is a nice treat once in a blue moon. Good show, overall. Fare: 5/5 Price: $$$

However, I'm happy to report that I dined here recently and had a better experience. Since the time of my initial review, La Casa remained in my periphery - mainly because my parents periodically visited and it was a frequent stop of one of my friends who lives in Bronxville. That being said, I was curious to check out La Casa again - and that opportunity came when my mother chose here to celebrate Mother's Day. La Casa is located just off the main commercial strips. The interior is pretty spacious with a bar towards the front of the restaurant and the main dining room split in two sections. The decor is somewhat under-toned with a cool color scheme and tasteful decor. This is in contrast with other Mexican restaurants that tend to go overboard with the kistch and warm colors. I will say the seats look a little tired, they could use some re-upholstering - and were a little lower to the ground than I expected. In addition to the indoor space, they have an outdoor section which was done up very nicely. The brunch menu contained a selection of apps, sides, quesadillas, tacos, and sides. We decided to start by splitting a few apps: brisket and al pastor tacos, a quesadilla, street corn, chips and guac, and more guac with tuna. All the apps were tasty - the biggest standouts for me were the quesadilla and the tacos which were all generously filled and had good flavor. For my main, I got the camarones a la diabla which were shrimp in a red pepper sauce placed atop beans and paired with bok choy. The dish was pretty good - the shrimp could have been a bit snappier, but I appreciate that they de-shelled them and the sauce and beans worked well with them. Dare I say the bok choy was the star of the dish? It had just enough flavor and added a needed green. We opted for dessert, and I got the grilled pineapple which was paired with (per the menu) vanilla ice cream or guanabana sorbet. I wasn't asked to choose, and was served the sorbet. I would have liked to have been given the option, but maybe that's all they had - fwiw the sorbet was good. The pineapple was candied and came as a large, thick ring - definitely needed a knife and fork to cut it up (which they provided); this was a good dish in concept but I think it can be executed better. Service was good, everyone was friendly and efficient. In my experience, service tends to be the weakest component of a meal on a holiday, but they did a great job. Overall, I had a good experience at La Casa. Even though it's not in my backyard, I would definitely return if the opportunity presented itself.

Everything felt watery, and while I understand that some locations may cater to people who prefer milder food with more moisture, it just didn't work for me. I had the beef birria. The texture was all right, but it was very saucy without much kick. It honestly tasted more like a generic meat filling rather than something with the bold flavor I'd normally associate with birria. The rice was forgettable, there were a lot of chips, and the drinks were okay. This was just an average spot. I wouldn't come back unless they made some noticeable improvements. Feels a bit unreasonable to have drinks and entrees be similar prices. The waiter was attentive and efficient. The environment is casual, relaxed, yet festive. Great place to go to wind down a week.
