The Taco Stand - A Must Every Time Wow--there's honestly nothing bad to say about The Taco Stand. My wife and I first discovered this gem while staying in San Diego. We had just checked into our room at the Marriott Vacation Club and noticed a line out the door of this little place across the street. That's always a good sign, so we made sure to stop in--and we were blown away by how good the food was. Fast forward to this past Cinco de Mayo, we were staying in Newport Coast and spotted another Taco Stand location. No question where we were having dinner that night! I ordered the Al Pastor taco and the Baja taco, both served on fresh, homemade tortillas they make right there in the restaurant. I also grabbed a margarita from the cooler, which paired perfectly with the food. The moment I took the first bite of my Baja taco, I knew we'd made the right decision--again. The flavors are just on point, and the quality is consistent. They also make all of their sauces in-house, and there's a self-serve station where you can help yourself to whatever you like. The selection is great, and the marinated red onions they offer are amazing--super flavorful and the perfect topping for just about anything. One small hiccup--the fish in my Baja taco only covered about half the tortilla. I went up to the counter and showed them, and without hesitation, they told me to enjoy that one and said they'd make me another one right away. Great service and great attitude. The prices are incredibly reasonable. Three tacos came to under $13, and the margarita was about $9. For fresh, handmade, flavorful food like this, it's a steal. Fun fact about this location: it used to be an old Taco Bell that had to close down due to issues in the area. A few years later, it reopened as The Taco Stand--and what a comeback. They've turned it into something truly special. If you're anywhere near one of their locations, go. The food, atmosphere, and service make it a can't-miss spot. read more

My 8 month pregnant wife ordered catering and they completely flaked the day of event. We ordered catering for our baby shower and had to scramble to find food for 40 people within an hour. They put us in a terrible situation and caused a lot of stress. Still haven't heard back. Very rude and unprofessional, I would never recommend catering or going to the taco stand in general. You know the food will be good when you pull up and the line is out the door. There is a bit of a wait during busy times but the place is vibes. It is on the smaller end but we found a parking spot and just ate in our car. We got a burrito and carne asada are fries which was massive and can easily be shared between 2-3 people. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Long line & limited tables. We got Baja fish taco, carne asada, el pastor, spicy shrimp taco, & surf/turf fries. They were generous with portions, especially with cheese & avocados on the fries. They make their own tortillas there. They have something that looks like a pasta maker except it makes the tortillas. I liked their tortillas & ate them all. (I often dont eat the tortillas as they are too filling. But these were good!!!) They have a salsa bar next to the fountain drink machine. Ankther long kine for the salsa & the restroom. Securing a table felt like survival test. Some rude lady tried to take the table my husband got after asking the previous party if they were almost finished & confirming they were. The rude woman said "i saw it from over there". Some people are just rude & not too bright. She hadn't even ordered the food yet nor her party there yet. She sat at the table with us looking quite unpleasant. I said, "we can share a table & enjoy the food". No reaction or sign of civility. Whatever. So we ignored her from then on. Eventually she moved to another table but still didn't order food until we finished our food and were leaving. (Her friend arrived then). Just be polite to others & dont show your ugliness when people are trying to enjoy their Sunday afternoon. So except for the woman who behaved poorly, it was a delicious & enjoyable meal. we love the taco stand in orange so was hoping this location has the same standards but unfortunately not :( discovered a hair in the steak quesadilla. the tacos were good, however. the churros are freshly made however it was a little undercooked for my liking, still tasted like raw dough in the center, without being more airy and light. like uncooked pancake batter. there is a parking lot but it felt like it fed most of the employee vehicles more than customers? Not gonna lie, I was resistant to trying this place out because I miss the old Taco Bell. Funny enough, I was recommended this spot while out of the county. Word of this chain has spread. So glad I finally gave it a chance, because the food is fantastic every time, and I've been to a few locations. I go for the shrimp tacos and a beer, but sometimes I'll get a burrito to go. They also have breakfast burritos in the AM, which I don't think you can order online. Service is serviceable. Can take a while to get your food sometimes. Best to go when out-of-town crowds are at a minimum, as there's not a ton of seating during busy hours. read more
