shrimp tacos & california burrito & nopal taco & al pastor taco

Everything was delicious! Coldest coronas I ever did see.... churros! insane! The california burrito is something i would get time & time again except i wanna try everything on the menu

Service was quick although line was long. California burrito was made with flour tortilla, steak inside was amazing and thick cuts. Sauces are all free so definitely stock up on those. Loaded fries were on the heavier side but still don't regret getting them. Outside vibe was nice, near the beach so it has that vibe, everybody is super chill

Was hungry after checking out sum beaches and LOVE this chain. Idk what it is but this is the best Cali burrito I've had. It's consistent and you can't go wrong here. Me n my bfs go to so far for a good burrito!!

There's a small parking lot and street parking available. The food was good and affordable. The Baja fish is mostly batter and very little fish. The spicy shrimp taco was good. The burritos are big sizes and very filling. I like the self service salsa bar, but I noticed people took a long time to get their salsas and it held up the wait.

Had the best churros of my life, and a phenomenal burrito here. Amazing and friendly staff, casual, fun atmosphere, and delicious food. Fresh, hot, and great portions of everything. I got the Cali burrito and enjoyed every bite :-) the steak was perfectly cooked, and the flavours all worked so well together. The salsa verde was perfect, and I wish I could buy some to take home with me. A must-go spot if you're in Laguna!

This taco stand has a lot going for it! I appreciate the limes, salsas etc being self serve off to the side. That's perfection to me! The tacos were delicious! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seating is a bit cramped, they could ditch a few tables to make it more comfortable but we overall loved this taco stand![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's very loud which was fine for us, but skip with small kids who get overwhelmed with loud places.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Get the chips and guacamole, and try out all the salsas at the self serve bar!

I love tacos & these were amaze balls! Service wasn't anything to write home about but the food makes this well over 5 stars! We went big...burritos, tacos, guac, chips, anything on the menu, we ordered it! And the only picture is of the darn menu! The food was enjoyed so much that I didn't get one picture! So go get it to see for yourself:) The only things that were not greatest...parking is challenging, always a line (because of the good food), limited seating area & crowded/hard to get salsa bar. But worth the challenge. Try this restaurant.

Always a long line, locals and visitors alike, this joint is legit! Having grown up eating street tacos & burritos in LA my whole life, I consider myself a good judge when it comes to Cali-Mex food. I honestly want expecting much, especially in Laguna Beach...I was wrong. The Taco Stand is legit. Their Cali burrito, which consists of your choice of meat along with guacamole, fires, and normal burrito fixins, it always hits the spot. Be prepared to grip this burrito with 2 hands cuz it's big & heavy! For light eaters, definitely can share. AND, for only $10.81...I know, odd price, you get so much bang for the dollar, which is hard to find now when an $18 burrito is common place. The sauce bar offers cilantro sauce, which is creamy and my favorite, a chipotle sauce, and pickled onions & jalepenos. I always order the same thing so I can't comment on their tacos, but would fully expect them to be just as delicious. Seating and parking can be challenging, particularly when crowded. Would highly recommend!

We stumbled upon this place when our usual Laguna taco spot was closed, and quickly realized it was the exact place we had been hearing about for months. So I am not exaggerating when I say fate brought us here us here! The chill vibe was perfect for us, and the food did not disappoint. Good people and great service sealed the deal ... we already can't wait to go back! Here's what we got: - Carne asada burrito - Mar y tierra (surf & turf) burrito - Mushroom taco - Camaron (spicy shrimp) taco - Pollo asado (grilled chicken) taco - Corn on the cob - Churros - they are actually perfect! Literal rave reviews from everyone, even our very picky 15 year old. They did not miss! Wish we got more photos, but we were grubbin ... hope you enjoy as much as we did!

Tacos: 4.25 out of 5 Ordered 3 tacos (spicy shrimp, pollo asado, & carne asada). Fresh tortilla, well seasoned, & cooked well. I enjoyed the shrimp & asada the most. Service: 3.5 out of 5 Waited over 25 mins for tacos during the lunch hour. Management should really consider hiring more employees to handle both the in store & take out orders Environment: 4 out of 5 Fast casual taco spot. Overall: 4 out of 5 The fresh tortilla is a huge selling point. Beware you may have a long wait.

The Taco Stand is such a must try spot!! Parking is limited and so is seating. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's always crowded with a long line from when we have gone.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] BUT let me tell you that's it's definitely worth trying. There is a reason the line is long. The tacos are amazing , fresh, and delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You can even watch them making them which is fun and passes the time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The Al Pastor taco you have to try ! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small place with some outdoor seating and lots of staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We also recommend the churros which are thick and not crunchy. It's sooo good and we will be coming back

Glad to see The Taco Stand has multiple locations. I love the food and it makes it very convenient. The burritos aren't stuffed with beans and rice like most Mexican restaurants. The price is also amazing. It's a small parking lot, but cars are usually coming and going frequently. The California burrito and the Mar Y Tierra which are my favorites. Their food is the closest I can get to the ones in San Diego (since that was their initial location). Service is fast and there's some seating outside so I could sit outside with my dog. Definitely coming again!

Pescado burrito

The Taco Stand has multiple locations in Orange County, and they have been around for a while, so I finally got around to trying it. The Laguna Beach location has a small parking lot, and there's a good amount of both indoor and outdoor seating. It's not the cleanest seating area, but it gets the job done. The prices are very fair, especially for the area. We ordered the Pescado burrito and the California burrito. My husband enjoyed his California burrito, but I was quite disappointed in my Pescado burrito. There was fish at the top and bottom of the burrito, but the entire middle was full of cabbage. Additionally, all of the sauce sunk to the bottom, so it was pretty tasteless until I was almost done eating it. They really need to distribute the fillings better throughout the burrito. Based on my experience, I would not come back.

Do they serve alcohol?

I've seen bottles of cerveza in their refrigerator but didn't see anything else. No bar.

Salsa had a little kick to it but not too spicy. Ordered the parrillada; the chicken was tender and moist. The shredded pork carnitas were crispy yet juicy. The steak was perfectly medium rare and tender to eat. Shrimp was cooked beautifully and firm. The corn was cold but it was still good! Came with a side of onions and jalapenos. The flour tortillas were taco sized. Great shareable plate for 2-3 people. Had the virgin margarita and it was one of the best virgin drinks I've had. Not just a bunch of sugar and soda water like other mocktails. It had freshly made syrups and with chunks of cucumbers. So refreshing!

The sign said to wait to be seated, but my dad waited around for about 10 minutes without seeing anyone at the host stand. The bartender told him it was okay to go outside & find an available table, so we weren't trying to skip any rules...we were just following what we were told. When we finally spoke with the hostess, she explained she was trying to manage multiple tables, which was understandable, but the communication could have been a little clearer. Once we sat down, everything was great. The drinks were delicious, we enjoyed a quick snack with chips and guacamole, & the service was friendly & efficient. We didn't try the food, but it seems like a nice spot for a casual drink or quick bite. Overall, we had a good experience and would come back.

I had been looking forward to trying it, but unfortunately my experience was a little mixed. First, the parking situation was incredibly disappointing. There's no valet, and finding street parking in the surrounding area was absolutely insane--and this was on a weekday! I actually like to walk and am in good shape, but I finally found a spot several blocks away and couldn't help wondering what everyone else does for parking. My husband got much luckier and happened to snag a spot near the restaurant when he arrived from work. For dinner, I was excited to try the seafood enchiladas, but they were SO spicy. I normally enjoy a little heat, but the level of spice completely overwhelmed the dish for me, especially since I don't remember seeing anything on the menu indicating that they were particularly spicy. I'll take some responsibility here because I didn't say anything to our server, who was actually wonderful. I'm sure they would have happily addressed it or remade the dish had I spoken up. The sides didn't stand out to me, either. Our usual go-to for Mexican food is Calo Kitchen in Laguna Niguel, and based on this particular meal, I didn't think South of Nick's was quite as good. That said, everyone else at our table seemed to really enjoy what they ordered, so I think I may have just had an unfortunate choice with my dish. The service was great, and I'd be willing to give it another try and order something different next time. I'm just not sure I want to deal with that parking again!

Going down the list of dishes I tried here: -Miso Garlic Noodles: Solid and good flavor. Nothing special and overpriced for what they were. -Avocado Wontons: These were interesting. It was like a vegan poke only that it's watermelon. Not bad, but the 'wontons' weren't actual wontons. -Ahi Poke Stack: Solid poke and I enjoyed the creamy avocado. Also a bit overpriced considering the portion size. -Matcha Martini: Pretty disappointing. Couldn't really taste any matcha. Only tasted like a sweet and creamy cocktail. -Chilaquiles: Overall enjoyable. I liked the crispy chips. However, the servers forgot my eggs which was annoying, but they brought it out later with an additional egg. -Crispy Fried Calamari: Tasty and I liked the sauce. Calamari wasn't the greatest quality itself though. Service was pretty slow and the servers seemed to forget many details when taking orders which caused service delays wasn't optimal. The interior was decent and not dirty. For parking, there's a good amount located at and around the Pavilions parking lot. Overall, I probably wouldn't come back here again. It just seemed like a standard chain restaurant. It is located walking distance from the beach though.
