Partner and I have been craving some Korean fried chicken and spicy rice cakes and decided to try The Third Place. We were pleasantly surprised! The service was good and despite a little hiccup, they addressed the issue right away. Interior was clean and noise level wasn't too loud neither. The Korean fried chicken was great! I'm not sure if they use a rice flour or something a little different but it was lightly buttered and crunchy! We got Original and a Honey flavor and both were delicious. The spicy rice cakes were good too. I believe every place has their own "style" and we liked it here. Not too spicy and a good amount of rice cakes and other ingredients.

I've ordered out before. But finally went in to dine. Service was a little slow. The place was nice. It was kind of funny to see k drama playing on the tv. I love the BanChan with crispy chicken, chefs kiss. Like how do they make the chicken so crispy. It's so delicious.

Third Place is a gem in downtown Redmond. The food is excellent, the portions are generous, the cooking is fast, and the waitstaff is attentive. Ingredients are fresh and bright. Everything seems cooked to order. My favorites dishes are the japchae and squid. If you are new to Korean food, then I think the most accessible dishes to try first would be the wings, boneless onion chicken, and beef short ribs.

I had a really fantastic time at the Third Place a couple years ago and decided to pull up once again for some Korean fried chicken on a Friday night at around 7:30 PM. It's located in downtown Redmond, so parking can be a tad difficult, but there's a small lot on the other side of the Half Price Book that is free. Contrary to my last visit where the restaurant had a line out the door, it was almost completely empty this time around and that was the first red flag. My overall impression was nothing tasted quite as it should have and everything was just subpar, not sure that I'll ever be back. Cheese Spicy Rice Cakes (2/5): The rice cakes themselves felt like they were undercooked - they had zero chew and just broke apart when you bit into it. The sauce was really odd: thin, not sweet enough, oddly fishy, and didn't taste like gochujang at all. Would not get this again. Sweet Potato Fries (3/5): The most mid sweet potato fries ever. Needed some more crunch crunch and could do with a little more salt. Yangnyum Fried Chicken (2.75/5): The chicken itself came out super fresh and wasn't too dry. However, once again, the sauce was all wrong. No gochujang flavor again and was super watery, so it just completely sogged up the crunch on the chicken. It felt like eating soggy fried chicken that was spicy, but also had no flavor.

After looking for a Korean restaurant that had good reviews with both cheesy corn and rice cakes, we came across The Third Place. The restaurant can be easily missed, as it's nestled in a plaza and the signage isn't the best. We walked in around 1pm, and there was only one other table of customers so we were seated immediately. We ordered cheesy corn, spicy rice cakes, the spicy pork lunch box and beef bulgogi lunch box. The two lunch boxes had a variety of different items from broccoli, kimchi, macaroni salad, glass noodle salad, potatoes, a piece of dumpling, a couple orange chicken and a chicken wing in addition to the main dish with rice (all for $18.99), which isn't bad price wise as it was enough for two people or two meals. The corn was extremely disappointing, as the corn was warm and the cheese wasn't melted just a glob of cheese, especially dine it was $12, not worth it in my opinion. The spicy cheesy rice cakes were also disappointing, the texture of the rice cakes were good but it was far from spicy and again the cheese wasn't melted, just a glob. The pictures for both are deceiving. Overall, glad we gave it a try but with the plethora of other Korean restaurants I wouldn't come back here.

The trouble with business travels is sitting in your hotel room researching dinner ideas, nearby restaurants... I decided that tonight I just needed something a little spicy, something tasty, and not too distant from my hotel. Tonight I chose "The Third Place", a small family owned and operated Korean restaurant. I'm glad I did...!!! I ordered the Kimchi Stew, it arrived quickly, boiling hot...and goodness, it was fabulous. Just the right amount of spice, and full of flavor. Also, in traditional Korean fashion, banchan is also served. Banchan comes in many styles and varieties, this serving was pickled vegetables. Yummy...!!! I've not been to this restaurant before, but the service was spot on, the food remarkable, and the costs agreed with my pocket book. I most certainly will return...I hope to see you there.

Great place in Renton to meet up with friends for Korean dishes, especially fried chicken! We usually get the original fried chicken wings and a couple of appetizers to share. The restaurant isn't too big so there might be a wait depending on when you get there. There is usually street parking nearby since it's located in a shopping center.

Spicy Seafood Stir-Fried Udon, it was ok.

We decided to try a new Korean place besides Mama's Kitchen in Factoria. This place has good reviews, and I think the good reviews are mainly for the fried chicken. We ordered Tofu soup, spicy seafood udon, and honey garlic fried chicken. The tofu soup didn't taste like typical Korean tofu soup, I would still go back to Mama's Kitchen for it. The spicy seafood udon was ok, not too good not too bad. We loved the honey garlic fried chicken the best! The chicken was flavorful, crispy, and not too salty nor too oily. Next time, we plan to try the original friend chicken.

Tteokboki mad does not taste right. The cheese also is crusted over it and not mixed into it. The fries are soggy and not in a good way.

Great portions. Tasty bulgogi. Crispy fried chicken. I loved the side dishes and the japchae too. Tried: Half and Half Chicken ($22.99) Bulgogi Pork Lunch Box ($16.99) Located in downtown Redmond.

My go to spot for great korean fried chicken and creamy seafood udon. Third time here and it continues to be consistently good. The chicken is large, juicy, crispy, and full of flavor. I've tried most of the flavors - our favorite is probably the honey garlic. But my favorite dish of all time is the creamy udon with seafood. Sooo good and the perfect pairing with the fried chicken! It's great to also bring home as leftovers and heat up and add more to it. We've also tried their sister restaurant Underground Kitchen in Federal Way which also had awesome korean fried chicken.

Half and half chicken wings, corn cheese, tofu soup, spicy rice cake

Saucy and spicy wings, 15 wings for $23, call button for service is such a nice feature.

We loved the hot stone beef Bibimbap and the side dishes that came with it. The fried chicken was very crispy but also juicy on the inside. We were very full. We would have liked if the servers automatically offered us more side dishes instead of having to ask ourselves. The place filled up more as it got closer to noon. It was a great gloomy overcast day meal. We'll be back!

Where is parking for this place?

the parking space is limited in front of the restaurant. However, you can also park on Gillman street and walk thru the alley.

Any Korean chicken that is large pieces, like drumstick and thigh, and not wings? Not a fan of wings.

I do not think so. (You can try to ask them)

For a group of four adults with a normal hungry, we ordered a small beef set and fried chicken, which was plenty. The banchan was fantastic, especially the Myungranjut. You also cannot dine as a party of 1 here - minimum two people! I've been to Seoul meat 3 times now - once with just the missus and I (a mistake, too few people), and the other two times with one other person (three total - good amount, could use more). The most recent time was a rainy Thursday evening, when I hadn't eaten all day, and was famished. For $51/person (for the cheaper option), it's pretty good, but the ribeye steak option is meh since the marinated rib fingers are goated. It's AYCE, except for ribeye which is one order per person. Two hours max (we barely lasted 75 minutes), but unless its a weekend or they're super slow, you should be in and out pretty fast. Service is very quick, prompt, and polite. They changed our grill three times in our most recent visit. It wasn't busy when we arrived and they sat us immediately. The wait staff will check in with you periodically - sometimes it'll feel overbearing but I prefer that to the opposite end of the spectrum where they literally have to be flagged down every time (which sometimes happened in our first two visits because it was more busy). Ambiance is a kpop track - I think there's also music videos? I dunno, I'm not paying attention to that aspect - you come here for the AYCE food. Try the octopus, marinated beef brisket, marinated rib finger, short ribs, and steamed egg. You won't regret it. Also: parking is in the general totem lake plaza. There's a bunch more parking in the green lot but you can always park slightly farther away in the blue lot, or outdoors.
