Awful!!!!. Took over 30 minutes to get two drinks because they "ran out of champagne" at 11:30 during Sunday brunch. The restaurant was less than half full, so they can't say it was busy. The chef forgot the egg on two different meals.The manager said it was a "new chef" but it easy to read what's in the dish before sending it out. When i asked it took another 15 minutes for an over easy fried egg??? The waitress was lovely, but we won't be back. read more

This was our first time at The Trap North for brunch. I cannot say enough about the poutine - crispy tots smothered in cheese and sausage gravy, topped with a PERFECTLY cooked egg. The Carnitas Bowl was very, very good, and a spicy Bloody was the perfect accompaniment. Our server Andrea was super-friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and attentive. The food was excellent. I ordered the French dip and it was great, from the amount of meat to the perfect type of bread. My daughter ordered the short rib grilled cheese, and it was perfectly hot and delicious. My wife ordered brunch and she said everything was also hot and delicious (pancake combo). I have been to the original trap and I enjoyed my experience much better. The outdoor seating area was full of bees and mosquitoes which were very disruptive during our meal as we had to keep shoeing them off. We shared the pizza, which we thought was very doughy, the cauliflower bites and chicken sandwich were good. The service was also good. read more

Host your event here! The downstairs space is absolutely beautiful and private and served as the perfect spot for my birthday dinner! We had a private waiter and we were able to order off the whole menu. The planning team made it easy to fully customize the event and made it so seamless! Everything looked great from outdoors and also indoors. Beautiful facility, for sure. Maybe it was an off day, but looking at the other reviews, perhaps it wasn't. I can't review the food since we didn't want to wait forever to get served. We arrived at 12:15 PM today for dinner. As we were waiting to get seated, the hostess was on the phone with her back turned to us. A few minutes went by when one of the waitresses saw us and then seated us. Then the wait again. As we were waiting to get served, we observed four waitresses shooting the breeze on the deck doing nothing. Hey gals! You have customers! We were there for a good ten minutes with no service when we decided to leave. Owners of The Trap - you won't be open long until you teach your wait staff to actually do their jobs. read more

Thought this place would be fantastic, but the food was incredibly overpriced and everyone's meal was over cooked. Someone at our our table got a beer but the glass they gave her was hot. So the glass cracked. Then the server never came back with another beer. Just didn't live up to expectations. read more

I wanted this new-to-the-area restaurant to be really good...it disappointed! My wife and I hardly threw a challenge, either. Two people. We waited about 35 minutes for a table, not crazy for a Saturday night at 7:30 PM. The wait was closer to 50 minutes despite there being numerous open tables. They take reservations so that may have been part of it, though I did hear a host(ess) say something about not enough silverware. When we finally got to our table, it was at least 20 minutes before a server came over and introduced herself. She apologized for the wait, but still...20 minutes to acknowledge a customer? Then it took another 15-20 minutes for our drinks to arrive. One blueberry ale that looked like it had been poured 15 minutes earlier (and was an inch from the top of the pint glass, no fresh blueberries in the beer) and one Work Wife signature drink that was actually very good. We order a Bavarian pretzel and calamari as appetizers. The pretzel was underwhelming, not very hot. The calamari was very good, but again not hot. Then came our dinner relatively quickly. My Apple-pressed grilled cheese was pretty good, but my fries were cold and I had to ask for ketchup and salt (no salt or pepper on the table??) My wife's Green Goddess Chicken sandwich was ho-hum...not much flavor. Her tater tots (which are an up charge) were cold. We didn't chance it with dessert. Our server looked overwhelmed, and I would give her a 5/10. When a customer is drinking a soda, they should get refills without asking. I was never even asked so I paid $3 for a rocks glass half full of ice w/Diet Coke. Overall, the atmosphere is great. The building is beautiful and decorated well. The place in this location is very new, and they obviously have some bugs to work out. There were a couple guys who looked like managers (or owners) bopping around in their sport coats, and they both walked by our table several times, however neither ever once acknowledged us or asked how our experience was. That's poor leadership for a new establishment. I might give them another chance someday because of their great menu selection, but this $130 first impression was not good. read more

Our party of 4 were excited to try this new place. From the start the experience did not go well. While waiting for a table one of the staff banged into one of our party while trying to carry two chairs through the crowd. No apologies. Once seated we waited too long just to get water. Drinks took too long and were just ok. We ordered appetizers. Three different kinds of wings to be prepared "well done" and soup. The soup arrived cool. We asked for cheese to sprinkle on the soup. It took several min to come back and the soup was now cold. It had to be sent back. New soup arrived, still not hot. No wings yet. Girl took our main order and we waited a long time. Finally main orders arrived. Still no appitizers. Burgers were good. Ceaser salad was odd. Just long leaves of lettuce, not cut up. Anchovies tasted wrong. Pizza was a joke. was like Stouffers pizza only worse. It was like regular bread with tomato paste smeared on it with crushed red peppers. Very little cheese at all. Not Hot. asked for more cheese which did not come. Pizza was not edible. THEN our appitizer wings ARRIVED but with no side ranch or blue cheese. Although we ordered them crispy they came under cooked. We sent them back to be cooked some more. When they arrived again they still were not crispy; still no blue cheese or ranch. Our waitress was trying her best and very, very apologetic. A couple of women at the next table told us that they, too, were disappointed and not happy. They will not be back they told us. Great spacious building with few parking spaces and close together. Drinks were measured and service was fine at the bar. HOWEVER, the two apps we ordered were served cool/cold. We sent them back to get them done correctly. They came back almost the same. They took the nachos off the bill but not the Brussels sprouts. Bartender Emily tried to do her best and we certainly did not fault her for the kitchen's issues. People next to me have been 3 times and said it's been inconsistent even having two of the same drinks in the same day. Another person's med rare burger was raw and tasteless. No managed ever came over. He should have been told of any issues and dealt with it or at least apologized. It's almost like he didn't dare ask. Staff is nice, very cool atmosphere. Inside is nice and open with big bar, outside deck and bar is really nice. Menu is good, but food has been really inconsistent. If you order pizza, don't expect pizza. It wasn't even really a flatbread. It was a thick flat dough with toppings. Flavors were still there though. This is a great new place for night life and live music. Good drink and food menu. However i wouldnt recommend their brunch on the weekends. I came at 1 pm wanting lunch but they gave us the brunch menu which was very limited and was solely breakfast foods. The brunch menu includes More drinks than food on it. When we asked for an actual lunch menu they told us lunch doesnt start until 2pm?? That makes no sense. Any other day of the week is a great time. read more

Brand new place, so I give them leniency on wait times etc. It took us a long time to get our food. Tough with kids, but will let it go. They have kinks to work out. Atmosphere is nice being new. Place is gorgeous. Might be a bit loud with young kids The food was nowhere near what I expected. Not impressed. A lot of frozen items. I can do that at home. I got the vibe that this was a quality establishment. The food didn't do it for me. It is bar grade at best. The owner was there as well. He seems a bit rude and arrogant. Likely won't be back. Been here like 4 times with friends and cannot emphasize how bad the service is. It's not the fact that servers are rude because they are nice but it doesn't matter if it's busy or if it's slow, you will have to wait at least 15+ minutes for each drink once you ask for it. Bar service is slow, table service is slow, and the drinks are not good enough to have to wait 15-25 minutes in between each drink. Also tell the cook that maybe throw the tots and fries in for an extra 2 minutes or so they don't still look frozen read more

Been here quite a few times, I will now only come here when Khirah is working. She is the best bartender I've ever dealt with. She is so positive and absolutely hilarious. A lot of the bartending staff are amazing. Some need some training. There's a short blonde girl who definitely needs some help. Overall great place love the people. read more

I have been coming to the Trap North since they opened, and had no issues until this past weekend. Previously I had been met with very kind and attentive waitresses & bartenders (Bella & Sophia were both some of the best). HOWEVER, this past Friday, I saw just how much of a joke this place actually was, which isn't actually surprising considering it's basically run by a bunch of 20 year olds. After experiencing a problem, one which I certainly disagree with, my friends and I decided to leave. However our waitress and another 'security guard' (Ella and Jared) were both rude and continued to laugh at us and the situation while we were talking to another (extremely kind) security guard Gio. This was less-then professional behavior, however was certainly not the end of the world and our group left. The next day, we gave the manager a call to express out distaste for the situation, looking for NOTHING except to inform him of his staff members behaviors so hopefully he could speak with them and prevent it from happening again, but his behavior was even worse. During the course of a 10 minute phone call this 'manager' laughed at our concerns, made accusations about our personal lives and essentially told us the issue was all of our fault. At one point he even went as far as to laugh and say 'what do you want me to do, go up to her right now and fire her?". The man, STEVE, is a joke of a manager, and if the people higher up then him are okay with him dealing with customer complaints and concerns this way then this entire establishment is one as well. I will NEVER be coming back and will make sure every single person I talk with doesn't either. read more

Fun concept, good service; however I did not enjoy their caesar salad. The greens were tough and had not been dried so the dressing slide off the leaves and was rather watery. The single piece of toast (crouton?) was a bit stale and poorly seasoned. I may try them again. After all, they are new and may need time to adjust. read more

Service was good. Food was mediocre. We went on a Tuesday when there were very few customers. We had two burgers, two beers and a glass of wine, $68 with tip. We ordered our burgers medium well. They came our medium rare but we were hungry and foolishly accepted that. The worst disappointment was the French fries. They were the thin type that you would find in the frozen food section of your grocery store. About every other place that sells burgers would be better than The Trap. we waited quite a while before we tried this relatively new place. We won't be going back. Annually we come back to RI and meet up with our friends at Thirsty Beaver, this year a friend recommended Trap. Wow so glad we did. What a great place. There was about 15 of us, all arriving different times and the outside bar area was perfect. Just an awesome vibe and the absolute best service have experienced anywhere in a long time. Bella was absolutely phenomenal, within moments of guests arriving, she was getting drink order, she was very attuned to when someone needed something. I will happily recommend Trap North to family and friends. read more
