For a small town this place isn't half bad. I came in on a Monday and it was crowded. Parking is not good at all but once you move past that there is a lot to choose from on the menu. My dayghter, daughter, in law and I were at your restaurant on Saturday feb7th in the afternoon. Daughter ordered reuban sandwich with soda. Son in law ordered fried zucchini, and I ordered chicken parm. We were they 15 minutes waiting for our food and it was served cold. Told the waitress who wasn't very friendly, that our meals were cold. So we didn't have to pay for them. So we didn't get to eat. Which we were hungry, we go there often and the food is usually good. This is such an awesome place. Good old school Italian food and plenty of other options for lunch and dinner. It was so good that we came here three times during our trip to Pittsburgh. I love that feeling when you go to a restaurant and you can feel relaxed, as well as, the food being amazing. Our entire friends and family kept sharing bites of food since everyone was so pleased with their dishes. I had the eggplant parmigiana, and the seafood fantasy. Both excellent and the seafood was huge servings of good crab meat and scallops. Desserts are homemade and the staff are so wonderful. A must visit. read more

This establishment has been around since 1967 and it's always busy! We started with the calamari. Good amount, crispy. Could use some banana peppers. Marinara dipping sauce was good. Hubby got Veal Romano with salad and coleslaw. Good portion. Wish they had more sides to choose from. I got the Linguine Fantasy which had shrimp, mussels, baby clams, crab meat and scallops. 2/5 mussels were empty. Could use more seafood. It wasn't bad, but I've had better. It's a good place. Driving through PA on the way to NYC, our family of 6 pulled off the highway in search of a place to stretch our arms, and fill our bellies. Stopped at the Union Grill (walk down into the basement, seems weird at first, but then you step into a great little restaurant). Ordered a burger with cheese and the usual toppings. They asked how I wanted it cooked (medium), and they brought it out with a little pink in the middle. Refreshing when that actually happens, and it's not just well done like always. The kids size pizza (4 slice I think they called it?) was great. Chicken fingers were as expected, and one of our kids loved the spaghetti and meatballs. But it was a huge dish (we ordered the small). Two kids could have split it. Totally forget the servers name, but she was so friendly, and had our food and refills out to us without having to wonder about them. Great experience overall! read more

This place deserves 5 stars and more! Fantastic experience here. We stopped by for what we thought would be a quick lunch but ended up staying because we loved it so much. Our waitress Anastasia was very good at her job. She was friendly and took care of us during our time there. I started out with a lemon drop martini and it was the best drink I've had in a long time. I highly recommend it. I also had the wedding soup and it was very good. For my entree I went with the chicken parmigiana with pasta and marinara. The serving was huge! My meal was simply delicious. I don't have one single complaint. My boyfriend started out with a salad and said it was good and fresh. He went with the chicken romano for his entree. His serving was also huge! He said that it was really good and cooked just right. After eating we decided to stop by the bar for a few drinks. Our bartender Chloe was fantastic! It's been years since I've been here. It's a place where we would go when my parents came to visit me at college. It remains as popular it seems know as it did way back then. We went on a Friday night around 7:30 and of course it was packed. They estimated 30-40 minutes for our 6 top. They were just about perfect on the guess. There isn't a lot of space to wait here so we went back to the back and waited. When we were seated our server was there immediately to greet us. She was very friendly and attentive. Our drinks were ordered and delivered quickly and our order was taken. We were given a bread basket of soft Italian bread for the table. One of our party ordered fried zucchini as an app and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Our main dishes came surprisingly quick. My son enjoyed his salad with Buffalo chicken on it. I ordered a Reuben and it came with a bunch of fresh chips. I really enjoyed my sandwich and the chips. One person had angel hair pasta with a oil, pine nuts, fresh tomatoes, spinach and I believe chicken. They seemed to really enjoy it. One had stuffed banana peppers as a main. He said it was decent, not exceptional. Two had meatball subs which had fresh made meatballs and chips as the side. While I don't get down here as much as in the past I would come again. read more

So we decided to give the Union Grill a try tonight and WOW, why haven't we been here before! Fantastic Service by our waitress, Selena! Definitely asking for her next time! So my wife and I were seated after a few minute wait in a section of the restaurant where there were only two booths due to Covid(we loved it) our son and his girlfriend came a few minutes after we got there. So my wife and I ordered the Fried Zucchini for an appetizer(Fantastic w/Horseradish Sauce) and ordered the Carbonara Pizza (also Fantastic). The Union Grill is Definitely a Diamond in the Rough! We ate lunch at The Union Grill last week during a busy lunch rush. It was our first dining experience here. We parked on the street (bring quarters!). I wasn't sure if we were entering the restaurant correctly but, yes! You enter the side street entrance under the awning! It's a casual restaurant. I ordered the Chicken Focaccia. It came with homemade chips and a side of the housemade vinaigrette, which totally made the entire sandwich experience. The server mentioned it can be purchased by the bottle and I'm kicking myself for not having her add it to the check! My husband had a Cajun Chicken Salad. Nothing was wrong with the salad but he hasn't added any commentary to make me think it was an exceptional salad experience. Our server was incredible. I wish I could remember her name. I think it started with a "C." She was friendly, helpful and stopped frequently during our quick lunch. Service was, indeed, very quick for how busy they seemed. It is not appropriate to learn you only accept certain card products at the time a check is left at a table. Some consumers only use certain credit cards as a result of the rewards those specific cards provide. If I'm coming to your establishment and willing to pay for a large groups check due to having a restaurant specific card and then am told I cannot use this... why did we come in the first place? Not a great customer experience... Copper Kettle, Al & Reubens, Angelos, or any of the other locally owned and run establishments would welcome my family's next group outing. read more
