Great food, just a bit pricy. Would be nice if they had a set lunch menu, not just 3 specials. They have small portions of pasta, but they don't come with a salad. We came across this place per accident. We we're hungry and said let's try it out. It's downstairs and beautiful inside. You're treated with respect. We had a great appetizer breaded zucchini which was good. My wife and daughters pasta was delicious. My son and I had the BBQ pizza. It was superb. The waitress Selena was Absolutely amazing. Cool place. Made a trip to Wildthing stadium and stopped here to eat. Zucchini for the app was good stuff. Ordered meatball hoagie and a Roberta! Homemade meatballs were very good and the Roberta, which is a Rachel but made with Roast Beef was a nice touch. They put fries and slaw on it and toast the bread. read more

Was in Washington for a funeral and the night before we were looking for a place to eat. Found this on YELP, read reviews and decided to try it. What a find. We ordered the garlic rolls. They were huge and delicious!! Our salads were generic, nothing special but passable. My wife had the pecan chicken and I had the caprese chicken. Both of the dishes were great! My chicken was tender and really well done. The atmosphere was really nice. We took dessert back to the hotel. My wife had the raspberry cheesecake and I had the lemoncello cheesecake. The pieces were just the right size and since we were really full (again those garlic rolls!) we really got to enjoy them later. This is a terrific restaurant!! read more

Had a great experience! Went on a Monday night and we knew the food had to be good because the line was out the door! Loved the ambience and the place was hopping with lively conversation and happy people. Had about a 20 minute wait for a table but it was worth it, as was the wait for the food. The place was packed! Our server was fantastic! Our table of 5 (which included a child) all enjoyed our entrees, which were hot and plentiful! Most of us took home to go containers. One way to see the essentials of a restaurant is when you're just about the only customer. That's been our privilege at our two stops at The Union Grill, a meticulously maintained, reliable, friendly spot in downtown Washington, Pa. The Grille occupies the basement floor in the economically teetering center of the city, marked only by the sign on the awning over the steps leading down from the sidewalk. Two years ago, we found it only by Yelping. Hear this: if you're on I-70 for a long drive, this is a worthwhile stop. Our usual itinerary from Indiana east brings us through town in mid-afternoon, a time when many restaurants darken the dining room and leave service to the bartender. Not here. Both times we've walked in at 2:30 pm, the place has sprung to life to attend to only us. Service is friendly but not smothering. The food is mainly Italian, built around the best tomato sauce we've had west of the Poconos. Try the Eggplant Parmigiana, sold as an appetizer but perfect as a mid-afternoon meal. We also had an excellent Stromboli this time and similarly satisfying dishes two years ago. We never thought on our 12-hour road trips that we'd look forward to Washington, Pa. But we do. read more

I've heard good things about this place for years. We finally decided to give it a try. We have no problem paying the prices we paid for high quality ingredients and food. That was NOT our experience. The atmosphere was cute. The tables shined. Our server was great. Those are the only reasons for any stars. Way over priced for quality of our meals. Bread was just a sliced white bread on the stale side. Wedding soup so salty is was barely edible. Baked potato was prepared well, small and the whipped butter and sour cream were lacking. The chicken I had was drowned in a cheap bottled sauce. I still had a aftertaste in my mouth at bedtime. My husband's cod meal was good, portion ok but way over priced for what it was. Mine was undercooked and the bun wasn't toasted....wasn't toasted just a dry bun. Even eatnpark toasts their buns. My fish was pink. There is something extremely creepy about this place. From the hostess who looked me over as if I was naked and trailing blood in to the hostile server who was totally rude and threw the bread at us and was unwilling to find out if their home made salad dressing had sugar in it (excuse me for needing to watch my sugar), this place was just bizarre. The food we got was generously portioned, but the people working here were either very unhappy, in pain, or just didn't like the looks of us. We were all well-groomed and clean, so I don't know what the deal was, but we could not leave soon enough. My kids are both servers, so we are very kind to food service people. I've only eaten here a few times and it usually gets rave reviews. Rave-worthy I'm not so sure, but here is my review. Service.. polite and friendly, and we got everything that we asked for... in due time. The wait between sit down and initial service was long, the time to get food after ordering was even longer. It was a Monday at 6:30 pm and it wasn't overly crowded. I do however realize that Covid-19 may have them with a short staff.... I guess?? Be sure to take your mobile phone, they're using online menus for ordering. There was only one paper menu per table, we were told to take it with us. I assume due to Covid-19 requirements of menus having to be disposable. Food... My Veal Parmigiano was beaten into a 3/16" piece of veal at its thickest with basically no meat or thick consistency. It was tough to cut with even tougher edges. There was no cutting this with a fork, oh no, it took a sharp knife and some sawing. The taste wasn't bad, but I expected better. The next day leftovers had me worried that I was sawing through the paper plate, it was that tough. My wife's chicken marsala was over salted and she didn't finish it. My son's large sized linguini fantasy was OK in spite of no visible signs of the advertised scallops. Overall I rate my experience 3/5. It was however nice to be able to sit down in a restaurant and eat with the surrounding counties open for take out only due to Covid-19. Oh and BTW, they don't take Discover card. Why this is an issue anywhere I have no idea. read more
