Everything was absolutely delicious. The soup was a perfect combination of sour and flavorful. Fried rice was fluffy and had plenty of shrimp, which I loved since most places tend to skimp on the shrimp. The broccoli and beef were cooked to perfection. Broccoli was nice and chewy while the beef was tender. The sauce on it was amazing. I also recommend the lemonade here. Tastes sweet and tart just like the lemonade at hotdog on a stick. Pricing for everything came out to $34 which wasn't bad considering all the yummy food we got. We will definitely be back! read more

Wow, this place is a true hidden gem in Claremont. I've been to tons of Chinese restaurants in the area and none have the same level of flavor as this place. I came in my first time on a Friday night to get some take out. I ordered the Beef with Black Bean Sauce and the Hot & Sour soup along with a Rose Milk tea. The Beef with Black Bean sauce was fantastic. The cuts of beef were perfectly sized and the mix of green peppers and onions was just the right amount. There was a large amount of meat which made for a good value. The sauce was delicious with a nice little kick of spice and was so good that I sopped up the leftover sauce with some bread and then used the rest to saute some spinach the next day. The portion was large enough that I couldn't finish it at one time and smashed it the next day for lunch. The Hot and Sour soup was exquisite and one of the best I have had. It had the right amount of heat and a good amount of mushrooms, tofu, and shredded pork. The Rose Milk tea had a great flavor as well. I will definitely be stopping by again. read more

Absolute gem of a spot! Small mom and pop restaurant that recently opened that serves the traditional dishes. In my experience, Chinese food is typically very greasy but this one wasn't! Even during the Covid-19 pandemic, Upper House is bringing their A-game! They have taken every county required precaution to ensure the safety of employees and patrons. From phone call to pickup to our table, it was about 25 minutes! We tried a couple of new dishes tonight - the walnut shrimp was crispy, savory and sweet. The pork chop over rice had hints of 5 spice and the sauce that soaked into the rice was delicious. Our favorite: fried tofu appetizer which stayed crunchy even after the ride home and the spicy house made spicy wontons! Always a great experience ordering from Upper House! read more

Whenever I feel like eating good food and I want to eat right away, the upper house was always a good choice for me. Food was solid good and fast ! I also found out that they deliver which was always a plus , since I live and work close by , so if ever I have a craving for authentic chinese food, this joint will be my first option. They also provide nice customer service, taking time in explaining their menu. I love the pan fried buns , it was served with condensed milk, crunchy on the outside and so soft on the inside, they're the perfect compliment to your every meal.I posted picture before this review.I also tried pineapple beef , it's ohhhhh so tasty and tender ! The Upper House is pretty good. It's not Din Tai Fung (DTF), but I would rather make the drive here to eat what I like than to south coast. The Spicy wonton I say is better here than DTF! Yes! It's true. To me, it has more flavor, bigger, & spicier! The stir fried string beans is another one of my favorites at DTF, but at Upper house they give u more for your money! The service is great and the people are nice. My son spilt his water and the employees cleaned it up right away. We apologized and the lady who was helping us said it was ok, she understands because she has children of her own. Their dessert menu is huge too! A lot of choices! Yes they have boba. I had the coconut milk tea just to try something new for myself. I'm not much of a coconut flavor person and will stick to the drinks I know and like, but it was worth trying. Tried this new place and let's just say it has lots of potential. Customer service was attentive and efficient. The inside was really trendy and very pleasant and clean including the restroom. Their food is hot and fresh, we ordered orange chicken and the orange sauce was delicious however, The actual breaded chicken was very little chicken and much more crunchy little pieces, not much chicken. We also noticed that they had no condiments there at the table no honey or sugar for tea. The egg flower soup had absolutely no flavor. They also kept playing the same song over & over & over & over & over again ..... some slow country Christian song. This is a hidden gem. Located next to a Subway and a gym, nobody can see this place but the food is great. Fish filet with black bean sauce is the best although I've only tried it today along with orange chicken. Orange chicken is not the best but chicken is so tender compared to others that they are so tough, I would order it again but fish with black bean sauce is hard to beat. I will try their beef with broccoli next time. I don't like Chinese food much but when I crave it, I like good Chinese food and I crave their food already so I will be back and will bring friends over. I recently went to this new establishment a few days ago. I used to like going to the Chinese restaurant that was at this same location which closed few months ago, because it was very economical. I was surprised to see how nicely the location was renovated. We ordered takeout. We got vegetable fried rice, vegetable chow mein, orange chicken and Kung pao chicken. It was a bit pricey but comparable to other Chinese restaurant dinner options. They do have lunch specials which are inexpensive. Food was very delicious and our tummies were very satisfied. We also ordered taro milk tea with boba and strawberry milk tea for my little one. Both teas were very good, had the right amount of sweetness and tasted freshly made, not like some that taste like powder. Would definitely be back just for the milk teas. But I'd also return for the food. Service was also pleasing, very polite and helpful. read more

I started going to this restaurant when they opened several years ago. I thought the food was fresh and delicious. I especially enjoyed the egg roll with lunch . Then, they eliminated the egg roll and gave you cucumber salad. Now, they give you nothing. I continued take out through out the pandemic to support them. Yesterday I ordered our usual two lunch specials and had my husband pick up the order. Today I noticed that the charge slip was $26.17. What? How can that be? Lunch specials are $8.95 each! So I called them and asked how they got that total. Well...prices on the website and printed menus are incorrect. Lunch specials are now $10.95. When I ordered I was asked fried rice or white rice. I had decided to try their fried rice (which was terrible, by the way) and that's $1.00 extra per meal. I advised the woman that she should tell people it's $1 extra when she asks them at the time of order. The customer should have all the information in order to make the decision. I'm very disappointed in how yesterday went. There are other Chinese restaurants in the area and I'll go there from now on. They're lost a loyal and supportive customer. read more

An awesome place to satisfy a Chinese/Szechwan craving. From the wontons in spicy chili oil to the vegetable lo mien, to their white rice. Everything hit the spot perfectly. A good variety of traditional Chinese food along with menu options familiar to the locals. Had the corn soup which came in a bowl sharable for four, it was creamy and hearty. Also had the Taiwanese style rice noodle stir fry which was well flavored and had a good mix of protein and veggies.
