Shout out to The Upper Room Kitchen! We had a reservation for a group of approximately 20 people - we ended up with almost double the amount and they didn't even skip a beat! They didn't complain or seem irritated at all, and even brought out an extra folding table to accommodate us! We didn't wait long for food, which also tasted great, our orders came out perfectly, drinks were always filled and even though we accidentally blindsided them with the amount of people, they were extremely professional and were happy to help! I don't have one negative thing to say, everything was fantastic!! I have to add, they even had another party of 30 coming at 5pm and still never got angry or frustrated! Matter of fact, our waitress's response to my profuse apologies was, "No problem, I love a challenge." Hats off to these employees! Definitely will be back!! I think this may be my 3rd review but here it goes.... I truly love this place! The atmosphere is laid back, great food and tonight they were playing some 80's rock. Now let me share what I had tonight. I never imagined that barbecue sauce would be good on nachos, and I was right. It was not good, it was AMAZING! Who ever came up with that concept, bravo! "Hey jeans! You in the jeans!" That's what some lady was saying to me when I was leaving after my meal. She was trying to get my attention, and apparently my jeans were the thing that she chose? Anyways, I was walking towards the door and she stopped me. "Wasn't it good? Best restaurant in town! We finally have a good restaurant!" I'm quite certain she didn't work there, but was just a superfan. And that's the kind of passion that this place arouses, apparently. I'm not familiar with the restaurant scene in Tracy, but anytime you have someone that passionate about something, it's probably because they're doing things differently. That jives with what I saw. My hypothesis holds, as I don't see too many restaurants doing what they're doing. I can only describe it as a clean protein and salad place, with custom beverages. Apparently they also do meal prep as well. This is the place that your friend who's super into the gym or yoga, would love. Not that it's full of meatheads or yogis, just that it's mindful. I thin their tagline is something like that--mindful meals. We stopped in for a really late lunch and went upstairs. It's a strange mezzanine situation up there, but it's fine. I just don't recommend the seats in the corner by the vent for the fan, as our whole table was vibrating. I got a pre-made thing with noodles and salmon and ginger, but I think the real way to do it is to follow their build-your-own-meal plan. You pick a protein, a sauce, a starch, and a vegetable. Easy breezy. Custom enough that you could try lots of things and keep coming back, but not too complicated. They have salmon, steak, chicken, shrimp, pork chops, and tofu for the veg folks. You can do rice, noodles, and so on and so on. It was pretty reasonably priced, and came out quite quickly. I have only been once so far, for Lunch but fully intend on visit a lot more and trying other menu items. Dining is casual with lot's of inside seating both upstairs and downstairs along with a few tables outside too The menu is very simple - A handful of Salads and selection of hot plates where you choose your protein, starch and then side. Lovely healthy yet filling option for lunch or dinner. I was in town for work and wanted to try something special to the area and found The Upper Room via yelp. The food really is as good as the pictures! And the multi-flavored layered lemonades are to die for! And are also super instagram worthy. When you walk in you order up at the counter then take a seat. They bring the dish and your drink right out to you while you relax and get settled. I got the hoison chicken salad and one of the flavored lemonades (I forget which exact one but they all look awesome). Came here with my brother on our weekly lunch together. At first, I wasn't super impressed with the overall look of the place, but this is probably only because I'm comparing it to the old Amore's restaurant that it used to be. I usually order a burger at a new place, but decided to order the chicken bruschetta wrap. It took a little longer than expected, so I was growing a little "hangry." When the food came, I was pleasantly surprised by the presentation. It looked nicely put together and I appreciated the mountain of fries. I instinctively tried one fry, and BOOM! It was so good! I could not figure out what they did to their fries to make them taste so good. Light and crispy without being greasy. The first bite of the wrap was delicious, and this is coming from someone who does not like wraps. My brother got the shrimp salad and was not as impressed as when he got the tuna salad a previous time he had been here on his own. They were busy and it was the owner, a server/bartender and a dishwasher covering both floors during a Monday dinner- but they did amazing, the food was delicious and I would totally eat there again. The owner and server both took time to chat briefly and smile and laugh. Hustled around the place putting in hard work but seeming to enjoy it all while still fulfilling pick up/DoorDash orders. I have eaten here twice and my review reflects both experiences. First, I want to say that the wait staff is the absolute best, they deserve 10 Stars! Both times they were attentive, friendly, patient and helpful when placing our orders. My three star review is for the food. The burgers were good, but the three appetizers we shared were not. We had the following appetizers: - Two types of Chicken wings - the sauce was pretty standard, but the chicken was the absolute worst ever! Incredibly dry and tough. - Brussel sprouts - the first time we had them they were ok and plentiful, the second time we had them the portion size was half of the first and the sprouts were super oily and over cooked. - Chicken nachos - The portion size is good, but this dish lacks creativity. The cheese sauce is like something you might find at a neighborhood ball park, melted Velveeta cheese.. Yuck. And their take on nachos is to drizzle packaged BBQ sauce over the top of the chicken. If you are looking for a good burger, I recommend The Upper Room. The portion size was good, the meat cooked the way we asked, the bun complements the dish and the pickles served on the side were nice and crisp. What a day to have a fun lunch at a nice and airy establishment. The Upper Room did not disappoint us. First off, the lemon/Parmesan Brussels sprouts were mouth watering. Great flavor profile, and all four of us were delighted to share it. Secondly, the entrees were very well made. Ahi salad and the noodles were spot on, the salmon dish with noodles was another hit. My fish and chips with sweet potato waffle fries were good but I think the oil and batter had a factor in the crispiness and flavor of both. A bit bready and stretchy, but we cleaned that plate. I've been 3 times. Tried 3 different dishes. The food is very good. Made fresh and pretty quick. My only issue and why I can't give 5 stars. Is what I experienced on my last visit. Was simply waiting to get service outside and was immediately accused of smoking. I'm not one to get bent out of shape, life is too short for that stuff.
