DINEOUT 2020 My first dine out of the season and I wasn't very impressed. JAPANESE MILK BREAD - A twist from a normal appetizer be bread. Served with fried onions on top, quite tasty. LOBSTER BISQUE - Very disappointed. The waiter pours the soup into the bowl in front of you, only to have the bowl half full. The bisque itself was thick, brinny and quite salty. I couldn't bring myself to finish it. RIBEYE - Basic, decent steak. Nothing out of the ordinary. Served with mash potatoes. SERVICE/AMBIENCE - Waiters are extremely accommodating. However, every now and then, there was a watt of of burnt smoke. Not sure if it came from the kitchen or the waiters... Overall I was quite underwhelmed. For a $$$$ restaurant, I would expect better quality dishes. Perhaps they served lower quality food because of dine out... either way, I wouldn't come back here for dine out. read more

We came to the Victor to celebrate a birthday and boy was it busy (could have been it was during Dine Out as well). Large restaurant with lots of seating. I loved the complimentary bread which was different from other restaurants in that it was quite soft and fluffy almost like a milk bread. We got the wagyu croquettes and the bluefish tuna tataki to start. I was a big fan of the bluefish tuna tataki where it tasted very fresh with lots of flavor. We wished there was a bit more substance in the wagyu croquettes but they were okay as well. The rib cap steak was fantastic was so much texture and amazing flavour. We wished we had had that second as after the rib cap, the filet mignon did not taste as great. We ended the diner with the crème brûlée donuts and I loved how they presented it. They also gave us a complimentary piece of cake for dessert as we were celebrating a birthday and that was much appreciated. We also had an amazing server. Came here for a nice dinner and the Victor didn't disappoint. My boyfriend and I shared a cowboy ribeye (I think medium rare) the steak was juicy and each bite was so good. Try the chimichurri sauce with your steak it's pretty good! Appetizers were oysters and foie gras. Skip the oysters the money isn't worth it but the foie gras is!! Definitely one of the most boujee restaurants I've been to. Got confused getting there but the entrance is stunning! The food was good and the service was okay but I wouldn't say it was worth it for how expensive it is. Good but not that good. We got one dine out menu and another regular menu entree to share. Now that I've experienced it, I probably wouldn't come back. We still enjoyed the night and the ambiance is beautiful so I would recommend going once in your life. Appetizers Complementary Cheese and Onion Bread and Butter Entrees 20oz Cowboy Ribeye We decided to upgrade to the ribeye since I wasn't feeling the other entrees and also this cut is $84 on the regular menu so it was more worth to get it during dine out. I personally wouldn't pay that much for this steak alone. Tender meat with that charred flavour. A bit rarer than medium well but still good! Wish there was more veggies on the side. Burgundy Truffle Risotto The first few bites were so good as it was super creamy, cheesy and has a (almost too) strong truffle flavour. It's quite rich so I would imagine it to be hard to finish for one person. The added pickled shallots balanced it a bit though. Dessert Toffee Chocolate Bread Pudding Nice moist and chocolatey. It was a little too sweet with the sauce but the pudding itself was good. Coconut Cake For my bfs birthday, we didn't expect them to give us a huge slice of a coconut cream cake. We had a private room booked on the Thursday and was looking forward to our dining experience however, was quite disappointed in the lack of service. Firstly, it was not busy in the restaurant but I understand with covid there may be a shortage of staff. But for a party of 10 people I had expected there to be at least 2 servers. To keep it short, the food is sup-par. No where worth the price point, and I also thought the quality was meh. Our minimum spend for the room was 1500 and it was quite frustrating that the service was so slow some of us would go to the bar to order drinks. Why would someone request a private room to basically get mediocre service??? Anyways I definitely will not return. I do not recommend this place for dinner, there are so many better alternatives in Vancouver. The only reason I give it 2 stars is because of the location and decor. read more

Located on the 6th floor of Parq Casino, the Victor is considered an upscale restaurant. I love the fun atmosphere, the beautiful design and fancy patio and seating area. They offer great range of dishes from steak to seafood and sushi. I was super impressed with my food especially the Whole Branzino and the Crab Cake. The fish was so tender and buttery, just melted in my mouth. The Crab Cake was probably the best one I've had EVER; they said there was no filling whatsoever, just crab and crab. Also highly recommend the two desserts below, one of them has GOLD on top. However, I had to give 3 Star review because the service was not as good as we expected for an upscale restaurant. The servers barely checked up on patrons and refilled water. My friend didn't like her steak as they gave her medium instead of rare like she ordered, but it took like 10-15 mins to get attention from our server to return the steak. All Hype! I was very much looking forward an amazing or possibly life changing culinary experience at "The Victor", what I got was middle of the road food and painfully slow service. My table reservation that I made well over a month a go, was late as we waiting 15 minutes to be seated. The restaurant itself wasn't as fancy as I thought it would be, and was quite loud. We were seated on the patio which was enclosed with plastic; I didn't find it very nice. I guess depending on where you get seated, some sections have a lot less ambiance then other sections. Dine Out Vancouver brought me here with my girl Mel, but honestly I didn't care for the "Dine Out" menu and had no issues spending bank for high quality, taste bud tantalizing, foodie food!! I get annoyed at Dine out now days because you don't get much of a deal. The portions are always smaller and the items you really want are offered for another $15/item. Like give me a break. Unfortunately, although the food was good I was looking for amazeballs!! I have had better King Crab at "Coast", than at "The Victor" and for $40 for 1/2lbs Crab and it didn't even come with a side. I paid another $10 for a side of Broccolini, which was a good portion and nice flavor. Again, I wasn't overly impressed wIth the food. For my starter I went with a spicy Tuna maki for $15. The rice was cooked perfectly and the tuna seemed of high quality grade, but again I found it a bit bland and not spicy at all! Our server was friendly enough, but seemed rushed to take our order and then the service went downhill immediately after that. When we needed our bill separated it was like pulling teeth trying to get our servers attention. My gd was so frustrated she was ready to dine and dash. For the slow service and insane prices that are not really reflected by the culinary experience I can't say I would be in a hurry to re-visit. read more

Came in for a dine out for 8 on Monday night. In conclusion: this place does not worth the money(even dine out). I've been to other fine dining restaurants during the dine out week and I would say this is the least of them all. Ordered the foie gras as appetizer, ribeye for the main entree and the chcoclate mousse for the dessert. When they first came, the portion sizes were small and I thought maybe the quality was the turning point. Man , I was wrong. The foie gras tasted weird with the combination of blackberry and walnuts. The ribeye felt tasteless. It did not taste slaty or savory. It was....bland. The chocolate mousse was just ok. The place itself has a nice vibe to it. They made it wanting to look like a five star restaurant but some of it is missing. The lighting are off in some places and the servers walk fast paced(even saw 2 waiters broke water glasses) . If you come here for the vibe and just to gather around without the expectation of the food, then this place is for you. If not, then try some other place. The Victor is a great place for entertaining cause it's spacious and huge selection for drinks. Love how they serve Japanese food and steak and seafood all under the same roof. First time I ate here we had the tomahawk steak. It was good but I do think it's a bit overpriced considering it's only enough for 2 people at $160. The sushi and sashimi was fresh and tasty but nothing too fancy or unique on the menu. If you like to drink this place is for you but the high prices will be a drawback. read more

This is a super late post... it was Valentines day and the only spot we could reserve was 9pm. Even arriving at 9pm we had to wait about 15 minutes until our table was finally ready. We received bread at the table and ordered the aburi sushi, surf & turf, and ribeye along with the brussel sprouts and mushroom for sharing sides. Okay... first off it took FOREVER for our server to come to our table and offer water/take drinks... we ordered right away as we had an inkling this was indicative of their usual processing time. The sushi came about 15 minutes after the bread... and it was horrible. Probably the worst pressed sushi I've ever had. It was dry and was 7/8 rice 1/8 prawn. At $17 this was a total rip-off. After this, it was a 45 MINUTE WAIT until our entrees arrived... so keep in mind as we sat down at 9:15pm we didn't get our next course until 10:30pm!! Have a look at the ribeye (my order) which was sloppily presented and looked like the leftovers after someone had already gone at it. Not only that, it was overcooked and chewy! I was horrified but considering the hour I didn't want to have to wait another 45 minutes for them to remake/fix this dish. At least my boyfriend's surf&turf looked more presentable... The sides were both extremely salty and we barely ate any as we were too busy downing water to get the salty taste out of our mouths. On top of that, as my boyfriend reminded me, the sprouts were covered in burnt balsamic vinaigrette... For a high-end hotel it markets itself as, JW's Victor steakhouse was a huge disappointment. I wouldn't ever return or recommend this place to anyone... their "fake study" interior just further shows to me that they are trying to be something they're not. My sister had her birthday here(party of 6) on a Saturday night. The atmosphere and interior is lovely. We were served 4 slices of some kind of sweet cheese bread. I don't love cheese but everyone loved it. The hamachi nobu was good. It melts in your mouth! It was sitting in a sweet sauce. 4/5 The aburi was actually yummy. I wasn't expecting much since their specialty is steak. However I wouldn't say it's anything special. 4/5 I had the free range half chicken. It was a pretty big piece of chicken. The chicken was topped with 3 pieces of broccolini and there was a side of chimichurri sauce which wasn't very flavourful. The first couple bites were okay. The chicken was juicy and the skin was crispy. However, because the chicken was so big, I got kind of bored of the flavours half way through. 3.5/5 They brought out a piece of moist coconut cake for the birthday girl which was a lovely surprise! I give our server a 5/5 for service! Our server, Christian was awesome! He was so kind, well-mannered and funny. He even snapped a couple photos of us and he really made sure they were good photos haha! He just made the overall experience great! Came for a friends birthday- our server was super nice but everything else was just subpar The ambiance was nice but there was a burnt smell in the air that was super strong. The food took over an hour to come out, when I asked one of the servers they explained that it's due to covid (and Christmas parties) (we came on Dec 27th) steak takes awhile to prepare but only one of us ordered steak. The food was also very bad, my friends got steak, burger and the risotto. All were not good and so expensive, the burger was very burnt (not a light char) and and my chicken was very very dry and made me slightly nauseous. The chicken was dry and the vegetables were so burnt. I BIT into a huge piece of lard and spat it in a napkin. The steak tartare isn't bad though Overall the entire bill was 500$+ for bad food and a long wait. Not worth it. Go to Joe Fortes or black and blue if you want nice food and ambiance. I went to Victor the first time on a Wednesday evening and I sat at the bar. The food was exceptonal and I really enjoyed the sides and my Flat iron steak was so tender. No issues there. The venue is really nice walking into restaurant and the decor was really good which creates that fine dining experience. However, the service was not good. I don't mean to be critical but it really stood out on a few occasions so hopefully they read this feedback. I was sitting at the bar so I wasn't expecting a lot but they never asked me 1) how was my food tasting 2) asked me if I wanted another drink. It was a Wednesday night so it wasn't entirely busy so those little things really stood out especially when we ordered appetizers, sides, entree and even asked for the dessert menu. After flagging them down for my bill sitting at the bar, the bartender took my money and didn't even say thank you or have a good night. Took the money and went off to the abyss. It was really odd. Stepping foot into the victor the atmosphere was great, great vibes and welcoming. Seating was comfortable and everyone was very nice and professional. I came here for the first time to surprise my gf for a bday dinner and she was happy, mission accomplished haha. We ended up ordering drinks first which took a very long time would probably say about 30 mins or so. The waiter did apologize for the delay as well. We ordered for food beef tartar, uni tacos , porthouse steak , oysters and salmon miso oishi. The food wasn't like wow it's good except for the steak was very good. Absolutely brilliant. Part of a relatively new hotel complex incorporating a JW Marriott and The Douglas hotel next to the sports arena. The victor derives it's name from the phrase "to the Victor go the spoils" and The Victor is a great place to spend those spoils. We were invited and enjoyed some fabulous food and drink in an airy, thoughtfully designed space. The cocktails were well executed, I enjoyed the Battle of 1812. long review ahead - just a warning lol! this was my first dineout for 2019 and according to our waiter, jacob, clearly the best for the first and i would have to agree. it was bit tricky finding how to get to the ACTUAL restaurant but all you need to do ask. got to the restaurant, took my name and my coat and i waited for a bit before they brought my parents and i to our table. jacob, our attentive waiter, came right away and showed us the menus and the wine menu (which i was waiting lol). he asked if we were doing dineout and i said yes. then i grabbed the wine menu (LOL) and got really excited. he gave us (rly it was me) a few minutes before he came back to grab our orders. he recommended a light cab sauvignon (avalon was the name i believe) for me as i told that i was having the ribeye for the entree. got a 9oz to share with my mom. it was delishh - mom thought it was little light but i thought it was just right, and as jacob rec'd that it would be light compared to the heavy ribeye. after he grabbed my drink and our orders, there was complimentary house bread. it was this...japanese onion bread thing lol i didn't quite catch the name. IT WAS HEAVEN - for those who love onions and cheese. it was great on its own but even with the whipped butter provided, the butter didn't deter from it's delicious flavours. for appy, all of us got the lobster and crab bisque. it was nice how they poured it in front of us - the crab salad is on the bottom of the bowl so it blends everything together. i had to note that the bisque, thought it was very nice, was too salty. you dont taste it at first but as you have more of it, the saltiness hits you. the toast that came with the soap was nice too - i wolfed that down lol. then came the entree, as i mentioned we all had the ribeye. it was perfectly season and right sized. the mashed was very creamy and smooth yet it still felt like it was from actual potatoes - not that weird fake taste that you get sometimes when the mash is too smooth. the roasted peppers were wonderful - charred nicely and very sweet. now for dessert, mom had the menke cake while dad and i had the chocolate mousse. if i got to choose again, i would have picked the menke cake. while the chocolate mousse was creamy, i found the caramel bits and the dark chocolate cake crumble too bit too much. plus the chocolate shell made the dessert overly sweet - ofc, if you're a chocolate fan, you'd love it. the menke cake, on the other hand, was light and nice dessert to end the evening. thanks mom for letting me grab a bit - the sponge cake was fluffy and meshed very well with the coconut mousse and custard that were layered and around the whole cake. all in all, a wonderful evening with minor hiccups - jacob was great at just leaving us to savour our food. i will def come back and try the other items on the regular menu. read more

Came here for Father's Day. A bit at the pricey end but the quality and atmosphere is worth it! They had a complimentary candy bar, for Father's Day. Every brunch they also have a DIY Caesar bar with amazing garnish selection. They also have a Moscow mule cart that comes to each table. I had the chicken and waffles (Mac and cheese waffle) served with a gruyere cheese sauce and maple syrup. It was quite good and would probably order it again! Others in our group had the steak and eggs, victor benedict, Oscar egg benedict, and wagyu breakfast burger. All were very good! Triple cooked fries were amazing. Onion rings were so so. Aside from the higher prices, only complaint was the server: he came to us too often initially (every minute) to ask what we wanted when clearly we were having conversation, still looking at the menu and deciding, then not checking on us at all after we got our food. Came here for a friend's birthday dinner. If you have more than 8 people or more, you only get a set menu at $50. You don't get the option to order off the menu so we had 7 people. The atmosphere was interesting as there are fake books along the counter behind the couches/tables to make it look sophisticated. I didn't touch the books so I assume they are fake as they're all green. The bar is small but the tables are nicely spaced out. The service was excellent as they were efficient and friendly. Our server was great, he offered great recommendation for food and drinks. One thing we did notice was that if you ask for a wine, they will bring out the expensive one so let them know which one you want or it will be expensive. They ran out of the Avalon wine, and the next one was $26 for 6 ounces. I ordered the striploin and brussel sprouts. The striploin dish does come with a couple of medallion potato and a couple of roasted peppers. Not enough to fill, hence why I got the brussel sprouts too. I did order the chocolate mousse, it was really rich and slightly bitter from the dark chocolate. The brownie on the bottom went well with the chocolate, and helped lessen the bitter chocolate. Wonderful night at The Victor! We came here for our anniversary dinner and for the most part was not disappointed. We got set up with with a nice window seat and the service was amazing. Our server was super courteous and really made our night for us. We ordered oysters, salmon tartar, bluefin tuna, the ribeye, and some wine. The steak was amazing and juicy. Exactly what I was hoping for! The rest of the food was pretty good but I wouldn't say amazing. One thing to note though was that the noise level was VERY high. I was honestly expecting it to be way quieter. We had to yell at each other for the night so that wasn't awesome. All in all though, a must visit and we'll be back. read more

the experience was simply amazing! note: "experience!" and i do mean the entire experience...from getting to where the restaurant is, to taking in the view of the walkway and the fountain/landscaping, to the 360 views of the surroundings, to the food and service experience, to the view from the dining room, to the ambiance in and out, the table cloths, right down to the washroom, yes you read it right, the washroom, everything was simply amazing! the restaurant is on the 6th floor. took elevator from the casino flr and led us to a hallway where you walk towards the entrance of the restaurant! this is no ordinary entrance...it was a set of glass doors which led to a display pool and mini fountains and some nice concrete landscaping. a quick glance around and your breath is taken away by the sight of bc place which is right next to the restaurant. inside, it was immaculate! the table setting, the furniture ( sorta like a reading room w/ books) , lamps & modern chandeliers, nice tables and chairs, smiling hostess , the table cloth when seated...you just felt special! there was something about the place that made you feel grand and welcomed! to start, we were given a small cut of japanese bread with baked gruyere cheese and caramelized onions on top w/ whipped butter. the bread was soft and delectable. the caramelized onions contrasted well with the cheese and he pastry. it certainly got the palate ready for the nigh. for starters, we ordered house cut waffle fries with cheese fondue and thick cut bacon. for mains, for myself, i purposely ordered the cheapest cut of steak ( tres major ) as a test! i wanted to find out their level of cooking skill and see if they can impress me. wife ordered the flat iron which was cut like steak frites. both orders came with roasted peppers and something that resembled unpeeled ginger, but was actually potatoes. then we had to try the waffle mac and cheese, then settled on dark chocolate mousse for dessert! the waffle fries were like no other! very unique cutting skills. the potatoes were nice and crispy and thinly waffle pieces. the cheese fondue which served as the dip is to die for. a combination of 4 cheese created a dipping masterpiece. it was so rich and creamy i wanted to drink the entire thing or spread it on some good bread. the. the order was sprinkled with generous amounts of artisan crumbled blue cheese and huge chunks of cut up bacon. the bacon my dear readers, was not maple leaf or store bought or the ready to serve crumbled variety! oh no! it was home made , cut, smoked, salted and roasted from a good piece of belly! i can taste the smokiness and the time invested into making such good bacon! it was superb! smoked to perfection! next, my tres major 10oz steak ( shoulder cut) was just goodness in my mouth! despite being a cheap shoulder cut, Victor was able to broil it to perfection and serve in with just a touch of smoked peppercorns and serve it with a little au jus! the creation was fantastic. i ordered medium and it was cooked perfectly. the steak was so tender , juicy, and seasoned well! the simple flavours were wow! the essence of the meat was able to shine and not overpowered by some sauce or gravy! even the ginger looking potatoes were done perfectly! fork tender and moist, with the skin so crispy almost like peking duck! best part, the skin separated from the potatoes flawlessly. only superb timing and skills couldve done this. the flat iron was likewise excellent. now the waffle mac and cheese! quite intriguing if you ask me, so we had to try it. what we got was 4 quarter waffles pressed with sharp cheddar cheese and stuffed with mac and cheese tossed with ver blanc sauce. it was amazingly "cheesingly " good!! you can tell good cheese was used here! it wasnt a mess to eat and came with another dipping sauce was i forgot what was it. sorry! but it was also rich, creamy and good! laslty, the dark chocolate mousse! i initially though it was just another routine mousse cup! but no! they took something simple and turned it into something masterful! it was unlike any mousse that ive had. the chocolate was velvety smooth and had no dark bitter taste. my guess is they mixed some milk chocolate with this. but the texture was so smooth and not too airy! it was as if you were eating something close to an ice cream! and in the core was some chocolate cake ( came as a surprise) and some dark chocolate crunchies which elevated the dish even more with every bite! it made you wanna finish the whole thing and go deeper and deeper now, i mentioned the washrooms...it was personalized per person! bigger than most powder rooms in a house. lol lastly, service!! 2 words! impeccable and outstanding! to sumThe Victor took something ordinary and turned it to something extraordinary! they did lack artistry and poetry on a plate for presentation, but they surely made it up for food quality and overall experience! i salute you guys!! well done! read more

I both loved and was frustrated with The Victor. Every year, in February, my company has a fancy sit-down, plated meal, at a local, high end, restaurant. At the beginning there was a little miscommunication about the type of event we were looking for. It wasn't until we received the menus and reserved the space that we realized it was a family style restaurant. They ended up accommodating our needs; however, it was more than we were expecting to pay per person. They were able to bring the cost down that they had originally put forward but that took a bit of negotiating. Once that was ironed out the rest of the initial organization was a breeze. I was able to go in for a site visit during the first week of January; however, due to illness my contact wasn't able to meet me and I met with someone else. She was very helpful but not all of the details we discussed was relayed properly which let to a bit of a scramble on the day of the event. One of the other issues we had was that the drink menu's we'd had made up for us ended up being removed from the table by wait staff which made ordering drinks difficult. The atmosphere is beautiful. The views of False Creek and the water decor outside really add to the beauty. I am also a fan of the bee wallpaper in the entrance way. It's bold but works. Now to the food. This was fabulous. I absolutely loved every morsel. We started off with sushi (vegetarian friendly) for all staff and then we were able to choose from 2 starters, 3 mains & 2 deserts. The setting of the service is great. Such a pretty location, big restaurant great vibe especially for a steakhouse. The staff were friendly and polite. The menu has lots of great options. I am a fan of how they have lots of seafood options! Amazing sides, great to share. read more

We made reservations for Dec 25. had the Prime Rib, Carrots, potatoes, Au jus, Horse Radish..etc 1st off , they dont have any kind of steak spice ??? 2nd, carrots were fried but uncooked and hard. 3rd, Au Jus, not Au Jus. it was this rich over bearing and way too salty gravy. 4th, asked for horse raddish, no kick. i could eat off the spoon 5th, Prime Rib way too fatty and very tough to cut had to chew and chew 6th, $350 more than double the keg, half as good please do not waste your hard earned money on this restaurant. read more

We booked our staff Xmas party, they sat us in the tented patio area, all the woman's legs and feet were freezing cold, 3 of us ordered beef wellington, they messed up the order and brought us the wrong meals. They kept on coming by with meals from other tables also. The staff seemed very disorganized, not very professional for such an expensive restaurant.​ read more

First impression as we walked to The Victor was "ooooo, very fancy". Ten minutes to our reservation time at 8:30 pm. We were told that "the table is not ready and will be ready at the time of our reservation. Okay that's fine. My girlfriends and I were waiting at the bar. We didn't get seated until 9 pm! They gave us all some shots to compensate. Disappointed with the food and disappointed with the service we got. I understand that we were a big group of 10. But the steak was a bad cut. I couldn't even chew it. My friend's steak was super salty and she couldn't even take another bite after 2 bites. The veggies we ordered were cold and also overly salty. The servers never came back around to ask how everything was. It took another 15 mins trying to get the bill. I wouldn't recommend and don't think I'll come back. But that was when it first opened a few years ago. I came back a few days ago for an event. Again, it has beautiful ambiance. Service was great though. They were friendly and attentive. And the food...although it was a special menu for the event, it was pretty good and I was impressed by the hors d'oeuvres. I would actually give it another shot and dine again one day because of the nice experience I had recently. Three stars became 4 stars. read more

My friend and I went for Sunday brunch. Stepping out of the elevator, the path leading to the restaurant across the courtyard was already stunning! The decor inside was also classy with greens, greys, and dark wood. We ordered the uni summer shooter, steamed clams, half a dozen oysters, and chicken and waffles to share. The uni shooter was very refreshing, and felt more like a fruit punch than an uni shooter as the uni and yam were subtle flavours. The steamed clams and oysters were very fresh and plump in size. Wish we had ordered more oysters! The steamed clams came in the mesh bag that they presumably came in originally and were chilled, which surprised us. The chicken and waffles were hearty. They generously gave us an additional piece of chicken when we told them we would be sharing the plate. Thank you! The chicken was lightly battered which made it feel less heavy. The waffle on the other hand was very cheesy, as it was macaroni and cheese pressed into a waffle iron! I would recommend this for cheese lovers. I believe the sauce for the chicken and waffles was a cheese sauce as well. There was a "mule" cart that was going around, offering Moscow mules and its derivatives. I could not help myself and ordered a Cuban mule (made with white rum), which was a delicious addition to my meal. Came to Victor for their dine out menu. The six of us were seated at the bar side which looked more suitable for drinks than dinner. We sat on high stools at our table which was acceptable but the tables beside ours were literally sofas and coffee tables. The dining area looked a lot nicer with windows overlooking night views. In addition to the dine out menu, our table shared the tomahawk steak which was much better than the dine out food items even though it came with a hefty price tag. In my opinion, the lobster bisque was the only note worthy item in the dine out menu. There's an upscale casino located inside this hotel. Make sure to take a stroll down on your way out. read more

I attended a conference in the Hotel and lunch was served by The Victor. The selection of breads was decent as we sat down and waited for our appetiser. The soup tomato/squash was ok. The main of chicken parmigiana was different - no red sauce and the veggies weren't properly cooked. The dessert Gold Bar 2.0 - simply amazing. This deconstructed dessert of graham crum, passion fruit tart, cherry sorbet and lemon coral sponge was one of the best desserts I have reviewed on Yelp! This is a Top Chef presentation and quality dessert. Serve this twice and skip the appetiser and the main and the review would be 6 out of 5 stars. read more

This is my second time here. They have good service and great ambiance. But the kitchen are not good at cooking meat. Both times when I have gone there, they have over cooked our steak, we asked for Medium Rare and it would come out medium. The lamb one side was cooked very well, but the other side not so much. On the other hand the scallop was delicious, and cooked perfectly. read more
