Don't be fooled by the pictures--the camera did a good job. Not sure where to begin. I've never been to a restaurant where you don't even know who your server is until it's time to pay the bill. The service was absolutely terrible. As for the ambiance, there's really nothing worth mentioning except for one nice wall painting of a woman. The food was overloaded with masala and lacked anything memorable--biryani was so bad- though the dessert was surprisingly good.

    Poopy

Minus the poopy seeds, the food was great and full of flavor. The heat was real the real deal and definitely will return. Hopefully by then they edit their menu so my daughter doesn't stop laughing and pointing it out when we go.

Oh finally there is a decent restaurant in Dallas that serves good Indian food! I think I haven't had this good Indian food at a restaurant for a while now! The service is good as well! And I like the drinks menu, particularly

Enjoyed a delicious lunch at The Yellow Chilli. We tried the butter chicken, Pudina Murgh Tikka, and murgh bhuna masala and butter naan. The naan was very tasty and you could eat it by itself. The chicken dishes were also flavorful. Definitely recommend if you are in the area. Cute little spot, service was okay.

Not sure what the hype is about.... Visiting from out of state on a business trip, stopped by for dinner on a week day. We ordered a few drinks and entrees. We tried adraki paneer, mix veggies and dal tadka dhaaba with mixed naan basket. Everything was Ok. Nothing memorable. The 3 stars are for a decent drink....i tried the skullbreaker. Service was ok. Ambience is forgettable. For someone who likes Sanjeev Kapoor for his recipes & his shows, this didnt match up the hype.

Dessert was the favorite part of the meal- partly because I have a sweet tooth and because the Gulab-gulkand and the kesari kulfi was a meal on its own. The rose essence and the unusually large gulab was a treat coupled with the saffron kulfi. The biriyani was full of flavor and cooked in a pot that was sealed with dough to keep in the flavor and aroma. The paneer and the chicken dish were ok. The pudina (mint) murg tikka appetizer was flavorful and a great start to the meal. The restaurant was busy and service was friendly and attentive. The food presentation was impressive ( especially the desserts and the biryani). Definitely a place I would want to explore their other menu items.

I Heard about the yellow chili restaurant from a friend. And I was so excited when I saw the reviews and pictures online, so I made a reservation on the OpenTable app 2 Weeks prior. I did not find the taste remarkable; it certainly did not live up to the standards of chef Sanjeev Kapoor's recipes, the hallmark of tasty Indian cooking. The Food quality and quantity are not worth the price. The dessert was delicious, but the appetizers and main course were moderate. For appetizers, we ordered Vodka Pani Puri(very bland). The Hyderabad dum biryani was sweet(no biryani is supposed to be). The service was unsatisfactory, and they were in a hurry, not even taking time to answer any questions. But the worst aspect for me was that when I ordered the food and asked the server to make the biryani a little spicy, he directly informed us that it was a north Indian cuisine restaurant and not to expect them to add any more spiciness. Not only was the server harsh, but the service took more than half an hour to present. I would not recommend this place. Instead of the high prices and the dissatisfactory service, the ambiance of a celebrity chef's restaurant was the silver lining of this experience.

I'll start by saying this, I'm not casually into Indian food. I'm an Indian food aficionado. My…read morebusiness partner is Indian, and we are constantly trying new Indian restaurants. If you really know Indian food, you know there are levels to this. Most places serve what I lovingly call Campbell's Soup Tikka Masala. Super sweet, neon red, one note, wrong color, wrong consistency. Basically tomato soup with sugar and turmeric pretending to be a masala. It fills you up, but it doesn't make you pause and savor anything. Spice Grove Indian Cuisine is not that place. This is the real deal. The flavors are layered, balanced, and clearly cooked with intention. Not overly sweet, not dumbed down, just full of garlic, spice, depth, and that unmistakable "this was done right" feeling you get when Indian food is executed properly. We ordered a spread, saag, tikka masala, butter chicken, korma, vindaloo, garlic naan, and honestly there wasn't a weak dish on the table. Everything had the right color, the right texture, and the right punch of flavor. This is food you slow down for. I won't say this is the single best Indian food I've ever had, I reserve that for a few heavy hitters like Dishoom and Brigadiers in London and Chola in New York City. But if those are 10s, this is a very solid 8.5, and that is high praise. They're busy for a reason. You cannot go wrong here. If you love Indian food, or want to understand why people love Indian food, just go. You'll leave happy and probably already planning your next visit.

My Dad wanted to eat Dosa and after looking at the reviews of this restaurant on @yelp we decided to give this place a try. Let's just say the food and the restaurant @maduraimesplano was a pleasant surprise! Atmosphere: we went there at around 1 pm on a Sunday, which is not really lunch time for most Desis, so we didn't see many people at the restaurant when we walked in. It got a little busier when we were about to leave after our meal. Rating: 8 out of 10 Food: we ordered two items and both items were a hit. Some Desi restaurants refuse to tone down the spice level, even if you request them to do so. This place however toned down the spice level for my Dad and I to be able to fully enjoy our food. What we ordered: - Plain Dosa with Mutton Curry: this was my Dad's first time eating Dosa and let's just say he almost hoovered it down. The Dosa was perfectly crispy, the Mutton Curry was flavorful, the meat was tender and juicy, and the chutneys were a perfect pairing for the crispy dosa. - Ambur Chicken Biryani : perfectly spiced, the chicken was tender, portion size was huge (enough to easily feed two people) Rating: 10 out of 10 Customer Service: they were very nice and checked up on us regularly without being a pest. Can't fault their service. Rating: 9 out of 10

As someone suggested, everything felt no nonsense. The biggest standout was the fresh naan they bought to the table, but that was it. The buffet itself didn't do much for me. Everything felt watered down and lukewarm. It wasn't the worst I've ever had, but it was far from great. I didn't get a ton of flavor in anything and felt like a lot of the items tasted the same. Where's the Saag Paneer or the Aloo Gobi? I felt like there were two kinds of rice, tofu stir fry (the only thing that felt like it had substance to me) and several soupy items.

Now, the quality is very bad, and it is not worth the price. --Food-- The food is bad. Today was tiffin day., with assorted food. The grain based food like rice, pulav , and curry's are all bland and sad. The dosa is too crispy and ingredients not good. Way too much oil throughout the food, everything had too much oil Almost everything was bland and inedible, with the samosa chat and everything in the salad bar being the saving grace. The water is warm and they use foam cups. Also the watermelon is bland and not good either. The coffee is good though. --Cleanliness-- I find the table to be clean. Considering buffets as a whole, cleanliness is up there. They have real cleaning spray *looking at you Indian restaurants that use windex*, and fast table turnaround. The buffet area is clean and standard, and the salad bar area is clean too. The live dosa and uttapam station wipe with a cloth. However, the dosa station is not using any handwashing, nor is the uttapam station at all: the dosa station is touching the batter with a metal cup to scoop it: no hairnets or any aprons. The kitchen has people in sweaty T-shirts that I see when the door opens. The buffet has pizza that seems lukewarm, and the salad bar has chickpeas and other veggies that have...dubious quality. Clean plates and utensils, although the live station serves food on paper plates. --Service-- The service is okay, with no uniform so it's hard to tell workers apart, but many staff and helpful people. In general I have no complaints. --Noise-- We walked in, and immediately Indian karaoke is booming. The singing was good but too loud for such a small space...sit in the side space to avoid the noise. We choose a table that is in the main area. Otherwise, not much else to say. --MISC-- It is complicated to find info about the restaurant online, with the nights being confusing.

I have to warn fellow ladies under no circumstances to use the bathroom in this location for two reasons: The bathroom has multiple stalls but is not marked for either gender, and the main door can't be locked from inside making it accessible for male and female individuals at the same time. What I noticed in one of the stalls was a sensor flush that was completely out of the wall with wires exposed but still connected, yet the button did nothing and conveniently the unit was placed in a way facing the toilet bowl. An exposed electronic unit like that can be tampered with by any individual specially if the bathroom is accessible by both male and female. You can guess the rest of it yourself. Back to the kitchen, I had ordered paneer biryani along with Irani chai, before using the bathroom, the food took about 30 minutes to arrive, and I was served Pulao instead of Biryani. Even after asking the staff, they firmly said no that's Biryani. If you are non-Indian and don't want your intelligence to be insulted do not visit this restaurant. Once I received my food one of the staff told me the chai will arrive in 2 minutes. Well you guessed it right, I never got my chai. Even though the restaurant is open until 11:30 pm, the staff stop serving chai somewhere between 10-10:30 and even though they had an order in place, they failed to communicate effectively to deliver what was on the order. I finished eating and before leaving I wanted to wash my hand but since the store closes an hour before the restaurant, the bathroom is inaccessible and there's no hand washing station in the restaurant itself, so I used the only two pieces of napkin that were available in the restaurant. Food was tasty but wasn't what I ordered, over all the experience in general was so bad I wouldn't return, nor would recommend this place to anyone.
