I'm going through a family medical crisis and the last thing I or anyone visiting a hospital need is to be greeted with rudeness for no reason whatsoever. Happened at 1:00pm the day of this posting in case management is curious. I was so taken aback I just left without ordering anything because I just couldn't believe what was happening. You guys seriously need to teach your workers there are some sympathy because this is a hospital and should be aware that people are in crisis and don't deserve to be treated like that

While I do usually prefer my ice cream order to my boyfriends....i do have to admit that I liked his more. Don't skip the waffle cone like I did. Definitely a great stop to add to your day in boston! The flavors are always great, and there's seasonal flavors which rotate that are always fun to try.

The cafe has everything, EVERYTHING which could really make it a spectacular experience, and I can say that I will never go again or recommend. Get a muffin and coffee/tea at Tatte or Flour Bakery and skip this cafe and go straight to the book store. The bookstore is a joy.

Everyday I pass the coffee shop at least 4 times and it is always crowded, probably because of its prime location on the most popular shopping street. So it is only good for take-out, never for catch-up with friends...And there is no wi-fi. My favorite so far is the coffee. The vanilla ginger latte and the hazelnut latte all are very well-made. I like the latter more because of the nutty small bits inside the not-so-sweet coffee topped with the right amount of foam. The macaroons are a bit pricey. I like the raspberry one the most because it is sweet, tangy, and lemony, with dark chocolate filling that balances the taste. The salted caramel is just a bit cloyingly sweet for me. The powerful chia seeds pudding has great creaminess, but not impressive. It would be better if it is less sweet, maybe with some lemony touch.... read more

I stopped by Thinking Cup and was hoping to try their French hot chocolate, which I saw on their online menu, but the staff told me it's only available in the winter. Instead, I had the regular hot chocolate, which was pretty tasty and didn't taste like the instant kind, even if it was. The café was pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon, and you might have to wait a few minutes for a table. Most of the seating is set up for two people, but when a group left, we were able to grab two tables and push them together for the three of us. The menu is impressively large, with plenty of baked goods and pastries, though not a ton of savory pastry options. They also have a wide selection of sandwiches, which I'm looking forward to trying next time. Overall, a cozy spot with good hot chocolate and a tempting menu- worth a visit! read more

Been going regularly to TC since my original review. I stand by the review as a whole, however the speed seems to have improved since my first two trips--- perhaps a fluke? Speed seems to have notably improved, particularly in the morning rush and afternoon 'pick me up' periods. While the main barista (Jake is his name I think?) is pretty much King of the Coffee, there are other folks who are working quite hard at getting cold brews and other stuff ready and out to customers. The improvement of speed has earned them that 4th star-- and everythign from my previous review rings continually true. If you haven't had the housemade Ginger Vanilla syrup in a latte/coffee, do it... the added sugar is worth it. Thanks, TC! read more

Cute breakfast place located conveniently right by the State train stop (blue/orange line). Not a lot of sitting room if you're going during peak times, but definitely worth the stop. The quiche accompanied with a small salad is delicious, and great Matcha Latte. Oatmeal is very fresh and tasty. Wish I had room to try one of their desserts, it looks delicious! Very friendly staff, we sat by the bar and was able to see the barista make some coffee and lattes. This is not a pour from a coffee pitcher type of place, each individual cup of coffee and latte goes through some intricate process. I guess that's why it's sooo delicious! While visiting Boston, one of my go to food venues is the Thinking Cup. I was excited to hear about the new location on Newbury Street. My first observation was the outdoor seating, which I am a huge fan of. The Stumptown coffee is certainly a huge pro as well. I always enjoy grabbing a breakfast burrito in the morning because its delicious and healthy, as opposed to many other types that feel like pure grease. This area of Boston's uniqueness and well kept atmosphere brings me back every time. I didn't think it was possible, but with the Thinking Cup, I love it even more! Definitely make this a stop on your next visit to the Back Bay. read more

A friend recommended this coffee shop to me, very cute place on Newberry street !! I ordered a Hazelnut Latte and customized my own breakfast sandwich on a croissant. The food was very good and decently priced !! Their Hazelnut lattes are just happiness in a cup!! Loved their staff, the girls were super nice and welcoming. They were extremely carefully handling my order, noticed they changed their gloves twice.Too bad they only had 4 tables available for indoor seating but the weather was nice enough for me to sit for few minutes on the patio and finish my latte !! I was out for a walk fairly early in the morning and was after my usual morning coffee. It was a beautiful day and all I needed was a good coffee. It didn't have to be up to the same standard was the ones we have here in Australia. It just needed to be decent and, well, the guys are Thinking Cup did not disappoint. It was pretty busy in there however I didn't have to wait too long, which was great. I like the place. It's a cute, unassuming and cozy little cafe. On the menu, you'll find a range of options incl. bagels, muffins, sandwiches and other pastries. Will definitely go back on my next visit. read more

I am a grad student, and there is not much we adore more than a wonderful coffee shop that's conducive to dialogue and productivity. As I discussed and worked I 'd an outstanding sausage/egg sandwich with melted cheese, an extremely puffy and nicely glazed apple brioche bun and an artful, well balanced cortado (the perfect quantity of milk and espresso). On Saturday my partner and I shared two DELICIOUS hazelnut and rose macarons (they'd great looking feet) with an unbelievable iced pour around. We'll continue to go to, drink and eat here regularly. The cafe is located in a very nice neighborhood with lots of shops. The coffee was really good and the breakfast sandwiches was nothing out of the ordinary. We sat outside which was very nice and the weather was very cooperating. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for inside. I walked in to order and it was crowded and very warm and stuffy. Nice place to get a quick bite. They forgot our sandwiches ($28 worth) but they apologized and gave us 3 free cards for any type of coffee which I praise them for doing the right thing. read more

WHAT'S BAD: The place is almost always packed, meaning that there's a considerably long wait in line. Also, as a Starbucks lover, I feel like the coffee is a far too bitter for my taste. I'd rather walk a little farther down the street for a caramel macchiato. WHAT MAKES IT WORTH IT: Though the coffee is bitter, the designs are beautiful. Such a fine replacement for whatever was here before! The customer service is outstanding-- friendly, courteous and professional. I adore not only the robust, aromatic Stumptown Coffee, but the vast assortment of bottled cold drinks too. Everything I 've ever eaten here has been of exceptional quality. This is one of the best additions to Newbury St. I am not even a coffee drinker, but man, that hazelnut latte is something else. I have been drinking that ever since a friend recommended that to me. I love this cafe!!! Just got to Boston and lucky to find this place in a freezing night. It reminds me of one of the cafe in downtown Glasgow (where I am from), small yet has a lot of good quality. We had a hazelnut latte and honey cinnamon latte (I think), and both are very unique. I also split a passion fruit cheesecake with my husband and I have to say it has a very delicate flavor and texture to it. We will come back before our Boston trip is finished. read more

I had a delicious Latte at the Thinking Cup. They made it perfectly. The foam, the temperature, the design. Place gets a little busy as I prefer a quiet space however all the guests were enjoying. They have an outdoor patio in the summer. I cannot wait for some better weather. I did not get a chance to try any of the food however all the pastries looked awfully good. The servers are fast and friendly and the line seems to move pretty quick. Highly recommend their Hazelnut Latte, Customizable Grilled Cheese and their Carrot Cake. The Bittersweet Shoppe feels like an extension of Tracy herself: warm, welcoming, and full of personality. The café has an almost Harry Potter charm of coziness, complete with what I dubbed the "first date corner," a tucked-away little seating area behind the dessert counter that practically begs for two people to fall in love over dessert and coffee. The menu is something I'd expect to find at a princess/unicorn party, complete with sandwiches, cakes, cookies, pastries, fried dough, specialty drinks...there's so much to choose from that if I came back every day to try something different, I'll still be here through next February. My sister ordered the iced coconut coffee. I went with a peanut butter-drizzled iced coffee that was so sinfully good I may have to stop by confession this weekend. The indoor seating is every bit as charming as the outdoor patio, making it one of those rare places where you genuinely want to linger instead of rushing off to your next stop. Just know that eating this is not the prettiest, because it's covered in an abundant dusting of brown sugar and cinnamon and will get all over your face, finger, and clothes, but it's worth it. Definitely a curse that I don't live closer to Greystone and in fact, getting to this particular spot in South Boston is a pain, because I would legitimately get this every day. I've also tried the menu of scones but nothing holds a candle to the glory of the morning bun. There's almost always a line (especially if you're coming on Sat/Sun mornings), parking is impossible, etc. They have a super cute pick-up window for grab and go orders, as well as sit down/indoor seating.

I personally recommend swapping out the bacon for avocado- even switch (meaning no additional charge) and I think the flavor palette complements the sandwich better as a whole. It's not a big sandwich or very heavy/filling so if your appetite is a bit heavier you may want to try somewhere else. You can also see that the menu items go fast. The line can also be quite long for the outside window but seems to move pretty quickly. However the food is pretty made to order so it may take some time to get it out to you. If you don't want a caffeinated drink, the hibiscus tea was decent. Not much seating at the restaurant itself. Pro tip: order your food at the takeaway window outside and then walk a block over to Crite Park where you can easily enjoy your food at one of the many table and chair options under a pergola. Overall decent place but can be a one and done.

So when I was going to the newly dubbed Menino Convention and Exhibit Center (previously known as the BCEC), I decided to stop by. I wasn't the only one who decided hitting Cocorico to be a good idea that day. Although with its location in the Omni Hotel, they did also have a convenient customer base from the get go. It took me 15 minutes to get through the line with 3 staffers handling things. I picked up the last Yuzu Strawberry Cruffin for $8. It was huge! And lots of filling. I ate half for breakfast, and saved part 2 to eat with lunch.

Very charming interior with the plants and comfy seating along the wall and the lighting. They are walk in only and do not take reservations so be prepared for a wait. We got there around 1pm on Sunday afternoon and it was full - they said it would be a 1 hour wait. So we put our name down and were just waiting for another friend and standing in the tiny vestibule- and then surprisingly after about 10 minutes were told that 4 spots cleared at the bar!! I ordered the Mamas breakfast- scrambled eggs, toast, no bacon, salad. The eggs were soft and rich cooked in butter no doubt. I asked for jam for my toast and it was a fresh chunky strawberry jam - went great with the buttered toast. Hubs and a friend both got the smoked salmon - seemed a bit light - so I shared my eggs with hubs. Other friend got the eggs Benedict which looked amazing and he really enjoyed it too. They also ordered mimosas - how that comes is they serve a bottle of the alcohol (if you order a bottle that is) and a carafe of the orange juice. Hubs ordered a Ferrero Rocher-tini- which is listed under the Grown Up Coffee section in the drinks menu - it was very decadent! We had a nice leisurely brunch and pretty much closed the place down as they close at 3pm. Got some pics of the place empty too! Service was friendly. Overall a great experience- will be back for another meal for sure!

This is common issue and not limited to this coffee shop. The honey cinnamon hot latte is a good flavor. The latte was smooth. The watermelon mint lemonade has a flavor and no bitterness. It does have a bathroom for paying customers.

I couldn't find it on the in-store/online menus after several searches; it's best to ask a server directly. The ice cream was fluffy and light, almost like a cloud. While I personally prefer a richer, smoother version, this one was definitely unique. The coffee was rather ordinary, with a noticeable acidity. Their coffee/beverages were made very slowly, requiring some patience.
