I was part of their yelp elite event, I got to meet the owners and they explain how third culture was created, all the history behind that great business, all the hard work they had to put in to get where they're at right now. It was amazing! You get to pick 3 of their pastries and 1 drink of your choice on the house. I tried the Churro mochi muffin, black sesame mochi muffin, and the strawberry cream butter mochi donut, and they have really good flavor, and texture. I also bought their banana bread pudding and it's one of the best banana pudding that I have ever tried. There is parking next to their building! I visited the Third Culture location in Walnut Creek to take advantage of the BOGO promotion and was unfortunately very disappointed with the experience. The employee who assisted me appeared disengaged and offered minimal acknowledgment. When I asked about the BOGO deal, he initially stated it had already been applied, which was not accurate, and only adjusted it after reviewing the order. More concerning was the drink preparation. I observed the employee drop a cup and then stack it with other cups in a way that made it appear the inside of a clean cup may have been contaminated. This raised a significant hygiene concern and made me uncomfortable consuming the drink. Additionally, despite requesting almond milk in only one drink, both drinks were made with almond milk. Given the hygiene concerns and overall lack of care in service, I did not feel comfortable with the product I received. I had a weird, honestly disappointing experience at your shop on Sunday. I ordered 2 matchas, but the cashier rang me up for 3... not sure why, since I clearly said 2. I asked for a receipt and got a digital one, which is fine--but when I checked it, I saw I was charged for 3, which explains why the total seemed way too high. I asked for a refund, and neither of the girls knew how to process it. One of them called the manager, was on the phone for about 10 minutes, then told me the refund was sent--but I didn't get any confirmation, no text, nothing. At that point I was just frustrated because there didn't seem to be any clear process. I don't understand why employees are working the register without knowing how to handle basic things like refunds. It made the whole experience feel really unorganized and disappointing. What a vibe in here! I love the neon pink lighting thats reflective all around the bakery. The mochi muffins and donuts are freshly made and the drinks are all handcrafted. They're known for their matcha collection it seems so my boyfriend and I got the strawberry lychee matcha latte while mine was the roasted one. SO CREAMY, SO DELISH! I was actually so freaking happy to walk in and see the matcha einspanner still on the menu. This thing is so good, we can kiss socal cafes goodbye. I'd sometimes come to this location a while back during Covid era just to takeout some mochi muffins, but will come back for the drinks now and maybe to try the mochi waffle! Def recommend the matcha einspanner (ceremonial grade is indeed crazy good quality but u can save urself $2 and get the regular matcha which is just as tasty and sTILL better than most average cafe matchas) + also recommend the banana bread mochi pudding -- honestly prefer this over all the desserts bc of how moist & flavorful it is (+also the best portion size!). Of course, loaded up on the passion fruit, strawberry, and Vietnamese coffee mochi donuts. It's always a head spinning decision with all the varieties! The brownie mochi muffin is always a fave too. Grabbed the seasonal Speculoos Toffee mochi muffin and a carrot cake muffin too since it's limited time. Also couldn't pass up the banana espresso mochi waffle which is always a winner. I usually get a hojicha latte, but they had a Rich and Roasty which is a roasted matcha. It was perfect with the whipped espresso cream. This one is also a limited time drink through April. It's off a main street, but sort of hidden. You may also pass the building depending on which direction you're coming from. The matcha latte was good but if you're use to starbucks then I prefer starbies ov this. This one was more on the bland/less sweet side. The ube + chocolate donuts were delicious. Mochi Muffin heaven. I became a frequent customer at the Bondadoso Cafe after trying these delicious and unique mochi muffins. Needless to say, I was sad when they discontinued. I went to Third Culture for a little treat. I got the iced strawberry lychee matcha. The drink itself was okay! Not sure if it was worth $6 and some change. I was intrigued by the kimchi cheese waffle. The lady who took my order said it was good. I love kimchi and waffles so I thought why not? I absolutely should not have gotten it! It was soggy, cold, and the flavor combination was wayyyy off. I had to throw it out after 3 bites! I got really, really disgusted eating it. I spent a whopping $18 at Third Culture and really did not feel like any of it was worth it! The mochi donuts here are good, but other than getting those I'm not sure why I'd go to Third Culture. I found Third Culture through Yelp because I was looking for new matcha places to try. This place seemed like a hit so I decided to come today on a Tuesday afternoon! It was my first time here so I got an iced matcha latte with oat milk. I love the fact that it's already sweetened with a bit of honey. When I tell you this matcha was INCREDIBLE, it truly was. We ended up with Vietnamese Coffee, Thai Tea, Buko Pandan, Guava Cheesecake, Ube Coconut, Strawberry Cream, and Tiramisu. For drinks, I grabbed the Lychee Matcha Sparkler (my usual) and the Salted Maple Cold Brew Latte for my husband. Both were as delicious as the last time we got them. Consistency my friends! Third Culture is a great place for a caffeine pick-me-up or a "I'm gonna treat myself with something sweet" moment. They're space is pretty small with one table inside, and a few tables and chairs outside for seating. However, the disco ball themed aesthetic is just so unique and very picture worthy! Ive been coming here for years and today I just tried their new black sesame products. Third Culture grinds their own black sesame paste for 72 hours before incorporating it into their drinks and mochi products. I had the opportunity to try their black sesame latte and the black and gold mochi doughnut (black sesame mochi donut with a thick dusting of salted egg yolk powder). The Latte was so rich and the doughnut was to die for. The combination of nutty black sesame with the mild saltiness of the egg yolk powder made this superb! I stopped by a couple of nights ago and tried the apple pie muffin, churro muffin, chai tea donut, and a matcha tea. So the muffins and donuts do not have the typical texture. The texture is more chewy, think mochi. But let me tell you about flavor, they were DELICIOUS! The treats are not overly sweet but are packed with flavor. The matcha tea is undeniable matcha with just a touch of sweetness. I personally liked that the tea was not very sweet, but if you need it a little sweeter, the employees are so kind, I'm sure they would be happy to add more honey. This is one of my go to boba spots in the area! Been here multiple times and they always make the drinks consistently and the mochi muffins and donuts are always a hit. Personally I prefer the muffins over the donuts since I can taste the mochi more in them. The servers are also really nice! I recently went to try out their new black sesame items. The black sesame mochi waffle was perfect. Loved how rich the black sesame taste is and their waffle had a good amount of mochi in it and I really like the texture of it. It's topped with black sesame whipped cream, cocoa nibs, and banana slices and all of these paired so well. The black sesame whipped cream was good that I can probably eat that on its own tbh Also ordered the black sesame latte which was perfect. You can really taste the quality of the black sesame in each of these and the flavor wasn't too sweet but it wasn't overpowering with the black sesame taste either. My wife and I shared the waffle and sat at the outdoor seating since it was a nice day. The inside and the outside are kept pretty clean which is always a plus but just keep in mind there's no seating inside since it's a small shop. We have been going to Third Culture Bakery in Berkeley for some time and we were happy a new location opened at Walnut Creek. We usually go there for their drinks and mochi treats, but on this visit, we only got mochi donuts and muffin. Nevertheless, we were still able to get a couple of mochi donuts (Yuzu Lemon and Vietnamese Coffee) and an Ube Mochi Muffin. The mochi donuts were very good. The Yuzu Lemon was very refreshing and the Vietnamese Coffee tasted just like ca phe sua da. Both of them had their holes filled with their respective glaze. Who doesn't like ube? This mochi muffin had a very good texture and tasted like ube heaven. This has been a favorite of my daughters and me. Service was fine and attentive as the line moved along pretty quickly. I was introduced to this place thanks to a YEE years ago now. All of the baked goods are gluten free and quite tasty. That isn't always the case with gluten free items. They are not cheap. The muffins are 4.25 and the donuts are a bit less. They have quite a selection. This is true of the beverages here too. On this visit I was just picking up some goodies for my gluten free daughter in law for Mother's Day. After she had tasted them all, the red velvet muffin won.
