Delicious Donuts from Coco Donuts to accompany our coffee

I loved my experience with Third Wave Coffee Tours. They were very accommodating for our high school group and showed us some hidden gems in our tour of the city. I can't wait to come back and check out their other tour offerings.

This was a really fun, different kind of tour. I have been in plenty of sight-seeing tours, haunted pub tours, etc but never a coffee tour. There were four of us who went for my friend's birthday and it was interesting, informative and a really fun time. We went to four different coffee houses and tasted several different types of espressos and coffees. Our guide even got us a cinnamon roll snack because we passed by a cafe and commented how good it smelled. I definitely would recommend this tour!

This was really fun. We met in the morning in a coffee shop that has wonderful coffee (of course) and food; I arrived a little early and had a sweet breakfast. Lora gave us a great overview of the global coffee scene and we had a demo and talk about roasting. We then used the street car to get to four other shops, for a total of five. Each barista taught us about something different and provided a sample of a different coffee beverage, plus a treat. I was impressed with Lora's knowledge. I was also impressed with how organized the tour was. Lora provided everyone with a streetcar pass & showed us how to use them. She passed around interesting visuals during her intro. I actually wish this had been longer and not as hurried. The baristas at each shop clearly expected us and were prepared to do a presentation and give samples. Lora also clarified dietary preferences and accommodated vegan and gluten-free needs. I live in Portland and am a coffee person; still, I learned new stuff and discovered a new coffee spot. I'd definitely go on another tour and take out of town visitors with me.

A must do if you"re visiting Portland. Make sure its one of the first things you do. Not only is Lora full of great places to go and knowledge, you can see just how passionate she is about coffee, Portland and the food. Im ready to do another tour. I dont think you could get anywhere near the same education or experience without her. Thank you, thank you, tgank you!!!!

Lora does a great job in introducing the group to some of the many local coffee shops in downtown Portland.

This reminds me of the Korean cafes that are sprinkled all over Southern California. We were delighted to see it here! I ordered a black sesame late and a black sesame mochi donut. Being only one barista, right after you order, he makes your drink immediately. You can hear and see the espresso shots being made and the ice filling your cups. Dependent on your order, he pulls out the cream for the top. I can see the black sesame cream top being very thick and full. A lot of patrons were ordering their tiramisu latte, and I don't blame them! It's what is very popular here. Personally, I enjoyed the black sesame latte very much. It was the perfect amount of cream and sweetness. The taste didn't overpower the coffee, which is nice. Their mochi donuts were good, too, with the consistency of mochi dough. Definitely would make another stop here if I'm ever around!

They are located outdoors within a repurposed trimet station, which add such a a unique Portland touch to their vibe. Although usually a 1-2 person operation, drinks always come out relatively quick! I tried the tiramisu latte and the black sesame latte. The tiramisu latte was easily my favorite. The cream top is rich and delicious, and when mixed into the coffee it really tastes like a classic tiramisu dessert. It's sweet, smooth, and feels like a treat without being overwhelming. The black sesame latte was also great, especially if you like nutty flavors. It has a natural sweetness with a deep roasted sesame taste that almost reminds me of peanut butter, making it both comforting and unique. I've also had their regular latte before and really appreciate the quality of their espresso. The coffee itself has a smooth, balanced flavor that stands out even without added syrups or toppings. A great spot to visit if you enjoy creative specialty drinks but still want genuinely good coffee underneath it all.

Great service from friendly barista. I ordered the Chocolate Jesus and my kid had the Arabic People's Latte. Both drinks were unique and superbly delicious with cardamom accents. I've been here quite a few times and have really enjoyed the Aribic People's latte with its strong cardamon overtones, the Chocolate Jesus and today, the Mucho Calliente, which promises a chili infusion, and cinnamon infused espresso with dark chocolate! But wait..., oh no, I forgot to ask for oat... this is probably (certainly) dairy. Argh! Sorry, I have no Viking blood and can not digest cow milk. I would rather battle the aforementioned Viking before I'd endure the results of ... dairy! So, I brought my drink up fully prepared to pay for another and everyone there, EVERYONE, in almost unison, refused to take my payment. They kindly and quickly made another and... oh... spicy indeed, but chocolatey and balanced! One of the best spicy mochas I've had anywhere ... and I am an absolute Spella snob and proud of it! Inside secret: Don't miss out on the great selection of truly authentic Egyptian foods and pastries, as well as some really nice necklaces and earrings. If you need that piece to pull your whole Nefertiti look together before going out for a Saturday of dancing and fun... this is your hidden gem!
