Stopped in this quaint cafe for dessert and coffee with my family. Place was packed but we were able to put some of the indoor tables together for our party of 8. They had a display of carbs, including olive bread, chocolate cake, cheesecake, scones, etc. with a basic beverage menu. Ordered the tasty. mini cheesecake topped with fruit, chocolate cake, coffee cake, hot chocolate - we polished it all off within 10 min. They have a cute patio in the back for nicer weather. Metered street parking is available.

Really enjoyed the traditional croissant here! Super airy and flaky and reasonably priced at $4. Eyeing the cheddar corn scone for next time. Service was super friendly and the place has a really cozy and comfortable cafe vibe. Would be an amazing work spot if they had wifi!

Croissant, carrot cake and a savory croissant.

Really amazing bakery. We got a baguette that was perfectly crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. The croissant was flaky. The veggie sandwich was fresh and the bread was really good. The oatmilk latte I had was also amazing and really large size which I loved. The cafe is large with a nice backyard with sitting. My only criticism is that the lady that was helping us wasn't very nice. Not sure if she was just having a bad day. It might have been an off day for her. Highly recommend though

I've only been to Thorough Bread a few times IRL for coffee and pastries, but my husband probably visits there several times a month when he's in the neighbourhood, and it's been a win every time! It works well for grab-and-go, but there are also a few tables inside, plus a back patio with more seating that's really nice on a good day (although it can get crowded sometimes). The coffee is fine, but the pastries are the real reason we go. Our current favourites are a savoury ham pastry and a sweet almond pastry, but they rotate offerings - including themed treats for holidays and events - so it's always fun to try something new. Compared to other bakeries in the city, the prices feel more reasonable, and the location is easy to reach on foot or by public transit (MUNI station nearby).

Food: mushroom, cheese and thyme croissant - 10/10 recommend it's balanced crunch and soft. The filling is also creamy and the mushroom doesn't over power the rest of the croissant. Almond croissant: 9/10 delicious and sweet. (I enjoyed my savory item more) portion size: well sized service: Staff was sweet and conversational. Ambiance: great for small groups and dates. we got our stuff to go but there is a patio in the back. Parking: Street parking Payment: apple pay and card but I didn't see cash option.

Scone and choc chip cookie, with drinks

Super cute bakery in Duboce Triangle with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We got a scone, choc chip cookie, and some chilled drinks. The pastries were good and well-priced. One downside is that their bathroom is out of service and they do not have ice, so no iced barista drinks. Love the painted baguette on the door.

I wish I had visited this bakery sooner! They had a great selection of pastries, all of which looked amazing. We tried one sweet and one savory croissant; both were buttery, flaky, and flavorful. The varieties were unique and well-executed. I was pleasantly surprised to see their large back garden area which is where we enjoyed our croissants. We saved a piece of coffee cake for later in the day and it was still soft and crumbly (in a good way).

This is my absolutely favorite bakery in SF! Not only is it reasonably priced but everything is so well baked / cooked! They have warm sandwiches and can warm up any of the baked goods too. THE BLUEBERRY SCONES Are my all-time favorite but they sometimes run out in the mornings so you have to get there early. They have an amazing variety of pastries and breads with seasonal ones each time. Just to note - they do NOT have ice so they can't make you an iced coffee or anything. The vibe is lowkey and they have the funniest signs outside and always have some fun display in the window. PS. There is a really cute patio in the back! Service is always good - they're very attentive and ready to help you. :) HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I wanted to love this place... I really believed in them when they won 3rd Best Croissant in SF in 2023. I cowork a lot around this part of Church St and I am very dissatisfied with the amount of bakeries nearby for a sweet treat. Everytime I've come here, the service has been so welcoming and caring but the items themselves have left a lot to be desired... Their plain and orange croissants were not bad but I was not amazed at all. It felt like they were both missing something - like it just wasn't buttery or flaky enough and the orange flavoring tasted a little strange. I also was tempted by their olive fougasse & challah breads - both were a little too hard and I want to say stale but they definitely were made that morning. I really want to love this space because the decor is so fun and inviting and tongue-in-cheek and it's a nice space to sit and relax right near Market St. I would be willing to try again - maybe I just keep getting items that are not their best items.

I got a cappuccino here and appreciated the service because the employee brought my coffee with whole milk but immediately realized that he was supposed to get me oat milk as soon as he saw me . I was more-so impressed by how he forgot and then instantly remembered. The coffee was yummy! And the back patio area is so cute and cozy.

But when you want a sandwich that only tastes like its ingredients, Irving Subs is the spot. Their Dutch crunch is famous for being fresh and actually crunchy. Their lettuce is shredded but fresh and crispy. The salt content is just enough to bring out the flavors. And the overall composition of their sandwiches are very well proportioned. You're not getting skimped, but you're also not biting into a mouthful of a packet of deli meat. They definitely know what they are doing. Double pastrami, horseradish, havarti, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, and pepperoncini. A lot going on, and it all came together. The horseradish and havarti gave it enough personality to stand apart from a standard pastrami sandwich, and the garlicky mayo tied everything together. The one casualty of DoorDash was sogginess by the time it arrived. That's not a knock on the sandwich, it's just the reality of ordering something like this for delivery. At $14.50 it's a hearty sandwich at a fair price. I'd recommend it, but eat in.

This is a cute corner shop in sunny Mission, and it's very clean and organized inside. I was the only person there when I went early Saturday morning (although I imagine it might be busier now) and I ordered the lady Gianna, which took around 10 minutes to make. The result was a delicious juicy eggplant Parm like sandwich with a nice kick as well. The fresh basil really came through. The Portobello sandwich was also a standout.
