Pint of Peanut Butter Heaven
Otniel L.

I come to Three Sisters pretty often, as far back as when this business used to be called Maximilians...so 20ish years and counting. I've had many different flavors and the one that stands out the most is the Peanut Butter Heaven! I'm not even a big peanut butter fan, but the flavors aren't very bold, but delicious, sweet and creamy. The staff are very good! They know their products inside and out. This is a small cafe, so I wouldn't plan on doing any work or being there for an extended period of time. It is good for a little tasty treat and get on with the rest of your day/night. -ODL Connect with me! IG & YouTube: @AOEAT

I had heard amazing things about their ice cream, and have even tried it in the past, but was especially impressed with their amazing shakes and smoothies! The berry blast smoothie with protein was so tasty and refreshing!! The mango smoothie was to die for, and it was the perfect beverage at the end of my run!! Love this place and can't wait to be back for more!

Medium cup of ice cream

My husband and I bought two ice creams size medium for $13. The portion sizes were extremely small. I got chocolate sprinkles and I barely got any put on my cone. I know plenty of other places with better service & portions than here!!

Kristen S.

Very small servings and the ice cream was very soft-so soft it wouldn't stay on my cone and the girl let some fall in the trash and never gave me another scoop! She just offered to put it in a cup! For a place that has been on my foodie bucket list for quite some time, this was a HUGE disappointment.

Traditional American breakfast!

On a recent visit to Providence, I met some relatives at Three Sisters for breakfast. What was impressive about Three Sisters was the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the coffee (at least compared to the coffee I bought other mornings at the Gulf station up the street :-). I ordered the traditional eggs, homefries and toast breakfast and asked that the homefries be extra well done. My order and that of my cousin arrived together and it was obvious that neither of our home fries were extra well done. Aside from that, the breakfast tasted as it should. I liked the informalness of the restaurant. Though prices were a little steep, it was worth the price for the relaxed atmosphere and vibe. I will be curious next visit to see how their home made ice cream compares to Brickley's ~ RI's gold standard!

GREAT ICE CREAM & COFFEE IN PROVIDENCE ==================================== I've been to Three Sisters on Blackstone Boulevard twice since January and I love it. My in-laws live nearby and it's nice to walk to or stop by while out and about. We took our son in June and he ordered the affogato. I ordered a latte and the community kulfi almond based ice cream which was amazing. It has cardamom, pistachios and cinnamon. My husband most likely ordered vanilla. I have no idea because I just cared about my own. We will definitely be back whenever in town staying with family.

I believe so! They have a list of all of their ice creams and what dietary categories each falls within. I believe it marks vegan and GF flavors. They do have sorbets as well.

Parking at the other locations has been tricky, but parking here isn't as bad, which makes this my usual choice. The pancakes and French toast are also really solid if you're in the mood for something sweet. One of the most impressive things is how quickly the food comes out. Last time I went with my brother, our food arrived in under 10 minutes, we were honestly shocked. Their iced coffee is also great, and overall you really can't go wrong here. I had a last minute invite this morning to join a friend's reservation. I have heard great things…read moreabout this place but hadn't had the opportunity to visit yet. So it was an easy yes, to say the least! When I arrived, I walked around the corner to the entrance on Rochambeau. The waiting area inside is bright, colorful, decorated with some personal tokens, assorted cookbooks and accolades. You can just see into the kitchen and suddenly the chef and owner, Milena Pagán will appear over the cafe style doors to greet you and get you checked in for your reservation. Highly recommend a reservation if you plan to come on the weekend. The place was busy! We were taken to our spots at the bar and greeted by Milena's partner, Darcy. He took care of us from start to finish. I could not resist the brunch prie fixe menu for $45. What a steal. An entree, house made pastry, juice/coffee/tea and one of the house cocktails. I chose the shakshouka, a cardamom knot, the guava-pineapple fizz and the rebujito. I also added an iced horchata latte because I was at brunch after all! We had our drinks and pastries in front of us quickly. My juice was refreshing, tangy and just a hint of sweetness. I love guava and this was exactly what I wanted. The latte was simple but effective, hitting the spiced notes you want from horchata with the depth of good espresso to back it up. The latte in particular was delicious with the cardamom knot, the two harmonizing together for a moment of heaven on this rainy Sunday afternoon. The outside of the knot was caramelized in spots adding this great crunch and the inside was soft like a cinnamon bun. My friend mentioned it was one of her favorites and I can see why! When the shakshouka came out, the smell hit me first. Warm tomatoes, the herbs from the chimichurri, and the tostones fresh from the pan. The presentation is beautiful, inviting you to dig in immediately. I of course opted for the smashed avocado upgrade and they thoughtfully plated it on the side. I like to taste everyone together so I added it to my skillet, and began eating the dish using my tostones as my utensil. It was amazing. All those smells I mentioned before played through beautifully in the tasting. It was one of the best dishes I've ever had. My only wish was for more tostones but I know if I had asked for an additional side, they had that as an option to take. I'll make sure to do that next time! The rebujito cocktail was something I hadn't tried before so I was looking forward to it. It felt like the kind of drink you have on a hot summer day. Similar to a mojito, but with good sherry as the base alcohol instead of rum. As a side note, I think it's an incredibly clever to create a cocktail menu around sherry when you have a beer and wine license. Using a fortified wine? Brilliant. But after my experience here today, I know that brilliance is in every brick of that space. If you were like me and haven't made the trip to this spot on the corner of Hope and Rochambeau, please fix that ASAP! I can't wait to go back, and bring all my friends and family here so they can share in what I enjoyed today. Just an incredible meal and service.

However we did end up finishing within the hour - I'm not totally sure how strict they are about that rule. They also have the kitchen right where you wait to get seated, which just added to the hunger and anticipation

I'm grateful don't get me wrong just.... The food was delicious though. I'm not a huge biscuit person but the biscuit was yummy and flaky which I feel like is different from normal ones? Idk regardless was good and it came with grapefruit jam and butter yum. The hash browns were hands down my fav dish. So oily and crispy and everything a hash brown should be MMMM plus the aioli and cubed presentation. The pancakes were so good and fluffy and GIANT and the whipped butter was yummy on top. The maitake madame was something different but nonetheless good. It was very mustardy but also not too overwhelmingly mustardy and the cheese on top the crispy bread was perfect. All in all the food was superb but the long wait time is what ultimately brought this rating down. The place was also very crowded and lively up until closing, no doubt due to the delicious food

Come for the décor, stay because your food hasn't arrived yet…read moreAfter seeing WhatDidYouEatTodaySir hype up Marvin's Delicatessen, I figured it was worth the ride down from the Boston area. I love a good deli. Unfortunately, this wasn't just disappointing--it was borderline comical. Let's start with the good: the place looks fantastic. Clean, modern, really well done. If Yelp rated based on interior design alone, this place is pushing 5 stars. Now... the rest. First clue something was off--the dining room felt like a walk-in freezer. Not exaggerating: every single table had people eating in their coats. At some point you have to look around and think, "maybe we turn the heat up before someone orders a side of frostbite." Then came the wait. And the wait. And the wait. Close to an hour for deli sandwiches. During that time, I had a clear view of the kitchen, which turned into dinner and a show. Plates were coming back nonstop--wrong bread, wrong orders, total confusion. It was like watching a live-action blooper reel. Eventually, our food arrives... and of course, it's wrong. Back it goes. No big deal--mistakes happen. Round two: soup comes out with vegetables after my wife clearly explained she has an allergy. The waitress caught it (thankfully), and back it goes again. What finally came out can only be described as "chicken soup in spirit." It tasted like someone waved a bouillon cube over hot water and called it a day. No seasoning, no substance, and I'm pretty sure the "chicken" made a brief guest appearance and left. Her sandwich? Also wrong--and somehow included onions and mystery vegetables. So that was basically game over. I ordered the 50/50 (pastrami and corned beef). I say "ordered," but identifying what actually showed up was a bit of a guessing game. The meat was dry--painfully dry. The pastrami (I think?) had the texture of kindling wood and looked like it had been sliced by someone who just discovered what a knife is. Tough, stringy, and completely lacking that juicy, melt-in-your-mouth quality you expect from a deli. The waitress seemed nice enough but didn't really know the menu, and the kitchen was clearly in full chaos mode. One guy--who I assume was the owner or manager--was running around like a man trying to put out ten fires with a squirt gun. At some point, we just started laughing. Not because it was good--because it was so bad it crossed into "you can't make this up" territory. Maybe I'm spoiled coming from the North Shore, where delis take pride in their corned beef and pastrami. But if you're going to call yourself a delicatessen, you've got to at least get the basics right. This place has the look, but none of the execution. I wouldn't go back. I wouldn't recommend it. And next time I'll just stay north of the border where the sandwiches actually show up correctly--and edible.

The first time I came, it was a rainy weekday and this time it was a sunny weekend, so I was expecting an even larger crowd; and my prediction was correct. The line was just out the door but because of their awesome staff, the line was moving very quickly. While we waited in line, we could watch them making pastries through the glass, a couple feet in front of us. I admired that level of transparency. When we were third in line, the kindest lady asked us whether we'd be eating in or taking out and she took down our name to help us find a table when it came time. She did the same for the rest of the people in line. She also gave us some recommendations, including the cinnamon bun - apparently they're so good kids cry when they sell out. I didn't intend to order anything with my drink, but I couldn't get the cinnamon bun out of my head so I ordered it along with my iced spiced chai latte. The hen (I think it's their logo) on the aprons of the employees are super cute. We did secure a table. The tables are close together to maximize the number of people who can sit down but I didn't mind. I love their art all around, mostly of birds which I am obsessed with. I love that they have a lot of natural lighting coming through their tall windows. I also like the navy blue and white theme they have going on. The chai latte was perfect. It was the right color (a dark tan), meaning the ratio of tea and milk was good and I could taste a lot of the spices. The cinnamon bun blew my expectations away. The second my teeth made. contact with the icing, it was a magical feeling. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it tasted like, but the closest I got was dulce de leche. It is truly unlike any other cinnamon bun I have ever had. The dough is soft and there is a good amount of cinnamon. It's also $4 which is not bad. I had a bite of their canelé, which apparently requires a lot of work to make. It was very moist, with a great caramelized finish. I am super excited to try their new weekend dinner menu, but also more of their all day menu items.

It feels like her place in the best way -- warm, proud, hands-on. Pastries are legit. Super buttery, flaky enough to make a mess, clearly baked that morning. No sad, sitting-around-all-day vibes. Ordered the breakfast sandwich and that tomato jam needs to be illegal. Sweet, savory, slightly tangy -- it completely makes the sandwich. I kept trying to figure out how to recreate it at home. Not happening. Crispy chicken sandwich was properly seasoned and not dried out (why is that so hard for some places?). Fries were solid too -- crispy, not limp. And the kale salad with roasted chickpeas and chicken made me feel like I had my life together. Fresh, simple, and actually satisfying. It's one of those places you stumble into while traveling and then immediately start googling whether you can justify going back the next day.
