The BEST grilled pork bahn mi sandwich I've had!

While there are hundreds, if not thousands, of places to go n Houston. If you are looking for something quick and delicious this is a good stop on your way down grant road. The sandwiches are a little sweet so if you are going after a savory flavor you may need to look elsewhere. With that said the sandwiches are excellent and the choice of having it on a croissant is just an added bonus. Their soups are traditional and excellent. This place has always been great up until today. I have been coming here since they opened a few years back. My sister and I visit this place just about every week or every other week. Today I placed an order for two vegetable fried rice as I always do ( my order of fried rice has ALWAYS been the same), and they put tofu in my order. I called back and told the lady this was incorrect and she told me all veggie fried rice comes with tofu. Well why is it that I've been ordering the same fried rice for years and never had tofu in it? I politely asked her if she could remake it and she said "no just pick it out"...absolutely RIDICULOUS. I never in a million years thought Thu Thu would have such terrible customer service as they have always been super nice. Sadly, I will NOT be returning. read more

BEST FRIED TOFU EVER!!! Perfectly seasoned with hot chili oil and lemon grass. With beautiful caramelized onions!! I've been going to Thu Thu's since their old location on Antoine. I was so sad when they weren't there anymore. Never found another tofu as good as there. So happy i found them again after a few years!!! Their other dishes are on point too! Spring rolls are a must!!! They even have a tofu version of them (seasoned exactly how i described before). Fried rice, pho, and definitely recommend beverages too!! They didn't have that them before so it's nice to see they offer drinks with tapioca and jellies. The owners are so sweet and love to see their customers satisfied so don't even doubt about not coming. I could go on and on about this place. Staff was friendly , we had 3 waiters assist us , had a big group of people . The food was great , well presented, flavorful, restrooms clean . They have the best Banh Mi sandwiches in the area! I've tried multiple Vietnamese sandwich shops and this one exceeds them all. The meat is full of flavor and the sandwiches always come out nice and warm and fresh. I usually get the strawberry Banana or passion fruit smoothie and it compliments the food so well. A friend and I decided to try this place out since its new for lunch. I tried their grilled pork vermicelli. Pretty authentic to me. I liked it. I also ordered 2 of their BBQ sandwishes to go and my husband ate both. He felt it was pretty mediocre. I came back again to try their spring rolls and I felt there was way too much lettuce going on in my spring rolls. Other than that, I would come back for the vermicelli. read more

Friendly service, delicious food made to order, quality meats, very good prices and a cheery dining atmosphere. So far I've had the grilled pork Bánh mì, Com Tom Thit Nuong (char-grilled shrimp & pork) entree, Ga Nuong (char-grilled chicken) appetizer with peanut sauce and a vegetarian spring roll. It's not in the coolest location, but it's really close to our apartment and the food is really awesome! My boyfriend got the #20 - chargrilled pork over vermicelli (kind of see-through white noodles) and it was delicious (I tried some, well a lot lol). The woman who took our order was really sweet and cheery. It took about 10 minutes for the chef to make the pork and then we went home. I would give it 5 stars if there were more vegan options but I'm limited to the tofu spring rolls (which is the BEST I've had anywhere), the tofu banh mi, and one other tofu dish. The smoothies are dairy-based and the veggie pho is not vegetarian/vegan. The family that owns it is very nice. read more

Nice cafe, the food is typically good here and they're open 7 days a week. Tapioca is nice and soft but be aware that they tend to fill your cup with lots of ice and skimp on the tea. If you ask for tea with no ice they'll charge TWO extra dollars, basically the price of an additional drink. The main reason I came here is the convenience but with that much of an additional charge I'll plan on taking my money somewhere else like Tapioca Master or Heavenly Beverages for a higher quality drink. read more

One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants! I love their bahn mi. Usually at most of the places I go for char-broiled pork the bread becomes very soggy, but here it is still fresh and crunchy and their jalapeños are the perfect amount of hot and not over baring. So much yum. The service is very polite as well! Our glasses didn't even reach half full before they refilled it. Which is a huge plus in my book. Love love love! read more

This is by far my favorite place to eat. The food is fresh, delicious and made quickly. They have excellent Thai tea! My kids love the smoothies. New to the area. The girls that are there are very friendly. Food is priced reasonably. Food comes out pretty quick. Very clean. Their food is sure this Vietnamese food. They have some of the best bahn mi's I've ever tried. We usually go to china town in Bellaire, but didn't want to drive far. Ask for pate added in your bahn mi, it's like Vietnamese butter! Sooo goood!!! Their spring rolls were so good too and customer service was great. The owner's daughter was very sweet and helpful. I checked this place out on Yelp and was excited to try the restaurant. After eating there I had to come back and write a review because I was surprised at how different my experience was compared to others. I had a Bahn Mi sandwich and, contrary to all the reviews saw, the bread was horribly stale. Like break into crumbs when you bite into it stale. The beef and sandwich fillings seemed tasty, if a bit sparse, there wasn't a jalapeno and I had more egg than meat (I added an egg to the #12). But the bread makes the sandwich and it was terrible Hopefully I just got unlucky, but even if that's the case I won't be coming back. There's better Bahn Mi for cheaper around. read more

I used to eat at their Antoine location for years and was thrilled to find out they had relocated to Cypress. The food is still the most delicious Vietnamese. My favorite is the chargrilled pork vermicelli bowl, Vietnamese egg rolls and spring rolls. Food is fresh, delicious and staff is friendly. Highly recommend!! read more

Absolutely delicious. I come probably twice a month since it's some what of a far drive from my home, but the drive is well worth it. The pho is amazing, the sandwiches are amazing, the tea is amazing, and pretty much everything else about the menu is delicious. We ordered 2 number 12 sandwiches , strawberry banana smoothie with poppers, & a Thai tea with tapioca balls. They were out of Thai tea so they recommended the matcha green tea. The tea was disgusting & the tapioca balls tasted like perfume. The smoothie was okay except they put the poppers on top. Even my five your old knew something was up because how are you supposed to drink them if they are on top. I shook it and got some to move closer to the bottom. After a 30 minute wait for our to go sandwiches I asked how much longer and I was told.. oh they didn't see your order. By that time my 6 month old son was crying ready to go and I asked how much longer and they said 10 more minutes. We couldn't wait any longer so I asked for a refund and it was refused. Then all of a sudden the sandwiches were ready. The sandwiches weren't authentic at all. And they placed whole pieces of cilantro on them stem and all. I added Mayo & siracha when I got home because the sandwich was very dry. The only upside was the meat was flavored well. We will not be back and will stick with our favorite spot Heavenly. read more

The Vietnamese egg rolls are to die for I highly recommend them (sometimes I stop by just to grab a order or two) I always go for the chargrilled pork in just about any dish because it is just that juicy and delicious, I can't help it.
