My wife and I live in Portland but were recently up to Seattle only for one day (delivering a rescue dog) and decided to eat before the drive home. We went on to Groupon and saw a deal for the Fish Cake Factory so went there. We ordered and then when we went to buy the Groupon saw that it was actually sold out:-) We thought oh well we will give it a shot even at retail. Wow we were so happy! The food was great and the service superior. We rarely pay retail for a meal out but would drive 40 minutes to gladly pay retail at the Fish Cake Factory if it were in Portland. Went on a Wednesday and had a great meal with cocktails and noodles/curry. We ordered the Thai basil limeade with vodka and my husband got the dark and stormy (rum). They were refreshing and citrus-y with great flavor. For entrees we ordered a curry dish and noodles with peanut sauce. We came here for dinner on a slow week night due to the positive reviews. I feel compelled to write a review because my experience was not that of the majority of reviews I see here. Thai food is my favorite so I'm always open to trying Thai restaurants. Sadly, this place was of the worst I've had. I didn't even want to take my food home... We got House Pad Thai, Penang curry and Rama Rong song(?). All were strange tasting and came out in a suspiciously quick amount of time. The atmosphere is tacky, which is unfortunate because the space has serious potential. This place is so cute! The atmosphere is homey but stylish. The staff is knowledgeable and super friendly. My friend and I ordered the Chicken Satay, Savory Cake Sampler and Shrimp Salad. Chicken Satay was perfect and the peanut sauce is amazing! Savory Cake sampler was a two bite size of each 10 cakes on the menu. Some better than others, good way to try them all. Salad was good, lots of shrimp and a yummy dressing. Dinner got thumbs up from us. Thai Iced Tea was also really good but a bit too sweet for me. Finished with ice cream for desert. Lopez Island Creamery ice cream in Skagit Strawberry and Decidedly Chocolate. By far the best ice cream I've ever had. Unbelievable! I'll come back here for sure. I want to give this place 3.5 stars and it's mainly for their slow service during the lunch hour and consistently forgetting some of the stuff we order. So the service isn't "oh my god terrible," but during lunch, I'm pretty sure they've only got one (excellent) chef in the kitchen. So if you complain about service being slow during lunch hour, it's due to lack of resources. The waiters are pleasant and attentive, so really, the lower rated service has nothing to do with them. However, there is one part that really gets me -- so I've come here for lunch 4 times with co-workers. Every time, we have all ordered drinks from different servers and never received them. One time, the waiter remembered my co-worker's drink and brought it out free-of-charge around the same time she was done finishing her food. Other times, the drinks are included on the bill but never brought out. We point it out, they apologize, and take it off the bill. No worries, but I will just stick to water from now on to keep things simple! Service - 3 stars because kitchen is slow, but service is friendly. Food - 4 stars. If you have time during lunch, it's worth waiting for. This isn't the place that just pours on chili pepper flakes depending on the spice level you request. They actually cook the spice into the food, which is also why it takes longer. Again, great food -- they just need some help optimizing prep time in the kitchen for quicker service. read more

I've been to Ti 22 for dinner three times now and enjoyed it each time. Both the food and service are exemplary and I enjoy the atmosphere. The wait staff is attentive, knowledgeable and seem to genuinely enjoy their job. We were waited on by the bartender during our most recent visit and who was an absolute doll. He had a great personality and made very good recommendations regarding the menu. We ordered the cucumber cilantro martini and the basil martini which were divine! I had a curry dish and my boyfriend got chicken satay, both were delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone hoping to enjoy some unique Thai cuisine and truly top-notch customer service!! read more

This place is pretty standard thai. If you were to pick a random thai restaurant to order off your favourite delivery site, you'd expect the same quality you're going to get here at Ti22. That means inoffensive pad thai, sweet curries, and dry but enjoyable satay. The interior however is quite nice, elegant and comfortable, and the service staff is prompt. The one thing that this place has to recommend it over other thai restaurants in the area is its fish cakes, which are varied and well-crafted, never overcooked, and always fresh. It's the only thing I'd order here now, since it's the one thing that's head and shoulders above what you'll find everywhere else. read more

I was pretty pissed at Fish Cake Factory the first time I went there because of the inordinately slow service; we left after almost an hour without having gotten our food. But I had to go back because I had bought two Groupons and Groupon only refunded me one after I complained, so I still had another one to use. The food is pretty good here. So if you're willing to wait, for no apparent reason, even when there aren't any other tables, I recommend the crab fried rice, and the fish cake sampler. Just bring a book or someone REALLY interesting to talk to. Or show up drunk. Whatever makes time pass faster. Maybe the wait won't seem that long if you're expecting to wait. read more

Last night before meeting people on the Hill I came to this place for dinner. The food and service was excellent. I had their tom yum soup with an order of Indian Curry Salmon cakes, a combination that didn't just leave me full but gave me that delighted satisfaction that kings must have felt after a banquet. I've been going to this restaurant for a couple of years. It recently came under new management and the quality and customer service has taken a serious dip. Pretty disappointing. I placed an order for pickup, and they told me it would be ready in 15 minutes. It took them 45 minutes to finish my order. When I went to pick it up, they said they were sorry that it took a while, but it was because they were really busy. The restaurant didn't look packed, so I'm not sure about the truth of that statement. Furthermore, I would have been fine waiting longer as long as they were upfront about it when I was placing my order. The woman who took my order was also abrasive on the phone and kept randomly interrupting to talk to other customers. I ordered the red curry with a side of rice. The rice they gave me was in the smallest container I have ever seen. It was a bit insulting since rice isn't even an expensive commodity! I ordered online and the order said it would be ready in 15 minutes. So, I waited and showed up to pick up my order but the team never "accepted" it, so it was not there for me to pick up. I was already there so I decided to put in my order since they said it would take just 5 minutes. It ended up taking closer to 20 by the time I got it and then my order ended up being WRONG! Good food, shaky service. The fish cake sample plate was good - I wasn't a huge fan of the Thai Fish Cakes the texture lacked any chunks of fish. The Crab Cakes and others on the platter were really good. The menu on their website says you get 11 fish cakes with the order - it's actually 10 and there are duplicates (2 crab cakes, 2 Thai cakes) when on a "sampler plate" you wouldn't expect that - strange. We also got the spring rolls and Pad Thai - which were both very good - which makes up for some of the platter shortcomings and bumps them up to a 3-star. If I were to go back, I might just get the crab cakes or something, along with the spring rolls and Pad Thai. read more

The fish cake sampler was ok. Fish cakes are their specialty right? We got ours on the house bc they took 30 min to get our order and another 25 min to serve our food. They were nice enough to let us have the sampler for free. I took off a star bc the food was ok and the service was slower than average. Restaurants appears to always be empty but it's so close to my place I get take outs all the time. Although the fish cakes themselves are mediocre, the fried rice and curries are good. The service staff is always friendly which is nice. But I think my favorite is the carrot cake they have on their counter, so moist and delicious! Ti22 is much better than Golden Singha, which is closer to our apartment, but I'll be walking here for Thai because the food is superior. Ordered the Pad Kee Mao and a stir fry dish and both were great. Very tasty. Ordered takeout, and when we got home I realized I should have also ordered some rice to go with it (now we know for next time!). Agree with the other reviewers the marketing is a bit confused here. The bartender was very nice and attentive and talked about how this place is meant to be a cocktail bar. They have very modern decor and you wouldn't guess they serve Thai food, which almost deterred us from trying this place, but don't let that stop you- the food is great. read more
