I've had my fair share of brown sugar bobas and Tiger Sugar easily lands in my top 3. For one, ordering our drinks was very convenient. I had SnackPass downloaded coming from the Bay area and was excited to see that it had made its way to New York City. Our drinks came out in around 5 minutes despite them being quite busy in the afternoon. Secondly, the drink itself was not too sweet, which in my opinion, a lot of boba shops make the mistake of doing. You have the option of choosing 0 or 50% sweetness (kinda weird), but even my parents were able to handle 100% sweetness and they're both not much of a sweet tooth. An added bonus: the boba stayed warm and chewy while the drink was cool and refreshing. However, if I were you, I would only stick with the brown sugar bobas here. This review was based off of me stealing sips of my parents' drinks... I ordered the black sugar lemon tea and it was really bitter even for 100% sweetness. It was pretty busy on a weekend afternoon, so we waited around 15 min for our drinks. Some people wait distanced in the corner inside or just out on the sidewalk. Did it live up to the hype? They weren't super pricy unfortunately they only had one size but it's just enough. They are in the sweet side because of the brown sugar . I got their popular Black Sugar Boba + Pearl with Cream mousse. After shaking it a million times (more than 15), I got to experience the sweet tasty brown sugar in the cup. I enjoyed the taste, but the tapioca pearls was not what I have hoped it to be. They felt like they needed to be cooked more as it was not very chewy and hard. Maybe just an off day? I read about this place a little while ago and I finally had a chance to get here. After reading some reviews I was expecting a long wait but luckily there was only two people in front of me on line. So I ended up getting Tiger Sugar twice on Sunday because it's that addictive. There are a lot of choices on the menu with very slight modifications to each one. Honestly , kinda chaotic. It could be just me. As for ordering, they have a kiosk inside if you're paying by card and for cash payments you can order at the register. When your drink is ready your ticket number will be called and it will also appear on the screen. I ordered the brown sugar boba + pearl with cream mousse + chocolate malt. The chocolate malt brings back childhood memories of Ovaltine. Surprisingly the chocolate malt goes very well with the drink. But, I would suggest you sticking to the original if it's your first time (without the malt). A friend recently tried the tiger jelly and said it elevated the drink. For sure going to try that next time! Can someone tell me which one is the regular sized tapioca pearls? Boba or pearl? I can never get it right. Was in the canal street branch that open up recently and decide to duck in as there was minimal wait on line to try their boba tea. First impressions: IMO, the boba tea didn't taste artificial. I believe they use cane sugar and creme as their main ingredients and because of this have the drink a more natural feel rather than the typical powdery artificial taste you get from the run of mill bubble tea places. The boba bubbles were pretty tasty as well. Didn't feel too artificial either which was nice. Also the drink wasn't too sweet either .. just perfect if you ask me. My past experience shows that anywhere they open they create a vortex and draw 80 to 90 percent of all bubble tea customers in the area so expect to wait some before you get your Boba. Do I love Tiger Sugar? Heck Yeah. But do I like the Chinatown branch of Tiger Sugar? Heck No. I'm not sure why they opted to design the storefront in this way, but it's definitely not organized in anyway. There's a doorway that leads to the cash register and then the sides are sectioned off by 2 "walls". When you have over 40 tickets to fill, there's a TON of people waiting on either side of the line. That makes the line extremely hard to navigate - you don't even know who's on line or who's waiting for their drink. Also, unlike the other 2 branches, there's no one helping you out while you're on line to figure out what you want. There's no menu up anywhere on the walls or on the TV screens so if you're new to Tiger Sugar (like my coworkers), you really have no idea of figuring out what you want until you get to the counter. I'd also like to mention that they kind of arbitrarily send out orders. They went from an order 10 tickets before us, to the one 1 ticket before us, and then back to a ticket that was 6 before us. read more

Whatever brown sugar syrup they soak the bubbles in is magic. The texture is also perfect. - the main factor that suffers the most is the tea flavor. I read about this new boba chain opening up and the teenager in me that subsisted on milk tea wanted me to try it. I came this week just around closing at around 9:30pm with no line. I was told bluntly that there was only small boba, which was fine with me. I asked what the most popular drink is there so I could just try what they're known for. My drink was like 85% ice..... At $6 a cup that's just a rip off. There isn't even a spot to specify anything different about your drink unless you pay with cash. There's a automatic order station and you can pay with card there. Two stars for the flavor. I got the tiger jelly and brown sugar boba. I'm not one to complain like that, but seriously?
