I was in Chinatown, Lower East Side, NYC during my professional travels and had to attain bubble tea to satisfy my bubble tea fix. I have not seen a Coco bubble tea chain for a long time. Customer service is average but patient. I did obtain my sales receipt and drink label. Passion fruit green tea, medium $5.28 The ice melted entirely. It suddenly became room temperature and luke warm and undrinkable. This location sits on Division Street, Lower East Side, Chinatown, Manhattan, NYC. The actual tea was suffocating mediocre for taste. I really wish there were more options for the fresh fruit tea menu selection. There is no Oolong tea. There is no Jasmine. There is no Jasmine green tea. The flavors are also limited as there no peach, no orange, no strawberry, and no honey. My ulterior motive was to attain my favorite default grass jelly loeng4 fan2 涼粉 which was embedded as a topping to my drink at $0.69. The grass jelly loeng4 fan2 涼粉 was average and minimal for paucity. My 30% sugar level requst was in compliance. Price is reasonable for the value. Coco proved to be remarkably unremarkable. read more

Coco is one of my favorite bubble tea brands! Their teas are amazing quality and they're always adding fun, new drinks/flavors to their menu! I was SO bummed when they closed the one in Hackensack...The only NJ location left is in Jersey City, which is out of the way for me. Luckily, I was in NYC and stumbled upon the Chinatown location on Division Street! It's SUPER tiny and can probably fit 4-5 people. There isn't any seating and there's very little standing room. It's best to order ahead on the app so you can get in and out quickly. Their menu has all your favorites - milk teas, fruit teas, slushies, toppings. The most popular drink is their classic black milk tea. You can adjust the sugar and ice levels. You can order at the counter or on the self-service kiosks. Then she said I was famous from YouTube and I go to all the bubble tea places and "help them" and could she take pictures with me. It's always fun doing a mini shoot with Boba employees, makes me feel like a celebrity. This was the first time I heard from a stranger that I "help" boba shops, then I'd hear someone else say something very similar at a nearby Vivi. It was very touching, but not in a creepy way. So I took pictures with her. I didn't bother to let her know that it's actually Yelp not YouTube but you know they're both web sites and they both start with Y so what's the difference. She was a total angel anyway and I dedicate this review to her. And to him for recognizing me which is always fun. A very long time ago I was very fortunate to discover the Wonder of Coco. Great Neck was the very first location I ever tried and I fell madly in love with the bubble tea drinks here. I actually think this place was so good, that it was one of the reasons I became obsessed with Bubble Tea in the first place. I've probably had 3,500 of the things since then. But not all from this location. Most, but not all. Their hot milk tea is perfect in winter, and their cold milk tea is divine. Coco is one of my favorite bubble tea shops in the US. That being said, even though we were in a rush, we passed this location on the way to Xin Wong BBQ and had to stop in. There was no line on a Monday afternoon so it was perfect. I ordered my usual, the 3 Guys (三兄弟) and it was delicious, as usual. Milk tea filled with pudding, boba and grass jelly. It's like they knew those were my top three toppings and put it into an affordable drink option, as additional toppings usually cost extra. It can get a little sweet since the toppings are sweetened themselves, so I prefer to cut down on the sugar level. Medium is just enough for me, and for $4, it's just fine. Cash only, ugh. So make sure to have some cash on you if you're looking to get some Coco. But honestly, if you're in Chinatown, you should have had cash on you regardless. Doesn't look like there's much seating (ok like no seating basically) so this isn't exactly the place to sit and hang, more of a grab-and-go. So grab your Coco beverage and head to a nearby Chinese restaurant. read more

I would assume I want to be satisfy or at least drinkable. The guy at the shop said he already put sugar and there's nothing can about it .. he cannot remake it . I got the taro milk tea with light ice and 50% sweet and boba. Unfortunately, the taro flavor was nonexistent and just tasted like sweet milk. You can look at the picture and see how there is hardly any purple color to it. It also was one of the most expensive at $5 for their smallest size. Reviewers seem to like this place so I would definitely get a new flavor next time and do not recommend taro. I'm giving it a star bc they had a good amount of boba in it. read more

Havent had Coco's drinks in so long and it was on my way so decided to give it a try again. They have a smashed taro milk series that is made from fresh taro from Taiwan. They have three versions - without boba, with regular boba or with QQ balls. I got the one without boba. I requested less ice but should have requested less sugar (if it was possible) It was way too sweet and i mainly taste milk. There were taro but hard to consume since it was chunky. I was basically drinking milk and eating really sweet taro. Kind of pointless for me to get this kind of drink. Maybe it is my fault. But the service was good and the staffs were nice. I would come back and try a different drink and definitely request less sugar. read more

We got the smashed taro QQ milk and Hojicha tea with milk cap. I've always loved coco as a kid when I went back to China and my impression of it has always been good quality boba. Nothing spectacular, but good. I usually just get their milk teas (which are great!), but decided to branch out and try some others in the us nyc location. They were good but definitely a bit underwhelming. The taro drink just has a bit too much milk and it kind of felt like drinking milk with hints of taro. With the abundance of bubble tea chains popping up in NYC, I have no idea if I had already tried this company..(need to check my old photos on my phone). With the chilly days upon us, I wanted bubble tea but I wanted it hot, which I know these chain stores offer but not sure which flavors would taste good (because I always get them iced) and not sure how hot tapioca balls would taste.  I usually walk past this store on my way to and from my gma's church.   I was craving a bubble tea and said let's go to this spot.   When I entered there store, the cashier was helping one person and there was one other person preparing the drinks.   I saw one other family waiting for their order.    The cashier lady spotted me but I told her I was not ready yet. The place seemed sort of spacious (compared to the places that have just enough space to stand to order and pick up your drink) but there were no tables for seating. I decided to get the taro milk bubble tea bc that seemed like a flavor that would taste good hot..I got it to-go(in a bag) bc I wasn't sure how hot the drink was and didn't want to cause any problems drinking hot stuff with a plastic straw.  Just to be on the safe side, I waited before popping the straw in.   While waiting for the train to head home, I started drinking it.   I waited about 20 mins and it had already cooled down significantly, it tasted slightly warmer than room temperature.  So it made me wonder how hot the drink was if I had sipped right when received. read more

So happy that I stumbled upon COCO while walking to my subway stop! I had a Yakult Mango bubble tea, and my sister had a passion fruit green tea with bubbles. I love that they have the Yakult here because I rarely come across this milk drink anywhere else and its combo with the tea is phenomenal IMO. My sister has only ever had bubble tea once, and she was really blown away by her passion fruit green tea. The bubbles were the right kind of chewy, and tasted fresh. Making my trek from the hotspots of Chinatown, I felt thirsty and thankfully spot this small but new milk tea joint. There was no line when I went, so I promptly made my order to a young friendly cashier who answered my questions on drink choices. Decorations are minimalistic but clean. I got the sweet black tea with milk foam on top and it was delish. The milk foam/cream is actually a little bit salty, but it goes so well with the sweet tea on the bottom. You have to mix the two up as it doesn't mix automatically. You can also tell the cashier to control the amount of sweetness you want in your tea. I got half sweet and that was perfect. The regular amount of sugar isn't as sweet as other places like kung fu tea, but I absolutely love that because other places are waaaay too sweet.
