Ambiance: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Drinks: 5/5 Price: 4/5 Parking: 2/5 Came by on a Sunday evening with a reservation. Alyssa was our primary server, and she was AMAZING! The whole team was honestly fantastic! Great food and drinks with a very contemporary tiki theme. Only downside was the space was pretty warm, and parking (which they obviously aren't in control of) was rough! Will gladly return down the road!

This was my third visit since November, with each one being progressively better. If you tried it early on, it is worth revisiting. The drinks were very well balanced this time, which was previously my main gripe. Drinks - Navy Grog 5/5: They have it down now; the blend really tickles the pallet, with a splash of tart citrus at the end. The honey adds bodyband a note of sweetness, without making it a sugar bomb. - Mai Tai 4.5/5: More mint than I am used to, but in a pleasant way, with a sweet citrus body and almost herbal finish. *Their Monkey Pod Mai Tai looked spot on, but I was told the orgeat was almond instead of macadamia Food - Jidori Fried Chicken Sandwich 3.5/5: The texture was great: juicy yet crispy, but the slaw sort of overpowered the other flavors, and the mango (I think) was not ripe. I thought that it was just renamed, but I did notice any of the buttermilk flavor from last time - Oahu Burger 3/5: The patty was thick and I enjoyed the grilled pineapple, but a little bit of the fermented gpchu aioli can go a looong way. I will likely venture to the Ocean side of the menu next time. We sat out front, at the kidney shaped table. As expected, conversations were not private and service was a bit slower. However, the weather was great and the faux plants grew on us throughout the evening. Special thanks to Michael F., who took care of our area towards the end. He checked in and filled our waters more in the last 15 minutes theb we experienced during the first hour.

The drinks are amazing! You can't go wrong with any of them.

What a fun place to eat at! We made a day of it with some friends and device all the way from OC! The food was amazing! We even ordered their garlic noodles to go and recommended them to people sitting by us. You can't beat this ambiance, it is gorgeous inside and out, but especially the inside case it gets dark with their lit floors.

Was out in Hermosa meeting people for brunch, and Tiki Kai was literally across the street, so I made a quick reservation and we headed over after brunch to indulge in some tiki culture and libations. First, there is indoor and outdoor seating, so where you sit is up to you. But unsure is where all the decor and gives are, so I'd say drink indoors and enjoy the whole ambiance. If you choose to sit at the bar, some of the drinks come with a show, like a fire show, so if you're into that, or want fun videos to put on IG or Tik Tok, the bar may be the way to go. The drinks were, as tiki drinks tend to be, delicious. Great mixture of spirits with tropical juices, with other ingredients. They also just added the Monkey Pod Mai Tai, which the Money Pod is a restaurant bar in Maui known for their Mai Tai, which is topped with a lilikoi (passion fruit) foam. The PK HB is their version of a Painkiller, also very good. And the Ube Your Thirst, which I'm not really an Uber person, was very good, much better then I thought it would be. We also tried other cocktails, ask tasty and we'll balanced. Overall, if you're into tiki drinks, or just a fan of quality cocktails, and around Hermosa Beach, definitely stop by and grab a drink

Lovely Tiki bar! Amazing lighting makes the vibe so cozy. The food and drinks are super good. I had: 1. Mai Tai 2. Jet pilot 3. PKHB 4. Tropical ceviche 5. Firecracker shrimp 6. Island wings 7. Furikake fries - shoestring fries 8. Pule hu steak

I loved this place! Tried it for the first time with a large group and had almost the whole menu (so this is a real review lol). We were a big group so I know it's tough, but we had two servers for our table and they were on it! The espresso cocktail was the drink of the night, would go back just for that! Food was soo delicious, with the garlic noodles being my favorite. Presentation was so on point with the tiki vibe, all food and drinks looked absolutely stunning. Great spot to walk around after too since it's right on the beach. I am definitely coming back here it was delicious, great service, and pretty spot!

Ambiance - ok so have to say this is one of the coolest looking spot on the pier . The theme is amazing and they didn't skimp on the decor the whole tiki bar/lounge feel was spot on . Food- I actually didn't expect allot and thought it was more of a gimmick but boy was I surprised the food was amazing . The pupu platter we picked wings, crab raggon and shrimp . We also had French toast and garlic noodles which were probably some of the tastiest ever . Drinks - the drinks were really good . For drinks with cinnamon ask for no cinnamon or easy since they kind of go heavy on that . But other than that the drinks didn't disappoint . Over all the total experience was amazing

    Enjoy a drink!

If you want an experience, come here! I thoroughly enjoyed coming here. It was for a girlfriend's birthday and we loved the ambiance. The menu was delectable with a lot of different options. We started with pupus with the crispy rice with a slight spice taste, hamachi crudo, chicken karage, and firecracker shrimp. Then we had the garlic noodles with chicken, fried rice with shrimp and miso black cod. The drinks were super fun. I got the Hawaiian coffee and it was strong and nice with a bit of a kick. The food was good, drinks were fun, and ambiance is great! Christian and Rafa were really accommodating and helpful! Who doesn't love sitting outside with great service? Remember life is short, so make the most of every moment!!!

Tiki Kai gave me major Hawaii vibes! The food was delicious, the drinks were good, and the atmosphere was so fun and tropical also service was friendly. A little pricey, but definitely a nice spot for a good time and island vibes! We will be back: )

    The Jet Pilot

Huge tiki fan here and I've had Tiki Kai on my list for a bit. This is the prettiest, newest looking tiki bar I've ever been to. The attention to detail is beyond comparable - from the fixtures hanging above the bar, to the little details decorating the dining area and the lights behind the bar. Everything is so well thought out and fully instagrammable. The place is huge too with plenty of seating outside and in but you must at least sit inside once to appreciate all the effort put into the decor. We ordered a tiki drink, beer and the Crab Rangoon appetizer and the service was quick and friendly. The tiki drink, the Jet Pilot, was a rum drink that came out on fire. So fun! And the crab rangoons came out swimming in a sweet chili sauce that was perfect. We will come back for dinner next time. Parking is tough because you are at the pier but there is a free garage right behind the restaurant that you might get lucky enough to find a spot in. Otherwise, it's streets parking sweetie, but worth it in this case.

    Garlic noodles were great

It was our first time here while visiting hermosa beach. The vibe was cool, lots of skulls and decor as if your in Hawaii....great service as well. The appetizers were mid and very pricy, the food itself was very good. It's a family style menu and the portions are regular, for the cost they should give larger portions. It was overall a good experience but $18 drinks $50 appetizers, I wouldn't come back but would recommend for the experience

This is such a cute little place. I haven't been to Hermosa Beach in years but we came here to celebrate a friends bday, it was 9 of us. We had reservations for the indoor/outdoor fire pit at 6pm but we weren't seated until almost 630pm. The host said Saturday is one of their busiest nights so be prepared for that if you plan on being a walk-in. It was pretty packed. However, even with it being crowded the attentiveness of the servers was superb. Now the food. We got 2 pupu platters. You have the option of 5 items or 3 items. You have a wide variety of things you can put on the pupu platters which we appreciated. We had wings, shrimp, ribs, & crispy rice. We also ordered additional sides like fries, cucumbers, and garlic noodles. I also had the tuna bowl and another friend had a burger. All the food was good. Most everything on the menu is designed to be shared so that worked out for it being 9 of us. We also had drinks and they were good. For those who don't drink alcohol the mocktails are also really good. Something for everyone.

The most gorgeous interior. I really want to make a reservation next time, because I didn't get lucky with interior seating. We had three cocktails. Our first two were better and more balanced (ube your thirst & jet pilot). At $16, the last one (fisherman's son) my boyfriend got was disappointing. The huli huli chicken was tasty.

    All ages ok

Are kids allowed to enjoy this establishment?

Yes, but it is really adult centric.

    Are you family friendly?

Right now the front gal won't let you past to know if they are family friendly or not. The other girl is nice and will answer questions. But the other will contradict everything said. I didn't see any Children there on the outside and it didn't…

It's literally walking distance from our hotel in Torrance -- so close we actually walked past it the first time without even realizing it was there. Super hidden, easy to miss. The space itself is small, and when you first walk in it doesn't hit you with an over-the-top tiki vibe right away. But once the drinks start coming out, it fully delivers. The glassware is so fun and themed -- I was obsessed with the flamingo cup and actually ended up buying a couple online since I couldn't take the real one home with me. Drink-wise, I stuck mostly to my usual zombie, which has this great earthy, cinnamon-y flavor that's just different from anything else -- does the trick every time (there's a two-drink max/minimum on it, which I respect). We also tried a Makahiki Mua and a Painkiller, both really solid. The Makahiki Mua had a fun flavor, kind of similar to a Painkiller, but the zombie is still my go-to. Service was pretty good overall -- the bartender stayed mostly in one corner of the bar, which actually worked in our favor since we got served fast. A couple of small quirks though: they only have a limited number of menus, so we kept having to pass one back and forth around the bar, which felt a little silly. They also seemed to be running low on drink cups at times, having to wash and rotate them back into use, which was an odd thing to notice at a bar this size. Also wish they had some food or snacks available, even something small -- but that's a minor gripe. Vibe-wise, this is easily one of my favorite tiki lounges I've been to -- doesn't quite topple Broken Compass Tiki for me, but it's up there. Fun, easy, great drinks, solid service despite the small hiccups, and a perfect spot if you're staying in the Torrance area. Would absolutely go back and would recommend it to anyone chasing that tiki lounge crawl.

After our party of six chatted over cocktails and preyed on pupus, we moved to a "secret" room tucked in the back of Stowaway and walked into a Belly Of The Beast. The founders and co-owners of Stowaway, Leonard Chan and Dominic Iapello, created this extension to the tiki bar with a wildly interesting Pinocchio theme and the famed encounter with Monstro the whale all the while serving the same offerings in Stowaway but with also an exclusive limited menu just for this adventure. With its proximity to Disneyland and its Enchanted Tiki Room, with the very niche underground-like society of tiki culture they found a consistent customer base and the thrill of island escapism through colorful cocktails, pleasurable pupus, tropical trimmings, and nostalgic know-how. How would my belly handle the beastly drinks concocted here!? PURCHASE(S) Gepetto's Last Words ($16.00): Intrigued by the cocktail's name, this elixir was crafted with Fid Street Gin, tangerine, creme de violette, lemon, and cucumber, it was a citrusy refreshing sweet drink that was decorated with bright yellow petals. It was nice, but for whatever reason it just didn't quite hit the spot. [ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 4.0 of 5.0 STARS] Onion Rings ($9.00): A decent portion with rings of medium to large sizes, these were hot, dark golden browned, crunchy, and had a slight tendency to crumble when bitten into while the onion ring (sweet Maui!) rarely pulled out at times. They were lightly oily while the catsup wasn't needed but used. SERVICE While in Stowaway, we informed our male server to let us know when we were allowed to enter the belly. Once inside and situated, we had the place and bartender to ourselves. After we all perused the menu, we placed our orders, and everything arrived within ten minutes. The rest of the time was spent chatting, picture taking, and our bartender checked in on us also giving a Dole Whip taster. All was casual, chill, and somewhat on island time - aloha and mahalo! PARKING (FREE): They shared a medium-sized private lot with several other businesses who were closed at this time with plenty of spots - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE "Hidden" inside Stowaway which was located within a strip mall, the entire theme was based on the Pinocchio story, the interlude in time spent inside Monstro, and as we entered it felt like the beginning of the Disneyland "Storybook" ride as you road a canal boat into the mouth and sharp teet of a whale. There were several marionettes (appropriate and non-appropriate) that hung from the ceiling and belly walls, along with other Disneyesque memorabilia, a few sitting booths, and a tiny bar at the end of the roo. No natural lighting whatsoever while an assortment of extremely low-lit electric lights and table candles glowed. There were no TVs while I couldn't recall any background music. ATTIRE Although I was actually dressed appropriately for the occasion in an aloha shirt, linen pants, and flip-flops, this place was totally casual, so a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops would suffice. OVERALL Belly Of The Beast was an adventurous fun evening with friends, it left me feeling childlike with the need to watch "Pinocchio", and I couldn't wait to return to try more of their awesome-soundling elixirs. I generally loved all-things Disneyana, and this new wrinkle, albeit probably not approved by the mouse ears brass, caught my fancy. My one drink was tasty but just didn't hit the right spot, the onion rings were very good, the prices were a tad elevated, the atmosphere was awesome, and the service was friendly and professional. They had an extremely limited menu, and there was some doubt whether or not ordering from the Stowaway menu was an option. Plus, I always preferred to support small local mom & pop businesses. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $27.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

This spot opened about a year ago, and has a cool speakeasy style entrance at the Highland Park Bowl bowling alley. It is a small space, and I would highly recommend making a reservation on Resy. You have 90 minutes to drink and dine. I parked behind the bowling alley where there is a medium sized pay parking lot. Park in a space, remember your space number painted on the ground, and go to the pay station at the end of the lot. I found the parking machine to be extremely finicky as did other people. After ten minutes of failure, I ended up moving my car to another space, and then it worked. This has nothing to do with the Lucky Tiki, but FYI if you park there. We walked around to the front of the bowling alley, and checked in. Seating options include at the bar, tiki hut booths, and high top tables. The décor inside is a tiki lovers paradise. The room has a high ceiling with many tiki lamps, floats, puffer fish, tiki huts, thatch, ropes, barrels, netting, carvings, a hanging canoe, and a large tiki right in the middle of the space. In addition to the great décor, when you order certain drinks, special effects are triggered. There was also great tiki music playing all evening. We sat at the bar since we always enjoy talking to the bartenders. We actually ran into Skipper Christian in the parking lot on the way in, and he ended up being our main bartender, with Nick and Jo also working behind the bar. We put in a food order right away. The chicken potstickers ($12) came with five tasty bites, and the garlic teriyaki dipping sauce was good. We also had the giant pretzel ($16) which comes with mustard, beer cheese, and ranch sauces. This was excellent, and the perfect filling snack before a bunch of drinks. My first drink was the Siren's Song (Flor de Cana Eco rum, lemon juice, cassis, Oloroso sherry, apricot foam topper, $19). This drink is served in a great mermaid with skull mug and triggers special sound effects and bubbles fill the air. Those bubbles on top of the drink had a great light citrusy apricot flavor, probably the best flavored bubbles I've ever had. The drink itself was very good and balanced with some complexity. She wasn't sure what to order at first, and Christian asked her what flavors she liked. He ended up making a spin on a Tradewinds with some mango and pineapple to go along with the apricot and coconut. It was nicely balanced and not too sweet, even with all that fruit in there. My second drink was the Sun of Suns (Tierra de Acre mezcal, coconut cream, Giffard mango liqueur, pineapple juice, lime juice, $17). This was coconut and pineapple forward with some good smokiness in the background. Her second drink was the Whatever Floats Your Boat (Ford's gin, lemon juice, velvet falernum, orgeat, passion fruit syrup, guava soda, topped with hazelnut passion fruit foam, $19). It is served in a cool boat mug, and triggers thunder sound effects and lighted mechanical Polynesian tiki characters paddling a canoe over the bar. This was another good balanced drink. It was a little gin forward and the passion fruit popped out, maybe from being both in the drink and the foam top. That creamy hazelnut passion fruit form on top is delicious. I'd happily have a glass of that on its own. We were still a little hungry so we ordered the Hawaiian pizza (marinara, diced pepperoni, red onion, pineapple chunks, hot capicola ham, $16). It was another good tasting, perfectly sized snack, and the crust was light and airy. We were already fifteen minutes over our time limit, but we got the green light to stay longer to order a third drink to share. We ordered the Tiki Diablo (Flor de Cana Eco rum, Worthy Park 109 rum, Alma Tepecha chile liqueur, orange juice, lime juice, mango syrup, guava soda, $24). This drink serves two people, is served in a cool volcano bowl with glowing red lava around it, and comes with a fire show. Unfortunately, right after it was served, the host came over and said we were over our time and had to leave shortly. Christian made up for it by giving us two tall pours to go enjoy in the bowling alley bar area which was fine. We were happy we got some extra time inside. The drink was also very good, balanced with a little complexity. We had a great time. There is so much great décor to look at. The drinks and food were very good, and some of the the drink presentations and special effects were the icing on the cake. All of the bartenders were very friendly and a lot of fun. We purchased up a few zombie glasses to take home as a souvenir. I'd definitely recommend visiting the Lucky Tiki in Highland Park!

Adorable speakeasy with a fortune teller as a doorbell…read more Drinks 3/5 Painkiller $18 - This drink comes out with a show as they light a part of it on fire. I didn't fancy the flavor and this is a very popular drink so it stinks up the place every time it gets served to someone. Dark Magic $18 - Objectively not a bad drink but too tart for my partner and I didn't prefer the flavor. Service 5/5 Standard service. Our waitress got us some free shots, very kind. :) Ambiance 4/5 I love the vibes, the darkness, the decor. It's just too stinky and smokey whenever they serve the Painkiller.

THANK YOU, HOLLAND!…read more Holland gave us amazing customer service! She was attentive, kind, and genuinely friendly from the moment we arrived. She checked on us throughout the night without being intrusive and made us feel so welcome. We came around 8:00 p.m. and caught a beautiful sunset. The waves and ocean breeze made the experience even better. The seafood fettuccine was absolutely delicious, and I also recommend the shrimp cocktail. If the photographer offers to take your picture, say yes! We got beautiful photos for only $20. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place when you're in Redondo.

Where do I begin? Old Tony's isn't for everyone, and you can tell by the mixed reviews. But for me,…read moreit's an absolute gem. I love everything about it--the nostalgia, the worn carpet, the old solid wood chairs, the smell, the smiles, the conversations, and even those seagulls waiting for food at the windows. Every bit of the atmosphere has its own charm. Give me all of it! That said, I want to focus on two things: the food and the service. Food The menu is classic and dependable, with a few daily specials mixed in. I get it...it may not be the most unforgettable meal you'll ever have, but it's consistently solid. The steaks come out with beautiful grill marks and great flavor. The baked potatoes are a 10/10and those giant Idaho russets are divine! The house salad is another winner, topped with house dressing, egg, and bay shrimp. Honestly, can I get all larger portion of this, please! The lobster has always been one of my dad's favorites. It's his go-to order, and he loves dipping every bite into that melted butter. Overall, I'd rate the food a 7.5/10. Good, satisfying, and exactly what I expect when I come here. Service Now let's talk about the service. In the dozen or more times I've dined here, I've never had a bad experience. But this last visit was truly unforgettable. Our waitress, Lora, was amazing in every way. Her smile, genuine care, and attention to detail didn't feel rehearsed or taught...it all came so naturally. She has a rare ability to make people feel welcomed and appreciated. Her kindness was so genuine that you wanted her to pull up a chair and join the conversation. She's that great. In all my years of dining out, I can honestly say she's in my top three servers of all time. Because of experiences like this, I'll continue to patronize Old Tony's despite any flaws it may have. For me, the positives far outweigh the negatives. A big thank you to Lora and the entire staff. Keep up the great work!
