I have waited a week to let myself cool off to ensure I'm not letting my anger get in the way of being objective. I've only had one experience with Timmons Subaru, I took my mother's Forester in when she had a coolant leak. I was a bit surprised when I picked it up, and a new radiator hose cost $700, but I was selling the car within the month, so I kind of forgot about it. They said a stick had punctured the hose, and showed me the stick. Kind of an odd story, but whatever. This rating stems from my late 70's neighbor who is widowed. She shouldn't be driving, but that's another issue. She hit the curb in her 2011 Forester, and popped the tire. She called me in tears when it happened, and I got AAA over to her and she apparently had them take it to the dealer (Timmons). I cringed when she told me that, but let it ride. The next day, she came over with the estimate: $980 for a new tire and rim, with a new TPMS sensor, $138.oo for an oil change, and $300 for a brake fluid change. Conveniently, they had already changed the oil and brake fluid. That brake fluid was fine, they told her it was "dirty". The only reason to change brake fluid is if water gets into the system. Her car had 18k miles, and sits in the garage when it's not being driven. Can't tell you about the appearance of the fluid, though, because it's been changed. For $300.00. Unbelievable. So, I can't change what's been done, but I can sure address the $980 estimate for a tire and rim. I called Performance Plus two blocks down, and they were able to get me an OEM Subaru rim, an identical tire, and reuse the same TPMS sensor, since it worked fine, installed and aligned for $340.00. Done and back to her the same day. 'm just going to leave this review with that. They saw her coming a mile away. This is not the way to pay for your new showroom...she's an old lady who knows nothing about cars. Performance Plus didn't lose money on that job, meaning you were going to profit over $640 off one job that you had already scammed a $300 brake fluid change from, and a quite expensive oil change, too. My 2014 Forester started leaking from the transmission area. It wasn't too bad a leak, but with my hectic schedule, it wasn't gonna get taken care of anytime soon. Chis C accommodated my schedule and really helped us out. I need a vehicle to get to work so after learning that the Forester was gonna stay at the shop for an extended amount of time, they provided a pretty well equipped loaner (pictured there with my black Forester,) free of charge! Once finished my car came to me cleaner than when I left it. No weird seating positions, no leftover fart smells or stains in my interior. I know there's a lot of cliche stereotypes when it comes to car dealerships and salesmen, and I had my guard up when I initially walked into Timmons. But this dealership is DIFFERENT! This gentleman named Gary greeted me as I walked in and walked with me as I browsed through their inventory. He asked me thought provoking questions about what I would be primarily using the vehicle for and what was most important to me in my search for the right vehicle for my family and myself. I told him I wanted something with some style but I also wanted something that would be comfortable enough for us to take our annual camping trip up to Yosemite. Gary walked with me all around the lot and answered all my fourteen thousand questions I had and I even felt bad because it was freezing cold outside and he joked that he was getting his steps in for the day and the cold was helping him build his immunity. A sense of humor in a salesmen, that's hard to find. We found the perfect car and the exact color I was looking for. We signed all the paper work and Gary showed me all the brilliant technology of the car and held my hand to help me understand the apple car play as I'm not tech savvy at all. After everything was settled and I thanked Gary for his time and patience I had one last selfish request. Being 36 and past my cool phase and condemned by my 14 yr old daughter as being a boring dad, I asked Gary if he had time to show me the WRX GT just for kicks. He replied with a "Heck yes, let's check it out!!". I would be hesitant with this Subaru dealership as it has a poor management team running the show. The sales man that was working with me was super nice and knowledgeable, but as soon as I was handed to the manager at this dealership, that's where the experience turned sour. I had mentioned several times that I was looking to trade in my vehicle but due to the age of it, they didn't seem to want to do any business with it. Then, the manager gave me a completely different price from what I agreed upon and had to have the salesman back me up. Then I was shuffled over to the finance manager, and when I brought up that I was still waiting for my trade in value for the car that I brought in, he seemed very confused. It seemed like the manager forgot to mention what my trade in value was. After that, it left a very bad experience and walked out the door. I'm very disappointed in the service that I received and will be looking at other Subaru dealers to get my business. I have been a customer of Timmons Subaru for roughly 5 years now. Whether it is serving a vehicle, or looking into a new car, the Team here has always been friendly and accommodating to our needs. We have been looking into another car recently and had been shopping around. After some consideration, we decided to return to Timmons Subaru. I stopped in for service recently, and took the opportunity to check out the 2021 models while I was there. I was helped by Edwin Fuentes, who graciously ran through the options, took me around for a test drive, and provided contacts if I was interested further. I returned about a week later, and since Edwin happened to not be working that day, I worked with Gary Colfack to pick up where I left off. Just like Ed, Gary was very personable and had a no pressure approach. Although we had the kids in tow, Gary was very patient, and helpful in answering any questions along the way. Having a family himself, he had a good understanding of what was important to us in the vehicle, and was able to easily relate the features to how we would use them. Another nice thing was that besides working with us on the numbers part of the process, he was very interactive with the kids, which helped keep them occupied throughout. Gary was very knowledgeable about the car, and could effortlessly compare and contrast the features I had on my older Subaru with the one we were looking into. He was prepared all along the way, and even had us covered with a phone charger to borrow when we needed it. Even though we got there kinda late in the day, we never felt pressured or rushed, and at the same time we got answers when we needed them. We finished the financials with Miles, who was just as awesome and friendly as everyone else we worked with along the way. I have frequented the old location down the street many times. It was tight, but they had been making it work as best they could. However on my most recent visit for both service and showroom, I got to experience the new building a couple blocks down the way. The new building was long overdue, and its a nice comfortable layout. I will say that the rooms for the financial team could use some shades for the later part of the day. The sun really heats up that side of the building and is a little bit blinding for the guys as they try to work out the paperwork with customers. We made it work, but I imagine the summer might be more brutal. Bottom line, we have been happy with Timmons Subaru for many years, enough to keep our repeat business for our newest car, and likely years to come. read more

My husband and I switched off test driving (we had the kids with us) and Jeff took the time with both of us to explain everything about the car--buttons and everything. I've always known test driving a car to just see how it drives, I've never gotten explanations as I did this time! I was extremely impressed. Jeff was so patient with our 2 little ones and went above and beyond trying to get us the car we wanted. The one we wanted wasn't in stock and he tried calling other dealers. I have to be honest and say my last encounter with this dealership was not the best but my encounters prior to my last encounter we're good. This encounter though made up for it as I know that nothing in life is perfect! That being said I left Timmons Subaru a few days ago and was very happy with the service I received. I spoke with parts over the phone prior to arriving. They were quick to respond and accurate in the information that they provided me. When I got there I was able to speak with Marvin who was very knowledgeable and generous. Marvin addressed my issue right away and save me a lot of money simply by taking the time to listen and talk with me. I went over to the parks department and worked with both of the gentleman in the parts department and they also were kind, helpful, and prompt. During my prior visit I was given a discount card. I was given a discount card because the last time I got my car serviced there I made an appointment and drop my car off at the agreed-upon time and service was three hours behind in delivery my vehicle to me which of course took up my day and forced me to change plans. I took my 2018 Subaru in for the 36 month service and am very impressed with the customer service provided by Luis Cervantes. I told him I wanted to keep the cost down and only wanted the services required to keep the warranty in effect. He understood and had the necessary services done to keep the car running efficiently. On the computer monitor, he showed me that the wheels were in alignment; there is a new device that scans the car when you drive in to the service area. This is the first time I went to their new facility on Cherry, and the waiting area is very comfortable.
