This little spot is always delicious. We work at the cancer center close by and always need a quick bite. The drive over is quick and convenient. The line moves fast, if there is a line. The parking is sparse, but that's usually not a problem. The Panini style sandwiches are always delicious, no matter what type you get. They serve potato sticks y'all! It is a blast from the past that is also delicious. And a warm chocolate chip cookie. I've also had some of the salads, they are your every day run-of-the-mill iceberg style salads, but their chicken salad is delicious as is the tuna. I love pastrami. I love Swiss. Who would have thought to mash them together with avocado, chipolte mayo and jalapenos??? I had the High Noon and it was effing amazing. I can NOT say enough good stuffins' about this place. Also, they had flavored iced tea. If you are from the South then you expect a great deal from iced tea and Tin Cup delivers. I had a fantastic blueberry iced tea with my meal. Sandwiches come with potato sticks like my mom used to give me instead of chips and a mini cookie. Staff was super friendly. Place is cute enough. It's got a basic diner vibe but with some fun touches. Free wifi for the college kids trying to do homework. And if your kid lives in Campus Edge, which mine does, it's right outside the back door. Great family owned sandwich shop in Arlington. Close to the UTA Campus. When I worked in Arlington I had lunch at Tin Cup quite often. They have a great selection of fresh brewed iced teas and use quality meats on their sandwiches. It had been awhile since i had been here, until a recent Saturday. On the way home from Grandma's house, I told my 6yr old I was taking him "someplace special!" Afterward he told me "We need to come here more often!" He ate every bit of his "Billy the Kid" sandwich, which is a PBJ on white bread. He is still talking about the potato sticks that come with the sandwiches. He loved them! And of course the little chocolate chip cookies were a hit, too. The "Alamo" sandwich is what I had, with a side salad, and it was just as good as I remembered. I LOVE this place. They have the best sandwiches of any sandwich place I've ever been to. I went to school across the street and fell in love. Now that I live in San Francisco, I make a point to come to Tin Cup every single time I come home to Dallas! Even if I don't have a ride, it's worth the $30 Uber ride each way. Yes, I will shell out $60 to get to and from this place for their Doc Holiday sando and nana puddin'. Not even a question!! Beyond the food, the staff is always excellent and Extremely polite. I absolutely love this little cafe! Every time I go there I get the sweet clementine on a croissant. I searched best sandwich shops in Arlington because I was craving a sandwich. This and Dino's came up. I've been to Dino's plenty of times but never been here. So glad I decided to try it out. Got there shortly before closing time and the staff and owner were super friendly. Ordered the John Wayne and it was exactly what I was craving. What more can I say about this place? I am sad that I live in McKinney and am so far away from here. I'm also sad that I only went to this place once when attending UTA. This place serves old school sandwiches that are tasty and well priced. But their main winner is their thanksgiving sandwich during thanksgiving timeframe. Great, quick service. The shoestring like chip fries are a little blase, but not bad, but the little chocolate chip cookie served with our meal was delightful. The ginger peach tea is refreshing and naturally sweet. The real star, though, were the sandwiches (as they should be) . My dining partner had the Veggie sandwich and she enjoyed it, but both of us preferred my Reuben, which was outstanding. Realizing the place was too large for a drink-only menu, they decided to bring in the grub. Brandi comes from a home with six siblings and her husband with ten, so making and inventing sandwiches came naturally to them. "With that many kids in the house, you had to have sandwiches," she said. To the delight of thrifty students, all the sandwiches cost $6.95 with potato chip sticks and a chocolate chip cookie. I love Tin Cup -- I really do, but it confounds me that this particular little sandwich shop is able to extract about ten bucks a person for blueberry iced tea, a panini, potato straws, and the world's tiniest cookie. I'm older than most of the aspiring scholars I encounter during my dining experience at Tin Cup and can part with M. Hamilton a little more easily, I assume. It's a bit of a pain in the ass to get to, the parking lot is cringeworthy, and it's usually got a crowd. I freely admit to driving to Potbelly after viewing the situation from Abram. However, may the deity of your choice bless you if you decide to have lunch there at the noon rush hour. The line grows about twelve deep and tends to stay around there for the duration, and the tiny make area behind the counter can only handle a couple of teenagers and orders at once, with the apron-clad owner surveying his operation from his perch behind the cashier like a hawk. I've waited five minutes, I've waited thirty-five. The food is always delicious and feels worth the wait after staring at my empty wax paper lined basket. Being popular and expensive never hurt any business, I suppose. My last visit I ordered a John Wayne, which came out in about ten minutes in a half-full restaurant. Mind you, this is Boar's Head brand product they use so don't be surprised that you can get twice the sandwich for half the price at Subway. It was hot and satisfying, and the aforementioned blueberry iced tea was a fantastic complement to the flavor of the freshly pressed sandwich. I also ordered a cup of potato soup that was thick and hearty. I'd throw it a fifth star just for consistently fleecing UT Arlington students for ten bucks a pop for a decade or so -- this is an expensive sandwich for me, and my broke college kid days are in the rear view mirror. This ain't show friends, it's show business...and it seems the owners have full pockets. Tin Cup appears to have become a local dining institution in Arlington, so it was on my radar for my brief return to Arlington. It is in a low-key strip between UTA and good ol' Bowen street. This eatery is within a stone's throw of my childhood doctor's office, grocery store, and day care. Total neighborhood nostalgia. The menu is fairly standard, and the prices are not bad, as the meal comes with 2 mini cookies to round out the meal. Also, you can easily mix and match soup, sandwich, and salads for about $7 a pop. The Texan had chicken, chives, tomato, chipotle mayo. It was pretty good, and it liked the doughy bread. It held up to all the filling. The Reuben was equally acceptable. It had a lot of sauerkraut, some pastrami, lots of swiss, and a touch of thousand island. Solid rye bread, to boot. Sadly, the side of potato sticks are not my favorite thing to eat with a good meat and bread. Luckily, I also added a half soup and a half salad. The Winter salad is your standard walnut, cranberry (also blueberries), and raspberry vinaigrette salad. The baked potato soup was not bad. The cookies were soft. This sandwich joint is a solid place to get some grub, and I am sure that college kids enjoy Tin Cup as a nice change to Subway and all that Indian fodder around the campus. Tin Cup is one of the places that got me through UTA and one of the few that's still there. Construction on the north side of campus, rezoning, and UTA purchasing everything they can has put a lot of the businesses on that part of Abram out of business. If the Tin Cup can survive this most recent construction (Abram and the entirety of the south side of the street are both a complete wreck with new university housing construction), then they'll have a new student crowd to keep them open. The menu is simple, mostly sandwiches and salads. Everything is made fresh and they come with potato stick and a small chocolate chip cookie. I usually get a pastrami on rye. Sadly, they either don't have provolone or they're out when I go. Either way, a grilled pastrami and cheese on rye is great. Priced pretty well, each sandwich costs about $6-8. Mostly at $6.95. Nice, quiet atmosphere most of the time with antiques and cheesy wooden signs. The staff is always nice. There's a divider wall making it into two smaller rooms. This is nice so that a larger group doesn't drown out conversation of the other tables and you can choose to go to the other side if it gets a little noisy. There's 3-5 iced tea buckets against the wall. Normally there's an unsweet, a blueberry, and then a couple other teas. Ginger, passion fruit, mango, peach, etc. Bottomless tea lets you try them all out. They're pretty good about being just enough fruit to taste without being overbearing. read more

Great little hole in the wall, mom and pop deli. It really doesn't look like much on the outside but just step in a smell that home made soup and all is well in the world. They lot is pretty small so just park next door at the Yoga place and walk over if the spaces out front are full as it can get packed during lunch. The paninis are great and they are jam packed full of meat and veggies. I love the John Wayne, but they will also make any custom Sammie you want. they Serve those weird little crispy potato strings with all the sandwiches, not my favorite, but its their thing. You also get two mini cookies with the meals, so you cant beat it. The soups are all made from scratch and the Chicken and Dumpling is the best I've ever had. This is the cutest little sandwich cafe in the West! They have a Western Motif, complete with Sandwich names like: California Gold Rush and the Clementine. Everything here is great and the sandwiches come with two little cookies for dessert. I like the Ham Clementine with no caramel sauce - it is apples, cream cheese and ham on whole wheat. it is big enough to share or have leftovers for dinner. They also have flavored iced teas: Blueberry is my favorite but the strawberry is OK, too. The staff is always smiling and laughing, even when they are busy. After doing a search on Yelp for "Cheap lunch", I came across Tin Cup, a sandwich shop not far from the UTA campus. I met up with a few friends and headed over there. Upon entry, I could see that the place was fairly popular. It wasn't packed but there were people in the three seating areas (they have a main dining area when you walk in, then two rooms in the back for additional seating. This was great for my group, because we could talk in the less noisy area). The menu is displayed clearly on the wall above the cash register and if it's your first time, the staff are ready to recommend things to try. I ordered the California Gold, a sandwich that has shredded grilled chicken breast, avocados, tomatoes, lettuce, mozzarella cheese and mayo. It's as good as it sounds, but could use a little bit of boost in the flavor... The sandwiches are served with "potato sticks", which I was hoping were french fries, but were actually potato chip sticks. It was almost like eating the bottom broken pieces of chips at the bottom of a bag of Lays potato chips. I wish they would have had french fries, tho. That would have gone with the sandwich nicely. They also serve a mini cookie with each sandwich. I had a chocolate chip one and my lunch date had a peanut butter one. I liked mine but wished for more. I think the most unique thing about this spot is their wall of flavored teas. They had your standard brewed iced tea but they also had flavored teas like blueberry and the special tea of the day, which was strawberry banana flavored. I tried the blueberry and strawberry banana and they indeed tasted as such. It was a nice surprise. The customer service was fantastic here; as soon as we walked in the door, my boyfriend and I were greeted in a friendly manner. Because we told the cashier that it was our first time, she kindly suggested the popular items on the menu and gave us complimentary cups for tea. The presentation of the food was really cute. The sandwich rests on top of a bed of crunchy potato sticks, and a fresh cookie lies to the side as a tasty dessert. All of the food was fresh (no soggy potato sticks or stale cookies). As for the sandwiches, we ordered John Wayne and The Alamo. They were both delicious, and you can see that the sandwiches were made with care; not slapped around with off-center meat or mayo smeared unevenly. If you're a big fan of teas, Tin Cup has several different teas that are delicious. I suggest for you to try all of them before you leave, because they each have a unique and bold flavor. I ended up sticking with the tea of the day, which was strawberry at the time. Overall, Tin Cup will always be one of my first choices for a fulfilling sandwich.
