I expected this place to be good, but I was still pleasantly surprised by just how good it was. My sandwich was stuffed with flavor (yeah, maybe too much mayo, but I can't hold it against 'em). Potato stix aren't the most complex side, but still a nice novel touch. Mini cookies: perfect for me because I always get a sweet tooth after a nice meal but don't want a full on dessert. The banana pudding looked incredibly tempting, though. Oh, and blueberry tea! I have to say, I thought it was going to be a sweetened artificial mess, but it was nicely and naturally flavored with nary a sucrose crystal in sight (or taste). The woman who took my order was very friendly, welcoming, and laid back. I usually feel uncomfortable dining out, but I really felt at home here. The John Wayne is a nice combo of ham, turkey, pastrami, and cheddar. All of the sandwiches come with fries (rather, potato sticks, since they're really skinny) and a cookie. My friends have been pushing me to try this place since starting school here in Arlington and I can't thank them enough. I can honestly say I wasn't a fan of sandwiches until I stumbled upon tin cup. Their paninis are spot on. I have yet to try every one of them but I'm willing to! The first time I ordered, I got The Alamo with the regular side of potato sticks and a cookie. I love how they add the teeny cookie, it's the cutest thing, haha. But ever since I figured out you could sub your potato sticks for a side salad (for absolutely no charge, holllla), I started getting a caesar salad for a side. Located really close to UTA, this is another local option to try around the area. Arlington doesn't have that many local restaurants compared to the surrounding cities so finding a local place can be challenging. My friend and I came here during lunch time which was somewhat busy still (we came a bit after 1 PM). The service was so friendly, and the place felt very down-to-earth. I had one of their salads while my friend had the Alamo sandwich. Both meals were pretty big so we were stuffed afterwards. The sandwich had a lot of meat with a lot of those skinny fries chips to munch on at the same time. The Tin Cup is one seriously good place to do lunch. Try the John Wayne--this flavor-packed panini is as good as it gets. Served with thin potato sticks and a mini cookie, it's hard to say if a sandwich has ever been so, well, cute. Even their iced tea is nothing short of awesome. From blueberry to peach-mango, their selection changes from day to day so be sure to ask ahead if you're really hankering for a specific flavor of their homemade, fruity concoctions. My only complaint? The one time I deviated from my usual order of the half John Wayne/half Caesar salad, I ordered the Winter Salad, a dish that came highly recommended to me from my equally Tin Cup-besotted coworkers. The lettuce came out way too soggy and the dressing seemed to overwhelm the dried fruit and pecans. However, it happens, and in no way did it deter me from visiting the Tin Cup again. Far from it. My oldest and I recently visited this little sandwich shop while we were in the area. I seriously have to wonder why it was reviewed so highly on yelp. Both my daughter and I tried the Annie Oakley - a chicken salad sandwich on a croissant with a side of "chips" and a cookie. While the consistentcy of the chicken salad was fine, half of our sandwiches were heavily salted. When we bit into the other halves of our sandwiches they were fine. It was kind of like the sandwich maker got heavy-handed with the salt and then tired himself out before seasoning the other half. I tried to wash the sandwich down with blueberry tea, which was weak, but that didn't help. As for the "chips," let's just call them what they were - overly fried hash browns. The best part of the meal was the ridiculously small DRY chocolate chip cookie. Won't be going back any time soon. read more

I got the Alamo panini with the Greek salad on the side instead of the Potato Sticks for an up charge of 50 cents. These sandwiches were AMAZING! I had the ALAMO and my hubs had the WILD BILL, they were both excellent and filling. I have not had shoe string potato chips since I was a kid and while others had down graded them, I was so full from the sandwich that I didn't see the need for more chips. My friend from high school came to The Tin Cup all the time with her family but I've never been here until today. The server was super nice and helpful and the atmosphere here is kinda old fashioned but in a good way, and the food was pretty good too! I really liked my sandwich although I wish there was a little more roast beef in it. I got 1/2 Doc Holiday and 1/2 tomato soup and it was good enough to come here again! My experience was not one of five stars, but I think I can hand out 4. It's really a 3 1/2, but since that's not an option, I'll round up since I'm in a good mood. After finding this place on yelp, I decided to give it a go. I was just about to try the "John Wayne" sandwich when I noticed the "Annie Oakley." Chicken salad is one of my favorites. I got it on a croissant with a bit of horseradish. You must try this with the horseradish. mmmmmm. I wasn't all that fond of the croissant. It tasted of artificial butter flavoring, but it wasn't bad enough to ruin the sandwich. The chicken salad was really pretty good. Next time I'll just get a different kind of bread. I wasn't sure which paninis to choose since everything sounded delicious. The cashier/waitress recommended the Alamo to me since most of the customers order that. I thought it was a little pricey for a place near a university. On the bright side, the food came out quickly and came with the presentation of the panini with potato straws and a tiny cookie on top.
