The drinks and the guacamole were AMAZING and on point. The presentation was also great but definitely not a fan of the prices (for what you get) and their menu. We also put in for a 6pm reservation for the rooftop and they sat us on the patio by the street. We were disappointed because it was so hot so we asked to move inside and they said they were fully booked and had no room but yet many tables were open so then we asked to move to at least a table under the shade on the patio and we were given a hard time about that too. Food was expensive for what it was and honestly the potato taquitos seemed like literally steamed potato fried in a tortilla. Also empeñadas were dry. There were flies all around and we were sweating while eating dinner. Definitely not what we were expecting and not planning on coming back. Presentation does not meet expectation. The place has changed a lot since we first started coming. The menu has changed quit a bit which wouldn't necessarily be an issue if the food quality was still the same. We ordered the goat cheese salad to split, and two different taco dishes. The salad was nothing like we've had previously. Don't go here! Don't waste your time or money at this racist place! Me and two girlfriends decided to dine here yesterday evening. The first Friend arrived, and she asked for a table inside. The hostess told her they only had outside seating because all the indoor seating was taken by reservations. The hostess was a tall lady with gray colored eyes. My friend said outside seating was fine so they sent her outside. She ordered some apps then I arrived and when I arrived, they told me where my friend was seated. I looked around the restaurant and there was about 5 to 8 empty tables and I asked if we could be seated inside and she told me the same thing so I go outside to the patio and sit with my friend later on three white girls sit next to us out on the patio and they were there. Maybe two minutes the waiter came out and they told them if they could be moved inside and they quickly got up and moved them inside. The third Friend arrived shortly after this incident she said that the hostess told her oh are you here with your Hispanic friends and they're outback in the patio? She sat down in the patio area with us when another couple was seated and again they asked to be moved inside and they didn't move them at this point. I was really irritated so I asked the waiter and told them that we were told there was no inside seating because they were all reserved but mentioned how the other two tables were sat down and moved inside immediately when asked the waiter said he would see what he could do. It took them a bit to go back-and-forth and finally they move this inside. I was really disappointed and frustrated as this is the first and last time I will be going to this establishment do not waste your time or money once again when we were moved inside, I looked around and the tables were still empty mind you we were there a good timeframe anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours and the tables were never used! And literally every single person that was dining inside was white the only other Hispanics or the workers and me and my group of friends... Very disappointing. Ambiance was nice. Was greeted with "do you have a reservation" I did not have one and the hipster host acted like it would be a problem. I asked if we could get a table on the upstairs patio and was told you can have a table on the downstairs patio. The service was good but the food was not. We ordered the queso and it was bland. This is a bit of a late post but better late than never! So I ventured over to Tinie's in Fort Worth for eats and drinks Saturday evening with friends. This is a beautiful part of town first off! It's a cute kind of vintage looking pocket/side of town with the cobblestone roads as well as lots of restaurants and shops to explore. We started off by just ordering a bunch of items to share! The tuna tostadas to me were the hit of the night and I would 100 percent order that again. The avocado, jicama and fresh cilantro really gave it incredible flavor. I also tried what I believe was the crispy octopus which also did not disappoint. It would not have been something I would have ordered on my own but I was without a doubt pleasantly surprised. We also had a few other dishes like the grilled mahi mahi and a steak looking taco dish that were good. Everything was just freshly and creatively made and colorful. They have a rooftop upstairs that was pretty full and another cute date night looking area. I was glad we made reservations and I recommend you make them as well if you dine here on the weekends. Visited Tinie's for the first time last Tuesday and I'm glad I did! Met a girlfriend there st 5:30 at what time snagging front row parking was easy. We were also the only customers in the restaurant - it did get busy later. We started with the $7 house margarita which was outstanding. No sweet and sour in this baby but a housemade citrus blend. Yum! I failed to ask if the ritas are always $7 or just with the taco Tuesday limited menu. On Tuesdays the menu has limited starters and street tacos as options. We had the queso to start which was quite tasty. The chips were fried street taco size tortillas. I had a steak and pork taco both were excellent but the steak was my favorite. Tacos are small for the price but quality is high and with the ritas only being $7 I'd do it again! Ask for Andi as she took excellent care of us So good we were there for 3 1/2 hours! read more

Was in Ft Worth for a conference & was looking for TexMex place. When I saw the Tuna & Crispy octopus on the menu I was excited. A large group of us went, the service was good. I was disappointed that they were out of both the tuna & the octopus. I ordered the mahi mahi & ceviche. The ceviche was very raw looking like it wasn't pink like it should be marinated other people didn't want to eat it but I did and I was OK but still a little concerning the mahi-mahi was served with like a raspberry sauce on top of, I think a bed of guacamole. Tinies...the dwarf eatery with Giant Bites...it's been at least 2 years since I have visited this eatery but somehow it seems it is what my family has come to know as our go to place when visiting Funky Town Fort Worth. A prelude this evening was for myself, son and daughter-in love and a perfect one to be clear. Evan was our waiter this early-summer-evening, however I should make mention the host and his graciousness in accommodating our tardiness to our 4:30pm reservation, can the civil engineering in the metroplex make it easier to travel from southeast Dallas to Fort Worth please, as I sense if it were easier I would frequent Tinies more often. Now back to Evan, he was genuine and most willing to please, his timing of checking in on our table and allowing us to eat, converse, catch-up and connect was that of 5 star dining experiences, so BRAVO Evan! The menu...concise and with purpose, boast of small plates curated and guaranteed to excite and satisfy the palate. We started with Queso, Guacamole and Tuna Tostadas, followed by an order of the Potato Taquitos, along with short ribs, a side of tortillas, and ANOTHER ORDER OF TUNA TOSTADAS!!! It seems I could elaborate on the pure fresh use of ingredients but I would need a Thesaurus along with the knowledge of another language to express how "mangnifique" our dinner was. I'm hard pressed to decipher if it was the amazing service or the food, but as this thought leaves my mind I'm convinced it was the perfect balance of both. This was my first time here as this place is fairly new. We made a reservation early Friday afternoon and were seated at the perfect time. Parking is limited as you have to park along side the streets (so come early and prepared). The house Margarita was the BEST I've ever had, along side their fried octopus appetizer. Service was fast and friendly. The interior is very cool (dark & modern with plants and cool lighting) with a super cool balcony over looking the Fort Worth skyline. 10/10 read more

My husband ordered it and I took his. The ceviche was so good. Fresh & the tiger milk was so good, I'd order it as a soup if it was an option. The rotisserie chicken was recommended & it was a great meal. The brine was perfect. Order extra tortillas. Also the roasted carrots were phenomenal. I'm not a huge carrot person but these were so good, I'm craving them as I type. We will be back! This was our favorite Mexican food meal in 27 years. I don't want to get into details because it's not the main focus, but let's just say our experience started out rough due to the hostesses and their very unwelcoming behavior. I was concerned this had set the tone for the evening, but things quickly took a shift for the better once we decided to sit at the bar and were welcomed by two very friendly bartenders. (I see quite a few comments about the hostesses on Yelp, so maybe someone within management should take note and provide some training...?) We were quickly served our cocktails, and everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed them. I think we tried 4 or 5 different drinks, and we all agreed we would re-order them again. For food, we ordered the following: Trio of guacamole - 4/5 - I personally felt the guacamole could use a tad more salt and a bit less lime. It was a little too "zingy" and I love lime! Overall, the group liked this, and some liked 1 or 2 flavors more than the other. The tostadas they serve with it are incredible and so perfectly crispy! We requested another plate and they were happy to grab another for us. I could have eaten the tostadas, guacamole and salsa and been in heaven! I really appreciated that the avocados were still a little chunky and not pureed. I don't know why so many restaurants feel the need to fully mash/puree the avocados. Pulpo (Octopus) - 4.5/5 - We all really enjoyed this, and the octopus was cooked perfectly. It was a nice-sized portion, too, and perfect for sharing (party of 4). Achiote Roasted Pork - 3.5/5 - The pork was served with fresh corn tortillas, plus pickled white onions/carrot, picante beans, salsa verde and salsa roja. The tortillas were a bit too oily, but a quick dab against the napkin and that was fixed. The pork had really great flavor, but we all agreed it could have been a bit more tender. Both salsas were really fresh and bright, and the beans were perfectly cooked. Had the pork been more tender, this would have been a 4 or 4.5. Churro Donuts - 3/5 - Per the recommendation of the bartender, we ordered a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream with the donuts, and honestly that is what saved this dish. We received 6 bite-sized donuts which were perfect for sharing, and they were served with a chocolate fudge sauce, which was incredibly good. The ice cream, as well, was really good and had great flavor, albeit a little icy. The major downfall was the donuts themselves. They were very hard and likely over-fried. We found them difficult to cut in half with our spoons, but the ice cream helped to soften them and make them more palatable. I'm curious if 3 larger donuts would have been better, as the flavor was OK but texture was disappointedly hard. The overall flavor is what earned the stars. Overall, we had a great time, the food was on track to be perfect, and the waiters were approachable, accommodating, and provided great service. Due to some misses, I honestly would have rated the overall experience a 3.5/5 if I could, but pushed it to 4 due to the integrity of the ingredients and the two bartenders' service. We don't live in Ft Worth and therefore likely won't return, but if this was in Dallas I would definitely give it a 2nd try. read more

I have struggled to write this review for a few days, but here it is. In reality, this is a review of a fantastic local restaurant in a wonderful, emerging part of town, with a chef-driven menu and fantastic cocktails. But it is also the tale of poor management in a fragile time. In short, this was my wife and I's first time to eat out in 120 days, since the pandemic began. We were hesitant but knew Tinnie's had an upstairs, outdoor patio, a place we thought would be safe. We went and got there right when they opened at 5 pm and took a spot in a corner away from any other table. However, that is when it all started to go downhill. Our server wasn't wearing a mask and continually stood too close to us, or too close for our comfort. And on top of that, we had no less than 6 various people come to our table dropping food, checking on things, asking for more drinks, etc. The service in that regard was great, but none of them were wearing masks. While you could simply say "you are being paranoid", I am also concerned about the well being of a class of workers who have no health insurance and are exposed to dozens of people every day. Masks are as much for their safety as service workers as they are mine, a full-time employed person in corporate America with benefits. As we left dinner ~6:15 we walked downstairs and through a restaurant that was chock-full; good for them and their revenue, but alarming for us as we walked through a crowded restaurant, air conditioning blaring, and bustling with people breathing. While the pork tacos were fantastic, the guac trio was amazing topped off with wonderful homemade full-size tortilla chips, the experience of eating in a restaurant with zero regards for perceived safety has pushed my wife and me into a few more months of takeout only, eating at home, and avoiding dining at restaurants. So while Tinnie's was great, they just ruined they just set back the entire restaurant industry for the two of us for a few more months. This might be unfair of me to say, but it is the truth in our 4 eyes. read more

I had come here for an event (where we had great service), but then came again just to have brunch. They have a great tequila selection for the area and the food Is phenomenal. Everything is fresh, and nothing seems very heavy. Their carrots are to die for, and their salad.... I don't know what they put in it, but I could eat that every day. I've been to this restaurant once before for happy hour on the patio so I decided to come back and have dinner again on the patio ! we made a reservation by calling ahead that day. Sitting on the patio during Texas summers I figured it would be cool enough during a 7:30 reservation. It really wasn't that bad however I do wish they did have fans like most restaurants do to beat the heat !! We started with the queso which was one of the most bland quesos I've ever had. We also got the octopus which was delicious. For my meal I got empanadas these tasted okay but definitely not worth the price. The green salsa they serve with it had no flavor which is surprising for a Mexican restaurant. We got tacos which said it was a bit spicy. We asked the waiter he said it really was not that spicy at all however when it came out it was extremely extremely spicy. We were really bummed because we had asked and the fact that it was really spicy was just not what was said to Us. Overall, this place has great margaritas however coming back for a second time I don't think I will return. unfortunately the food just isn't up to par and there's much better Mexican restaurants out there. read more

If you want rice or chips and salsa go somewhere else If you like goat tacos, queso and Tostadas, then give this place a try. The octopus was really good and the aguachile was horrible. Very cute atmosphere so will go back for drinks only but seriously had nothing spicy to offer me except something that resembled tomato paste and looked like it would go on spaghetti. However, if you offer the bar or patio seating you should still expect service. Once our food arrived I don't feel our waiter thought about us again. He did bring us ice well after we had asked for it but we never got any water or the waiter checking on us after that. I had to go in to ask for to go boxes and also see about getting cashed out. The wait for the boxes was so long I was on my way back in again to try to cash out on my own w/the bartender. Saw the waiter deliver food before checking us out. Got several apologies from the waiter but it was followed w/"I've been really busy." Well, you were only busy inside because we didn't see much of you. If we had had better service I would have given more stars. Might go back sometime but service keeps it from being a top priority on our rotation. read more
