two scoops of ice cream (but i took a bite already)

Sad to say that I do not agree with the overwhelmingly positive reviews on this place. It's a fun concept - beautiful and spacious interior and a palace for sweet carnival treat lovers. Also cheap prices! So what's NOT to love? First and foremost, walking in gave us a huge whiff of a high school locker room smell. I couldn't really figure out why it was stuffy and smelly, but it definitely was not the food being prepared. Please consider having a better air ventilation system or just simply keep the door and windows open. Second, there were items on the menu(s) that were actually not being sold. They were not sold out - just simply not sold. So why not update the menu? Third and honestly unforgivable reason is the images I attached here. That's one scoop and two scoops of ice cream. Very cheap prices! But WHAT is THAT? A spoon of Great Value vanilla ice cream in a... to-go condiment/sauce cup??? Also, asked this to-go and they put in a large plastic bag lol. What exactly am I holding? This entire concept is so fun and exciting, but barely anything even met the slightest expectations of a "carnival themed" shop. The entire execution is comparable to a kid setting up a lemonade stand in front of their yard, and even that is a generous comparison.

Finally got to try this place. They're open Wednesday through Sunday. It's pretty spacious inside and I love the oversized games. The woman up front was very friendly. We ordered the deep fried s'mores, blue raspberry shaved ice, mini churros, and funnel cake. Ordering and waiting for the food took longer than expected. I was also very surprised by how small the deep fried s'mores were. Presentation looked great, but most of it tasted like it had been frozen. None of it tasted fresh. But honestly, the spot is fun and you have to at least give them a visit.

Why wait for the fair to come to town when you can have fair food all year round. Delicious deep fried twinkies! Highly recommend.

Tiny's Carnival Sweets & Treats sells snacks and beverages typically sold at the circus or county fair. My favorite item on their menu is obviously the funnel cakes! I usually have to wait for special events or festivals with dessert vendors to come to SJ, or travel to Santa Cruz or SF to get my fix of this sweet treat. And most places aren't open late. So I'm glad to have discovered Tiny's Carnival in downtown SJ who just had their grand opening this past weekend. Not only do they serve funnel cakes here, but they are GOOD funnel cakes, made just like what you'd get at an actual carnival, possibly even better. I ordered mine with strawberry and chocolate drizzle for $8. It came with whipped cream on top and strawberry slices. It was tasty and sweet, but not too sweet. Just right. It was also freshly made, with delicious fried dough, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The setting was clean and bright, with playful and colorful artwork on the walls and ample seating, as well as a small bar with TV's. Service was friendly, and wait time was minimal. Note, they only accept cash, Zelle, or Apple Pay (no credit card payments as of Feb 2026). That's a bit inconvenient for me, but I was pleased with my overall experience nonetheless.

My coworker recommended this place as we all worked fairly close to this location. I had never tried a fried Oreo before and was eager to try after hearing how good they were. They have maybe 3-4 different options of Oreos but I decided on the regular one since it was my first time. It was so so good and now I can't wait to try all the other flavors. My biggest worry with fried food is the oil being old or tasting burnt but this was far from that and can tell by color as well. We also tried the lemonade and corn which was so good. I look forward to trying the different options of food/drinks they have here. The manager was extremely sweet and food didn't take very long. Go support this new business!

    Churro-mania funnel cake. 10/10!!

I noticed this spot driving by after my flight. I said to my boyfriend, "Funnel cake sounds good.." We gave each other a look and decided to try it out. It was a Friday night and there was a celebration for the soccer match so the streets were quite busy. We walked in around 11:00pm, not many customers despite how lively it was. I absolutely love the interior and wish I took a better picture. The artist was committed to replicating the feeling of being at a fair. Absolutely loved the theme inside. We ordered the churro-mania funnel cake assuming it would just be a basic cinnamon sugar. It took about 7-10 minutes and GOT DANG it did NOT disappoint! The presentation was fantastic, (my photo does not do it justice, should have locked in) it had vanilla cinnamon ice cream, whipped cream, a drizzle of caramel and a small churro to top it off. Wow, it was cooked PERFECTLY! I was so impressed and the ladies working tonight were so kind. This place needs way more customers, if I'm in the area again I'll definitely be coming back. State fair whomst?! Wonderful job ladies ^_^

All the fresh squeezed lemons. Perfectly balanced in taste. So refreshing.

This spot brings carnival-style food to downtown San Jose in a way that feels relaxed and family-oriented. The menu covers a lot--churros, loaded potatoes, Cajun corn, corn dogs, funnel cakes, shaved ice, chicken wings, cotton candy, and fried Oreos--but it's also a place where you can actually sit and stay awhile. I tried the buttery popcorn and the fresh-squeezed lemonade. The lemonade stood out immediately-- it's made with loads of real lemons, and they don't overdo the sugar. I love lemonade but don't get it at too many places because it's overly sweet. Will definitely be back for this! It's balanced, refreshing, and honestly better than most lemonade you'll find around. There's a small outdoor patio that works well for families, plus a TV in the back, which makes it feel more like a hangout than a grab-and-go spot. It's warm, welcoming, and easygoing--somewhere you can spend an afternoon or evening without feeling rushed. They're open until 10pm, which is a nice bonus.

The five stars is for the ferris wheel painted on the side wall. Now that the carousel is gone from across the SAP Center, the only place outside of Christmas to see an an amusement park ride inside downtown might be on this wall. The closest coin operated horse machine might be at Story and King. The popcorn came closest to soaring towards the lower third of the tub. Out of the three places downtown that have machine made popcorn, Tiny's is the best place to bring the kids. The big screen TV's in there and the seating arrangements would make it a great place to have video game parties and tournaments in there, where you can get loud and boisterous without upsetting the neighbors, and not worry about kids spreading popcorn, soda and dripping ice cream all over the house. Take the Winchester or Santa Teresa lightrails to the St James Park stop. And it's a 5 minute walk from there.

The mini banana split funnel cake was amazing! I could eat it everyday. The churro was ok a bit dry. The lemonade was delicious. Took a bit of time for the food to come out but it was worth the wait!

A brand new snack and sweets spot in town specializing in carnival style treats, where adults can feel like kids again and the whole family can have a blast! I stopped by on opening day, and what a gem hiding in plain sight. You truly can't miss it, and stepping inside instantly brought back the best childhood memories. I sampled nearly everything on the menu, and every single item was a delicious, fresh made to order treat. For a drink, I chose the twisted kiwi lemonade, which was freshly squeezed right in front of me, so refreshing and flavorful! The staff is incredibly friendly, and the space itself is beautiful and spacious with plenty of seating. This place is destined to become a local favorite. Highly recommend checking it out!

We kinda went ham with our choices. We ordered corn dogs, fries, chicken wings, lemonade and deep fried Twinkie's ! The food and service was great I love the vibe ‍would recommend. Just wish the location was not in downtown

    Large Watermelon lemonade

Tiny's Carnival Sweets & Treats is hands down one of my favorite spots in San Jose right now. I've gone 3 days in a row and every single time the service has been amazing!! Everyone is so welcoming and friendly plus they play 2000s R&B and Hiphop which I loved!! Vibin and eating bomb snacks what more can you ask for?! The lemonade is refreshing, the deep fried Oreos are perfect, and the funnel cakes are LOADED with toppings. The Cajun corn is insanely flavorful (seriously, they need to make crispy fried shrimp with that Cajun sauce ASAP). The asada loaded potato was buttery, filling, and so good. And the deep fried s'more with ice cream? 10/10. Not too sweet, just perfect. Also tried the cherry shaved ice and it was the perfect sweet + tart combo. Everything I've had has been a hit. Can't wait to try the chicken and waffles and corn dog next. Amazing food, amazing service, and definitely worth coming back again and again.

Wow look at this funnel cake, strawberries and caramel with two scoops of ice cream

Thank you for answering my questions, being patient, and being such a positive vibe as a whole. 4 stars overall because there were a few questionable bins containing candies that should immediate go into the trash. The produce section was not as extensive as those at other Asian markets, but it was still adequate. However, the store carried many unique candies and snacks that I have not seen elsewhere. Notably, sakura flavored products were especially common during my visit. There were two large sections dedicated to premade meals, including rice bowls, hand rolls, onigiri, and sushi. The rolls seemed overly heavy on the rice, with relatively little fish filling. The prices also felt somewhat high for the portion sizes. However, the store offers a 20 percent discount on sushi and bento boxes daily after 6 PM. I ordered the nigiri combination, which included salmon, tuna, and scallop. The scallop was plump, and the tuna was sliced thickly. The salmon was slightly thin but still rich and fatty. Overall, the fish quality was good. The sushi rice was above average, with a distinct vinegar flavor despite being refrigerated. The total cost for the eight pieces was close to restaurant pricing, though the convenience factor partly justified it. I would rate this market a 3.5 out of 5 but rounded up for the good sushi rice. I would recommend shopping elsewhere for produce, but this is a good place for snacks and premade meals, especially after 6 PM.
