Don't remember the last time I came to one of these store but found myself here needing some urgent shorts. The store is actually not too badly kept up with, it was fairly clean and things seem to be in their place. The store is located in a large shopping center so parking is not an issue either. The prices vary, some things still being sold too high and some are low but very old ( as in no longer in style). I didn't find what I was looking for but it wasn't too bad of an experience. Plenty of cashiers to help you out but I think they lacked people on the floor. read more

I believe I must have been 8 or 10 the last time I was in a TJ Maxx. I went to TJ Maxx today to look for some kitchen stuff, but failed. They just didn't have what I was looking for. I did notice that TJ Maxx seems a step up neater/cooler than a Ross Dress for Less. As I perused through the aisles, I came across the perfume section. Could they? Would they have Escada's Limited Edition of Marine Groove, which I have been eyeing for quite some time now. They sure did!!!! Just ONE left with my name on it! And it was $27 cheaper! What a deal! It's taken me a few days to get over this anger!!! I go into TJMaxx Homegoods to buy something new for the house before the new year hits as I do every year. I picked out two sets of CA King sheets. Same Kathy Ireland brand, same size, same 6 piece set. Only difference was color. One was grey one was white. The grey set was thrown in the plastic holding the sheets and the white was still in the original packaging. But the grey set (obviously a return) was priced higher? Huh? I take both to the register and instead of telling me she can't change the price, doesn't know how or whatever. Instead she says the price is different due to the dye. WTF? Ok, then why are the yellow ones cheaper? Crickets!!!! Be aware when shopping! read more

The workers did not great anyone in the store, were quick to kick everyone out. The the guy working was very rude. I managed to leave my seeing glasses behind while trying on a sweater. I called five minutes after leaving the store and they refused to open the door and give the glasses to me. I understand if the store has certain policies but I do not understand the poor, lack of people skills. The girl who answered the phone refused to check the floor for my glasses in the first place I explained that I was standing right outside and could show her where I left them without coming in and still put up a fight. The employees came off as careless and wanting to go home. If you want to go to the store where employees don't give a shit about the customers this is the store for you. Good selection in athletic wear, menswear, and accessories/ beauty aids/ fragrances. That being said, some of the salespeople are lacking in customer service skills. I was asking a gentleman in line behind me if the dress shirt I had selected for my husband would fit him (they had a similar build), when a salesperson butted into the conversation and spoke to me like I was stupid. Upon noticing that she had offended me, she continued to speak to me so condescendingly that I left the store without buying anything. My girlfriend and I came by TJ Maxx and loaded up on brand new Toys to donate to the Spark of Love Toy Drive and donated them to a local Fire Station. We had given ourselves a budget of $100.00 to purchase as many toys as we could carry to the register and ended up accomplishing that task for only $55.00. We picked up a nerf Spider Man baseball bat & baseball, a nerf Disney Princess baseball bat & baseball, remote control cars, race cars, art supplies, clay making kits, figurines and several other items. I hope we were able to make someone's Christmas morning a little better. Visited TJ Maxx in Culver City on Sunday. My girlfriend swears they have the best deals on purses but what do I know? I am just a guy. So while my Maxxinista was doing her thing I started wandering through the Home Goods section. I found something I have been searching long and hard for -- garment bags! You are probably thinking: "Welcome to the 21st Century Joe, get some space bags already!" However, I have some space bags already. I prefer garment bags because you can put clothes on hangers inside the garment bag while it is zipped up! This is great because I can keep my suits and coats looking good while keeping them handy. In addition, the bags protect clothes from bugs and dust. The suit bags were $4.99 each and the coat bags were $5.99 each. They also have blanket bags for $6.99 each. read more

I am rating this T J Maxx store in relation to all the other TJ Maxx stores at which I have shopped in NY, LA, the Bay Area (San Fran), Dallas/Ft. Worth and Reno. This is a pretty good T J Maxx, as far as selection goes, but the store has always been a disaster each time I have shopped here. Again, I find a lot of things at this particular store that I find at other T J Maxx stores in LA, but I really don't like shopping here. It feels dirty and very low class to me, which is something I don't usually feel when I shop at other T J Maxx stores. If you are near this location I would recommend shopping at their much cleaner and better organized Home Goods Store in Westchester at 8621 South Sepulveda Blvd just before you get to LAX. It is WAY better than this T J Maxx. It is less than 5 minutes drive from this store in the Trader Joe's shopping center. read more

Been here a couple times. This store is a little smaller then other TJ Max I've been too. They alway have really nice brand name watches for women. However for me costumer service hasn't been that great. Older lady who charge me last night didn't even say Hi or gave me my total..she was rude for no reason. Anyway I didn't say nothing because she was an older lady and I was thought to respect my elders. I also had to return a watch and the older men who help me didn't even tell me how many days it would take for the store to return the money to my card or offered me to see any other watches. I come to this location a lot to find cute work tops. I can't purchase pants because I'm 5'7.5 & most of their pants are for shorter women. I came yesterday to see if I could find a cute purse & work shirts. I found a few shirts but no purse. Most of the purses seemed to be for middle aged women and older (no offense). I did find a cute Michael Khors dress for $66. It seemed as if most items were thrown all over the place, I didn't get an organized, well managed vibe from this location. Lots of flowing shirts for summer. Dress selection and jeans selection is awful. Why doesnt TJ Maxx carry more bathing suits? Overall 3/5. Staff: Very nice and helpful. I like TJ Maxx for the ease in shopping and the selection they have for men's wear. My girlfriend brings me here at least twice a month, and I of course go along as her chaffeur. However, when I'm inside, I always find a cool shirt or pair of shorts or jeans for a fraction of what I'd pay in the department store. Returns are hassle free too, so if things don't fit just so, I can bring it back. Love the furniture here too. I mention it every time but nothing ever happens. 10 people waiting in line and from the 3 registers that started, it went down to 1 at some point. 10 minutes wait time - it could be fixed so easily. I've gone to this TJ Maxx three times and all three times there have been one person at the register with up to 3+ people in line. The first time I waited because I really wanted to make my purchase. The person ahead of me kept asking the woman at the register to get another person up there but it never happened. Tried to return an item that was marked a different price than another one on the shelf-it was broken. HECTOR H., the store manager would not give me the original price I paid. Not once did he apologize for the inconvenience and loss of gas having to return the item-instead gave me a class in how TJ MAxx purchases items. I spent 60 dollars on my original trip-so it isn't like I'm a nickel and dimer-rude. At least apologize for the mistake of putting out a broken item for sale (not marked clearance like a normal broken item usually is) and cut me a break for the spent gas and time! Yesterday June 17 2020, my daughters and me went to this location 6:30pm. Whe we arrive there no line the lady name Angela, came to us and told us we are not letting more people to come in read the paper we are stopping the line at 630pm it will be tomorrow. We walk back to the car, when I pulled out my car I pass by the store guess what there was a line of 4 people I stayed there for a few minutes it was 640pm, I stop out my car and ask what was the line for there there respond was to go in the store, I was surprised I ask the lady Angela why she refuse to let's go in and kick us out the store I feel she was rude discriminate us because we are hispanic and the people who was making line where white, that not nice at all. I called and talk to the Manager on duty Edgar didn't do nothing, it seems he dosent have any authority didn't care, it looks his afraid to talk to the staff, if they have a policy it okay but it have to effective with every human, latino, afro American, white red or blue every life, color matter. Then finally they let us go in, 7:00pm, as soon us we got in we hear store is closing, you need to bring your stuff to the register, they turn off the light I almost trip because it was dark in the back that's not nice. DO NOT ORDER ONLINE!!!! I was excited to learn that I could order TJ Maxx's merchandise online, so I ordered a number of items, but some things did not fit. So last Friday, (5/4/18), around 9:15 PM, I went to the Culver City store to return those items, and two different employees (incl. the assistant manager) told me they COULD NOT accept two "Theory" blouses because they did not have a DEPARTMENT 7. They told me I had to drive to their Santa Monica or Beverly Connection stores. I explained that I didn't know what a DEPARTMENT 7 was, and because I worked LONG HOURS, if would be difficult for me to go to those stores. The manager told me I could return them via mail. I told him the ONLY reason I ordered online was because the WEBSITE states I could return items at my LOCAL STORE. My questions are..... * Why can't TJ MAXX return the items to Santa Monica or Beverly Connection? * Why isn't this explicitly stated on their website? * Why should I have to pay postage fees to return items (via mail), when the website states I can return to my LOCAL STORE? Although the assistant manager was apologetic, he DID NOT accept those items. It was too late to drive to the other locations, and left TJ Maxx BEYOND FRUSTRATED, and what's worse........I still have not had an opportunity to return those items yet! read more

If you go when the new stuff arrives, then you might end up leaving with more than you anticipated....buyers remorse haha! Every time, I shop here...it seems clean and staff are friendly. You might get an occasional shopper walk up to you with 4 different colors of the same handbag and ask for your opinion...like me but I don't mind helping other fellow consumers. Just don't approach me all the time or I will start charging. The only disappointing thing about these stores is I have small feet and I cannot find a pretty shoe for my small feet boo! Wth happened to customer service? The clerks at this place have a dmv disposition. The attitudes are very flat and they are far from bubbly and cordial. This place is like every other discount store,clothes and electronics scattered across the floor,etcetera. i love going into stores like this that lack any type of organization. the lady in the back that hands you a clothes number was having the most difficult time. there was a spill on aisle 22 in the store. what can you spill in a clothing store? i'm not sure but i got a great pair of timberland size 13 for $33 AND 3 plain white beverly hills polo club t-shirts for $1.99 each in the clearance section. if you like really colorful ugly shirts this is a good place to start. read more

I live very close to this particular TJ Maxx, so I go there all the time although I hate myself for this addiction. The service there is the worst you could get, always big line to the cash register, nobody available at the jewelry section and you will always get an attitude from a clerk asking for help in anything. The fitting room is usually closed more then an hour before the store closes and they try to kick you out like 30 min. before they close anyway. If you ever go there, make sure you remember, that finding what you need is not going to be as big of a challenge as actually purchasing it :) read more

So gross! They have an employee walking around loudly yelling "no one should come near her bc she's so sick, " and "that multiple people called out and everyone is sick." I spoke to the manager (Edgar) about it- he denied knowing she was sick (he could hear her complaining). Unfortunately I come to this TJ Maxx a lot bc of the convenience. Despite the new renovation taking place & a little more organization and wider aisles, I STILL don't understand the Returns line. There will be 5 cashiers taking taking Sales customers and 1 Returns cashier. Even though there's nobody on line to pay, they refuse to help move the line in Returns. I had a very positive experience at TJMAXX recently. I came in to return an item and I meet a nice associate named Kim. She was super helpful and pleasant. Her customer service was on point and she was very knowledgeable about the store inventory. I'm not sure if she is a manager. If she isn't, she certainly should be. I love TJ Maxx but this one is awful!!! I got there first thing in the morning last Saturday and found the store to be unusually messy and unorganized. The children's clothing section was not sized and the clearance stuff was not on the clearance racks and vice-versa. I've been to many others that are well organized. Why does TJ Maxx have 10 changing rooms for women, and only one changing room for men? Last I checked, our money is green too. It is completely unfair and some might say reverse discrimination against men to have to wait 20 minutes to try on clothes, while women have open changing rooms. To add to this, the lady who oversaw the changing rooms was completely nasty and unapologetic for the situation that management has created. After speaking to a store manager, a nice young man, he explained to me most TJ Maxx stores are set up this way. I understand women utilize the changing rooms more than men, but there should be a system in place that can adjust to demand, so as not to significantly inconvenience one gender for the sake of another. #Mentoo read more
