I've basically tried the whole menu at this point and everything has been amazing. The mango matcha is SO good, and all their lattes are great too. Their pastries can sell out by late afternoon FYI, so come earlier if you want more options. I love both their sweet and savory ones, but the cardamom pastry is my favorite. For savory, the sun-dried tomato pesto and potato chili are my go-tos. There's plenty of parking in both the front and back, plus a bathroom in the back. Tons of indoor seating and a few outdoor tables, although you're lucky if you snag one because this place is popular! This is my go-to spot and all my friends love it too. So yes, I'm here at least once a week and I'm not ashamed to admit it lol.

Situated with small tables as well as bench tops, during my weekend excursion, there was never a time that it was completely packed so you're bound to find a spot to camp. Outlets are also available from certain spots. Ordering is simple which can be done at the register or online. The menu is quite extensive with all things coffee but consider checking their online menus as I found items like their double cappuccino that wasn't advertised on their physical menus. If you do order through their mobile app, you'll automatically get reward points toward free drinks or food. Speaking of special offers, they also offer birthday goodies so when it's that time of the year, you're in for a treat! I did end up getting the double cappuccino and it was delicious and came out hot with just enough foam to add volume to each sip. If I weren't traveling with so much stuff, I would have considered getting their bags of beans to brew at home. Fortunately, they do offer a subscription and delivery through their website so for those like me looking for a taste from afar, you're in luck! From dark to light roasts, you'll have quite a few options with the notes you desire. The staff were friendly and helpful despite constantly at full capacity. Drinks kept churning out with the same consistent quality and hospitality. Overall, Bird Rock is a local roaster you'll want to check out as their growing operations is a clear result of their consistent product quality, accessibility through its many locations and ordering methods, and excellent service. This location in particular is just blocks away from the huge playground and park next to mission bay, albeit you're better off driving. I was much too full to grab food this around but it may be worth a try to go with the coffee next time. Whether you're a local or just visiting, consider making a trip out and roost on this rock for a while!

I've been to doughnut shops all over San Diego and my family used to own the greatest doughnut shop (I used to crave them every morning before I got to work). Let me tell you, TK doughnuts are the only ones who rival my family's doughnuts. You won't be able to find crispy doughnuts anywhere else but here, not sure how it is even possible. I've tried all their doughnuts and they're all delicious. I almost gave up looking for good doughnut places, but glad I gave this one a try before I did. Yes, this place looks a little outdated, but who cares! The food and service makes up for it. They do also have bagels available if you decide to order for your office. Not a big selection, but it's there and only for $1.50! They always run out before 2pm - the only bad side. read more

I bring grandchildren here in the morning before school and they absolutely love this place. Great service by the owner and his family the breakfast sandwiches are delicious. The donuts are always fresh as is the coffee. The owner goes out of his way to sometimes throw in some free donut holes.
