This may be the best donut I've ever had. So fluffy and melt in your mouth soft and delicious. No notes.

A great local place for donuts and Vietnamese iced coffee. Wide selection of cake, yeast, glazed, and seasonal donuts. Donuts were fresh, coffee was excellent. Quick and efficient service.

Old-fashioned, strawberry/cream cheese, blueberry, cronut, donut holes.

Wow these donuts really blew me away I showed up on a Saturday morning before 8am and tried the blueberry glazed (thanks to those for mentioning in the reviews!!), strawberry/cream cheese, a cinnamon crumble cronut recommended by the employee, and the classic old-fashioned. I liked them each for different reasons, though maybe the blueberry the most. And they threw in a couple complimentary donut holes, possibly bc it was my first visit. Everyone was so fresh, obviously sweet but not over slathered like I've had at other donut shops. Definitely recommend for a morning indulgence. Extra charge for credit card, if I recall correctly, 45 cents.

TK Donuts is easily one of my favorite spots -- I stop by at least twice a week! The donuts are always fresh, soft, and full of flavor, with a wide variety ranging from classic favorites to artistic, eye-catching creations that taste as good as they look. What really makes TK Donuts stand out is the perfect mix of quality and affordability. You get beautifully made, bakery-quality treats at prices that are hard to beat. The staff is always friendly and quick, making every visit smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Best donuts in San Diego! There, I said it. The blueberry yeast donut is worth a flight out here! They usually sell out of the blueberry donuts by early morning, but don't fret all of their donuts are special, my husband gets the maple bar every time, so so delicious!

The staff were definitely nice! They were steady busy! There was always 2-3 customers in the store the entire time, foot traffic for sure! We came back 2 days in a row for her #1 (egg, ham and cheese croissant). Decent size for the price!

They also do bagels and bfast sandwiches which are tasty. This is our go to spot for a great bfast treat. The staff is always so kind and friendly.

$30 for a dozen donuts. Small donuts nothing special. I grew up as a kid eating here. Sad but the donuts were just ok.

Avian is a unique spot tucked inside a shopping plaza with super easy parking. It's a purified water shop, but they also have Vietnamese bánh mìs, desserts, boba, smoothies, snacks, candies, chips, and even a lotto machine that everyone seemed obsessed with. They even display how much people have won in store! For drinks, we got 2 Vietnamese coffees and a sugar cane drink. The coffees were strong, bold, and exactly you would expect. The sugar cane drink was super fresh and refreshing, especially for a hot pool day. Now the bánh mìs... SO good. I think it's a nice touch that they ask if you want jalapeños or not because they know it's spicy. It looks like they scoop out some of the bread and then load it up with the fillings. Portions felt generous and honestly perfect for our little pool picnic! Definitely coming back!

The bread is fresh and crispy on the outside while still soft on the inside, and the fillings are flavorful and well balanced. The owner is friendly, welcoming, and very attentive to customers, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. I ordered six sandwiches ,three special bánh mì, two grilled pork bánh mì, and one meatball bánh mì, so it took a little while for everything to be prepared. However, the wait was understandable since they were made fresh to order. If you're in a hurry, you can call ahead to place your order and avoid waiting too long. The shop itself is small but clean and well organized. Overall, it's a great spot for a tasty and satisfying bánh mì.

That's not to say it's bad, I think all sandwiches places should be as good as this was, but it just wasn't special enough to get four stars in my opinion. You have all the staples and classic. Your roast beef's. Your turkeys. Your ham. They also serve breakfast sandwiches which looked super good. There's also a handful for interesting combos which caught my eye. I went with the Pho'wich which has slow cooked roast beef, fresh basil, tomato, onion, cucumbers, house pickled jalapeño, hoisin mayo, on a buttered garlic roll. I cut it in half, added some chips and a pickle. It came out to just about 20 bucks. I was one of three people in there on a Sunday around 1pm and from order to my mouth was no more than 7 minutes. The jalapeño wasn't spicy nor didn't taste very pickled. The hoisin sauce i thought would smack, but sadly it didn't. I love hoisin but thought it made the sub subpar. It fell a little flat from my expectations but the roast beef was tender and the bread was garlicky which added depth to it. I would come back to try the others but I don't think I'll come back anytime soon. The inside was cute and fun stuff on the walls that captured my attention. Service was nice. Can seat maybe 30 inside and another 10 or so outside where I sat with my dog.

The #1 sandwich provides a "variety" of cold cuts, whatever that means. The bread was soft and pillowy and the veggies were nice and fresh. It is a good sandwich but wasn't incredibly meaty, The #11 grilled chicken was a flavor bomb and seemed meatier than the #1. I loved it. They offer lots of fresh baked goods, pastries, and bread in the back. Everything looked very nice. You serve yourself and then bring your selections up to the front counter. I could easily have picked ten or more items that looked great. A proper banh mi requires excellent, ultra fresh bread and you get that here. Free parking in the lot but watch out. I heard they're going to start serving beer and wine soon as well! *Best 1st-timer options*: The Keeper (if you like it spicy) or the L.G.B.T. My favorite hot sandwiches are the Cali Cubano, B3, and The Keeper, while my favorite cold sandwiches are the Avocado Highway, L.G.B.T. (lettuce, gouda, bacon, tomato), and Caprese. My favorite salads are the Grapevine and Duck Cranberry. For sides I recommend the potato salad and tomato basil bisque. The aioli they use is to die for -- can't hurt to get a side of it with any sandwich! The restaurant is situated on the corner of Park Blvd. and Polk Ave. (more generally, it's on the strip of Park Blvd. between University Ave. and El Cajon Blvd.). There is usually a good amount of parking on Park Blvd. and Polk Ave., which is nice. The space has a simple-yet-tasteful modern design and interior, is always clean, with friendly and helpful staff. Great for lunch hour or a weekend date. Update: Came back today with my friend and we ordered the B3 and the Turkey & Cheddar Mousse sandwiches, plus sides of potato salad and cucumber salad, and a double chocolate cookie with pistachio and sea salt. Everything was really good, but the Turkey & Cheddar Mousse sandwich was the star of the show. The cookie was great too. On the first visit, Zack provided exceptional care and attention while helping navigate food allergies. Zack took the time to carefully check ingredients, double-check preparations, and personally come back out to verify everything to ensure safety. That level of care made the experience feel genuinely welcoming and stress-free. The chicken sandwich was fresh, satisfying, and thoughtfully balanced. Juicy chicken, ripe tomatoes, creamy avocado, and a bright splash of oil and vinegar came together beautifully on Big Front Door's roll, which had a great texture and held everything together well. The flavors were clean and vibrant. A little extra salt would have pushed it over the top for a salt-lover, but that came down to personal preference rather than any shortcoming. A dining companion ordered the avocado sandwich and could not stop raving about it, praising both the flavor and the freshness. The outdoor seating area deserves special mention. The shaded space was perfect as I do have sun allergies, especially for anyone who prefers relief from direct sun. The care taken in food preparation added an extra layer of comfort and trust. The second visit somehow raised the bar even higher. Micah went above and beyond to accommodate physical ability needs with patience, attentiveness, and genuine kindness. That effort did not go unnoticed and made the experience feel deeply respectful and inclusive. The roasted chicken sandwich ordered on the second visit was phenomenal. The roasted chicken was tender, savory, and full of depth, elevating the sandwich even further. Adding a bit of extra salt brought all the ingredients into perfect harmony, making every bite more satisfying than the last. This sandwich has officially earned a spot as a new favorite sandwich. Big Front Door was amazing not just for delicious, thoughtfully prepared food, but for the people who work there. Zack and Micah created an environment where care, kindness, and respect were clearly prioritized. No moment felt rushed, dismissive, or uncomfortable. At no point did anyone make the experience feel like a burden or inconvenience. A sincere thank-you also goes to the team members who prepared the food. Even without knowing names, the care taken to keep guests safer while serving delicious nourishment was evident and deeply appreciated. Big Front Door comes highly recommended for the flavorful sandwiches, the shaded outdoor space, the welcoming atmosphere, outstanding customer service, and the genuine kindness shown at every action.
