Visited Toast Cafe in Carmel Valley today (not to be confused with Toasted Del Mar). Toast Cafe is situated among office buildings, located on ground floor with indoor and outdoor seating spaces. The Turkish Breakfast (for 2 people) was so good. A little of everything ....pita, sauces, tahini, olives, feta, tomatoes, cucumbers, dill yogurt, apricot jam, side of potatoes, and 2 sunny side (runny) eggs...to make your taste buds drool! We also shared the Filipino Breakfast Burrito and Brioche french toast with maple syrup and fruits. Solid and delicious. There was even a wide array of coffee drinks. You order at counter, and they bring the yummy goodness to your table. Service was very personable.

This is a very nice place to have a quiet lunch with friends. It's located in an office building and has lovely indoor dining area with lots of seating and an outdoor patio with more seating. Our friendly cashier was Larry and he told us about his special Turkey sandwich. You'll just have to come in and find out for yourself what modifications are made to their Turkey sandwich to make it special. Lol. My friend loved it! I ordered their burger with truffle fries. Love the juicy burger but don't recommend paying extra for the bland and dry truffle fries.

Finding this place was a little interesting. It's in a commercial complex consisting of mostly office buildings and a few restaurants. They did have good way finding signs once I got closer to the location, but I'm still unsure where to park. I ended up parking in a 15 min spot which was a little frustrating. The interior reminds me a bit of a Mondrian Hotel vibe. Very clean and modern. They were a little backed up today and the server seemed flustered and there was a line behind me so I didn't bother to ask about parking for future. Here, you order at the counter and they give you a number and you then seat yourself. This was not obvious as I went in to check on my tea and other couple in line asked me what they should do to get served as the server was back in the kitchen. The outdoor patio is spacious and lovely. They have a fresh herb garden and even great seating areas for groups, as well as individual and communal tables. I'm wondering if maybe they were short staffed today because the head chef (it said so on his chef coat) served my order personally. I actually really appreciated it. He was very kind and the presentation was stunning. I ordered the Ricotta Saffron and Apricot toast and ginger tumeric Rishi tea. The toast was fresh and delicious. I was worried it would be too sweet, but it was perfectly balanced with fresh micro greens and mint. The flax and sunflower seeds added great texture and crunch. 5/5. The tea was warming, fragrant and beautifully presented. It's relatively quiet here at the moment and would make a great place to remote work. The sounds of the birds chirping and singing makes me feel like I'm on vacation. My favorite surprise was the cucumber infused water in the self serve dispenser. It was so subtle and refreshing. The menu is limited, but everything I saw on the tables around me looked beautiful and delicious. I would try them again, especially if I needed a place to get some work done (as long as I can figure out the parking lol)

This happened to be the closest spot I could find for a quick coffee and breakfast/lunch as I was driving through town and it was the best little find of my week! Tucked away in what looked like either a hotel/residential/corporate building, not even sure, but the signs won't lead you astray. The coffee menu had everything you needed. I went with the oat milk vanilla latte and it was good enough to finish before the ice melted, which iykyk. The food menu felt a little random. I wasn't sure in what direction I wanted to go with it. I asked the sweet gentleman behind the counter what his favorite sandwich recommendation was and he hit it out of the park with the Roasted Turkey Sandwich. I have not had a sandwich blow my mind in a long time. Possibly ever in San Diego. But this was it! Every bite had me shaking my head in disbelief with just how fantastic it was. The Roasted Turkey Sandwich, $13, comes with juicy, thick sliced roasted turkey, the freshest mozzarella, arugula, heirloom tomato, sun-dried tomato spread, balsamic reduction and mayo on sourdough bread. I cannot stress enough how fabulous it was.

This place is tucked into what appears to be a conference center/office building. You park in the large lot and then walk through the building to the cafe. It has lots of seating, inside and out. The outside seating is particularly nice - quiet, and filled with lots of shade and plants. You order at a counter and take your number to a table of your choice. The staff were friendly and service was quick. My friend and I ordered the Turkish breakfast to share. It was delicious! Though it is supposed to feed 2 people, we were not quite satisfied and could have ordered more.

This combination works. Think the sisig like most beef in almost any burrito out there can use more time under the grill for a crispier texture. I like all of the components I wish there was more acid as this dish is a bit on the greasier side. Ricotta & Saffron Apricot Toast - 5/5 - Whipped ricotta, apricot jam, mint, hazelnut, multigrain bread. This is a very well composed toast. Each bite you have a the creamy ricotta followed by the subtle flora sweetness from the saffron and apricot and the texture contrast from the crunchy hazel nut. The mint is not very noticeable flavor wise but a green element is appealing. Service & Atmosphere: Service: N/A Ambiance: N/A Overall Thoughts: Best thing I ate: The ricotta & saffron apricot toast. Something to improve: The burrito could include more acid to balance out the savory flavors. I think the beef could also be crispier since it basically became bits of boiled beef in the burrito. There is really not much to change about the ricotta & saffron apricot toast. I think it is already a nicely balanced, sweet, banger of an menu item. I think if you want to take it to the next level find a way to spread the jam more evenly since there are some bites where it is all ricotta. Would I come back? Yes this place got at least one homerun!

Amazing Filipino breakfast burrito!!! Typically I stay away from burritos as they are not my favorite (uncomfortable contortion of the jaw to get a little bit of everything in one bite is not my thing), but I saw that there was sisig pork with garlic rice in the breakfast burrito and I was immediately intrigued. It was quick to order at the counter and lots and lots of seating inside and out. We took our order number and selected a spacious table. The food came out quickly and it did not disappoint! The pork was so flavorful, crispy with the right amount of chewiness. I loved that pairing with the garlic rice, egg, and pickled red onions. It was hearty as well and I had to recruit my husband to help me finish it. Definitely will be back to order this (or maybe try something else) again.

Great cafe to work and meet. So much indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of outlets. Great selection of food and drinks as well! Service was great, as they bring your order to your table and the ambiance is pretty quiet. Pretty family friendly and a great age range of customers. I came here just for the Turkish Breakfast when I saw that they had a fun spread on the menu! This cafe is located in an office building but there's clear signage outside the building to direct you inside. There's plenty of seating both inside and the patio with breakfast served until 11:30am. The Turkish Breakfast is intended for 2 people but honestly I ate most of it myself. First, the eggs are delicious and perfectly cooked in dill yogurt and Aleppo chili oil. Pita bread acts as the main carb to eat with the eggs and toppings. The tahini & molasses was delicious along with the ricotta & saffron jam for a sweet bite. Definitely a fun spread to order and I got an almond cappuccino to drink as well.

Came in for breakfast potatoes during a run. Two people in front of me chatting it up and taking a while to do their order. Go to order breakfast a few minutes after they shut breakfast down and they won't accommodate anything. Their own customer service caused me to miss the breakfast deadline. Place looks great but wow this place is expensive. I came in for a simple breakfast potato order and was told I could order a side of bacon off the breakfast menu and nothing else off that menu. Was trying to carb up so I ended up spending $25 for one of the smallest patty burgers I've had in a while and brussel sprouts. I mean dude I'm not even trying to be rude, but you can see how small and unfilling this burger was from the attached picture. I didn't even know they closed breakfast at 11:30, but unwilling to accommodate a potato order a couple minutes after their deadline? Wow... I wasn't even ordering eggs or anything big. Just very disappointed. I've been here so many times and I came in before on a weekend to find them not open which it is what it is, but this visit really annoyed me.

Yum. Yum. Yum! I have been dying to try this Filipino breakfast burrito and it did not disappoint! So many delicious flavors marinating together in a perfection concoction. Also love the presentation and the flowers around it when they plate the food! Really just an elevated experience! The inside has lots of space to study or work and the outdoor patio is SO peaceful. There's a precious little herb garden out back that makes this space feel so homey Love bringing people here for meetings or just when I need to get work done.

Ordered the Filipino burrito, every bite was even with pork, egg, rice. Nice flavors and texture, nothing soggy. ( I ordered to go, digged in 45 mins later) And the Ricotta Apricot jam Toast ( I wanted something semi-sweet) very good as well. Toast thick enough to hold the hefty amount of toppings. Definitely will return. Location is clean and relaxing, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Thanks to Kimberly and Matt from Select Physical therapy ( 2 min walk) for recommendation. read more

This place is a hidden gem! It's hard to find at first, but once you find it, you'll want to keep coming back. I usually get a latte and sit outside on their back patio. They have indoor and outdoor seating- both shady and sunny spots. It's quiet enough where you can get some work done if needed. The service is incredible! Today, for instance, I ordered the tuna sandwich. I didn't read the menu carefully and didn't see that it had olives in it until I took a bite and noticed it immediately. So, I took it back. I HATE wasting food and having to make cooks redo an order just because of pickiness. I rarely do it, but olives legitimately make me want to vomit. The super friendly woman at the front completely understood, took my sandwich, and within about 5 minutes, I had a new olive-free tuna sandwich. I was so hungry that I didn't feel like focusing on aesthetics when taking the picture..so my apologies for the not-so-Insta-worthy pic I just snapped a photo and then devoured the sandwich..it was delish! read more

This place is randomly located in an office building type place. When you first walk up it doesn't look like it's going to have good food. Behind that little order counter is what appears to be a full kitchen. If you can overlook those things you will have lovely meal. The dining area is spacious with both indoor and outdoor seating. When we went there (on a thursday around 8:30am before hitting Torrey pines for hiking) it was very quiet and serene. We ordered and then sat ourselves and they brought to food out to our table. The breakfast we had was surprisingly delicious for this little office building cafe. We didn't fight any crowds and couldn't have been happier. Highly recommend if you want a tasty breakfast and don't care about "the scene". The small menu has something for everyone! Ample parking in the building lot. read more

This is a quaint eatery with a nice outdoor patio and a healthy yet tasty menu to choose from. It's on the bottom floor of an office building (I think as we were there on a Friday and no one was in the offices). The office building gave us something to explore as it's a modern building that shouts, "Please work here and you'll enjoy your job because you'll love your surroundings." TOAST is located inside this large office building/business center. I came here around 10am on a Monday morning so parking was pretty tough and the lots were full, that's to be expected because it's inside this office center. The indoor and outdoor seating areas were very modern and cleanly designed. I ordered the breakfast sandwich which was very yummy! The eggs were soft and tasty not over-cooked or rubbery. Overall super good! I don't know if more than $8 is worth paying for this sandwich but it does have 3 eggs and the ingredients might be organic, not sure where I stand on that aspect. Needed a place to have a quick meet with my team and found this place on yelp. It did not disappoint! Had a quick brunch and coffee and just worked in the general area. I had the Filipino breakfast burrito which was surprisingly good and helped to add a bit of hot sauce on it. The cafe is located inside an office building and has a ton of seating and fairly calm atmosphere. It's well kept and cleanly. After the cafe closed, the area was cleaned up and still open for patrons to use as a study/work space. Will definitely come back soon read more

This is a wonderful cafe tucked inside a medical office building. The Asian salad was delicious and the added grilled chicken as a substantial and well prepared. The parmesan truffle fries were incredible, topped off with iced tea and espresso. The staff was kind and there is a great outdoor patio with a good amount of seating. Overall a great find for delicious and healthy lunch. read more

It's located right off the 56 freeway near Kabob lounge. Toast is inside an office building. Head straight in and it opens to a great physically distanced patio. The patio is expansive, clean, and quiet enough for chatter. There is limited opening hours and limited staff. But the staff is efficient and friendly. It seems that there are regulars from maybe the nearby businesses because I saw one of the employees address a few people by name. The food was surprisingly good despite its unassuming location and low costs. Brussel Sprouts: soft, but not mushy. The flavor was savory enough with just a bit of balsamic for a dash of sweet. Grilled Cauliflower: crunchy yet flavorful because of the dressing the vegetables are tossed with. Avo toast: artwork made with fresh avo-- wonderful! Cannot wait to be back working in the area to try some of their Tuna Melt and Veg burger. I'll keep you updated! read more

I was in the neighborhood and haven't had any breakfast, quick search in my Yelp app and Toast Cafe shoed up as a new place in Carmel Valley that serves breakfast and lunch. The place is a bit tricky to find but the sign outside helps with that. Its actually inside the building on the first floor with a nice, very large outdoor patio, very modern and spacious. From breakfast staples i picked their Breakfast sandwich and it didn't disappoint. it came on a warm soft brioche bun stuffed with eggs, cheese and a bit of arugula. Latte that i paired the sandwich with was also delicious and rich. Ill be back to try other breakfast items. I took it off one star because there is no drip coffee, not yet at least. read more

The reviews here are all uniformly excellent for TOAST Cafe, but I will add my 2 cents too. This little cafe inside an office building is a great place for breakfast (they have lunch too). Lots of socially-distant outside seating in new, clean surroundings (with a cool succulent wall backdrop). This was my first time dining out in the pandemic and I felt utterly safe here. Standard breakfast was delicious (I had the All-American Breakfast Plate), and my friend really enjoyed the breakfast sandwich (consisting of 3 cage free eggs, sharp cheddar, arugula, chipotle aioli, on a brioche bun) too. I had a green smoothie of kale, spinach, cucumber, apple juice, agave that was really refreshing as well. And because it was my birthday, I got a piece of cake free too! Yay and thank you, TOAST Cafe Owner - it was delicious! Highly recommend! read more

The brioche breakfast sandwiche with bacon is the best breakfast sandwiche I have ever had in my life. I've eaten all over the world. Nothing tops what I just ravenously devoured in a beautiful modern setting. The eggs were undeniably small farm fresh. The type you would get from well fed backyard chickens. The aoli sauce has a great savory flavor that perfectly balances the sweetness of the brioche bun. The bacon was closer to pork belly than actual bacon and was absolutely mouth watering. 10/10 read more

Strangle location, as it is in an office building, however the food was great. The outdoor dining area is perfect for Covid-19 restrictions. The menu is limited, however the food that we ordered was tasty and so fresh. We could literally taste the lemon in the lemon infused olive oil. The Chef's wife Kim was so friendly, she told us about the organic Italian coffee that they serve. They offered oat milk which is a must as far as I'm concerned. It seems like they are way busier with takeouts and food deliveries than the on-site dining. We did feel like the place was spotless and totally accommodating as far as social distancing is concerned. Will definitely be going back. read more

The food is absolutely horrible. The only seasoning in the kitchen is salt and they use way too much of it. The views are horrible tho that was a selling point. And the wait time is awful considering you are waiting for just salt. read more

This is a hidden gem! So delicious, so welcoming, so unique, so tastefully presented. We came here at just the right time to order off the breakfast and lunch menu! We got the must have Turkish Breakfast, the breakfast sandwich, the double crispy chicken sandwich and the burger and fries. All of them were superb, large portions, fresh ingredients, unique flavors, and beautifully presented. Their chai and latte drinks were also amazing. They are open during weekday business hours only and located in a professional building. The indoor and outdoor seating is expansive and comfortable. They apparently have a large-scale catering we vice as well. Totally recommend!!! read more

This is an excellent café, and I would recommend this to anyone in the area. In fact, during my trip to San Diego, I thought about going back more than once. There's quite a bit of space for dining-- indoor and outdoor. It's light and modern with cute decoration details like a succulent wall outside. Restrooms are part of the building and very clean. I had wonderful interactions with the staff-- very helpful, friendly and efficient. They cleared tables quickly and sanitized thoroughly, which I appreciated. The signage for both the menu and their COVID-19 precautions was clear and very easy to navigate. I had an iced lavender latte with oat milk (at the suggestion of the staff) and their plain bagel & schmear with cherry jelly. Both were fantastic.
