Always a place to take guests! We were in Toast about 3 weeks ago and had an experience that goes to show their great customer service and integrity. My sister and her family were visiting and we went in for a last family breakfast before they were hitting the road. I knew this was always a crowd pleasing place- adults and kids alike. Sis was taste testing the decaf coffee (don't judge ). She took a sip and cocked her neck back and looked at cup- there was a thick layer of lipstick on the rim, someone ELSE'S lipstick. She said she actually tasted the lipstick. Yikes!!! She told the server, who was still tableside, and the server passed info on to manager. He promptly came to the table, said he would take care of her meal and apologized. Server and manager were both gracious. My sister and I worked in the food and bev industry for many years and know how hard it can be to remove lipstick from rims. Things happen, it's what you do afterwards that shows the character of staff members and integrity of the restaurant. After the incident, not only was the manager attentive to us, but I noticed that same care and detail to the other patron tables, as well! The dishes are HUGE, sauces are fresh tasting, and they've upped the menu diversity to accommodate vegetarians like me and put some creative food creations on there to compete with that rising market here in downtown Littleton. Toast - oh, how I love thee. You have never given me a bad meal, and though you make me wait sometimes it's never for too long. I really don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu at Toast. I am partial to the Denver omelette smothered with green chili for breakfast and the Cuban sandwich for lunch, but I've tried other things and liked them all. Sometimes it seems to take a while to get your food. I'm guessing because most of the time the place is packed! But, once you get your food, you forget all about the slight delay because it is so delicious. You can tell that the servers are working hard and they are friendly. The dining room is nothing fancy. It kind of has a diner feel, which I like. And, I like the different toast art along the walls. Parking can be a bit tricky, as with many places in downtown Littleton, but you can usually find a spot on the street or in the little nearby lots and not have to walk too far. And, if you do end up walking, you can enjoy the many other lovely shops that downtown Littleton has to offer. If you're in the area, you should definitely drop in and give them a try. My experience at Toast was unexpected. This is a small diner at the corner of a busy intersection in Littleton. They do have a larger back room, but I prefer the light and activity of the front area. Service was friendly and efficient and the food delicious. My waffle was served hot with perfectly done eggs. But I was most impressed by the atmosphere-a welcoming, neighborhood place. Diners ranged from smartly dressed business men and women to students and families. The only reason I rated this establishment 4 rather than 5 stars is difficulty and lack of parking. read more

OK so I really really like this place-- I consider it my favorite breakfast joint in the Metro area . The wait is sturdy on the weekend (but NEVER like another popular brunch destination that rhymes with booze). The food is always awesome. MASSIVE SLABS of french toast (try the Santa Fe, it's good for at least two meals). The pancake flight looks damn sexy. I am always pleased with their benedicts, and Novo coffee is never something I will complain about. A filling, tasty breakfast with a moderate price tag, and a refreshing absence of D-bags. Stopped in for breakfast during our stay in Littleton. Menu is extensive & has a lot of great options. I was between the honey fried chicken & biscuits and the carnitas Benedict... went with the benedict. Kinda wish I went with the chicken. The carnitas were underwhelming and not seasoned (at all). I was hoping the eggs & hollandaise would make up for it, but they didn't. So it was kind of odd. The side potatoes were great & well seasoned. Husband got the burrito, which he liked. Strong cup of coffee and oodles of breakfast choices. Small little cozy diner feel. Pieces of "toast" hang up on the wall with different recreations of modern art with a toast touch. At 1pm on a Saturday there was no wait, but the placed filled up quick! -Steak Benedict: Flavorful fillet, soggy can't quite tell if it's toasted english muffin. The hollandaise sauce was, a little spicy and just had something I was not a fan of. The eggs were perfectly poached. Tasty little breakfast potatoes, loved that they were prepared with sautéed green peppers and onion. -Fried Apple Pancakes: Overly sweet. I thought it would taste like apple pie, and the pieces of apple were a little bitter. Now I was expecting sweet..this was just like corn syrup poured on top. Maybe I'll try one of the other specialty pancakes next time. The flap jack it self was fluffy and perfect alone. Lots of options on this menu, and I can't wait to taste test more. They do offer carry out service if you're not up to facing a weekend crowd. This place also won't cure a bloody mary or screwdriver craving, Toast is dry in the sense of alcohol. read more

Cute, small, friendly diner a little off the beaten path for this Capital Hill gal. We went here for a coworkers going away lunch and after reviewing their menu I was sure there wasn't going to be anything I could eat here. As with most breakfast joints the menu is dominated by eggs, breakfast meats, and other American diner fare. Really though not even a veggie sandwich option or a convenient way to change up an existing item for our vegan pals? I am getting pretty good at changing items to my liking but that really wasn't possible here. Luckily for the first time that lunch they were serving a vegan carrot curry soup which was pretty darn good. This restaurant is small but actually pretty great for groups. They have a backroom which easily fit the 15 of us who dined here. I also really appreciated that even though we had a large group we were still able to have a quick lunch and get back to work within our limits. Having worked in a restaurant I know it is not easy getting a party of 15 in and out in an hour without making them feel like they are rush or that the server is in the weeds the entire time. I wish I caught his name but he was great! My group seemed to love everything they ordered so I am sure this place it great for our meat and egg folks out there. I have to admit that I had a bad attitude walking into Toast. The parking lot is atrocious, which I don't tend to expect or plan for in suburbia. I literally had to wait 3 times to back up and fit into a parking space because of the number of cars coming and going and trying to fit into small spots in a crammed lot. The menu is large with fairly standard options-benedicts, French toast, pancakes, omelets, eggs, sandwiches and burgers. I have sampled a fair number of items here, and while they come in hearty portions, another common thread is that it all seems to be lacking a touch of flavor. Today I had bacon and breakfast potatoes. The potatoes were sliced, lightly oiled and seasoned and generously portioned. They tasted pretty good with ketchup and salt. The bacon was cooked well and was neither too limp nor top crispy. Overall, a fairly standard greasy spoon, but not one I will drive out of my way to get to. read more

The coffee was divine and the burrito was monstrously huge! It was filled to capacity and very yummy. The pico was a tad too spicy for me but its OK because it was on the side. Where do I begin. I used to pass by Toast when they were on Santa Fe and was intrigued, however I never stopped. Then I heard through "Denver Food Scene" that they had moved to a larger venue, again intrigued. Fast forward many months and I just happened to be in the area on a Saturday morning, so I thought I'd give it a go. I repeatedly tried to order for pickup online and kept getting an error message. After at least an hour of attempts, I tried to order over the phone, however that was also an impossible task. I thought I would try one more time online, and was finally able to order. After placing my order for pickup, I thought it was odd that it said it would be ready within 15 minutes. I made my way to the restaurant and parked to wait until the 15 minutes was up. I had been parked for only 5 minutes and I received a text letting me know my order was ready. I went inside and the online table was empty so i waited for approximately 5 more minutes and it was brought out. I noticed I wasn't feeling any heat whatsoever from the bag and thought that was odd. When I got in my car I felt the box and it was ice cold. Again, odd since I was in the restaurant when they brought it from the kitchen. When I arrived home, I opened the box and revealed ice cold French toast. Warming it up was not part of my plan, however I was left no choice. The thoughts going through my mind were something like, "I really hope this is phenomenal since I have had so much difficulty for a $21.00 check. I left a 25% tip, anticipating a delicious breakfast. To say it was extremely dense, bland, and super chewy, would be an understatement. If I'm being honest, I might as well have just thrown $21 in the trash can. I will never recommend this place to anyone, will never return, and will forever wonder if this is the norm or if it was just an unlucky day. What a charming little family-owned brunch place in Littleton. I came here on a Sunday around 2pm after a hike and was absolutely ravenous! The owner (manager? I can't recall) served us himself, and was super enthusiastic and grateful for us as patrons. It's says a heck of a lot about a place when the people working love their jobs and are passionate about the food they make and serve. I'm usually a Benedict kind of gal, so when the owner mentioned the Eggs Blackstone I was sold. It's a twist on the classic Benedict in which they swapped out the prosciutto for several (I counted 8) thick slices of sugary maple & red pepper bacon. I added avocado per his suggestion and it was mind-blowing! We shared an order of biscuits and gravy for the table and were warned that it was addictive...thanks, I will now be craving it for months! The coffee and lattes are delicious as well. For me, a brunch place with bad coffee is a deal-breaker, and Toast exceeded my expectations. All-in-all, I will say that this place is so great, that I didn't even miss out on the *gasp* mimosas that they don't serve. That's right, I said it - they're that good! read more

For being a small little shop I was impressed with the food. Staff were friendly, and for being as busy as they were the food came out fairly quickly. Prices were good as well! There's not much parking for such a busy place, so we had to kinda hang out in the car until somebody pulled out of a spot. We also waited outside for about 25 minutes for a table which is never fun but to be expected for a busy little shop, coffee is available while waiting for a table. Oh Toast. In our quest to find the best breakfast place in town the boyfriend and I went to Toast. He fell in love and I fell in like. This location has a craptastic parking lot that is most likely to cause you to have to make an awkward 15 point turn and still not find somewhere to actually park. I usually use the lot south of the building. Inside is a little strange. It has been modified to suit their needs but it is clear that it isn't really the ideal lay out. Not a big deal but it is popular enough that I often feel in the way even when I am sitting at a table. They do have a back room that has much less traffic and is pretty calm. The food is delicious. I personally think they do a better job on the sweet items than on the savory and I am a bigger savory fan. The boy is a bigger sweet fan and he loves everything he gets. That being said their crab cake Benedict is a gift from god. Crab cakes, poached eggs and hollandaise have never done me wrong individually and they sure didn't together. I have tried other things because it is a bit spendy and I don't leave feeling so stuffed I want to curl up in bed and take a 2 hour nap. We came with our four dogs and they opened the patio up just for us. They were so accommodating to us, brought us plenty of water for the dogs and even brought out bacon for them to have without us even asking. The food was amazing and came out so quickly. We don't usually dine in Littleton, but we were in the neighborhood. The service was friendly and a greeter promptly seated us. Problem is that they seated us in the back room past the bathrooms. Pretty weird space. I felt like I was in the back room of a church having coffee after a church service. The food was OK, but certainly overpriced. Blueberry pancakes, chicken sandwich, smothered burrito and eggs were all mediocre. Funny smells in the room and the hallway and servers and cooks with dirty shirts did not make the food taste better. Two stars = "I've experienced better." OK, wanted to give three stars, but the food was just too good. This place is small. I'm not a huge fan of sitting so close to other patrons that I hear every word of their conversation. Seating, in my opinion, is way too close and kinda infringes on my personal space. I had the pancakes and chicken, and it was phenomenal. I did my best to finish, but I put a 3000 calorie cap on my breakfast. Coffee was just meh. The one thing they have to address is the f$%@+&% flies! I got to at least burn some of my breakfast off constantly keeping up my guard against the army of flies that would not leave me alone, and I wasn't the only one. This place was good and will probably order to go next time. Small, tight with flies bothering me every second makes for a not so comfortable breakfast experience. read more

Way over priced for what it is which is your standard diner fare. I ordered the corned beef hash which is made in house and it was good. Not worth the price tag though. I also ordered a cinnamon roll which I was stoked for. It took forever to come out and when I got it, I swear it had the textured of something that had been warmed in the microwave, so tough. Warning to the caffeine sensitive- The Novo coffee (free with a Yelp check in!) is very good, but I think the decaf has a pretty high caffeine content. Great place and good food... however I did mark them down a little bit. Often crowded on weekends and smaller inside than you might normally consider reasonable. (Elbow to elbow with adjoining tables, not enough room for multiple dishes, and hard to hear in many cases.) I prefer weekdays and very early to avoid the crowds. Let me just explain to you my experience from going there for the very first time. It was awful. I go in with my family that is visiting in town for a funeral. The second we walk in the hostess was instantly rude to my family. We get sat down, our waitress was super unprofessional. She acted as if she didn't have a care in the world for what we thought about her. So we order. I asked for some of my food to come on the side. And she brings mine and my boyfriends food out with everything how it was supposed to go. Nothing in the side. We let it slide because it's a big party. Without hesitation I start trying to cut into my chicken. It wouldn't cut. I pick up the pancake because I ordered chicken and pancakes and i'm not even exaggerating. My chicken was burnt to a crisp. I was black. I call over another lady, and I tell her what's going on and she said and I quote "I'm not your waitress that's her problem" and walks off. Now if that's not just the most unprofessional thing to say, I waited for my waitress to come back over the my table and I told her. She then brought me out another overcooked chicken, not nearly as burnt as the first. But still way overcooked. I let it go. I just ate it. My first experience there will also be my last because of how awful the service is and the food. My experience was terrible. read more

Never again! I drive by this restaurant all of the time. I decided to try it out and give it a chance. I stopped in with 2 others. The people are very nice that work there. However, the food they serve is very low grade. We were all disappointed. The potatoes were slimy and didn't even taste like a potato. The scrambled eggs reminded me of the instant eggs you get when you stay at a 3 star hotel that offers a free breakfast bar. The pancakes had decent flavor but were so hard and rubbery you need an power saw to cut them. The french toast was a joke. ZERO FLAVOR. The bacon was all fatty and rubbery. Overall, poor food quality, sloppy plates and lazy cooks that prepare them. I'm sticking with the Pancake House and The Egg & I. No more small boutique breakfast dumps. Pros: Our server was so, so nice. He took great care of us. The food is fantastic, menu has a great variety of options and flavors and portions are huge - so it's really breakfast and lunch (or dinner) in one meal. If you can't go on a quieter weekday, the waitlist signup option through Yelp is a game changer. We had maybe a 5-10 min wait once we arrived vs. 50 minutes, and got a text when the table was ready. The savory Santa Fe french toast is a must try for chorizo/southwest lovers. I had tried it years ago the first time I'd been to Toast and remembered it had a tangy chipotle sauce. That has since been removed because (it was explained to me) the chipotle overwhelmed the other flavors. It'd be nice if they added that back in as a side or drizzled it on... I have remembered (and craved) that mix of flavors for 10 years! Cons: It is packed on the weekend. If it's a chilly day and you're offered a seat by the door, you might want to defer to someone hungrier than you and wait for a warmer spot. read more
