However, it was a long wait to order drinks once we were seated, a long wait to order food, for the food to come out and even to get the check. The food is not bad but very mid. The Strawberry Screwdriver tasted very water down in flavor. So if you like a light drink this may be good for you. The breakfast quesadilla had a good salsa but that was the only flavor you're going to get on that entree. I also got the strawberry shortcake croissant donut but it came after I finished my food. When we went in we had to wait to be seated so we decided to sit at the bar because there was a wait...this place gets crowded, which makes me think the food is good. We started out with the mimosa flight, which was a little too sweet for my taste. The people next to us also ordered a mimosa flight and said it was too sweet. The other cocktails on the menu are made with soju so I wasn't interested in trying another sweet drink. I ordered the Country Fried Steak with over medium eggs and I was disappointed. The food came out lukewarm and the country fried steak tasted like it came from IHOP or the grocery store freezer section. My eggs were runny and the cheesy hash was definitely not cheesy. My husband had the Loaded Burrito and said there was nothing special about it. I really wanted to like this spot but I don't think I'll go again. The young lady who was not our server checked on us one time and that time we had to tell her to tell our server we are ready to order. Horrible experience when we took my aunt out for her birthday brunch today. Every order was wrong at the table and even after several attempts to ask for missing items, they still could not get it right. When we asked for a manager she came and apologized. Food wad cold, coffee was cold, eggs under cooked and French toast was rubbery at best. When the bill came we were shocked. We do not ever go out intending to get free things but sometimes these things happen and if you have any decency as a business owner, you offer some compensation. We got none. We got told, "nobody else is complaining". We were made to feel as though we did something wrong. Never again. Food wasn't even good. Don't waste your money or time. Do not eat here. I was taken today by my daughter sister and niece for a birthday brunch. They managed to get 3 out of 4 orders wrong. It took several attempts to try and get it right which they never did. Manager wasn't even going to comp any of the meal but after protest agreed to a twenty dollar discount. He tried to blame the waitress but it wasn't her fault. She read back the order perfectly before taking it to the kitchen. The coffee was cold and wasn't readily refilled. We just had the absolute worst brunch experience we have ever had. Found this place as we were coming to the Sugarland First Colony Mall for some shopping. The menu looked fine with typical Brunch dishes so we decided to go with it. Food took about 20 minutes to arrive but not a big deal. We ordered the big a$$ burrito and the buffalo chicken burrito with a side of a single waffle for something on the sweeter side. Burritos were okay but for some strange reason wrapped in parchment paper like the food you find at gas stations. It was tolerable but not good at all. The waffle however was inedible because it was nothing but sugar on top of sugar. So we asked a staff member to find our server. We asked if it was possible to remake without the sugar. He told us that the waffles are not homemade so he can't make it without the sugar. So we asked him to send it back and we didn't like it. We decided to give up eating the rest of the food also and asked for the check. We paid and tipped the server 20%. Just to my luck I looked at the printed receipt and turns out the waffle we didn't want was still on the bill. Since our server was at another table we walked up to the bar to get help with the bill. The employee that offered to help went to our server and came back and told us that since they are a "mom and pops restaurant we have to pay for the waffle". I told her we sent it back because we didn't like it and we needed that removed from the bill. WE ONLY TOOK 2 BITES AND WE BOTH AGREED IT WAS WAY TOO SUGARY. I got upset right away because I've never been asked to pay for any food I didn't like and sent back. The server that helped us said to us "don't be upset with me I'm just a messenger". We asked for a manager or the owner and her answer was "we don't have a manager and the owners are not here". So basically there is NO management or quality control here. Our server came from his table and reconfirmed that he is not going to remove the charge for the waffle from the bill. Then another employee who was at the bar interjected himself into the conversation and told me to "change my tone", and he was getting more aggressive by the minute. HE HAD NO REASON TO GET INVOLVED AS HE WAS NOT HELPING BUT MAKING THINGS WORSE. So this restaurant has no management or owners to resolve customer concerns and the staff is ready to fight customers over a waffle. Finally the first two employees decided to readjust our bill. I reminded our server that we even gave him a 20% tip but never expected the servers to behave this way about food the customers didn't like. NEVER GOING BACK HERE. PLEASE STAY AWAY. Decided to try something a little different so also got the fire in the hole donut. Reminded my of a French toast with some savory bonus. Little bit of syrup made it perfect. When you walk in everyone is doing two things, stuffing their faces and having a great time. I knew the food was good from how loud people were smacking tables down from me. They had sold out of the cronuts 2 times while I was there and I didn't get to taste them...I'll be back for them. So I tried a oreo cream pancake that caused a foodgasm in my body. One of the most subpar service I have received in a while. I had to wait 15 minutes to get my water and get my ordered taken down. Getting the food was an acceptable amount of time and then when someone came to check in on us we asked for the check. 15 minutes pass by and I saw the person we asked for the check from just idling by the bar area. I had to go up and ask him again for the check and then he gave it to me. I went here for the first time on Saturday and had the chili oil gas with steak and it was perfectly seasoned and fantastic. It took me two meals to eat. I went back today to try the shrimp and grits the manager recommended. Totally opposite reaction. The sauce was ok but the grits were not seasoned at ALL. They were just flavorless and bland like they were boiled and put on the plate. The seasoning in the sauce was not nearly enough to make up for this. I had to add a bunch of salt and at least two tablespoons hot sauce to make up for the bland and tasteless grits. Additionally I had to wait 15 minutes for my check in a place that was near empty today. Totally different place when the manager isn't there. I regretted my visit today. read more

I asked to substitute the toast for a biscuit. The server said she didn't know if she can do that but she will try. My food came out with the substitute biscuit. The food was barely room temperature and the cheesy hash was cold. The biscuit was hard and toasted. The bacon wasn't crispy as requested. The pancake had a good flavor but was overcooked. The eggs were perfectly cooked but wasn't hot. Just overall not what I expected for a first time visit. It took awhile for the server to come back to check. By then, the food was cold. I told her about everything and she said there's a new cook that has been overcooking the food. There wasn't a manager present. She offered to have it remade. We were very disappointed today with our experience at Toast. We didn't have to wait which was nice. The hostess was friendly and cheerful. I ordered the Hawaiian burger. The beef burger comes with a fried egg, caramelized pineapple, spam, lettuce, tomatoes, and spicy mayo. I chose no tomatoes. It comes with a side of seasoned fries. The fries were crispy and tasty. I liked them. Ketchup came in small ketchup packets. Not a fan of that. The Hawaiian burger was a HOT MESS. There was a puddle of sauce (I'm assuming from the caramelized pineapple) under the burger. Can you say wet soggy bun? There was a half of a slice of pineapple on the burger. Seriously, one half had pineapple the other didn't. The egg was cooked well. I asked for it medium hard so there was some yolk but not much. That worked for me. The burger was a super slim patty like the ones from a cheap frozen section bag of burgers. No wonder when I asked for my burger to be cooked medium the guy looked confused and said their burgers are cooked medium-medium well. There's no choice on the cook because it so thin. The execution on this burger was a huge fail. They need better quality & size burger patties and better execution. The flavors weren't bad. I had to ask another server to get me a refill of tea because our server was taking an extremely long time at the counter pouring orange juice for 3 people at the counter. He was too busy socializing when his customers were waiting for him to come on the floor. My husband got the cheeseburger and said he would have rather gone to Whataburger. The menu is quite expansive for breakfast and lunch. There were about 10 "specialty" burgers listed. If you are unable to execute well, perhaps scale down the menu to a manageable amount of items.
