I used to live a minute walking distance from Toasted Bun and that was my weekend breakfast/lunch go to! Moved to Burbank a year ago, but came to Toasted Bun this weekend and they've done so much! They've added a beautiful outdoor area they've built behind the building with plenty of umbrellas to block the direct sun. Made my husband and I feel safe as we still won't do indoor dining. They've also updated their menu a little bit! I got the BLTA (Bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado) which has always been my favorite here, and I always add red onion to it! If you like onions I highly recommend adding red onion to it!! The bacon is thick cut and crispy and the vegetables and lightly toasted bread are so fresh. My husband tried the fried chicken sandwich which I'm pretty sure is new! It was delicious and had coleslaw on it. He did have to eat it quick because of the coleslaw, but he didn't complain. I ended here completely by accident. I left DTLA and came to Glendale and decided to just look for a breakfast place. OK, the Toasted Bun appeared as I was driving and I got a street parking spot right in front. There is a lot in the back so parking is not a problem. The server came with the menu, asked about coffee, and was there shortly with my cup of fresh, hot coffee. She appeared to be a server with some experience because she knew how to treat customers and she had a great smile. There are a lot of things on their menu. I opted for the chipotle omelette because of the promise of spicy chipotle sauce on top. I got breakfast potatoes and rye toast. When the omelette arrived, it wasn't covered in chipotle sauce but rather there were areas where spicy chipotle sauce had been placed. It was nice and spicy. Standard toast and potatoes and refills for the coffee. This appeared to be a locals place as many of the customers knew each other. It's fun to eat in places like that. read more

They literally had a "more breakfast" and "more lunch" section which made it even more difficult to pick! Just ate from this place today (ordered for brunch) and boy oh boy, the food coma my friend and I have been put in is totally worth it. The onion rings are super crispy and not at all soggy (something I find common at other places I order onion rings from). Im definitely ordering extra next time! Be prepared though, if you order a burger- those MFs are STACKED (which is a good thing). I usually am able to finish a burger in maybeee 15 ish minutes? I had to take a break with this one because wooooo boy, the bloat was real. Only critique is, I ordered medium rare and the patty was a tad bit over cooked, but honestly everything else was so great I didn't even care. My friend enjoyed her bacon and cheese omelette and we devoured the banana pancakes immediately (not pictured here because it is already in our bellies). Walked over here waiting out some car repairs. There is ample Street parking for those not on foot. They have everything you would expect from a diner including hundreds (or it feels like it) breakfast and lunch combinations. While they clearly updated some things, they manage to keep the vinyl booths and unlimited coffee that makes these places special. I had the corncakes which ate a little dry but enjoyed the meal overall. Service was okay; I think the woman serving me was far more attentive to others.
