Excellent Turkey and Avocado Sandwich. Not like your typically soggy and meat-meager Subways sandwich who would put one slice of deli meat every 6 inches of sandwich. They have pre-selected sandwiches which they pretty much perfect. So no need to pick and choose your own ingredients - - they'll do it for you! Just a dollar or two more than Subways but definitely worth the price. Went there on a slow evening so they even made me a sandwich they said they were "experimenting" with. Not even on the menu. Togo's is my favorite sandwich shop of all; however, I am a little disappointed with the store is Davis, CA on Covell Boulevard. They advertise as being open until 8:00 pm, but when I approached the door on 05/15/2020 at 7:45 pm the employee was just locking the place up and closing to the public. I used to go to this place occasionally, but never again! I bought over $100 in sandwiches for a HOA meeting plus a personal one . I couldn't figure out how they made the sandwiches so fast, but I wasn't complaining. The sandwiches for the meeting weren't exactly right- but they were close enough since I wasn't eating them. I get home and my sandwich is ONLY meat! No veggies, not even condiments. No wonder they made them so fast. Not to mention, I was the only customer in there, so it's not like the sanwich artists got distracted. The next day I called the manager and she told me to just bring in the receipt to get my refund (no sandwich needed) at my convenience. I go in a few days later when I was in the shopping center and the guy in charge told me "No." That if I wanted a refund I'd have to have the sandwich (that was long since garbage by then). He called me a liar to my face and told me that he wasn't going to let me have another sandwich on the house. That receipt I had had over $100 of sandwiches- why would I just try to get 1 free one? Finally, he called the woman I had called (thank goodness I got her name) and begrudgingly gave me my refund reiterating the fact that he thought I was a liar. My favorite deli place in Davis. They have an excellent daily special for $5. A different 6" sandwich each day of the week, a drink and a bag of chips. My favorite days are saturday and sunday, turkey and cheese or turkey and avocado. Normally it is over 8 bucks, but on the weekends, $5.46. The staff is always helpful and fast. I love togos... I used to go to this location often enough as I worked near by but haven't been in a while. I went in the other day and I have to say it has gone way downhill. I noticed when I fist walked in how the customer service was non existent. I ordered a turkey and avocado which is what I usually ordered in the past. When I started to eat the sandwich I noticed large pieces of avocado, not normal sizes. I took the avocado out and it was very very hard, not ripe AT ALL and to top it off, pieces of it still had the peel on it and other pierces had the outer layer of the pit. Needless to say, probably won't return. Nugget has great sandwiches so I'll probably just continue going there. They have changed owners in the last 6 months (I inquired when I noticed the customer service and they said yes) and from what I can tell, have not kept up the Togo's reputation. Togo's makes great sandwiches- the best. They put Subway to shame, I hate Quizno's and have never tried Mr. Pickles. I pick-up lunch here about once a week. They are always busy at lunch, but the service is still fast. The Italian (#16) on Ciabatta bread is my favorite sandwich and the regular is perfect size. I love the way they price the menu items- everything is $5.49 including tax. I think the price is great and cannot be beat. What don't I like? I manage a local hotel and have recommended Togo's to clients holding meetings several times. Each time they have screwed up my clients order and always blame the customer for their own mistakes and take way too long to correct the situation. The catered food is good and a easy lunch option but poorly executed on Togo's end. Sadly I have stopped recommending Togo's for catering. read more

They are still high as all get out. I asked for extra cranberry for my turkey and boy did he give extra! I couldn't even eat it and it was oozing from the bread. Really overpowered the turkey and everything else. The bread is kind of hard here and I was surprised that there were not much turkey slices on the sandwich. The guy that made the sandwich was pleasant enough but this store is like any other chain--the links are weak. read more

Usually I'm a 'Subway' person but after coming here for the first time, my heart changed... For the better! Let me start off that although they only have a 6' and 9' option, they are wider and thus bigger than 'Subway''s sandwhiches! I got a turkey and avocado 9' sandwhich expecting it to be relatively smaller than 'Subway''s "footlong" subs, but I was shocked when I saw that it was definitely worth the 9 bucks it cost me. The menu is very much like 'Quiznos' but you are still able to pick whatever you want on it, toasted or fresh. Really impressed with the service here today, I've been to this location tons of times and service has always been decent but today they went above and beyond. I was in a hurry and got my sandwich and when I looked in my purse I realized I had left my wallet at home. I asked if they would take a check instead and the manager kindly said that my meal would be on them today. My boyfriend and I love Togo's and we have never had any problems with the actual quality of the items. The reason for the low rating is that every single time we go in something is wrong with our order. Usually it is sandwich size. We repeat the size we want multiple times but somehow they always mix our sandwich sizes which gets old after awhile. Also, my boyfriend always asks for no onions (he's allergic) and they have, on multiple occasions, given him onions. We discover this after we open our sandwiches at home. We have had to throw sandwiches away for fear onion extract got on other parts of the sandwich. Just check your sandwiches before you leave if you plan on taking it home! read more

I love the Pastrami Ruben. I think this is the only place in Davis that makes it. The staff is friendly and I think they don't put that much protein when the management is working. Otherwise, I'm already addicted to the Pastrami Ruben (Although, I'm pretty sure there's a ton of saturated fat on it. read more

I came here out of pure curiosity on my lunch break; I have always been a Subway fan. My order was nothing special, just a regular turkey breast sandwich. The associates were very friendly and were quick to make my order! To my surprise, I actually enjoyed it MORE than my usual Subway sandwiches! I would have given TOGO'S 5 stars, but you can't actually see the associates make your sandwich because there is a solid, small barrier dividing the prep area and lounge. It would be nice to see how much produce and meat is being put on my sandwich to avoid disappointment later. Other than that, bravo! Greatest food in Davis, great service, clean restaurant, CHEAP paper bags for the sandwitches. Today my 6" sandwich bag ripped AGAIN in the parkinglot. Ask them to double bag your sandwitch or give you a large bag. No clue why they give out bags the quality of paper mache. read more

I used to goto the TOGOs downtown on B ST religiously when 15 or 20 years ago before it shut down. I now goto the West Covell location from time to time next to Dos Coyotes. It is an excellent sandwich, but the price is not a great value compared to what it once was. Chalk part of that to inflation maybe. I used to get a large #23 (salami and cheese) for $3.50 in the 90s, and it is $6.95 now. Togos white bread is excellent and one of the strengths of the sandwich. The meats are generally above average - usually get salami or pastrami. While I still enjoy these sandwiches I do not go as often thanks to the poorer value. read more

Am I the only one who thinks Togo's is better than Subway? Their bread is fresh, meat is fresh (ever wonder why the meat at some Subway stores is so slimy?? I do), everything is fresh. They give you great ratios of meat to cheese to produce....and even the regular 6" sandwich seems large to me (the large is 9", smaller than other places lengthwise, but Ive never been able to finish one in a single sitting). $5 daily meal deals cant be beat, you get a regular sandwich (changes daily), chips, and a drink for 5 bucks. Only want the sandwich? ~$4. The location is great, right next to Safeway and Dos Coyotes, so sometimes we'll just get a large bag of chips and some drinks from the grocery store and sandwiches from Togo's and eat at home. Parking lot is sometimes really full in that area, but there are always spots somewhere close by. Seating is limited, they have a couple of tables outside, but I recommend getting it togo (get it??) read more

We split a large $9 turkey and avocado sandwich. The sourdough bread roll was way too big for the measly filling. We tore off half the bread and it still felt like there was too much of the bland bread roll. Disappointing quality - the turkey was watery & tasteless. I absolutely LOVE Togos....each and every location that I have ever ordered from has been outstanding. On 2/7/17 I ordered two sandwiches via the online app and asked for 2x pepperoncini's but instead I got half the pepper shaker. I am not a fan of pepper and I was biting into large amounts. I love Togo's but this location disappointed me. I usually get the hot patrami sandwich. The meat was different than any other Togo's I've eaten. It didn't taste fresh. The bread was old.
