I actually created a yelp account because the customer service at this place was some of the worst I have ever experienced. Walked in at 7:30 to get a spot at the hibachi table and was told 15 mins or so and we would have the next side of a table that becomes available. As we waited at the bar, we were never even offered a drink or even acknowledged by the 'bartender'. Then we watched as people coming in after us waited at least 10 mins to place just a simple to go order. After taking their order the 'host ' (Just one of the 3 random employees that occasionally rotated towards the front) then asked if we had been helped, explained that we had, but wanted to order some beers. He walked away and no one ever came back up to the bar area. Finally at 8:10 a party walks in late for their 8pm reservation. Another host/busser/waiter then tells them he's going to sit them at the table that had finally cleared. I stopped him and said the other host told us we had the next table available and been waiting for 40 mins. He then responded with, well they have a reservation. At that point I was pissed and told him I don't care if they have a reservation, they were late and we wouldn't have sat here this long if someone just explained that they were going to sit late reservations in front of patrons that had been already waiting. After dealing with this absolute shit show of obvious lack of management and any sort of customer service training to their assumed high school staff, I would never recommend going here unless you set the expectations extremely low and maybe get lucky that a person of relative competence will be there to take care of you. End result is we walked out with a now cranky 4 and 6 year old that hadn't had dinner yet and proceeded down the road to Sushi Yamakazi. Who actually had a real host and took care of us right away and provided completely normal customer service, which is all that is expected. read more

When I place a call in order and show up to pay I expect you to be able to process my credit card payment. When your system is down and I stand there for 20 minutes you should either take my payment manually or give me my food. When you say it's not your problem that's not the right answer. read more

Decent place for hibachi, sushi is better. We go quite a bit cause not that many options. Drinks are hit and miss cause they don't have a real bartender. It's small so if you want hibachi you better call. Only 3 hibachi tables in restaurant. read more

I've been to this place probably about 5 times in the last 2-3 months. I will preface this review by saying that this is typically at least a 4 star experience and I've been meaning to review it for a while now, so I hate that I'm finally doing it after a not so good experience. The hibachi has always been great. Never had a bad experience there. However, last night, I dined alone, so I sat in the dining area and had hibachi from the kitchen. They always say "It's the same thing, they just make it in the back." This was NOT what I was accustomed to. Everything from start to finish was just not good. I started with a shrimp tempura roll that just unrolled and fell apart when I picked pieces up with my chopsticks. I had the scallop and shrimp hibachi. One of the scallops was rubbery and the shrimp were just OK. The rice, which is what I MOST look forward to, was the huuuuuge let down. It had little to no flavor and had an odd metal like taste. I didn't eat any of it and they were gracious enough to take it off when I explained. After this experience, I will probably not be back for a while, but if you're considering going, definitely go, but only if you can get seating for one of the hibachi chefs. read more

Update: Just spoke with the manager and he said we're welcome to retry them again and hopefully the service will be better. We'll be passing on this offer to experiment for "hopefully" better service on my own dime. _____ Went here Saturday at 6:30 and we were greeted immediately. The waiter went over some of her favorite items on the menu and we found that pretty helpful...that's about the only good part of this experience. We told the waiter we're in no hurry (which shouldn't be an issue because the place was pretty empty). We ordered edamame, miso soup, and ginger house salads as apps, and the rest of the meal was ordered from the sushi menu. In lightning speed the soup and salad arrived AND 5 minutes later sushi also started arriving at the table. Where's the edamame, and can we have a few minutes to enjoy what's in front of us before eating the main course? I told them again that we're not in a hurry and we want the apps, first. A second waiter removed the sushi from our table and just placed the plate of cold sushi under a warm light 5' from us. What the hell? Here comes plate #2 with more sushi from another waiter! Still no edamame, plate #1 is getting warm under a light, and we're barely into the soup and salad. I asked the second waiter to please do something about this and he quickly snipped back with "what do you expect me to do" in which I replied "I give up, disregard the final app and let's move along ". The table now has four plates of sushi on it and the last app finally arrives... I repeated the request to disregard it and the waiter gave us a look and marched off with it. In summary: lousy communication, amateur customer service, warm sushi delivered at breakneck speed. This was the fastest most unsatisfactory $105 dinner I think I've ever had. read more

This place was AMAZING!!! We ordered the panther sushi roll, and 3 hibachi dinners and nothing but delicious food! My wife and I brought our 3 and 1 year old and every waiter stopped by and made the experience memorable. I can't possibly see why some be would rate this place less then 4 stars. Dinners beware! Used to be a regular customer who was dining with my family when my little cousin who was visiting asked the waitress if she could have sake glass. Waitress said yes. Two days later I was served with trespass warning. Dinners beware. They took my name from my credit card and served my nephew and my small children as they were walking their puppy in Lantana. Be careful neighbors. Did I mention my little cousin was visiting my mom who had cancer and was in the hospital? Sad but true and yes I am a business owner in this community who would never treat our customers in this manner. I even gave the manager my little cousin's name as the manager said she would remove my name from the incident. She did not keep her word! I also had my little cousin mail the sake cup and returned it to the Bartonville police chief and the folks at Tokyo Samurai did not remove the charges as promised. read more

I was excited to try the lunch special, but was let down. Couldn't tell what I was eating... the taste was off, not fresh, rolls fell apart, and worst of all... my stomach hurts. After our last review and experience, a member of staff reached out and asked we give them another try. We ate there last night and the experience was much better - although very busy, we were greeted and seated quickly, drink order taken right away. Service was still a bit confusing, two different servers that didn't seem to know what the other had done. But very friendly and lots of smiling. Food was delicious. One item we ordered didn't arrive, but as we were so very full (and it wasn't on the bill), we considered it an honest mistake and happily excused the oversight. Finally an excellent sushi experience-best rolls ever. Been looking for a place which does some good sushi rolls and I'm happy to say this place is it! The shrimp tempura roll, the lovely, firecracker, tiger and panther were all freshly prepared and delicious. One of my go to Hibachi/Japanese restaurants in the Lantana/Argyle area! Ever since they have opened, they have amazing service, a friendly staff, and their food is one of the best I've ever tasted. Their chicken fried rice is one of my favorites, as well as their specialty sushi rolls which are absolutely breathtaking. This place is pretty awesome! We went on a Monday night and they were understaffed on servers, they only had one server working the bar and the entire restaurant, which is the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. It's a pretty cool place to eat and watch them cook the food at your table, plus the food was DELICIOUS! Everyone at our table had the hibachi and I had the New York Roll, which was also delicious. It's a bit expensive but I guess you do get both dinner and a show lol I'll definitely be coming back here again though! read more

I have been to this facility five times and each time my order has been wrong. I keep trying the place again because it's close to my house. Tonight my husbands meal came out and 30 minutes later mine still had not come out. Finally I just asked for it to go and finally it came out. I expected something to be taken care of for us but the bill was the full charge. I approached the lead waiter because management is never available. I explained I wasn't paying for a cold meal to take home. Without hesitation or conversation he threatened to call the police. I left my meal and walked out and my husband paid for his. By far, the worst sushi I have ever had anywhere. The spider roll was rice around a bland, tasteless mush. The Boston roll had an unidentifiable off taste that even wasabi couldn't mask. The freshwater eel was pretty much OK, but when the pickled ginger is the best part of the meal you know you have a problem. There is Kroger in the same center. Ate here recently. I am new to this area, just moved into a lantana home. I had a server named JT with brown hair and he made the service memorable. He was a polite gentlemen and had perfect timing with everything. I highly recommend requesting this server you can tell he has quality experience. For the price I expected more. Food was ok. Taste was average and the seafood wasn't what was expected, but overall a decent meal. The portions were huge! Chef was great at his job of cooking but some of his jokes and statements to my kids and the family sitting next to us were rude and above their age of understanding. I didn't care for the fact that he kept chiding my son for the placement of his chopsticks and then asked me if my son had a hearing problem. It was rude and left us very uncomfortable for the rest of the meal. The host or manager was extremely rude when my daughter switched seats to sit closer and instead of just telling the chef that we switched he got offended and made a big deal out of it. When you pay over 100$ for a meal you shouldn't be made to feel uncomfortable. The other chef adjacent to us dropped his knife twice and sprayed food all over my daughter and I.
