Tom's Marathon Movers we're awesome from the beginning to the end. Move day was 8/17. First Ezra walked me through the process efficiently and timely being my first hired movers (I may never go back to UHaul style). He kept the communication going and remembered my case well each time I called. The value was very reasonable and they had supplies on hand to use beside their usual equipment/supplies. Movers were honest in what I had for them to use and said save your money we have...! I made sure with the service I was receiving so far, I made it a bit easier on them by securing parking for the day which otherwise would have been a nightmare moving things out to truck since my location had no parking spots or driveway to use. Dan and Danny M. made a stressful move day actually fun!! They were on time to my location communicating with me prior to arrival. Super quick and efficient, both very considerate to properties and myself. Really nice guys and beyond helpful!! I would give all of these guys and the company more than 5 stars if I could! The quality of care towards my large and small items was wonderful, everything intact. I am using Tom's Marathon again in the future for sure and have already recommended them to others! Seriously the BEST moving company bar none. My sister moved out of state 4 years ago, and used another mover, Mission Transportation .. which turned out to be the worst decision they could have ever made. Terrible people. Liars, and thieves; they damaged, destroyed or stole much of their property. They required cash payment before they would unload the truck, so they had no idea of the damage until after they had paid them. She had to take them to court, and won 10K, and the judge wished she could have given them 30K ,..that's how bad it was .,.cut to Tom's Marathon Movers, who just moved me out of California today.. What a night and day difference. He gave a quote and stuck to it. No add ons. No additional charges .. in fact, John went above & beyond, so much more than he was obligated to do, and was still willing to stick to the original quote. He didn't require payment until the entire job was finished (other than the deposit). I would tell anyone who's looking to move out of state to use this company .. After my sister's terrible experience, we all did our due diligence on this move, which led to finding Tom's Marathon Movers, and I could not be happier with my choice. No lie, moving can be one of the most stressful times in your life. All the time spent packing up everything you own, trying to anticipate the best way to protect the things you love, and then it's out of your hands. You're at the mercy of whoever you hire. All you can do is hope that you find a reputable company with good people. Well the gods of moving smiled down on us when they sent Armondo, Ernesto, and Ezra from Tom's Marathon Movers to take care of our move. Not only did they work non-stop, tirelessly for hours but they also had such a great, positive outlook throughout the entire day. They had to deal with boxes and boxes and boxes of art books (we have a problem - what can I say?) and they took it in stride. Never complaining, never letting it slow them down. When we found out our couch wouldn't fit through the doorway to our new place they didn't bat an eye and devised a way to fly it up through the second floor window. If the other movers who work for Tom's are half as good as Ernesto, Armondo, and Ezra you will have a perfect experience. If you're lucky enough to get these three guys taking care of your move you can forget all the worry and stress that normally comes with moving day. I had Kevin and his team help with my move this morning and they did an amazing job. Communication was great from the start, they confirmed arrival timing and kept everything super smooth and organized throughout the process. This definitely wasn't an easy move since I was on the 3rd floor with no elevator, but they were still incredibly quick, efficient, and handled everything with a lot of care. They did a great job loading the truck, wrapping furniture, and tying everything down securely to make sure nothing shifted during the drive. I was a little scared since I had some big plants needing to be moved, but they took such great care of them and secured them extremely well. Even though I only hired them for loading, I honestly would have felt completely comfortable having them handle the entire move and unloading process as well. This was my first time ever hiring movers and I was genuinely so pleased with the experience. I would absolutely use Kevin and his team again for any future moves. I did research and consulted with friends before selecting Toms Marathon Movers. I started by asking the booker, Ezra, many questions, and he asked me many as well. I appreciated his thoroughness and specificity. He made himself available every time I called back with yet another question, but there was no "hard sell" from his end. I also appreciated that the move was broken down into two days: packing everything (and I do mean everything) on day 1 and moving on day 2. Trying to do it all in one day would have been a truly awful experience for the moving crew and for my family. Doing it this way made the experience 100% better. The first day was 4.75 hours, the second day was 6 hours. The three movers (Bernie, Jose and Ernesto) were professional, thorough, extremely hardworking, worked incredibly well together and everything came through without a scratch. Everyone from Toms Marathon Movers had excellent communication skills, which was hugely important and helpful. Although having a company pack and move you is expensive, Toms Marathon Movers' prices are fair, transparent and worth every penny. Highly professional. Well done! read more

We highly recommend Tom's. We hired them twice in the last month. Though we've used other full-service movers in the past, there's no comparison. This company is the real deal. From our first call seeking a quote until the last item was carried off the truck - every moment was a pleasure. They take the discomfort out of moving. I found Tom's Marathon Movers on NextDoor...we were very happy with their service and highly recommend them :) We moved from a townhouse to a single-family house, Tom's sent 4 movers and the crew worked quickly, were careful with our furniture/belongings & they communicated well with us throughout our 5hr move. I planned the move over the phone with Ryan and used their online guide to estimate items/truck storage. Our 4 movers made a fantastic team - Daniel, Bernie, Alex, Danny G - have their own lingo and they're a well-oiled group...very impressive operation and all 4 gentlemen were above and beyond to ensure it was a positive experience for us and we really appreciate their delicate concern for our house/walls and of course, items. Note: our move was sort of complex because we had to repo their truck based on street parking rules but the crew was totally on-board with strategizing this and I'm thankful we were able to avoid any tickets! We are a senior couple who moved from Los Angeles to Arizona. While looking for movers, I decided to use reviews as a way to weed out the good from the bad and we were not disappointed with Tom's Marathon Movers!!!! They were fantastic and I couldn't recommend them more! They gave us an estimate then asked for a $100 deposit to lock down the date. The estimate they gave was in line with other estimates we received, in fact, less than some others. We did all our own packing so when they arrived, all they needed to do was load our boxes on their truck. They were on time, courteous, very very hardworking and delivered everything the next day on time and didn't ask for payment until they were finished. No up charging, no arm twisting and absolutely no problems. This company is honest, and I have no problem recommending them 100% for anyone considering any kind of move. John and Todd made the booking process incredibly easy--super responsive, flexible with availability, and the quote was very reasonable with no hassle during checkout. They tackled what felt like an impossible job--moving a 500-pound jacuzzi through rough terrain, up inclines, and around trees--and made it happen seamlessly. I have mixed feelings about my recent experience with this team. On the positive side, the logistics were seamless. Their pricing is competitive, and they were prompt with their responses during the booking process. On the day of the move, the crew arrived on time and worked professionally. I was impressed enough in the moment that I gave the team a 20% tip. However, once the furniture was positioned and I had a chance to inspect the space, I was disappointed to find damage to my flooring. There is a big scratch across the floor and multiple puncture holes in the stairs that weren't there before. It's frustrating because the service itself was efficient, but the lack of floor protection ended up being a costly oversight. If you hire them, I'd highly recommend double checking that they use floor runners, as the repair will likely outweigh the initial savings on the move. read more

Holy smokes! What a team. First of all, this was the 5th company I called. Ryan knew exactly what to ask (elevator access, stairs on the pick up or drop off, any heavy pieces) and therefore knew I needed 3 movers instead of 2. AND, Ryan was the only person who let me know that I would need a parking permit from my city for the moving truck. Nice tip, Ryan! Then the team showed up. Dan, Vitalli & Maximus.
