First time at this place on a Saturday night. Atmosphere was good. Lots of TV's to watch. As with any good restaurant, it comes down to two things: service and food quality. Service was slow, our potato wedges came 20 minutes after our server told us and at the same time as pizza. Both were not hot. More like warm as if been sitting out. Probably won't go back. Fantastic pizza, would even say best in Bakersfield. Service can sometimes be a little slow but expected when a place is busy.

Ordered 2 salads to go with 2 extra dressings. 1 Cobb salad with 2 Italian dressing & 1 chicken Caesar salad with 2 dressings. Let me say this 1st, if I knew that they give you a "large" size dressing with the salad, I wouldn't have ordered an extra! The dressing they gave was like 1/2 cup, who would need more than 1? But I wasn't told that over the phone. Then when my husband brought the food home there was 2 large Caesar dressings but only 1 Italian. So I call because we were charged .75 extra. I go around with the girl on the phone who insists he got a large instead of a small dressing because it was a large salad & wasn't charged. So my husband goes back with the receipt & asks for a manager. The lady at the register says she's the mgr. (We do frequent this place & he never saw this lady before.) So she says she has the extra dressing waiting. She hands him a 2 oz container of dressing for $.75! Are you for real? After getting a large 1/2 cup container of Caesar as an extra for $.75, she hands him a 2oz container & flippingly says sorry, the girl on the phone was new. Really?? This was so wrong! After having to drive back for that? I would think during this shut down of restaurants to take out only, the manager would at least care that the customer was treated right! So in essence, look your to go orders over before you leave! You get overcharged for a lousy 2 oz container of dressing when you should have gotten the 1/2 cup size. Good customer phone service should inform the person that with large salads you get large size dressing (I don't know anyone that would pour a cup of dressing on 1 salad). Managers should be more concerned that the customer is happy. This particular manager could care less! My husband felt like he was just a pain in her ass. Went here for dinner on a Tuesday night. For starters our server took forever to take our drink order then we had to wait even longer to receive them. The food over all wasn't amazing, mediocre at best. The place wasn't even half full so I'd expect service to be spot on. All pizza is not created equal. Welcome to Tony's Pizza- Their pizza delivers in quality of ingredients- not too skimpy on the toppings and not overloaded in the sauce. The pizza is a great balance of crust to toppings ratio- for you bread lovers out there. We recently held a birthday party at Tony's and from the moment we stepped in to the moment we left- the staff was friendly and attentive. For more intimate parties, I highly recommend you reserve the banquet room. In addition to the facilities and service, Tony's also offers a wide array of dishes other than pizza. My spouse raves about the 3-alarm burger. I think it is great too, but I have to request more of the secret sauce to add to the burger. As for me, the salads are amazing- they add avocado to it. Took grandkids specifically to enjoy the arcades and then the pizza. 10 of he 15 arcades were broken. When I reported this to the waitress, she said the vendor was just here the day before. Of the five that didn't have signs of being broken, two more were taking money. I was mad and unplugged them. Needless to say, I was not impressed. read more

My husband and I just ate breakfast this morning. Our food arrived cold we had to ask for a straw for ice tea and Rachael was our waitress. She forgot to bring our drinks out first and then when she served our food she forgot our wheat toast and sour dough toast. She obsessively apologized each time. We stopped in here on the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend around 2 o'clock. The parking lot had a handful of cars. This establishment has been a few different restaurants over the past 2 decades and they have all failed, I assume it's because of the location. It's remotely located on the outer skirts of Bakersfield on the farthest east side by the new softball fields that encroach in the old Mesa Marin Raceway. We decided on appetizers and their famous chili verde pizza. We've had the pizza from both the Mt. Vernon location and California Ave one. The pizza was spot on and exactly like you'd get at either of the Bakersfield restaurants. We also ordered the bone in hot wings and steak nachos. The wings were as described in other reviews. Baked out of a bag and soft, soggy. The nachos had good chips and all the toppings you'd expect minus guacamole. The "steak" topping was none short of 2 day old asada left on the grill. The atmosphere is nice. It follows in the tradition of the other locations with pictures and memorabilia of firefighters. The inside is HUGE! We were seated on the right side of the front door in a room that had tables and booths with a small bar. The other room to the left had the same minus the bar and is were the small arcade games are. The only downfall of this location was the strong sewer smell when walking in the front door but the smell wasn't present in the clean bathrooms right by there. Overall it's a 2.5 star restaurant with 5 star pizza. read more

This restaurant is far from where we live but it was worth the drive. Customer service was exceptional and this is by far is the best place in town for a michelada. If you are in the area or up for a drive to the east side this is definitely a place to try. read more

This post is long over due. We are so happy that we have a great family place this far east. I love coming in and seeing friendly faces. The kids have fun and always leave full. The food is consistent and tasty. The service is always pleasant. I have even been in with large groups from work (no reservation) and the staff bend over backwards to help us. read more

Slow, Slow, Slow. If you want to set down and wait 10 or 15 minutes for a server to take your drink order and then wait for 10 more minutes for the drinks and then wait forever to get mediocre food, this is your place. Really really good food and friendly staff. Fawn was our server and she could not have been more helpful or attentive. Her enthusiasm was a perfect addition to the food and atmosphere without being over the top. I had the New York Steak prepared medium rare and it was perfect. Super juicy, perfect char, well seasoned. May be the best steak in Bakersfield. The Cheesy Garlic Bread was outstanding also. Great job Tony and your staff!!!!! Keep it up. read more

The Hostess was extremely RUDE during our visit last night. We arrived with a party of 30, and it being a Pizza Parlor you wouldn't think seating would be an issue. It was. Waited 40 mins to be seated. Once Called, the hostess' voiced her annoyance at taking up more than one booth/table. Even though their were MULTIPLE BOOTHS open and that remained open during our visit. Our Server was GREAT. She was apologetic and did a great job handling such a large party. Our food arrived cold and took 30+ minutes to get. Once ready to check out it was another 20+ minute wait for their "server" to reboot after each transaction. The staff was extremely rude while we waited to be checked out and made it seem like it was our fault stating to another staff "the next time you want to split up tickets, you can do this because I don't want to wait here". We love Tony's pizza but will NOT be visiting this location again. read more

We hosted a party for 35 people and were delighted with the food and service. We contacted them the week before and told them what we wanted to serve. Never again will I be coming here. Horrible horrible service! Took forever to get our order and by time we got the other half of our order we had finished with the first half. Worse part was the owner or manager of this place was very very unprofessional and rude! Never have I seen or heard of a restaurant owner/manager being so bad at their job. Instead of fixing a problem she's the one making them! They couldn't get our ticket right, tried to say some of our party didn't pay for theirs and accuse them of not paying. To make it worse even after we left they told our other half of the party that they wanted to see proof that we did in fact pay for our order. All this was the owner making a huge deal over nothing and causing a scene. Instead of her being worried about how slow service was going inside her restaurant she was worried about giving dirty looks to everyone and making sure kids weren't alone at the arcade games without an adult.
