My wife and I tried Torchy's for lunch. Ordering is quick and easy at a kiosk, walk up counter, or at the bar. My wife ordered a salad adding fajita chicken and found it to be an excellent choice. We shared some very good, thin, and crispy chips and queso. A half order is a perfect size for two. I chose a Republican taco, even though I'm not, featuring bbq brisket. Another excellent choice. This is the only time I have been and not been happy with the service. I always order Togo. I was not provided with silverware are any of the sauces that came with the meals. We actually first tried Torchy's Tacos in San Antonio three years ago and it was amazing. We were excited to see it was coming to Surprise. The first time my husband and I went the food was good but not as we remembered it.Tonight we took our kids and overall not a great experience. The shrimp was not cooked well in the Baja tacos and the beef in the democrat taco was fatty and chewy and overall not a good taco. Disappointed is an understatement. Consistent tacos would be great but not sure that growing so fast has helped the quality of food. Don't think we'll be returning. read more

Welcome to Prasada Torchy's Tacos! So....where do I start? Ok,,,here is my review. 1- First of all I did NOT go into Torchy's Tacos blind, I did my research and knew this restaurant was NOT authentic Mexican food. It's a FUSION of many other elements. Being that I am Mexican and having lived in Mexico for many years, I have become a Mexican food PURIST. So, I knew what I was up against. 2- Overall, the concept of FUSION MEX is okay if that is what you like, right? KFC in your tacos? Deep fried avocados? Why not? If...and only if.. that is what you want and expect. 3- The beef was stringy and contained too much gristle. They did not have carne asada tacos, they only had brisket or some other choices. I did not like the sauces. Not hot enough and the chipotle was strange tasting. 4- Service. The service was very good, the servers were attentive and very friendly. 5- Ambience- Sadly, this is where my review goes downhill. The place is extremely noisy! As soon as we walked in there was pounding music over the speakers, the bar had TV sounds and the worst part were the SCREECHING chair noises. EVERY time a patron scooted his chair it made a LOUD screeching sound! So..as we were eating our food this is what we heard: SCREECH!!! BOOM BOOM BOOM, BLAH BLAH SCREECH, SCREECH!!! Well this will be my second negative review for this location. We went here several months ago and the food was very disappointing. You were kind enough to reach out in order to make it right. We were sent a gift card for 20.00 which we attempted to use today. We walked in to the restaurant and WERE NOT GREETED. We said hello to the young man at the register smiled and said how ya doing. He DID NOT LOOK UP FROM WHAT HE WAS DOING and said BAD. I said what? Bad? He then said are you ready to order? My husband said let's go. I said to him just because you are having a bad day doesn't mean you take it out on the customers. This level of ignorance as to what customer service looks like is ridiculous. With the cost of eating out people will go where they get treated with respect and know that their business is appreciated. It is really sad that there is no expectation by the management as to how the employees perform their jobs. read more

We tried the new Surprise, Az location because we love Torchy's. The food is always good! On this particular visit the restaurant was extremely busy on a Saturday night and table seating was limited. I sat down with my two children like every other mother and family were doing while my husband ordered our food. The waitress, Shawna ran up to my table to yell at me that I wasn't allowed to sit down because I didn't have a tracker yet. She was so loud that other tables turned to watch her. So I proceeded to get up and leave the table. The two other families without trackers that sat at other tables at the same time as I did were not told to leave. Then another group of people without a tracker took the table I just left and were also not told to leave. If it is the restaurants policy that you can't sit until you have a tracker, you need to run your dining room differently. Post the policy, have someone seating customers with food/tracker, don't allow people access to the dining room until after you order, or get a hostess. You've lost a loyal Torchy's customer. I'm so disappointed at the double standard and how my family treated. I understand it was Saturday, it was busy, seating was limited but Shawna could have politely asked me to wait to be seated instead of making a scene. Do better Torchy's. read more
